Why do they say "spanish" or "mexican" in all of their opinions... Spain and Mexico are not the only spanish speaking countries in the world, oh and Spain ISN'T EVEN IN LATIN AMERICA! Americans need some serious geography and history classes. LOL
As a brazilian, i usually don't care too much about what yankes think or don't about Latin America, but they didn't know el Chavo, is an heresy! For Christ Sake, what mexicans are doing in US that didn't show Chespirito for them?
+Tobias Ommer You gotta know... but most Germans have no clue who Che was.
NOBODY knew who Che was?! Nobody?! Do you really spend so much time at school just on studying USA presidents that there is no room for ANYTHING else?!
Jejune Brozv What the fuck are you smoking son? He was at the revolution of Cuba too, along with Cienfuegos, Guevara was as important as Castro during the war. Same with the he did traveling in South America. He became a symbol for the comunist propaganda, sure, and many "fans" has inflated him more than he deserve, yeah. But you have gone waaay out of point with your answer. Again, I can't tell if you're a really good troll or you are being serious.
Jejune Brozv A-are you even reading? I just said, Cienfuegos, Guevara and Castro were equally important in their war time and should be recognized as such instead of "nothing important to see here, not even to mention in books" as you said in your first post. And I also implied that is wrong to inflate Guevara's memory to more than just a man. Maybe in your country he is nothing more than a symbol that leftys can gravitate around. But in my country the three are mentioned a lot because mexicans helped Cubans in their war time. The "why is Che fucking everywhere" thing, has a lot to do with he becoming a symbol of "rebellion" that a lot of latin americans could relate to at those crazy times, specially in México that was still recovering from their own revolution. Guevara became a symbol for many people, and as every symbol, it could be exploted and capitalized, his image, was perverted and his ideals (wich is perfectly ok to disagree with, personally I do) forgotten with each passing generation, something that happens all the time. To my understanding, the propaganda was usefull to Castro's regime, so he played his cards right and let it slide, despite ending in bad terms with his former companions and, Che's merchandise prohibited in Cuba. >Go back to smoke your cuban cigars Why are people on this me vs you set of thinking? Is seriously the idea of a person saying that Guevara is relevant in Cuba's history and should be mentioned in US history books as important as Castro during the war time, instead of a movie prop and "just a guy who did not do much in the end" a crazy idea? Your first comment oversimplifies an historical event to the point that it make it seems like Castro did all the job. He changed the country, yes, but he didn't make it alone. And that's the whole point. There's the conflict, and then the reconstruction of the country. Castro and Guevara didn't agreed on the way to work at the post-war, so they parted ways. Does that mean Guevara should be erased from the armed conflict? No. Does it make his actions in the war are any less important? No. Should people stop over-hyping his image and putting his face everywhere? Yes. Should people stop exploting his memory, erasing his flaws as a human being? Yes. To reiterate my point. He was an important human being, key figure during the armed conflict in Cuba, relevant as Fidel, Raul, Camilo and Almeida, and should be mentioned as such in US (and world) history books that speak of the matter. The current use / explotation of his image I don't agree with because people tend to forget his human side making him flawless, wich he was not. Are you understanding what I'm saying?
In my opinion Main land Latin America has more prominent Musical Figures like Julieta Venegas, Marco Antonio Solis, Alejandro Fernandez Juan Gabriel, Soda Stereo, Jaguares, Paquita La del Barrio Cafe Tacvba, The list goes on lol, Selena is incredible! but there is much more to offer from actual Latin America

Okay, well... I'm brazilian... So I feel just a little bad for having no idea who Don Francisco and Celia Cruz were. But I feel really bad for not recognizing Alberto Fujimori. Fujimori's mom and dad were japanese, on their way to Peru from Japan he was born, it means international waters when they arrived to Perú peruvian inmigration gave him a peruvian birth certificated saying he was peruvian as they did with all the new borns who were born in international waters.
+sofía dolores Well, compare her to the joke that Macri is now. By the way, I don't really understand why you say she was a joke, something she wasn't is a joke. You may disagree with her, but something she had was courage lmao.
+sofía dolores it's been like two months and ppl are already going "yeah i didnt vote for macri" when they proudly said they did after the elections so idk i think macri is even worse :^)
+Latinoamerica TranceFamily Mentira vil!!
Steve Last Name It is actually interesting because he was a repressive dictator back then, most of Perú hates him for the crimes against human rights during his goverment.
When they were talking about Celia i felt very very disrespected XD Even tho they didn't know her (which is very strange because she was like everywere in USA in her days) I was like "are you serious???" but still funny.
When I was a kid, I just thought Celia Cruz was a weird old lady with crazy hair. It wasn't until many years later that I discovered how wonderful her music is!
I am in a pool of pee, literally! For the first time in my life I haven't laughed so hard. Their facial expressions not wanting to offend were priceless, omg! More I need more.
Why did these people have such a hard time assimilating the fact that there are Latin American people of direct Asian descent? Michelle Kwan and Margaret Cho are American women of Korean descent but American nonetheless. Fujimori is Peruvian of Japenese descent but a Peruvian and Latin American nonetheless.
alot of people who are getting angry are probally latin american themselves so it comes natural to you. dont criticize them because they dont know this stuff , look now they are probally more open to learning about our cultures P.S Don Francisco is a vampire
Jejune Brozv Yeah i know that dude, I was just joking, people down here in Mexico usually just call them burros. But having a Japanese/Peruvian present is certainly something different.
Jejune Brozv As a person currrently living in a latin american country, I am well aware of the multicultural diversity present in our continent. My point was that even though a nation may have a certain population of people of a certain ethnicity, a countries typical citizen is always portrayed with a certain stereotype, that said, having a national icon with physical traits opposite of said stereotype gives off a reaction of intrigue to people not familiar with said icon or culture.
They dont know who is Che Guevara, and USA have alot of troubles with Cuba for god, but is like say it to wall, you probably dont know why Che Guevara is referred to Cuba
The fact that you choose Fujimori as an icon, that man is responsible of death, misery and a lot of horrible things. I'm peruvian so I can truly say that.
who the hell is Don Francisco? Latin America has 588 million people and I am sure 200 million (brazilians) don´t know who Don Francisco is... but El Chavo Del Ocho, yes. All brazilians do know him.
I'm Argentinean and im surprised 1) How do u know our president is really annoying? wow xD we think the same xD 2) El chavo... really guys? hes the best character ever. 3) Everybody in USA is that ignorant? Or they're actors? Come on.
***** el chavo was transmitted on the whole continent. The only one country who didn't show it was Cuba. And it's one of the best TV shows ever made. That's why I'm surprised. And no, I'm not Mexican XD. Btw don't get offense.
Fer11D Im also argentinian, maybe is understanble that they didnt knew about don francisco, the last guy (i dont know about him eaither), celia cruz and el chavo. but Guevara... cmon Guevara is a huge character, with lot of history involved, its kinda IGNORANT if you dont know about him, its something like if i wouldnt know about Malcom X, Martin Luther King or The Black Panthers, people who faught againts the opretion and for the human rights. I didnt had those guys in my books when i was in highschool, seriusly guys apply your self!!! another thing guys, when ppl say "LATIN AMERICAN" its mean everyone from mexico to argentina, but when ppl say "SOUTHAMERICAN" its mean everyone from venezuela to argentina.
Guys he's not Asian he's fully Peruvian it's just that a lot of ecuadorian and Peruvian ppl have an Asian look to there eyes cause of the strong sub there so it just runs down the family
I thought I would see some telenovela stars like Thalia. I don't know about other latin american countries, but she was very famous and popular among brazilians between 90s and early 2000s. I mean, María la del Barrio (Maria do Bairro in portuguese) was awesome. I grew up watching her acting and singing.
If you've had any education in America you should have some idea as to who Che Guevara is. At least know the name. He is an important historical figure.
Jejune Brozv Sir,we're latins,we have been forced to learn your language and your culture, believe me,we're not dumb as you think we are...We are smarter than most americans. Don't you even compare us to americans
Jejune Brozv Well,I'm fucking latin,I speak spanish, "Jejune" sound way more like food than an actual name so I justt guessed,or you want to be called an it by anyone who dosn't know your gender? So stop being a fuck racist,if you think "u r so c00l" by shitting words over the Internet, come to my fucking barrio,I want to see how villeros take you calling them machistas :)
Fujimori? That really trips them up xD But aside from that, he is actually in "jail" and for good reason..... I remember him saying "SOY INNOCENTE" hahah
No in fact anyone here , consider Walther Mercado a superstar , neither the Presidents WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? C'mon WHY the fucking presidents will be a superstar??????, only YOU americans consider that kind of people a "superstar" but is because you are so ignorant and dumbasss that even CHOOSE personalities wrong, so i guess is normal that americans have the stupidness in their blood gp5
erick6e Disculpa, I'm very sorry for your poor ignorant self generalizing a whole group of people like that.Si va a usar nuestro lenguaje para decir cosas ofensivas porfabor aprenda a decirlas bien dichas.BTW your guess is wrong.
Actually Fujimori is japanese bc he was born in Japan but his whole family moved to Perú when he was 7 years old and that's the reason bc he has a japanese accent when he speaks Spanish. they're little brother and sister talk a natural peruvian Spanish.
Alberto Fujimori was indeed born Kenya Fujimori in Japan, his family migrated to Peru when he was a child, and as was a costume for asians migrating to Latin American countries, registered him as born in the same day as the country's independence day, in this case July 28... which most likely isn't his actual birth date.
+ruanfernando We do. Fujimori just used his connections and power (mainly Vladimiro Montesinos) to get away with it, and half the country believed him for 10 years. Obviously, some still do.
Mike Patton from Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, etc, said once to Don Francisco on a Teletón "Gracias, Don Corleone", that was so bloody amazing! But well then, Mike Patton is chileno, so it's not a big deal hahaha.
Okay, I got Che, Celia and El Chavo but I feel like those were super obvious because they have a pretty strong presence in the US. Or I guess because I live in Southeast Texas, at least this part of it. El Chavo is still in repeats. It used to be one of the few non infomercial things on regular tv when I was working the graveyard shift like 20 years ago and I would watch it all the time.
I honestly cringed every time they said "the Spanish version of..."
+Tulito Garcia I cringed even more when they said "the mexican version of..."
+Bianca Radtke I cringed a little more when ya'll said y'all cringed
Deik Indefinido Was that your attempt at a witty comment?
+Tulito Garcia Idk, was it haha
+Deik Indefinido ?
When he called Celia an Oompa Loompa, I blacked out for a little bit.
Yeah that was disrespectful
i felt so disrespected
Avonelle Davis same.
I was ready to fight lol.
I saw red
I'm Mexican, but i'm kind of annoyed that they kept on referring to these non- mexican characters as Mexican.
JC_Animations or as spanish
JC Animations righttt!!
it’s so annoying
It is annoying
I died when that lady said "he's involved in organized crime" to Don Francisco
you mean he isn't?

"This guy is an imposter" ROFL!!!! There are many Asians in Latin America people!!!
+taopanda98 Facepalm'd at that moment lol

Guevara was Argentinian. I think you got him mixed up with Castro.
+Diauts he was part of the Cuban revolution, hence why he said Cuba
Lauralaey5 Correct. Neither did I say his name was actually Che.
the celia cruz part was a bit disrespectful...
Extremely. May she rest in peace.
thought the same...
I'm Cuban, she is our icon, I was pissed that they didn't know her she's international.
seriously! I agree plus she sang I will survive (Sobrevivire ) like how could no one recognize her

Is seriously the idea of a person saying that Guevara is relevant in Cuba's history and should be mentioned in US history books as important as Castro during the war time, instead of a movie prop and "just a guy who did not do much in the end" a crazy idea?

You don't have to be that smart to know that fujimori was just a Japanese Latino. "This is a joke, right?" was a pretty ignorant thing to say.
Now that I think about it, Celia Cruz is the original Latino Nicky Minaj
She's the one that first said la negra tiene tumbao.

But feels dissapointing to see A. Fujimori as an Icon, thanks god he is in prison now.
Fujimori's mom and dad were japanese, on their way to Peru from Japan he was born, it means international waters when they arrived to Perú peruvian inmigration gave him a peruvian birth certificated saying he was peruvian as they did with all the new borns who were born in international waters.
it makes all the sense, thank you very much
+Takador EX-Presidenta, acordate del EX pls
"his face is in so many t-shirts of white guys"
CHE GUEVARA
Cristina Fernandez a Kardashian mother jajajajajja... nooooo, she's a Kardashian president! Jajajajajaja.... demasiado bueno! Me meoooooooo...
"She is like a Kardashian's mother" "She looks really annoying"
OH HELL YES LMAO😂😂😂
AS A PRESIDENT SHE WAS A JOKE
+sofía dolores Well, compare her to the joke that Macri is now. By the way, I don't really understand why you say she was a joke, something she wasn't is a joke. You may disagree with her, but something she had was courage lmao.
+Gaspoo AMEN omg ✌✌✌
+sofía dolores it's been like two months and ppl are already going "yeah i didnt vote for macri" when they proudly said they did after the elections so idk i think macri is even worse :^)
El Chavo is so iconic they still air it on tv. Good stuff.
+Latinoamerica TranceFamily Mentira vil!!
They are soooooo ignorant
How?
So ignorant it hurts....
Don Francisco who????
I'm argentinian and i don't know who is he...
+Priss. C.a.r.p LOL fucking ignorant man
myjfff No, seriously, no one in Argentina knows who the fuck is he...
And, by the way, i'm a woman.
Regards!!
Priss. C.a.r.p fucking ignorant woman.
myjfff it's ok. Whatever.... I don't care...
My dad use to be Fujimori's body guard back in the 90's. No joke. My mom's side of the family hates Fujimori though.
***** Too random/uninteresting to fake.
Steve Last Name It is actually interesting because he was a repressive dictator back then, most of Perú hates him for the crimes against human rights during his goverment.
Megan Gutierrez Farfan Oh, I didn't know. Thanks for the info!
Alejandra Fernandez eres Peruana?! :P
everybody hates him.
Some of the guesses were pretty insightful about these icons. Especially based just a single photo.
Please do another one of this! It was so funny!
The women in the beginning asked if Benicio del Toro was Latino or Mexican.
0:14 "Is he Mexican?"
Kill me now.
0:27 He's involved in organized crime?... juajuajajahahjahs... ejem, bueno... capaz, poh.
Wuajaja. Y no es chiste la wea
robando de la teleton xd
alot of people who are getting angry are probally latin american themselves so it comes natural to you. dont criticize them because they dont know this stuff , look now they are probally more open to learning about our cultures
P.S Don Francisco is a vampire
Jejune Brozv also, saying Alberto Fujimori, is like saying sushi burritos. :P
I think that having an Asian/American icon in Latin America is quite cool, maybe in the late future it will become a more prominent thing.
They dont know who is Che Guevara, and USA have alot of troubles with Cuba for god, but is like say it to wall, you probably dont know why Che Guevara is referred to Cuba
Seriously? Not know who is Che Guevara? I think that is ignorance...
Walter Mercado the time in the afternoon when we had to shut up during Primer Impacto
H
I honestly thought he was Carolina Herrera
0:27 pretty accurate. Mike Patton once called him "Don Corleone" live on national tv.
The fact that you choose Fujimori as an icon, that man is responsible of death, misery and a lot of horrible things. I'm peruvian so I can truly say that.
Yeah, I don't know too much about Fujimori, but I know that he is not very well-liked in Peru :(
Celia Cruz as Nicky minaj!! LOL xD
Ok I'm argentinian and I dont have a single idea who this Don Francisco is.
Sisi yo tampoco sabia quien era, tambien argentina
tienes mucha suerte xD
I'm from Brazil and I didn't know him too!!!
The Walter Mercado one HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH the first guy was so funny with his "uy uy uy"
“I forgot Japan is not a country”, that one made me laugh. 😂
He said Japanese is not a country, it's a Japanese term.
who the hell is Don Francisco? Latin America has 588 million people and I am sure 200 million (brazilians) don´t know who Don Francisco is...
but El Chavo Del Ocho, yes. All brazilians do know him.
all latin america knows el chavo, i mean, that program was just awesome
Don't call him El Chavo, his name is and forever will be Chaves
+rogerpenna If you don't know who Don Francisco is, then I supposed you don't live in the USA.
+Lucasp110 Maybe to Portuguese speaking people, but to us who watched the original Spanish version he will always be El Chavo
+Lucasp110 what the hell dude
Marina P T-SHIRTS
Dominic Rodriguez Chug hazañas? Como qué? Ayudar a instaurar una dictadura?
OMG they don't know who CHE GUEVARA is!!!! :O well done american TV...
I'm latin american (argentinian) and i don't know any of these "icons" except fot Cristina Kirchner, obviously, "el Che", el Chavo and Fujimori
Me too and I'm from Brazil!!
No sabes quien es el Chavo pelotudo!
Oh, my God. I actually wanted to start crying when they didn't know who Che Guevara is.
I'm Argentinean and im surprised
1) How do u know our president is really annoying? wow xD we think the same xD
2) El chavo... really guys? hes the best character ever.
3) Everybody in USA is that ignorant? Or they're actors? Come on.
Fer11D asi son de idiotas creelo o no....
(mexico-estadounidense)
Man, Don Francisco being called a drug lord made my day XD. THB i'm chilean and I only recognized like 3 people.
How could they know who Celia Cruz was? She lived in USA almost her whole life.
0:27 "he's involved in organized crime" ... hahaha, amazing.
it's so stupid how people wear so many things with Ernesto Che Guevara's face on it and have no clue of all the great things he did
brazilian here,
got
Fujimori, Ernesto Assassin Guevara, walter mercado, cristina bitchner and of course Mr Bolañoz el chavo :)
CRISTINA BITCHNER TJAKGKWKG OMG OMG I CAN'T
Whether you approve of his ideology or not, HOW THE FUCK DON'T YOU KNOW WHO CHE IS?!
They thought Walter mercado was a woman! Hahaha! To be honest growing up watching him nobody was 100% sure.
The total confusion looks they had after hearing Chavo was supposed to be a 8 year old hahahahhahahahahahha
Celia Cruz they all thought she was a male and Walter a women 😂😂😂
+Dany Zone Calculo Diferencial
Seth Hultkrantz gracias profesor.
Dany Zone de nada
+Alx8282 JAJAJAJA
@ 2:40 they should be ashamed.
If you've had any education in America you should have some idea as to who Che Guevara is. At least know the name. He is an important historical figure.
Sosa Grover everybody should know who he was, so they can take it as a warning from history
Jejune Brozv Sir,we're latins,we have been forced to learn your language and your culture, believe me,we're not dumb as you think we are...We are smarter than most americans.
Don't you even compare us to americans
Jejune Brozv Boy?
Jejune Brozv Well,I'm fucking latin,I speak spanish, "Jejune" sound way more like food than an actual name so I justt guessed,or you want to be called an it by anyone who dosn't know your gender?
So stop being a fuck racist,if you think "u r so c00l" by shitting words over the Internet, come to my fucking barrio,I want to see how villeros take you calling them machistas :)
I used to feel really insecure about "Am I Latino enough?" until this video.
Love the way the easily judge other celebrities... Coming from the country where Paris Hiltom and the Kardashians are a success, not to worry about ;)
Fujimori? That really trips them up xD But aside from that, he is actually in "jail" and for good reason..... I remember him saying "SOY INNOCENTE" hahah
Who the shit considers Walter Mercado a "superstar"? Ugh come on Latino's lets stop it with this astrology/psychic bullshit and read a book!
Btw who cares...Btw
erick6e Sos un xenofóbico, esa es la verdad.
Forget this example of stupid latin, we all are not like it.
gp5 Exactly he is not a super star he is a super marica!! LOL.
Come on, Frida Kahlo shoud definitely have been in there!!
I'm watching this again and I just realized this came out a few weeks before Chespirito passed away!
I think that Don francisco has a world record for longest running show. his show was on every saturday for like 20 years!
R.I.P El Chavo 👻
Actually Fujimori is japanese bc he was born in Japan but his whole family moved to Perú when he was 7 years old and that's the reason bc he has a japanese accent when he speaks Spanish. they're little brother and sister talk a natural peruvian Spanish.
I think it's bc I'm peruvian, that is something know by many people here.
Ocean Born Finally!!! Somebody who can see the truth!! Really "Agent 393 Delta"? Miraflores? pls
Peru doesn't forbid foreigners from being president??
+ruanfernando We do. Fujimori just used his connections and power (mainly Vladimiro Montesinos) to get away with it, and half the country believed him for 10 years. Obviously, some still do.
Who doesn't know el chavo?
the el chavo premise of old people dressing up like kids disturbs me
Mike Patton from Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, etc, said once to Don Francisco on a Teletón "Gracias, Don Corleone", that was so bloody amazing! But well then, Mike Patton is chileno, so it's not a big deal hahaha.
where are the athletes? Not even a football player :(
Arent latinoamericans americans? wtf the title
Okay, I got Che, Celia and El Chavo but I feel like those were super obvious because they have a pretty strong presence in the US. Or I guess because I live in Southeast Texas, at least this part of it. El Chavo is still in repeats. It used to be one of the few non infomercial things on regular tv when I was working the graveyard shift like 20 years ago and I would watch it all the time.
please do this again it was so hillarious
