I love how easy your recipes are. Last night I made a WFPBNO mac & cheese from another channel that required 1.5hrs in the kitchen from start to finish. The results weren't even good. I'm not wasting my time anymore with overly complicated recipes, and stick more to ones like this.
You are right! For those of us who work from home, this is perfect! I love throwing things in a pot or in the oven first thing in the morning before I start work. Thanks Dylan!
My husband and I laugh so much because you cook just like me. "Whatever, throw it in the pan" 🤣. I'm definitely not as skilled at combining foods to make them look and taste so good though. I'm not sure about that okra but I'll give it a whirl !!! Thanks for keeping things so simple and easy and not having any funky ingredients we have to hunt down !!!
Haha that's awesome, it's the best way to cook! Give the okra a try for sure! Simple and easy is what we do here at Well Your World, it's the best way to adhere to a healthy diet. Thanks for watching and commenting Lisa!
Okra is awesome. Learned to luv it from growing in TX. The GV frozen brand (pick out the tops of the okra, ugh) is perfect with dark red kidneys & rice, and tomatoes, of course. Lots of spice, yes!!
I added a bag of frozen chopped collard greens to this recipe instead of the kale to stick to a more southern theme and it came out amazing! I also added some fresh cracked smoked black pepper =) Great recipe!
Ive recently returned to plantbased living (for good) and this was one of my favourite dishes when I used to be part of the well your world fam. Its a golden oldie
Welcome back Dawn! This recipe is slightly different than the other Jambalaya recipe we have on the channel! Both are delicious, this one is just easier and faster to prepare. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love these kinds of meals, too. One pot meals made at the beginning of the day is great on my busy weekend. Also I can take leftovers (if there are any) to work. Thanks again for another great recipe. 👍 ❤️ 😃
Oh my, even I can do this and eat healthy all week. This will soon be my go to. I have gotten away from all beef, chicken has to be burnt and only enjoy veggies. Thanks so much for this!
Love okra! I put in it in all kinds of things and keeping it frozen is so handy. Unless I’m eating it raw that’s where it will be. Can’t wait for mine to start growing. Simple and delicious meal right here!!
I printed out your recipe from the blog, but its different than what you are doing in your video. There’s no mention of diced tomates in cans and there’s no mention of the frozen onion bag or the frozen green pepper bag (just a mention to 2 bags of the seasoning blend). Glad I watched the video! (I’m one of those recipe followers- at least for the first time making a recipe so that I know what its supposed to taste like- then make tweaks to my own taste). Thanks!
Dillon thanks for the one pot no chop meals. Please keep them coming. On the Kale Trader Joe!s has bag kale which taste good. Thanks, hope the baby and mommy are doing well.Stay safe.☮
Great video... I love my Ruhn Kikon DUROMATIC Frying Pan - 9.5" - 2.5 quart - Stainless pressure cooker. Typically throw everything in, i.e., sweet potatoes (cubed), beans (canned), mushrooms (sliced), onions (dehydrated), minced garlic, coleslaw mix, salt and spices... 2 oz of water, heat to first line on indicator (about 5 minutes) and then shut off and let sit for 15 to 20 minutes on the burner. I cook just about everything that way.... Also, if I end up with too much liquid I just add an ounce of two of whole grain flour usually rye or wheat... soaks up all the moisture and adds a nice flavor... sort of like putting crackers in your soup but completely complaint.
Totally understandable we love our Instant Pot too! A general rule of thumb with the iPot is set it for 1/3 the amount of cooking time that it would be on the stove. Hope that helps and enjoy Gina!
I’m definitely going to try this. I don’t think I can get frozen mushrooms, onions, rice or bell peppers in my area. (Barrie, Ontario 🇨🇦), but I can always go from scratch. I don’t mind the process. Do you ship your spices to Canada? Thanks for your posts! I’m always happy to see you and Reebs in the kitchen!
Hi Jackie! You can definitely use fresh ingredients too! Unfortunately we do not ship to Canada at the moment, but we are working on shipping our cookbook to Canada. We will keep you updated! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love your "dump and go" recipes but mostly shop TJs, Sprouts and Whole Foods and am not sure where in the Los Angeles area I would find the frozen okra and the frozen seasoning blend. Could I add a cup of chopped celery to TJ's Fire Roasted Bell Peppers and Onions to sub for the frozen seasoning blend?
Hi Mara! I am so glad you like our no chop recipes! You can find frozen cut okra at Whole Foods, Walmart, and Kroger/Frys. I would check your local stores to see if they carry it. Fire roasted bell peppers and onions would be a great substitution. Hope that helps, enjoy!
Fantastic! Easy and delicious! Hey, I have that cooktop. I didn’t know you could use enamel cast iron on it! I even have the same pot. I only use it in the oven. Doesn’t it scratch your glass cooktop? LMK please. 😊
Hi Christy, stainless steel and cast iron are perfect for induction. I haven’t noticed any abnormal scratching. Although, surface scratches are normal and come with regular use. Hope that helps!
@@WellYourWorld yes! Thank you. I’m enjoying my recent purchases from your store. I’m sure to be back for more. I appreciate the free shipping! AND the excellent quality and flavor of all I bought. Thank you very much!
Made this once before a few months ago and making it again tonight. My partner RARELY makes dinner requests, but last night he said he kinda needed this again. I thought it was because he'd seen the bag of frozen okra I had in the freezer, but he said, "I ate okra? What even is it?"🤣
Brother Dillon… my bad…”Daddy Dillon” I’m trying this recipe this weekend for my weekly batch cook. Would I be wrong to add soy curls? I ordered a 3 pack from Amazon and been waiting for the right meal to add them to. Thanks for your hard work. (So we don’t have to) LOL 😂
Haha hey there Jay! There is nothing wrong with adding soy curls to your Jambalaya! Our recipes are very forgiving when it comes to omitting or adding ingredients. I have never tried it myself, but it could definitely be a great addition! I say give it a try!
Thanks for this! How timely. I'm going to make this for my father who just loves jambalaya, except he buys it at the store and it's just gross... he loves it though because he loves the flavor, yet I know store bought everything's flavor is mainly just lots of salt. Its hard to compete with this and fat, and still make it taste good -- especially for someone whose pallet is adjusted to it. 😏 does this taste salty but isnt? If you don't have date powder, what's a substitute to sweeten it? I have dates but idk if that'll work too well... Maple syrup, agave? Sugar...?
Adding salt to this dish at the table with a salt shaker is always a great way to ensure you are not over doing it! As for the date powder, you can use date sugar or blend up a couple dates just to cut the acid. Hope that helps!
@@WellYourWorld thank you. One more question Dillon -- I really loved how you broken down frozen veggie bags to basically ONE vegetable (1 frozen bag = 1 fresh veggie). This really helps. But let me ask you this -- what do you do for the water that frozen vegetables generate? If you use fresh, how much water do you need to add to compensate for what would be frozen water from the frozen veggies?

Haha can't forget the celery!!

Looks great. I’ve never eaten okra, but I’ll give this a try.
Definitely give it a try, it has a very mild flavor similar to green beans with a different texture!!
I enjoyed the editing and the dish! The fire breathing was very cute!
Thank you Randi!
