The true is the 40 was created because most, and I mean most agents failed the shooting tests. all struggled with the 10mil specially female agents. You done your homework, very detailed video, thank you.
I think the size of the Smith 1076 was more of a problem than the cartridge, since the FBI only ever issued the watered-down version of the 10, but still in the large gun. Essentially the .41 Magnum story, twenty years later; have to have a big gun for the big cartridge, no matter the power level of the specific load.
"We're all stunning and brave because we bring equality and equity to public defense" Me: You FAILED the range test. They had to dumb it down for you because you COULDN'T. You've made the public LESS safe in the name of virtue signaling because the FBI leadership couldn't look past their egos and political agendas.
@@timhallas4275 As long as it sends a 180gr bullet 1,100 fps, that's plenty for range fodder. Not like you're using Wolf for hunting or carry anyhow. Heck, 170gr at a little more like PPU would be fine too. Sig ammo has some kick if you need it, but it's expensive. Magtech/S&B are inexpensive and close to full power, about 90% if I were to assign a numerical score (based on the Norma figures).
@@Kattbirb I'm not a big fan of the "range" circuit. I have a target in my basement that I use to keep my skill honed. Seven or ten rounds, once or twice a week, and i am ready to perform. Shooting cheap, under-powered ammo for practice makes no sense to me, unless that is what you plan to use for defensive shooting. Practice with low power rounds, then reload with full power rounds and your follow up shots will be all over the place. I have learned over the years, that you carry exactly what you practice with, and you practice with exactly what you plan to carry.
10mm fan here. It is the most useful auto caliber around. I can put in hot, Norma-spec loads for field/woods carry, or I can download the power for SD carry around town. One gun, one holster, one trigger, one set of mags, one manual of arms. My current favorite is a Dan Wesson Razorback, but there are others in my past, and my future (is the Witness Polymer Match here yet?). Thanks, MAC!!!! Great video! Glad to see another 10mm lover out there!
Maaaan, I love this channel. Compared to your earlier videos, your personality has really come out much more, and your content is so much more fun and light hearted than it used to be. Keep up the good work; we all love it.
@reesej123 Russell ( Almost choking on the irony ,as I am rather outspoken for NOT being obsessed with penetration .) The * Individual * FBI test protocols are each useful in the individual context that each measures . Once again not necessarily the FBI's promogulated minimums and maximums , but as a relative measure , with a degree of relevance to actual penetration . Back in the '80s when they were developed , the FBI test*S* were Not intended to be routinely applied in total as a group . They were intended to be a smorgasbord to pick and chose only those tests of relevance and importance for their situation and requirements , and disregard the others . So in your example , concentrate upon reaults for bare and clothed gel , and little to none on auto glass and sheet metal. I may well be a statistical freak , but I do know people who engaged in gunfight with felons inside stopped to slowly moving vehicle . ( Yes , as civillian in USA) No , rifles are NOT universal with LE among the rank & file . Approaching parity with widespread patrol shotguns , but still far less than majority of patrol or front line detectives have imeadate access to any long gun .
Tony Arnott That's the only reason I'd buy a pcc/sbr anymore. I've owned some in 9mm (scorpion, kel tec sub 2k, hi point 995 and beretta cx4) and they all shoot great but imo they don't offer too much over a normal pistol. Plus they're actually pretty boring at the range at least for me lol! Now if any of those ever came out in 10mm I'd buy it 1) because I do love pcc's, and 2) because 10mm :-)
Love the 10 and became a 40 fan because the 40 became the "special" to my "magnum". I discovered quickly that I could buy cheaper 40 and run it in my Glock 20 and 29 for practice.
angryGTS. I believe Kimber still makes one. If not, I know they used to make a couple of different models in 10mm. I would have got one if it hadn't been so expensive.
In order to show my friends how much more powerful a 10mm is over their 9mm. I made separate tables for all of Underwood's 9mm and 10mm. At the bottom of the FPS and FtLb columns I told MS Excel to average the column. Well, it was a bigger surprise than I anticipated. The 10mm was almost 2X the 9mm average.
I think 10mm is one of those rounds that would benefit significantly from a long barrel. If you look at muzzle velocity charts the 10mm gets a significant increase with a 12In barrel and the weight would probably make the recoil more manageable...
@@davidjakiela9553 honestly a 6"barrel 10mm with extreme PENETRATOR rounds will pull rounds through pistol rated armor and bpg like it's not even there.

I do love and carry 40 cal and don't get offended if others talk trash about it. In fact, you wearing a glove to touch my favorite ammo was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.🤣 I do have to add, I carry Underwood ammo 155 grain xtp 1300 fps 582 ft lbs energy. I shoot it from s&w m&p full size. Ky state trooper once carried it. Found it in a gun store and had to have it. Awesome combination. Am safe in woods or streets, no doubt.
The 10mm is my favorite caliber . It is a magnum cartridge in a semi auto when you buy the good factory ammo. Deer and hog worthy. Uncle Ted swears by the 10mm.
Hogs and deer is the only reason I want one. I know people hate in High Point but for a woods gun, in 10 mil it is perfect. Durable, reliable, devastating to animals and all parts are cheap and easy replaceable. As to exspense of ammo. If it is your disgnated Deer & Hog gun and your only hunting for meat not eritication, great set up. Life time Warrenty and proven platform for 300 to 400 dollars. If they mode it for Glock mags, game over.
The reason I bought one is so I can mag dump in case a bear charges me while hunting. You can catch me walking the woods with it strapped gi style to my chest👌
Used to like .40 S&W... Until I discovered the 10mm... Then I can truly say my eyes were opened to awesomeness. Also I like how you only wore a glove to touch the .40 S&W.
i recall when that all went down. 10mm is my hands down favorite handgun load. rock island has a nice double stack that i own and now looking at springfield xdm 10mm.
Tell me more about that RIA, how's the finish hold up over time? Any rust issues? How's the reliability? Is it picky with ammo? Does it feel like a brick in the hand?
Voila, It's now 2021 and 40 short and weak is withering on the vine while 10mm is going stronger than ever!! I have a gen 4 G20 and I love it. I load for it and am deeply grateful that it takes large pistol primers in these difficult days. Thanks for the enjoyable and instructive video
@@dobber43 Double stack single feed. That's why they're a bitch to load and why the 9mm ones aren't going to be as reliable as even something like an original WW2 SMG magazine.
I carried the 1006 for a few years. It's the full size big brother to the 1076. I've always loved the 10mm. I handload 99% of my 10's now cause it's so dang expensive. The factory stuff is too watered down anyway. I run Corbon 135gr classic JHP in the 3rd gen model 20 I carry now. Huge cavity for a 135 and they expand everytime. Underwood is the only company that still loads full house 10mm. I think DoubleTap does but some have said it's iffy as far as consistency. Buffalo Bore loads some decent full house 10mm. Like yourself, I love the 10mm for it's performance and it's versatility for hunting, bullseye/silhouette shooting, and it's defensive versatility. I carry my 3rd gen model 20 appendix 365 days a year. You can't beat it for a defensive pistol. just my opinion. Some think I'm crazy to carry such a large frame high cap gun for cc, but it's not as bad as people make a full size pistol out to be. Great video MAC. Maybe the 10 will come back around. The Corbon Pow'Rball in 10mm is a nice carry load. The silver or blue glaser are some mean rounds. Check out the Magsafe rounds if you get a chance. You want to talk about speed and smack. Anyways, thanks for keepin' the 10 alive. It would be awesome to see some gel test. :)
AustrianJager The Barnes xp's are decent. I prefer a lead core bullet for carry. Federal makes a bonded soft point that makes for a mean carry bullet with certain powders. I usually load them with Alliant 2400 or Blue Dot. A lot of new powders out now days for big gains in velocity. IMR 800-x is hands down the best powder for 10mm full house loads. I've pushed 180gr bullets over 1400 fps out of a Glock 20 factory barrel and right at 1400 in a factory length lone wolf barrel. The 10mm doesn't get the praise it deserves. Good to see another 10mm fan.
glock 20 and 29. both with 40sw conversion barrels.i use to pick up 40sw brass by the bag full, back when it first came out. and nobody was reloading it. free brass for life.
actually they don't want to use firearms at all, read everyone's private documents online, and just look the other way when elite people ignore laws like Killery. They'll call in the HRT if they need someone dealt with.
It's restrictive but if you really want it you can get guns here through whats called a sports shooters licence. There's a theory and malfunction clearance test involved to get one but it's pretty easy. Once you get your permanent licence you can get any shotgun, bolt action rifle you want. Handguns and semi automatic weapons require approval from the governour but all of my requests have been approved so far so no trouble there. Storage is a given, keep away from kids and remove any component making the gun incapable of firing (removing the slide on a handgun and placing it separate suffices, removing the bolt on a bolt action and taking apart the upper and lower half of a 2 barrel shotgun placing them separately) Suppressors are illegal here though, reasoning is beyond me but, well, it is what it is.
Wow I'm surprised. Seems much less restrictive than other places in Europe. Obviously it is not nearly as liberal as it is here in the U.S. Do you think your system is better than ours? I personally would side with less government involvement like we have here.
+Daelkyr Well I wouldn't say better. We can't carry anything in public, only from and to the gun range. If someone breaks into my property and doesn't carry a gun I'm not allowed to use my gun even as a deterrent unless he uses physical violence in which case, thr judge decides if it actually was a viable last resort option, if he thinks it isn't, I'd get my shit stolen AND prison+ lifetime ban from owning and even shooting firearms. There are no national competitions aside from clay pidgeon shooting. But at least politicians are trying to get self defence gun ownership more accepted by the general ignorant sheeple here.
Interesting. Are they trying to get better self defense laws because of the recent attack you guys faced by those animals? Here in Texas if someone comes onto your property after dark without permission then you are fully able to kill them. Whether they pose a threat or not. And you are immune to being brought to civil court. We also have Stand Your Ground. Where if you reasonably believe you are in grave danger you have no duty to retreat and can use lethal force.
I know it's sad. I'm a big fan of Magnum revolver cartridges but I also enjoy shooting and reloading 45 ACP +P, 45 Super and 460 Rowland. I enjoy shooting powerful ammunition whether it be pistol or revolver cartridges. What's hurting the 10mm is plastic (polymer if that makes plastic sound less cheap...) pistols and a lack of AFFORDABLE steel frame firearms chambered for that caliber. Another problem is lack of 10mm ammo "on the shelf" that isn't expensive tartet/plink ammo which doesn't perform any better than warm 40 S&W.
danshyu Glock marketing and fanboys will claim that because it's essentially the only affordable option available to shoot 10mm. Most 10mm glock-o-holics know enough to install stronger recoil springs and in many cases replace the factory barrel with an aftermarket unit that will allow them to shoot hardcast bullets with some degree of accuracy.
The UNDERWOOD that Mac was using is cheaper than most of the "off the shelf" "weak" 10mm you find in stores! At least the FMJ and the older style Hollow Points are reasonable... Starting around $.60/rd
MEH... I have one, and the Buffalo Bore 220gr Hardcast Lead was a real handful out of the comped barrel... I bought an LWD 6.6" barrel, it shots better than the compensated barrel, and less perceived recoil! Better, but I still want to add weight somewhere to te gun. It is a real fl-weight @ 29 ounces, unloaded 0.0
@Skeeter G-19 lol you mean sigs that cost exactly the same as glocks ? XD and are u.s manufactured now? And are the official side arm of the u.s marines and military?
@@appalachianexploration5714 they literally had a bunch of issues with the guns after the chose to go with the SIG contract...main reason they picked it was because it was cheaper, not that it was better in anyway.
For a time, I carried the S&W 1006 as my choice of duty weapon as a LEO. Fell head over Heels nuts in love with it. Powerful, accurate, Devastating with proper ammo.
10mm is a shitty service round, for the same reason as the .357 SIG. Way too rough to handle reasonably. .40 S&W kicks both 9mm and .45 ACP in the ass in regards to contact pressure.
Personally I tried out all the calibers. 9,40,45,10mil. The 40 was the most powerful I could consistently accurately rapid fire. .45 and 10mil required "re-aiming" and popped the frame out of my "intuitive-zone". Knowwhatimean? Sure, if I doubled my practice with a larger caliber I could likely somewhat compensate for that. But as it stands, after a decade of using .40, it's my round. For my civilian use it works. If I lived in Alaska, I'd likely carry and practice with 10mil. If I lived with serious threat of multiple human attackers, or if I felt a (stronger) possibility of war, riots or revolution, it'd be a Hot 9. (Check back with me after November.) But for tweakers or muggers, I like my .40. I understand your historical reasons for disliking the .40. But it is more powerful than a 9 and more manageable than a 45 or 10m. Also, all the advancement made to improve the 9 also applies to all other caliber too... Just me....
from what I'm seeing, .357 Sig has better ballistics than .40 S&W and its a little lighter recoiling. I'm saying this as a viewer of tnoutdoors9's channel not of personal experience so take that with a grain of salt I guess.
@@shanescatsandcannabisfarm2965 First of all, 357 Sig is a necked hybrid of 40 S&W; whereas 380 is more analogous to a 40 S&W given that both are shorter and weaker versions (To keep with that theme, I would've compared 7.62x39 to 7.62 NATO). Secondly, in what world is a 45 ACP "stronger" than a 10mm? Lastly, why did you pick those calibers? They seem like such random choices for such an incomprehensive list.
I love it. 40 is cool. We used in deployments as well. Definitely got rid of those 9mm in our armory at the time. Most of us in the squadron like 10mm's, but we still revert to 40 since we only really needed them for under 15 feet during a patrol. Anything else, we had that answer around our shoulder. Hee hee. Just that 10mm price needs to drop before I can even come close to affording it. My M2.0 full size was only right above $400 with full range kit, bullets are hitting around .34 a round. I can't even find a decent box of 10mm here that isn't hitting around $43.00 a box of 50.
The great thing about .40 is that when the bros leave a pile of fresh cases at the range, you can pick it up and form it into .357 SIG without having to trim.
The case overall length will be too short if you form 357 Sigg out of 40 smith and Wesson! Try it and measure it I have and it’s too short! I’m not saying it won’t work because I made it work but the case length is too short!
Jerry Oooo I keep Liberty Civil Defense in my 10mm full size 1911 for home Defense. Excellent round, tested it for hydrostatic shock. It will dump all its energy in a single gallon jug of water 💦. The impact and ‘explosion’ is seriously devastating.
The .40 in its true loaded potential is an awesome cartridge, 155@1300 FPS ( Underwood ) Now the 10mm in its true potential is outstanding in the SA platform
For sure. I don't even load to the max listed by Hodgdon for Longshot and push a 180 gr bullet to 1190 fps out of my Glock 23. I also have a load with a 200 grain hard cast WFNGC that does 1020 fps with an extremely wide meplat.
Stop referring to it as .40, guy. I get that it's .40 caliber, but 10mm and .40 S&W are not even in the same league! We don't refer to 10mm by its .40 caliber designation.
I’ve always been a 357 Sig guy, and I love it. I have the chance to get a beautiful Colt Delta Elite Blued, and I must say I just fell in love with her ! I got Underwood 10mm 158g JHP and now I’m carrying my Colt Delta too. Live long to the 10mm !!
Do yourself a favor….start reloading. I haven’t bought a single thing during this latest panic. While others are scrambling to find bullets, I’ve reloading and shooting like always. I can load my 10mm for about 20¢ a round with premium components.
@@bigbore4498 the place i get my ammo is S.W. reloading supply. He finally got some in. I asked about reloading he said the components are damn near just as hard to find
@@ericspencer4599 They are hard to fine in some places. But you don’t want to buy everything all at once anyways. I probably have $4k in my set up. Not including my components. It seems like a lot. But I reload like 20 something calibers from 9mm-44mag and 223 to 375H&H. If all you have is one or two calibers, or only shoot occasionally, it might not be worth it unless you just enjoy it (which I do). In some calibers like 9mm, I don’t save a ton of money. Others I save a crap ton. The real advantage is being able to make premium quality ammo specifically tailored to my firearm to produce the absolute best accuracy (consistency), and never running out of, or having to search for ammunition in times like these. So, when everything calms down, and it will, you should consider it. But don’t buy anything right now. Prices are too high to reasonably justify it.
And they were using non-controlled expansion hp ammo which made things even worse. They would have been better off using 130gr fmj .38 mil-spec in that car battle.
No , they were carrying .357 * chambered * revolvers . But the FBI policies of the day were that the revolvers were default used with the issued .38 +P , and .357 could only be used with permission of the supervisor , only for a specific operation .
Two of the Agents actually had S&W 59’s, which were 15rd-9mm’s, but they must’ve been loaded with the W-W Silver Tip rounds that they were complaining about lacked stopping power/penetration.
One of your best videos, Tim! Laughed out loud, and learned a thing or two about 10mm... A great round, for sure, and like you, I've never liked the .40 Smith and Wesson round. Thanks for a fun and informative video!
Bravo-Zulu! Awesome Presentation. I am happy to report that after nearly 30 years of shooting I am the Proud owner of 2 10mm pistols and will be getting a 3rd one very shortly when my FFL comes in the next few weeks. My first 2 are GLocks but my 3rd will be the Sig P220 10mm Two tone or the Legion have not decided yet it will depend on which is available. Keep up the Great Work!
Back in the day the FBI made some test to determine what calibers were most effective in causing wounds and they determined it was the 357 magnum and 45 acp (which makes sense, back in the day not as much great bullet/cartridge designs and the 45 always expanded the most even till today and 357 always penetrated the most even up till today also). Later on the 10mm was made and it had the best of both worlds, it gave great penetration and expansion. While also having supersonic velocity and tons of energy which is good in hollow point ammo for putting at least a little impact on the threat letting them know they’v been shot and possibly throwing them off their best performance mentally if they are shooting also. Good 10mm ammo penetrates more than a 40 s&w (and 40’s penetrate well enough already) and expand to about 0.80 which is really amazing, underwood makes that type of ammo with gold dots and if im not mistaken federal also makes one similar (heard some good stuff about the 10mm winchester brands also but not sure).
kirk west That myth has been disproven by several different youtubers already trust me. 357 mag out of at least a 3 inch barrel performs even better than 9mm out of a 4 inch barrel when using similar weights and brand and bullet design, we are talking same diameter as the 9mm but more velocity and energy and penetration. Not even 357 sig compares to real 357 magnum ammo. If you have seen different than its because the weights and brand of ammo and bullet design was not on equal playing field.
@@Omar-if1cu when i say snubbie i mean 2".. So much velocity loss you need to go with lighter gr bullets....5 shots from my sp101 158g less than 1100fps or my sig p365 (10 rounds) of 147 at 1000fps
I heard somewhere that a big part of the love affair with.40 was that you could get .45 power with a few more shots in the mag ... if that is the case, then the .40 owners should be happy. As far as I can tell the .40 gets practically the exact same performance as .45 - and I think you can actually load .45 a hair hotter. On the other hand, the only recorded one shot bear kills I can find anywhere were .40 S&W.
You get basically 45 auto power with about double the ammo capacity in a normal pistol unless you get a double stack 45 but that's generally a lot bigger guns than a compact 40. 40 is a very useful cartridge

Love the 10mm! Yes disappointing ammo manufacturers like to down load them so much but there is a few that are decent. The problem with the Dade shooting was good guys had a like a 1% accuracy... the had plenty of 357mag bullets flying through the air as well. Also a 12ga or 2 so dont think it was a bullet or caliber problem.
hammer slammer Yeah, that’s what I was thinking when he was talking about the scenario. I remember watching a couple vids about it & was surprised that so much lead hit so few bad guys. Robert Claar I guess there's a Kriss Vector 10mm out now, but that would require a good bit of $$$. There's also the Mech Tech conversion for Glocks, but that would require touching a Glock :-)
Miguel Charles your right about the $$$, i own a 9mm vector crb gen 2 and it's loads of fun, it cost me $1000 but the 10mm variant that was next to it was going for $1860. I spent $70 on 350 rounds of 9mm, but if you count $2.40 a bullet for the 10mm i would be broke. owned a G20 10mm but had to part with it. just expensive, not that I can't afford it.
Definitely does. My husband brought down a deer at 30 yards with one. All it took was one shot. 10mm is also super versatile, depending on how many grains are in the bullet you can get a heavy slug that travels around 1k fps or a 90 grain slug going over 2k fps.
americanguy87 I have a 10mm Dan Wesson Bruin. It’s about $2,100 but a very fine pistol . If you’re a a little more budget minded but looking for a really nice 10mm pistol that’s a great choice for bear protection and set up just for what you described... check out a Kimber ‘ Camp Guard ‘ 10mm 😉 around $1,200 and very adequate in all aspects of stopping power / hunting / and defense.
9mm in the hoods, 10mm in the woods. As somebody who also lives in bear country, I am really glad 10mm is making a comeback and there's some great semiautos in it.
Certainly your opinion. However, in my opinion..... different situations/environments require different solutions. 10mil is good as a "woods" gun, or one for use in a tactical operation(if .45 isn't available) I'd rather have that than a 9mil or a .380 if that's what I'm doing. However, in public, 10 mil is a horrible caliber. Over penetration is a significant risk. Recoil is quite a bit more for less accurate and slower follow shots.
10mm is the most versatile round. Just by changing ammo you can go from something that will not go through a person to something that will go trough IIIa armor like butter. Grizzly bear defense. Subsonic rounds for suppressors. Hunting. EDC. Home defense... You name it.
@@napalmstickylikeglue Yes. So what? Just use the good ammo. The day you for some reason need to use a supressor, just use the subsonic one. You will not die by in an specific occasion using the weaker ammo. P.S.: in case your comment, that didn't make much sense to me, is referring to the "something that will not go through a person" ammo, that specific ammo is exactly the opposite of "lower power". On the contrary, it is one of the hottest, faster ones. Most high quality, high powered 105 grains lead-free hollow points fit in that category. They go extremely fast but have the lowest penetration - you know, sometimes penetration isn't something you want. That's what I meant by "versatility". With one single gun you can fit several different purposes.
I know it's an old thread but you can also do the inverse and say a 10mm approaches the 41 when the typical woods carry barrel length is 4 inches or less

Yes. 10mm is amazing and there are more and more options. I also would go even further and push .469 Rowland. That said, 10mm is diverse, from pug loads to liberty arms which literally comes within a handful of FPS of rifle velocity.
There's nothing for 10mm to come back to because it was never "here" in the first place. It's just a niche fanboy cartridge just like 460 Rowland, 40 Super, 45 Super & 400 Cor Bon. Enjoy it if you like it. I'm partial to 460 Rowland and 45 Super myself.
10mm makes me smile in ways only a woman can. The only other thing that makes me smile that way is high power weaponry like a 20mm auto cannon or even a .50 BMG destroying something.
If i had purchased my 10 in a CZ 75 b i'm sure i'd be happy . Purchased a S&W 629 44 mag for protection and love it ! Best trigger ever. Please keep up the good work.
I just shot my Glock 20 for the first time and call me tickled and impressed. Yeah it recoiled more than 9mm but next to 45ACP it had a lot less recoil to 45 and damn does it shoot smooth.

I agree with you, wholeheartedly. I love the 10mm, I think, and I just bought my 1st 10mm today: the Springfield XDM 4.5 OSP with the 5.25" threaded barrel. I have done a lot of research on this subject and I just don't care to buy a .40 S&W, like MAC, I have nothing against it, i just don't like its ballistics.
And since you brought them up , IMI actually introduced the superior .41 AE about 6 months before W-W introduced the .40S&W. . But a fire at the ammo plant in Israel delayed the shippments of the ammo , and by then the .40s&w had already locked up the market for medium-large caliber duty pistols .
I like how he said. Ya FBI had issues with the full load, its difficult if you're not an experienced shooter. I guess the FBI aren't experienced shooters.
I have watched this video about a dozen times over the past year and this alone convinced me to buy the Vector sdp in 10mm vs 9 or 45 that I am ordering tomorrow. Im super excited to have my first 10mm firearm

Me: You FAILED the range test.
They had to dumb it down for you because you COULDN'T.
You've made the public LESS safe in the name of virtue signaling because the FBI leadership couldn't look past their egos and political agendas.
That is the same reason they abandoned the 40.

The Test Protocols of the FBI are quite useful . It's the FBI's Interpretations that I frequently shake my head .
@reesej123 Russell ( Almost choking on the irony ,as I am rather outspoken for NOT being obsessed with penetration .)
The * Individual * FBI test protocols are each useful in the individual context that each measures .
( Yes , as civillian in USA)
No , rifles are NOT universal with LE among the rank & file . Approaching parity with widespread patrol shotguns , but still far less than majority of patrol or front line detectives have imeadate access to any long gun .

Tony Arnott That's the only reason I'd buy a pcc/sbr anymore.
The 10mm is making a comeback. We love the 10mm!!
I think 10mm is one of those rounds that would benefit significantly from a long barrel.
If you look at muzzle velocity charts the 10mm gets a significant increase with a 12In barrel and the weight would probably make the recoil more manageable...

EDC Glock 20 with handloaded 125grs Barnes TAC XP. LOVE ist!

I have the ONLY 10MM pistol at my range in Belgium, love the cartridge!
Really? How is Belgium on gun rights? I've never heard anything in it.
10mm Auto is so underrated these days, it's pretty much considered a hipster caliber now... Which's sad.
TOBORE8THMAN It's said that Glock 20 handles the full power 10mm auto rounds like a champ, though.
danshyu
Glock marketing and fanboys will claim that because it's essentially the only affordable option available to shoot 10mm.

The maximum gun for maximum capacity.
+Robert N I don't notice any lighter felt recoil in 357 Sig. I love it, but it's very snappy.

I love it.

I'm a man, but I have feelings too! I like my 10mm AND my .40. Seriously tho, really great video.

jmalcolmg123 but a compromise.
@jmalcolmg123 I agree
@@2bituser569 everything about a firearm is a compromise, as per Gun Jesus's teachings.
Most of the FBI agents in that shoot out had revolvers chambered in .38 Special.
And they were using non-controlled expansion hp ammo which made things even worse. They would have been better off using 130gr fmj .38 mil-spec in that car battle.
And one was blind as a bat with out his glasses, which he lost in the shoot out
No , they were carrying .357 * chambered * revolvers . But the FBI policies of the day were that the revolvers were default used with the issued .38 +P , and .357 could only be used with permission of the supervisor , only for a specific operation .
@@filianablanxart8305 The 3" S&W Model 13 was designed for them. Postal Service cops coukd get them as well
Two of the Agents actually had S&W 59’s, which were 15rd-9mm’s, but they must’ve been loaded with the W-W Silver Tip rounds that they were complaining about lacked stopping power/penetration.
10MM pistol or .357 revolver? Hmm I'll take both :)
Both have almost same ballistics
@@indranilghosh3635 depends on barrel and load
.. Out of snubby 357 has ballistics of a 9mm easy
You're damn right it's a good caliber I have a G35 gen 3 brand new with 31 round magazine it just changes the game
You get basically 45 auto power with about double the ammo capacity in a normal pistol unless you get a double stack 45 but that's generally a lot bigger guns than a compact 40. 40 is a very useful cartridge
I've owned a 1006 s&w
Since 80,s 10 mm is
My favorite I also have
Glock 20 it holds 15
In the mag, the 10 is
A great caliber, I enjoyed
Your presentation
Double Tap makes some hot 10mm rounds.
I absolutely LOVE my Colt Delta Elite in 10mm....Accurate for self defense and powerful enough for a 25 yd shot on a 6 point whitetail....thank you for all the 10mm information and ballistic testing.
I personally felt they could’ve taken a lot more from that factor than “Our rounds didn’t penetrate enough.”
It’s hard to be accurate when you’re scared shitless & that giant adrenaline dump has just slammed into your central nervous system.

Make 10mm popular again!
I carried a 40 for years, just because they didn't make a 10mm that would fit my hand. Now that the XDm-10 is out, I have remedied that. And I load mine the way a 10 is supposed to be loaded. Love it!
Glad to see 10mm ammo prices has come way down, I now have more guns in 10mm than 40s&w
I love the fact that he is so disgusted by the .40 S&W that he put on a single glove to grab it lol
I really liked this episode. I was laughing quite a bit! It was absolutely great! Entertaining and great information. Thanks again for another great share video! Have a great one and thanks for a great laugh! I needed it!
Wonder how the Underwood 10mm Extreme Penetrator and / or the Underwood Extreme Defender would perform against the body armor?
I believe that video has already been done. As well as a video done with the extreme penetrator in 10mm going through bullet proof glass.
I wish someone somone would make a 10mm carbine
Olympic arms makes a 10mm Ar carbine.
AlcoDelco Lolex hi point is making their 995 in 10mil, it might be ugly but it works.
Robert Claar they used to make a 10mm mp5
I'm looking for a semi auto woods gun. Something I can just keep on my side just in case I'm thinking the 10 mm fits the bill.
They've been used a lot recently to take down bears in Alaska, so you would be making a good choice
9mm in the hoods, 10mm in the woods. As somebody who also lives in bear country, I am really glad 10mm is making a comeback and there's some great semiautos in it.
@@fakecubed for sure, the right caliber for the right situation!
10mm all the way imo the best autoloader round
No
Certainly your opinion.
@@vladmordekeiser1054 a lower power 10mil round is nothing more than an expensive .40 S&W round.
The whole point of a 10 is power and penetration.
Damn, you handle 10mm recoil like a champ! 🇺🇸
Out of a 6" + barrel, the 10 does in fact, approach the .41 mag.
I know it's an old thread but you can also do the inverse and say a 10mm approaches the 41 when the typical woods carry barrel length is 4 inches or less
My 180 gr xtp loads are over 1500 FPS at 900 foot lbs. the 155 loads with blue dot powder are at 760 ft lbs. both of these loads can go hotter in the KKM barrel
You're smoking crack the 41 Magnum is an excessive 1100 ftlb of energy 10 mm is nowhere near that
@@stuckcase7775 that's nice 41 magnum is 1,550 feet per second with a 210 grain and 1135ftlb of energy 10 mm ain't nowhere near close to 41 magnum 41 magnum with higher grain rounds get north of 1200ftlb of energy
Love the 10mm, but it’s not in the same league as a 41mag or 44 mag. With proper loads it’s maybe10% increase over 357mag.
President Underwood personally approve of this ammo.
I truly love my ppq 40.Cant miss out to 35yrds.That being said,This was one of the best, most entertaining, videos I have seen from MAC.I will never understand how people can be offended by facts!
Nice to see the underwood 200 grain featured as I currently have over 100 rounds on hand.
This is one of my favorite videos. Thank you for the history and testing you provided. I especially appreciated you testing the 40 s&w out of a 10mm pistol.
Is 10mm coming back? I am really starting to like the caliber and am considering getting a gun chambered in it.
I think so. And I would highly recommend it honestly, I have a Glock 20SF chambered in that, and absolutely love it.
Yes. 10mm is amazing and there are more and more options. I also would go even further and push .469 Rowland. That said, 10mm is diverse, from pug loads to liberty arms which literally comes within a handful of FPS of rifle velocity.
We 10mm fanboys were a small group waiting for it's demise in the '90's. Happy to see it's probably now more popular than ever by a lot.
Enjoy your 460 Rowland while you can. The 45 super? Definite maybe. The 10mm is still growing in popularity. Like the round or not.
10mm makes me smile in ways only a woman can. The only other thing that makes me smile that way is high power weaponry like a 20mm auto cannon or even a .50 BMG destroying something.
I like both 40 s&w & 10mm.
MAC I'd like to see the full power 10mm loads out of the glock 29. wonder how much velocity will be lost
I carry a Glock 29 as my backup gun. I love 10mm.
Love the caliber, hate the price
If i had purchased my 10 in a CZ 75 b i'm sure i'd be happy . Purchased a S&W 629 44 mag for protection and love it ! Best trigger ever. Please keep up the good work.
Just once I’d like to watch a 10mm vid without the Miami shooting story.
rob kober or someone mention a 40 sw
It's the history behind It, what can ya do
If it wasn't for the Miami shootout most folks would have never heard of a 10mm.
Nah , I was well aware of the 10mm before that .
As my father told me growing up, "Have the right tool for the right job." Waiting to get my Glock 40 which will be my archery side arm.
I just shot my Glock 20 for the first time and call me tickled and impressed. Yeah it recoiled more than 9mm but next to 45ACP it had a lot less recoil to 45 and damn does it shoot smooth.
MORE!! Lol. Working on a 10mm ar build we share a love for 10mm and distain for .40 s&w. But more 10mm videos are always welcome.
Thankfully the agencies are ditching the .40 S&W, more LE trade ammo for me!
Those round sucks so bad I had sum for my 9mm Smith and Weston and I had jam UPS all the time
wait,
you hate the .40 short and weak so much you have to handle it with a latex glove?
lol...
that is is some powerful hate right there. : )
I'm sure it's to try to draw comments
He's kind of a over macho lil bitch sometimes.
What exactly are we waiting for?
No he just got soft girly hands which is the real reason he doesn't like . 40 it takes a real man to own one. And not some made up TH-cam gun guy, laytex gloves COMONMAN !!!!
Wow the butt hurt up in here is pretty laughable. He gave a good reason for the dislike and it only had to do with replacing a superior round. Sit on an ice pack for awhile.
What do you think of the .357 SIG?
I agree with you, wholeheartedly. I love the 10mm, I think, and I just bought my 1st 10mm today: the Springfield XDM 4.5 OSP with the 5.25" threaded barrel. I have done a lot of research on this subject and I just don't care to buy a .40 S&W, like MAC, I have nothing against it, i just don't like its ballistics.
IWI should make a Jericho 941 in 10mm. I've contemplated making a custom on a Jericho 45acp frame.
Is it any coincidence that the badass pulse rifle in the movie Aliens fires 10mm?
10MM caseless if I recall correctly. And 99 of them in a mag!
they're actually Thompson sub machine guns modified to look futuristic.
Mya Elbows Thompsons with a Remmington shotgun barrel underslung, with a body kit... yes
Actually think it's a SPAS-12
Mya Elbows You may be correct. I know you can get body kits for thompson if you actually want one.
I like how he said. Ya FBI had issues with the full load, its difficult if you're not an experienced shooter.
I guess the FBI aren't experienced shooters.
IIRC it was due to women being unable to handle the loads.
I have watched this video about a dozen times over the past year and this alone convinced me to buy the Vector sdp in 10mm vs 9 or 45 that I am ordering tomorrow. Im super excited to have my first 10mm firearm
