Hi - Thank you for the video. I was planning to go around Sep 25 of this year. I am wondering if you can comment on:
    - Which trail would you recommend to take?
    - Is it advisable to go on the hike alone without being part of a guided tour? The tours seem to be rather expensive
    - Is it reasonable to do the hike in one day?

We hiked it five years ago and I am not sure how access has changed since then. We did see some solo hikers, but as we were after the hiking "season" for the first 3 hours, we did not see anyone on the mountain. All of the stations were closed, so do not expect any services on the mountain -- this includes restrooms. We took the Fujiyoshida trail. I do not know the other trails. If you are in shape, you can do it in a day.... we did. You need to start early. I think we started from the lodge about 6:00 a.m. You need to take food and water. There is NOTHING available on the trail as everything is closed. We saw workers on the mountain, but they did not question our presence. Now, however, it may be tighter security for getting on the trail. You might read this if is from last month: www.countryhighpoints.com/mount-fuji/
Also, take a GPS in case you run in to fog/clouds so you can find your way. I use a hiking app on my phone.

Hi - thank you for the off-season video upload!
Planning an off-season hike in the next few weeks also!
    I had a few questions:
    - Driving up to and parking at the 5th station wasn't an issue since it was offseason?
    - Did you and your family rest for an hour to acclimatize at the 5th station or did you just park and walk straight up?
    - Toilet issues hiking up?
    Thank you!
Your video has been extremely helpful in preparing me for an off-season september hike. Thank you for uploading

Christopher, thanks for the comment. No -- parking was no issue. We went on a Tuesday so there were fewer folks. We did not see anyone else on the trail for the first two hours. We did not rest for an hour. It look us about 30 minutes to get geared-up and then left. We had trained over the summer with three hikes to 10,000 feet though. We went to the restroom before we left and everyone was OK up and back until we got back to the 5th station. Here are still photos from the hike: www.flickr.com/photos/act98006/albums/72157698327135442

Thanks for the video... I wanna ask a few question. Since it's technically not allowed to hike off season, So is there are ranger or simmilar watcher who are gonna caught people if they are busted on hiking trail?
And are there gonna be bus going to and from tokyo and the 5th station on off season (april)??

Alvino, When we went we just walked around the barrier to the trail. Now, with COVID I am not sure what is in place to prevent folks from accessing the trail.
