Hi, this is THE video I`ve been waiting for. I allways fancied a Draco since it`s release but wondered what it would be like as an tug. Shame it doesn`t have a tow release from the factory as some competitors do. Let us know how she does with an 4m Scale glider behind.
HEY your getting quite good at this video lark. A real pleasure to watch and informative just one question who is the good looking guy flying the glider 😂
Excellent video. Quite a few mods though to make towing viable with this fairly expensive BNF/PNP. What's the risk the towline with foul the space between rudder and vertical stab? Is it worth mitigating with a wire hoop or similar? Almost gets caught at 12'02"
We added a wire guide on the leading edge of the fin on our Multiplex FunCub XL towplane that works just great for this purpose - just haven't gotten around to fitting one on this aircraft yet. I also think this foamie is a bit dear - good job it was a present as I would probably not have bought such an expensive kit for myself !
We put a weak link on both ends of the cable in case of this eventuality. In general, we find it better to land with the cable (carefully) as it gets less tangled this way

Thanks, and thanks for flying the glider for us - yes it is me and me again as the mini-pilots in the Draco and glider 😄
How did you create such and accurate drawing to 3D print the mold? Did you 3D scan it or measure and draw free hand?
I drew the 3D model in Google Sketchup, measuring a servo carefully to make the servo mount. It wasn't too hard to do.

Release of the cable before landing highly recommended. Very easy to catch a weed on finals and pull your plane out of the sky😢
