    Few gliders over 30 years ago. My Sig Riser was very strong in the center joint. So, I could walk back the high start until I could barely hold the plane. Then on launch I could hold just about max elevator with the Riser going just about STRAIGHT up until it would pivot out over the ground connection point. To detach, I would give a quick down elevator blip to achieve the release. Depending on wind the glider would be 500 + feet up.

    Hey Zach, I just came across this channel recently from some Instagram videos I saw. I knew you sounded familiar. My father and I met you all the way back in 2016 at Flite Fest when I was only 13 years old. It’s really great to see that you are still doing fun shit with rc planes. These videos are really great, keep up the good work!

      Thanks, Ben! Small world. My philosophy has and always will be that in order to stay young in this hobby, we’ve gotta enjoy the hobby for what it truly is…flying toy airplanes. 😁 -Zach

    I'm a programmer and I want to program some planes to follow a master rc plane. Basically you fly one plane and have like 6 more automatically fly with you in formation. I only have 2 planes and don't have time or money to code it. Plus I don't have any rc friends where I live. Lol.

    Amazing video but might I ask why you make your turbo timber a 2 blade instead of the 3 asking because I have recently put a 5 blade on mine

    • @Catofbaskerville
      @Catofbaskerville 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      from my own experience 2 blade are much more efficent then 3 ore 5 blade the main reason you put more blades on your plane to have a smaller overall prop

    • @TailHeavyProductions
      @TailHeavyProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Full details are in our Timber Bush and 3D Flying video description, but ultimately, yes, the 2 blade is more efficient and gives the punch out and power to weight I want with better flight times. -Zach

    • @SunriseRCAviator
      @SunriseRCAviator 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TailHeavyProductions Yet I always prefer the three bladed prop on the TT Evo over the two bladed on the Timber X planes. Less noise and vibration.

    • @TailHeavyProductions
      @TailHeavyProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @LAPEOS RC Vibration comes from stuff not being balanced, not the number of blades on the prop. Otherwise, it’s all personal preference. My experience flying the Timbers since the OG came out and in 2016 has led to using a more efficient prop with more diameter and less pitch. The result is taking more of a bite of the air for better performance and punch out with longer flight times. -Zach

    • @SunriseRCAviator
      @SunriseRCAviator 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @UCFSGJB6MnGn2NHOXApZsSQQ I have yet to encounter an unbalanced three bladed prop but two bladed often can get noisy over time.

    Was the bike tow just full throttle on the bike or did you try to keep it under a set speed? Been wanting to try it for awhile now I finally got someone to tow me up but scared if I tell them to just punch it it’ll overspeed the glider

      Glide Outside the Box! 😁 We wanted to make some phases of flying gliders (the launches and landings primarily) more entertaining as bread for the sandwich whose meat is casual lower paced thermal circle flying. The relaxing flying is great sometimes too, but if we can supplement it with unique fun stuff around it, it makes it that much better. 💯 -Zach
