    Straps to lower the fuel tank. Simple and BRILLIANT! I have been reading up on ideas on how to man handle the job and all seem to 'over-engineer' the project. Your method is perfect! Thanks for the inspiration!

    I got one of my 2 25 gallon tanks down yesterday, still one to go. Think I will switch to the ratchet straps for the other one and see how that works out. Great info Rufus N Dufus. Thanks for the insight.

    You got the right idea, --- I am pulling one at present and I have the smaller straps and used 4 smaller straps which is easier to handle. I also double my straps as I am putting them on, - I mean I put the strap up to hook up an then run the strap over the other side -- and back through the hook loop, and then you have double the leverage and easier to handle! Glad you figured the straps out! much easier and as you say - one person can do it! Thanks, and glad you got it running!

    The straps are a great way to do that. I did it with jacks on a car and didnt feel safe. I also did it twice. Once with some gas in tank and once with no gas. I found it easier with some gas in the tank as it raised back up and stayed in position better because of the weight. Love the videos Chico , keep them coming.

    I feel like a complete idiot but how do you manage a controlled descent with ratcheting straps. once you release they would drop like a rock? Maybe two straps on the rear? Have one a little loose then release the one holding the weight and switch that up until you get down to where you need???

    Question: This video doesn't address the fill line and vent. I would have thought that those lines would need disconnected, and presume not since they not addressed. Is that the typical case? I'd like to change the fuel pump in my 2000 Ford E450 Gulf Stream. Thank you.

    If its older like my 76 dodge Minnie Winnie. I was told replace mechanical pump. Did that still no gas. Is the sending in the tank responsible for pumping as well?

    Rufus I am glad I came accross your videos. I needed to drop my Motorhome 53 gallon fuel tank down and Had 40+ gallon of fuel in it and did not have the sources to empty it. I had 2 3000 lb. straps and was able to easily drop the tank down so I could replace the generator fuel line. Again thanks to you I was able to accomplish the easily and safely without spilling fuel or having to empty it out.

    if you ever have to drain one of those tanks you can use the pump to drain it by turning key on an disconnecting fuel line an placing it in recovery container ( not in that order though ). you can send me a friends request if you have any further mechanical questions

      Could be a bad Computer, I had the same issue with my Ford van replaced everything from rotor caps spark plugs etc and it kept backfiring I couldn’t figure it out, so decided to try a different computer and that fixed the issue.

    • @vincethrill457
      @vincethrill457 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any backfire through the intake is going to be electrical issue, anything through the exhaust is a fuel issue. I would check the distributor cap for a crack, corrosion, etc. if you haven't solved the issue yet. Then check the plug wires and plugs, then computer.

    I think you need to rethink selling that unit. If you get a smaller class C, you may have to go thru all this crap again. And I am not sure a class C is going to get much better mileage. Maybe a class B would. But used rigs have issues and getting thru them all is a chore. But with Guz you have done most of the fixes (just watch your old videos !). Just my two cents.
