  • AEV designs their 2.5" DualSport Suspension to specifically match your vehicle & engine combination, taking into account differences between the 2 door & 4 door Wrangler as well as the Gas or EcoDiesel engine options. Each kit includes springs, shocks, bump stop extensions, and geometry correction brackets to keep the front axle within factory alignment specifications. In this video Rob is continuing the build up of Matt's 3.0L EcoDiesel equipped JL Rubicon by installing the suspension along with a set of Borah Wheels & Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T Tires.

    What about front track bar?

    I was hoping to see someone do this on the Gladiator and give a proper review, as its the lift that caught my eye the most. I'm also curious as to how they do for an "overlanding" build, like how well does it handle the all that extra weight. I don't necessarily plan on doing heavy duty rock crawling, but I was planning on putting 37s on, and from all the sources I've seen, they recommend 4.88 gearing or possibly 5.10s (due to the fact I have a manual JT). Speaking of which I would love to see something on a Centerforce (or any other brand) clutch upgrade for manual JTs.

    I have the AEV DualSport on my 2021 2-door Rubicon. I had the installer do an alignment and he said they were unable to get the front axle centered properly. I found that the handling was a bit "darty". I added a JKS adjustable front track bar and had it re-aligned after installation. Now it handles and rides perfectly! Might be different on a 4-door, but the 2-door installation really needed the adjustable front track bar.

    The linked lift kit isn't designed for the diesel according to their site, it only lists compatibility with the 3.6 and 2.0 motors. You need to purchase the XP lift kit if you have a diesel.

  • @robertrose2632

    What are the part numbers (that are printed on the springs) for the front springs for the diesel and the gas 3.6? Or can you tell me if NTHSPRG31325A is for the gas or diesel? Thanks!

    I hope people start doing a disclaimer that if your using beadlock wheels as true beadlocks that they aren't DOT compliant and if you run into any cops or state troopers that know this they could get a decent sized ticket. Would be helpful for other to know that. There are DOT compliant wheels out there, like the new Icon Rebound Pros. Great videos like always other than that👍

    • @offroad-adventure
      @offroad-adventure ปีที่แล้ว

      These are DOT compliant when run as beadlocks. Clearly stated on AEV's website.

    • @bryantwhittaker6086
      @bryantwhittaker6086 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Offroad Adventures ok, should have clarified... Not DOT compliant for "street use"... Beadlock wheels inherent nature of needing to be maintained make it where many states don't see traditional beadlock wheels with the rings as street legal.

    Might I ask on a related topic the recommended approach to rotate the tires on a Jeep. Do you simply go front to rear and rear to front? Or, do you X the rear to front and go straight back with the front to rear? Thanks.

    • @Tnapvrvideo
      @Tnapvrvideo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think your 6 to 10 rotation schedule sounds ideal. You have the tools and ability. I personally favor the X to front and sliding the fronts back as the best way to maintain an even wear. Thanks for your reply.

    Essentially same thing I want to go with. I’ve got a 2021 diesel rubicon gladiator. Want to go with the same size tire and wheels with the 2.5 AEV. So this video was perfect to see the clearance as apples to a 3.5” from Metalcloak.
    My question you ask. I have 4.10 gears. Some say I should have to re-gear and others say I don’t as it’s mainly a DD with the odd overlanding weekend.
    Thoughts?

      Throw on the lift and tire and see how that goes. I have the same ride and planning on the same thing. People's opinion varies so just do it and see how you like it.

    • @BLKXJ96
      @BLKXJ96 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you plan to go with a 37" inch tire a 4.56 gear is a good option. Not mandatory but saves some wear and tear on the drivetrain turning the weight and size of those bigger tires.

    • @justinjess7776
      @justinjess7776 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have 37's on my gasser Gladiator and have no power issues as far as gearing. I also have the 4:10. Definitely needed a front adjustable track bar to center the axel, so keep that in mind if it's not included.
