  • For those seeking to improve the driving experience and correct the front geometry while adding 2.5" of lift to their Jeep Wrangler JLU, AEV offers the Dualsport XP 2.5" premium suspension lift.
    Improving ride quality, correcting pinion and driveline angles while introducing more anti-dive by moving the vehicle's instant center are just some of the science behind what makes AEV an OE-level suspension. One of the biggest factors in differentiating the DualSport XP from other offerings is the AEV-tuned Bilstein 8100 reservoir shocks with triple rate springs. Better high-speed capabilities with more resistance to bottoming out and improved ground clearance and more articulation with increased up and down travel.
    This is relatively easy installation and you should give yourself 3-4 hours to do this with basic hand tools. Power tools will improve your install time dramatically.

    In the video, I cover how I completed the installation on my Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with the means and skills I have. See what I did and figure it out for yourself or when in doubt get it installed by a professional.

    DEAR SIR, I HAVE WATCH A GREAT MANY INSTALLATION OR TRAINING MANUALS ON YT, AND THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST I HAVE "EVER" WATCHED! NOT FLUFF, STEP, BY STEP, CONCISE AND NOT A BUNCH OF USLESS BS! KUDOS!

      I tried to make this the instruction manual I wanted, but it's not necessarily the kind of content that is most rewarded by the YT algorithm. More entertainment centric is typically better rewarded but I did cut a lot of fluff, so I appreciate your observations and comments.

    Wow ~ I hate you but love you man! Great Vid on the AEV lift and Geo Brackets. I have turned some wrenches in my day, but your videos convinced me to install the AEV RT 2 1/2" Lift. Completed the rear, and installed the Geo brackets today. Will take care of the front springs and shocks tomorrow. Big thanks for your vids, it was a great help as otherwise I would have paid someone to install. Working with just jacks and floor stands but we are getting er done. TY!

    This is probably the best video I’ve ever seen on this lift!!! Been saving for this for a while, but I’m getting the 5100 shocks, on there website they come with dual rate springs are they the same ones your talking about?

      I appreciate the kind words and as someone who appreciates the work put into AEV's products by their team I am certainly going do my best to showcase their handy work.

    I tried mine without the geometry brackets but really needed them for the nasty bumps and heavy braking. They made a big difference after I installed them. Lower adjustable control arms didn’t give me the comfort and control on big bumps. I wonder if I should of dial in more caster. Too late the geometry brackets are in place and staying.

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They should absolutely stay for the exact reasons you said. As the vehicle is lifted, the short arm arc will continue to change amount of force needed to move the axle not only up but forward also creating that harsh ride. If you have the AEV Geometry Correction Brackets, they have a cam for the upper arm adjustment which should allow for more or less caster with the standard stock arms. I cant account for other brand brackets which may not have that adjustability. Check out the video on the AEV brackets here - th-cam.com/video/7kcJxpxaMpE/w-d-xo.html

      @@exhaustinglife I don’t know how some jeep owners claim their rigs have good control over bad bumps at speed like standard after a lift without the geometry brackets. Even with 2.5 inch lift mine was not good even with extended adjustment on the lower control arms at 24.250 inches on the JL with low mileage. I see a lot of jeeps without the brackets. Am I missing something or do they except the way it is without the brackets and don’t know about them. Is it the larger tyres they use with lower air pressure compensating for the control arms on a angle who knows. Just to get to the tracks is a 2 hour drive. The geometry brackets have to stay on and cop the hits if they don’t clear the rocks. Better to have to change the brackets again if needed then loose control and crash which I nearly did after hitting multiple bad bumps at the speed limit around a bend. I went back to this bend at a faster speed with the geometry brackets and it was nice. Bump steer now is gone, 100% cured. I’m going 20km/h faster where I was getting bump steer and now nothing. Adjustable track bars was already fitted front and rear.

    I have JL370 and noticed my rear axel is off center (more to passenger). Did you find your rear axel off-center after install?

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The front uses the factory track bar and drag link, so it sits slightly off center, but the rear is dead on with the track bar relocation bracket.

    Great video! Can you tell me what size tire that is? Stock 33"? Thanks in advance!!!

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it's the stock wheel and tires for the Rubicon. BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 in a size 285/70R17 which is approximately a 33" tire (actual 32.8" x 11.2")

    Without heavy winch bumpers does it ride ok or a little on the stiff side?

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not at all stiff. The combination of the triple rate spring and XP81000 AEV tuned shock provides a good comfortable and predictable street driving experience thanks to the improved geometry, but it doesn't sacrifice great off road preformance for which it is primarily designed. They actually make different spring rates to specifically ensure the right performance for payload and comfort for heavier loaded vehicles so as not to be overly firm (high capacity option)
      Since AEV is an OEM upfitter, the amount of testing they must do is not matched by most aftermarket companies. From thermal, corrosion, and even electronic stability control compliance, their offerings are truly designed around their consumers' needs and OEM compatibility. th-cam.com/video/AZThGp_ti8k/w-d-xo.html

    Have you ever installed the AEV DualSport XP lift on a two door Rubicon?

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not. Only the Jeep featured on the channel. I am not a shop just an enthusiast with some resources.

      @yulianalazovskaya5331 I am in the market and am looking to run 35s and 2.5 inch lift. How has it been on the road and highway? I have a two door JL Rubicon.

  • @Gobi-Wan
    @Gobi-Wan ปีที่แล้ว +1

    does this work on 22 JT? Rubicon?

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  ปีที่แล้ว

      AEV has a specific kit for the JT Gladiator that is different from the JL/JLU Wrangler. Spring rates and some minor installation steps are different but keep in mind that the Wrangler and Gladiator are very different in how they manage load and dampening. AEV takes that in consideration with each design and it should be noted that the JT Mojave is not included in JT applications.

    How long did the suspension install take?

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The complete AEV 2.5" kit with geometry correction brackets and 8100 Bilsteins should take 4-6 hours at a leisurely pace in a bind garage. This took me 2 days while filming so it's a straight forward DIY friendly install.
