My heart dropped and jumped with joy at the same time the moment I realized she knew her name 🥹

UPDATE: Princess has been ADOPTED! I found the Princess update on your website. Great news!
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾 That's awesome!!! Thanks for the update🤗🤗🤗
YAYYYY
yayyyyy!!
Great news!!
Is the update behind a paywall?
I’ve had 54 German Shepherds and rescued over 2,000. This girl is a keeper!
You've had a very happy life :)
Thanks Cynthia, I certainly have.
And I'd guess that when you first started, you had no idea what that would lead to!
One of my top life's goals. Thank you for that. Thank you for taking care of these sweet angels.
Wow! Good work! I hope the family pick her up. Lovely dog
It hurts my heart that an 8 yr old girl is given up.. poor baby.. what a sweet girl
No way she's 8. 4 - 5 max. Had GSDs all my life. She's a stunner.
@@Proliniumshe’s definitely older than 5. Her legs just work still
8 dog years is not a little sweet girl, more like a primed, middle aged woman
Her little face @3:04 is the saddest! 🥺 So glad he came to visit her for a bit.
@@Prolinium- most people have a vehicle all their life, doesn't mean they know anything about them 🤣
I adopted the male version of Princess, whose family just left him on the hot Houston streets in June. I don’t understand how anyone can abandon such loving, sweet pups. I reassure him everyday, many times a day, that he is forever safe & will never be alone on the streets again, etc. His reaction is priceless; he just melts.
To be honest, if anyone is capable of abandoning a pet they're just as likely to be as evil to kids. Same mindset. Seriously sick.
Yep, never trust a single person who mistreats animals @@Prolinium
Some people lose their homes. Other people go into the hospital.
@@kathleen1685 Still your responsibility. If my dog don't eat and is cared for, then I don't eat.
Thank you!
She's very interested in her collar. Her nose, eyes and ears lit up when she saw it. She actually looked hopeful.
It might be a sign of going for a walk in her previous life. Some people don't have their dogs wear collars in the home and only when going for a walk

She recognized her collar. lol. I noticed that right away. She's beautiful, intelligent and interested.
Her little face when they said it's been two days and no call back. It's like she knows her family isn't coming for her. Just a dagger to the heart. So grateful to learn she's been adopted, Mr Kanaka you are a living Saint!!!
You’re right. Her expressions in that moment were just heartbreaking. Such a sweet gentle face and then overcome by that sadness 😭
Sounded like she gave a little whine when they said two days with no call back
Oh my heart 😭💔
Why did they abandon princess 😭
Young man there is not enough letters or words in our language that even comes close to express how special you are. Spell dog backwards God unconditional love. Thanks for sharing your wings and halo with all you come in contact with and all you wish you could.
You can see sadness in her eyes. Im so happy to know shes been adopted ❤
The sadness in her eyes is completely photo-shopped into the thumb.
@@AncientEgyptArchitecture Whats wrong with you? You`re one of the pathtetic people leaving pets on the street "cause they got no feelings, duh"?

Her eyes looked so sad. She looked traumatized.
Maybe the picture is possibly photoshopped but the video is not. She is very clearly sad. Especially in the beginning of the video. @0:26 , 3:03 , and 8:46 are all good examples of her obvious sadness@@AncientEgyptArchitecture
German Shepherds are my very favorite breed. Have had 7 over the years. 4 had been abused. 1 a friend had to give up. 1 was kept in a kennel in a small apartment. Last one was from a shelter. 3 were males 4 females. I liked the females better to train. Males were stubborn. I trained them myself. Even hand commands. I am 80 years old, and health issues keep me from adopting another one. That makes me sad. God bless you all for being so good to these poor babies. ❤
If there’s a shelter accessible to you, I hope you consider asking if there’s a way you can help. Obviously that’s not always possible for everyone, but if it is possible, I know they could benefit from your experience. 💜
When you leave this earth (not too soon, hopefully), your welcome into Heaven will be enviable. ❤️
Thank you for saying that. I know that Jesus has made it possible. God Bless.
Bless your beautiful soul!
I foster for a rescue in Michigan. We get dogs trucked up to us from Arkansas and we rarely know their real name. I had a black lab who just always seemed depressed. I took him to a party and explained to the group that we dont know his real name. They started shouting out random names. My cousin shouts "Bear?", he spins around with the happiest look on his face and in that second he was a different dog. He was so happy to be called by his name. It brought tears to my eyes.
its 'phonetic' for sure. when i name new dogs i see what sound they react to :)
How can I get an invite to a party like this?
Arkansas is ground zero for stray dogs. I live here and it is maddening 😕
@@EmersumBiggins but free dogs! in europe nowadays we often have to pay hundreds just for a rescue dog cos of passports and chips etc :)
So is Missouri, it's horrible in the Midwest for sure and it seems we have the least amount of resources available, and laws that never get enforced or just plain don't exist. Rescue is so different in other places than it is here. We're literally drowning in dogs and there's not even one single spot for anymore with wait-list a mile long and the some.
How in God's name could anyone abandon this beautiful German Shepherd? I would be honored to have her.
Doesn't say she was abandoned. She could have gotten out.
Same
Sadly Cal kill shelters are overflowing with GSDs just like her.Ive been rescuing and rehoming them for 14 yrs. and Im in Ontario Canada. The good thing is this is a good shelter not like Devore or Riverside and Rocky is helping get some of these.dogs seen...Its Heartbreaking 😢
Thank God 4 Rocky
Why are there so many in California? Texas seems to be another state horrible for Shepherds.
These techniques, with modification, also work with feral or abused horses.
Animal psychology - dovetailing with empathetic human learning - have made tremendous differences in saving horses in the last ten years. Good work, Rocky.
It’s funny I was thinking the same thing. Some body language is just universal no matter what the species, and empathy is always necessary ❤
Ugh… I don’t know how you do it. I burst into tears the moment I go into a shelter. All of our dogs are shelter dogs… so every time it’s such a trauma, I end up feeling so sad for all the others and wish so much I could take them all home with me… Dogs are the best. Thank you for doing this for them. God only knows what that sweet girl has been through.
Me too .I am crying like a baby 😢 these poor dogs just want love ❤️
❤
I have always been so allergic to dogs but I could never spend thousands on a dog when so many sweet pups are available for a small fee, plus with the puppy stage over, what a deal.
Thank you for adopting your babies even though it’s hard for you ❤️
I cared for my son’s dog after he passed away. I never replaced her collar because it was an emotional attachment to him, for me. It was a cheap Star Wars collar he bought when she was fairly young. When she passed recently (4 years after him) it was in pretty bad shape. So, even a ratty collar does not indicate the amount of love for a dog as she was loved beyond measure.
The look on her face when she sees her own collar. She loves her family.
I noticed that too. She looked happy to see her collar
😭😭💔
Yup. It was an instant "hey that's mine". Best of luck to this sweet dog
A look like: 'Are we going for a walk?'
She probably thought she was going home. Bless her. 🙏🏻🐕🐾
Such a crying shame for any breed but Shepherds, more than any other breed NEED their owners once the pup has bonded with its owner.....They're one of the most loyal & loving breeds out there....I'm not gonna lie, they can be testing & challenging but highly rewarding! I love mine to absolute bits!
@navnig
I had a shepherd mix , and I agree , they need lots of interaction physically and mentally , but it's all worthwhile with the close bond and absolute loyalty and love you get .
I'm glad she didn't go back to the original owners. Something happened there that shocked this dog in a very hurtful way.
Or maybe it was getting chased down by Animal Control and thrown in a cage with hundreds of other dogs barking around her.
Maybe she's a digger. Are her nails worn? Could be owners just gave up on her. Chip is a calling card if dog causes trouble when out exploring. Caution is recommendable if the owners are worried and fines are so bad
I love watching her expressions while she watches him "talk to himself" ...so curious as to what is happening lol
I had a beautiful German Shepherd. How I wish she was still with me.
My thoughts exactly Jessica ........ beautiful soul is wondering "who is this guy talking too" ♥️♥️
I often wonder what animals think about us talking on the phone. Lol
Very expressive dogs, the really talk to you through their facial expressions
I’ll never understand how people can give up a dog they’ve had for years. I always feel so bad for senior dogs 🥺
Maybe an elderly owner dies, a child has severe allergies or special needs and sadly they can't keep the dog. Or they fall on hard financial times. Stuff happens. Owners go to jail, have health crises.
@@FigaroHey Yeah, of the many pets my family has had, the only three who had been previously owned for years were 1 owner death, 1 owner severe illness, and 1 where the family was forced to live in a tiny apartment.
@@FigaroHey Financial hardship is no excuse to surrender a dog to a shelter. I was unemployed long term and my worry was having to go back to my parents who wouldn't allow my cat in their house (mom is a pathological clean freak). I had arrangements for her to be tenporarily rehomed with a friend of my Nan , in the end I found a job and I could keep her with me but a shelter? That was out of the equation.
@@MeritxellFarre unfortunately some of the people i meet that have pets don’t really have people they can rely on take care of their little guy, sometimes they will ask for short term help and get no response.
@@MeritxellFarreFinancial hardship is definitely a good reason to give up an animal. ESPECIALLY ONE YOU CANT ADEQUATELY PROVIDE FOR. Don't be ignorant to how the real world works
Our boy Beau is a German Shepherd we adopted 3 years ago when he was 4 years old & abused,
malnourished you name it. We always adopt ( they adopt us) from shelters & Beau is our sweet dog who never saw a rabbit, kitty, or any type of wild animal so when he sees a rabbit he starts to roll on the grass as if to say come play with me. God Bless You For Sitting with the Fur Babies🙏🏼
gsd is not hunting breed as terriers......these are working dogs and quite intelligent not interested chasing rabbit or squirrel.....they are born this way
@@barbararohl3299 I have to differ with you. We had a GSD for 3 1/2 years that we inherited from our son when he moved to Singapore. He LOVED chasing squirrels. Our neighbor used to text us when he saw squirrels on his bird feeder. We would go to the door, open it and say "Mauser. Squirrel!" No matter what he had been doing his new mission was to chase those squirrels.
Aww . . . that's adorable! ❤️
She's such a beautiful dog! She seems so good natured. It's hard to see all these dogs and know some of them aren't going to make it.

thank you for this time stamp
not all heros wear capes
The dog's reaction to the collar was cute. She recognized it and looked optimistic
Hi my friend how are you doing today
6:49 for people who see the comment before the scene
The dog's home was probably somewhat loving. But most people don't know how to train basic commands let alone mentally and physically exhaust a German shepherd. It's just too much dog for 90% of people that get them. Like I can teach any dog to sit and lay down in under ten minutes and I don't want a German Shepherd because it's too much dog for me.
@dannible. My family in the Caribbean has one as a guard dog and he’s absolutely amazing and highly intelligent. I’m happy he and his partner in crime (a huge mixed breed dog) have lots of space where they can run around as walking dogs isn’t really a thing in the Caribbean, unless you live in an apartment. But you really need a property with a lot of space if you’re not walking them or else they can go crazy - just like intelligent humans confined in a small area.
Oh wow…I must be such a softy…immediately…I got tears in my eyes. I can’t imagine my dogs having to go through this…but, if they ever had to…Heaven forbid…I would want someone like YOU to take care of them until I rushed to get them! Wow. My heart is swelling as I watch this!
What a sweet, beautiful girl! I can't believe people leave their dogs like that :(
She is beautiful! I would freak out if my dog went missing for 5 minutes! Can’t wait for an update and as always, thank you ALL!
I, would freak out over any of My Fur Babies, got out or worse " lost!"
Me too, even if I know our pets are wandering around inside the house if I don't see them for awhile I go looking for them just to make sure they are ok.

Mental breakdown for me
Even though she was clumsy eating those treats, she was never aggressive. What a sweetheart.
That's more like gentle german shepherd behaviour
She may be used to catching a tossed treat. That’s how my dog is. He is weird trying to take it from your hand because he is used to catching it.
@@SBJ452 aww, for some reason that’s so cute. He’s used to chomping them out of the air so he gets confused
That truly is how most german shapherds are sweet and lovable , theyre just very confident dogs, not like those little Chihuahua dogs with Napolean complex/syndrome
15:43 love when that realization sinks in that you're an animal, feeling sad, sitting in a cage, trying to be uplifted by humans. The empathy connection was made so quickly and you can tell this is the kind of person who's a perfect fit for their line of work
She absolutely recognized her collar and completely perked up. It was heartbreaking knowing that wasn't going to be going home with that collar on.
When the collar appeared she thought "I'm going home right?"
My childhood shepherd was named Princess, when they said her name I started to tear up. We lost her when I was around 7 or 8, I'm 44 now and I still think about her. She was the best first dog a little kid could have had.
..so it kinda sounds like this ur new dog then 😉
I had a white German shepherd for 14 yrs. & I miss her everyday. They are truly the best dogs.
Relatives of mine had a male german shepard that was names prince when I was a toddler.
He always wanted to kiss me and therefore ran right into me, taking me to the ground and so I got scared of him. 😅
How crazy when I saw this sweet love I said awe what a princess
Nothing can replace a boy's first dog. Still love you Buffy!
As a German Shepherd owner, this one hurts. You can tell she’s a good dog. I hope it’s a situation where the family changed their number instead of the idea of someone abandoning this beautiful dog.
I hope you are right, looks like the dog has trust issues, she's also on the skinny side, have a feeling the family is not gong to connect with Princess, hope I am wrong.
If it wasn't a sheepdog, wouldn't you care about it?
A lot of German Shepherd's aren't right in the head
@danielrichardson6054 They are not right in the head because the way some humans treat them and cause them to be the way they are.
So easy to blame the dog Daniel, when some absolute asshole dog owners are the cause of the dog's issues.
I bet you would have enduring psychological issues Daniel if you were abused by another human each and every day with no chance of escape from your tormentor.
It really sickens me that someone won’t keep their mature dog. I got a 5 year old male GSD that the owners bought as a pup and gave up. No bad habits, well behaved. What’s wrong with people?
I love how you can REALLY tell how well dogs react to the right kind of body language and de-stressing approaches, like treatos! Shepherds are such beautiful and loyal dogs. It's a shame her family didn't come back for her but I'm glad she had plenty of sweet, considerate people to help her through that tough period in her life.
She has such a sweet face. How the hell someone can take ANY animal into their home, feed it, care for it, and make it a family member only to abandon it makes absolutely no sense to me. If they'll do that to an animal, there's no telling how they'll treat, say, an extended family member. I don't get it. Thank y'all for helping this pretty baby. 😊
Lots of reasons. Perhaps they died, and the family can't care for her. German Shepards aren't always easy to care for. Maybe the owner was hit by a car, and can't care for a dog anymore. Maybe this was the hardest thing they've ever had to do, but they had to do it. Maybe it was for the dog's health.
It doesn't sound like it was any of that, though. Sounds like the dog escaped, and they can't contact the owner.

Do you know the story of the boy on the beach throwing the beached star fish? A man comes along and says you can't possibly get them all back in the ocean. What does it matter? The boy says, "It matters to this star fish" as he tossed it into the ocean. Animals are Soul too! It matters to each dog Rocky spends time with! Your comment happily reminded me of that story.
The world is made up of a whole bunch of little things, mostly.
Saving an animal changes the owner. It shows someone loves the dog.
If my dog was lost I be there in five minutes or less

Me too! Except once I was on a trip. I had gone to Michigan & I live in Utah. I got a call from our local shelter when I was in Iowa, driving back.
My Pomeranian & my 15 lb. Rat Terrier were both there. I had to call my sister to go get them.
All we could figure out was the meter reader had left the gate open.
Dogs love to hear the sound of people’s voice. When I interact with my dog I always talk slowly and talk almost like you would talk to a young child. I am 71 and have had been blessed with dogs since I was six. Most people don’t understand how deep dogs love people.
I'm so happy to hear the "Princess" was adopted, she is such a sweet girl! Thank you for the video!
About a year ago I adopted a beautiful German Shepherd from the local humane society and she’s been amazing. She’s helped keep me alive with my depression and anxiety. She’s the best!
Same! We love our German Shepard mix rescue ❤
Ww had a German shepherd when I was a kid, and he was just amazing, beautiful, kind and a really good boy. I have had a soft spot for German shepherds, since.
Now, I am a house owner and a husband, with two dogs, a (Floof! He goes by the name Beppe but he... Floofs! You need to see it to understand) Bearded Collie and a Hunter Retriever (named Ida, more slim but also more muscled than the Golden), and she just won her 2nd championship. The Bearded 5-year-old is kinda a rescue and never got the training he should have had, but we've shaved off the rough edges on him, and he's reeeeally in love with our cat (Gimli). He's turning into a social lil' guy after a year with us, and the dogs play around with each other, sleep side by side, and one of them is actually sleeping right across my legs on the couch right now. Dogs are the perfect way to fight depression, and even though I'm probably half a world away, I really feel you about that... issue. I had it a couple of decades ago, and had my own way of getting it under control, but a dog is probably a much better way. It makes me happy that you have found a Shepherd that can drag you out of that hole. Feel free to contact me if you need to talk about it. Oh, this text got waaay longer than expected. I better wrap it up. Have a great day, and give your Shepherd a kiss from me.❤
My last dog, a Pit/Mastiff, helped me through losing my husband . She passed in 2021. Around two months later, I was again deeply depressed after losing her, so I got another beautiful little girl. She's been a tremendous help in dealing with yet another loss. Dogs are so much more loving than most hoomans! First one was named Savannah, and I kept her name. My current beauty was named Willow...I renamed her Willow Fawn, because she looks like a deer and leaps like one. She's now two.
@@LindaMFestaI'm so sorry for your loss! That sure takes some serious strength to pull through! It makes me happy knowing that you have one of these wonderful beings by your side! They are awesome, and perhaps one day, all of mankind will deserve to be their friends.

I picked my dog up from the pound and she was the only one not barking. she looked so scared. THE LOOK ON HER FACE WHEN SHE SAW ME. I WILL NEVER FORGET IT.

I do hope she is happier in the new home.❤
Amazing how quickly the expression in her eyes immediately became less frightened and mistrustful as soon as he gave her that first little morsel of food....Beautiful..We need less humans and more animals on this planet.
When I first rescued my german shepherd Ava. I had found out she had been neglected and abused. She didn't know how to take a treat either. I keep telling her to take it nicely...take it nicely Ava, or something to that affect. Before you knew it, she was taking the treats so gently and so mindful of your fingers, every time you gave her treats. Talking to them, does make all the difference. 😊
They are so intelligent.
@@triciac1019 They really are so smart .
You don't need to say anything, many dogs don't know what the words mean anyway. Just lightly hang on to the treat and hold your hand perfectly still so that the dog has to pull or lick gently before you let the treat go. They all learn fast that way. Small children often train the dog in reverse, they offer a treat and then withdraw their hand in fear of being bitten which teaches the dog to lunge and chomp before the treat disappears on them.
@@lemerdtoolthey don’t understand words (except for a few key ones), but they understand tone of voice and body language. If you are consistent with your use of those, the dog will learn quickly. It’s when people change signals that the dog gets confused (because, as you say, they can’t understand the explanatory words you are giving them).
I am shocked that she understands adverbs! Most humans don’t. 😊

Maybe they should send someone out to the house and find out why. Could be the owner is in the hospital, away on vacation, etc and whoever was caring for her lost her? They wouldn't have the same phone number.

Those ears are too cute
Such a sweet dog. She certainly seems to have a good character. 👍👍👍
Dear Rocky, I happened to come across your Facebook account. This is my third video about you sitting with the dogs and I must say I'm fascinated because you emanate pure affection, you radiate with kindness. It's touching me through the screen. Thank you for what you're doing for these poor pups.
NO ONE MAY EVER CHANGE HER NAME. SHE IS PRINCESS, DANG IT.
I so want that dog!
She's still there as of 11/11/23, listed as "Owner Known" but clearly has yet to be picked up. According to the video, by 11/15 or so, she's available for adoption.
I feel your emotion in your comment. It's heartbreaking to see dogs in shelters needing homes.
@@Keys879 I’m in Harford County, Maryland. I don’t think that they’d be able to get her to me.
Agree. Always keep a dog's name when you adopt a shelter dog. Something basic and familiar in their new world.
I can't stop thinking about Princess and wondering if she's been rescued
Me too and I've spent days trying to find more info on her, but apparently the only way we get to find out is if we pay. I really respect the work Rocky does, but getting us to care about these dogs and then withholding updates for money feels really manipulative. Like trust your fans/animal-lovers to donate IF they can, don't extort money out of them just because they care to know how a dog's story turned out.
@@OrionsRose22 he said he wont post updates until things settled, and the final result is in about the dogs fate, but he will, and daily or more frequent updates about backs and forths are only posted to members.. also they said 8days until she becomes an orphan, that time just passed, give this guy a chance..
@@OrionsRose22 I also watched the video thinking he actually guessed her name, but he was literally told it by another woman. Intentional misleading marketing
@@NSW333 he did not say he guessed her name, he said he figured out (by asking someone) ..so you're the one who mislead..
@@OrionsRose22 also question the intention of someone charging a service to find out the fate of animals lives whilst using emotionally manipulative marketing ploys.
If the world was filled with such compassionate, scientific-minded, empathetic, professional people, it would be a heaven!
My dog just died. It makes me feel so good to watch Rocky. Keep going. Your doing a fantastic job ❤
My deepest condolences ♥️🙏✨🕊️🕊️
Seems like her owners cared for her. She was raised well. If her owners don't come for her somebody's gonna get one heck of a really good dog.
The time you spend sitting and interacting with these dogs is time well spent. Since they can't say it with words, I'll say it on their behalf - thank you.
Same. Thank you! This is always heart braking to see the fear in the dogs demeanour. It's good work you are doing! 👏👏👏👏👏
How could someone abandon such a sweet loving beautiful dog ? Unless you have a medical condition where you can't take care of her this is just heart breaking 😢 Im so glad she got adopted I have a special place in my heart for German Shepherds ❤❤
You are a good person. If only half the people treated each other the way you treat these dogs, with as much patience and kindness, this world would be a much better place. In fact you make this world a better place by what you do. Just watching this helped lift my mood from depressed to good. Thank you so much 🙏🏻
This...❤... people treat animals better than humans
My friend Elisabeth sits with depressed dogs, like they were surrendered because the elderly owner died or went into care, something like that. She will often sit and read aloud quietly. She started this with her college textbooks, and later just whatever book. One day she was reading aloud from a cookbook she had just bought and after awhile one of the shelter employees told her, "Find something else, you're making me hungry!"
I think its safe to say none of us are gonna rest until we know what happens next. 🙏
Ditto!
Princess reminds me so much of my GSD Lyla.
Lyla is very anxious and looks almost exactly like Princess.
There was a time when she ran off, we were out of town and she was staying with a trusted dog trainer, he went searching for her almost immediately. My dad thankfully had his phone on and was able to call the trainer and the man who found her
You are a very kind hearted person. Thank you for being a good example for all the rest of us.
Her entire demeanor changed after 20 minutes with Rocky. She seemed so much happier and calm.
This guy’s soul is pure gold 🙏❤️ makes me so happy to think there’s people in the world like this 🙏
Agreed, I'm tearing up.
Agreed. Great what he does!
My two little stinkers escaped on a cold, rainy, windy, night when we had just moved to a new house. They were tiny love bugs. I walked the neighborhood all night freezing and freaking out. I called the shelter as soon as they opened. They were on the phone with the Good Samaritan who saved my babies. It turned out that they were in a warm cozy bed while I searching for them. Point being, why did her family not blow up the shelter phones trying to find their stunning Princess?
Absolutely! I want to adopt Him! ( all the dogs too! 🐾❤)But my heart ♥️ melts for kind humans.
Yes awesome person!!❤
I really enjoy watching how you interact with the dogs. The information you provide about these wonderful dogs is so important. A little kindness goes a long way. Thank you!
The videos where you sit with a dog are my favorite. It is such a beautiful thing to see a scared dog slowly start to trust you, based on your incredible patience and understanding of them.
Princess is a darn good girl. How could anyone not absolutely love her? I love her. ❤️
Im upset. i would die if i lost my gsd
Sometimes it's a life choice. Maybe the owner lost their home and couldn't get rental place to live. Private rental more often don't allow dogs. So it might not be unloved or unwanted
I can’t imagine one of my dogs sitting in a kennel for 2 days. She is a beautiful shepherd and her eyes are so curious. So rooting for her to get back home.
Thank you for all you do for these precious pups!! It breaks my heart too. Seeing them scared, sad, lonely, hurt is heart wrenching.
Praying for you and the pups and caretakers.
She’s a lovely Shepherd. Glad she got a home ❤️
Seriously, these are the most loyal loving dogs you'll ever own. I don't know how anyone can abandon any dog, but especially a wonderful breed like German Shepherds.
I had a half shepard when I was a kid. Had to get rid of it. It was all the time trying to attack cats, but when it tried to kill another dog that was the end. I had to hold him so the other dog could get away, but the dumb dog wouldn't run off. My dog broke lose from me three times before someone came and helped. I'm not 100% sure he was trying to kill the other dog, but when he has his mouth around the other dogs throat it's probably not trying to mate... I can say that he never even scratched me while I was trying to stop him from killing the other dog.
@@mikewiskoski1585 I had half labs, 2 brothers as a child....we thought they we're choke-holding each other...turns out they we're humping each other's heads.
Must be the sullied idiosyncrasies.
@@mikewiskoski1585 Sounds like a crappy breeder that didnt socialize the dog
@@mrsearaphim4077 - you are most likely right. Working breeds must be socialized well. They are protective towards their owners so if you don't teach them what's normal ant what's not they may become aggressive towards pretty much anything that can cause you harm. Great dogs, but must be socialized and trained from the puppyhood
My dad also found an 8 year old german sheperd on the street that we ended up adopting. They start having painful health issues in their later years which is a bit tough to deal with
your levels of empathy are off the charts, dude, you're amazing
yah, it's easy for him and then the dog goes to a home where it's abused and a nuisance barker to the peace in peoples homes. Ive had it with the dog mania in this country. Everyday on next door is a post "help me find my "fur" baby." It's all the Nextdoor app exists for is lost dogs, dogs, dogs, dogs, dogs.
baby
Love him!!
All animals lover's would love to turn a dog's life around for the better
Maybe the owners were abusing that dog watch the dogs reaction to the owner's
You have a kind soul, my friend❤
I question how much she was loved. She wouldn’t be so cowed by a stranger. Seems like she’d be more open to people if she’d had a fun, happy relationship with owners. So happy to read the comments that she got adopted. She’s a beautiful girl!
Okay so I got ahold of my local shelter! She said yes they needed everything! I’m so excited! She sounded like they are overwhelmed and I’m so grateful and thankful I found this video and it inspired me to take action!
Did you adopt her?
@@BobStoneBoi oh no I’m not in the area. I called my local shelter (TN) and got involved. I actually start volunteering today. I got two fur babies and might come home with another after I start volunteering. Haha.
Our local shelter puts out calls for supplies every so often on social media along with the Amazon list. I’m a driver, inevitably I end up delivering loads of dog food and bedding and toys the next week. They managed to empty the shelter once this year. It was amazing.
@@jodiforrester7 You're going to come home with 5 within the first week lol
That's such a blessing!! Thank you so much for taking action ❤❤❤❤❤
We adopted two dogs, German Shep mixes, over the years of our marriage. Saw them in shelters. My wife seemed to be the benefactor of both, having bonded with these lonely caged and depressed dogs instantly. She has a heart for animals, and we took these dogs into our home, each one lived 12 years, and were fine pets and not only protected our house, but gave all their love and loyalty unconditionally. Than you for sharing. Keep doing what you do, friend. God bless
Rocky you are such a sweetheart! Thank you so much for everything you are doing. You are inspiring me to make time to do the same. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for GSD❤ I love that you told her her she was good as you were leaving, and left the big treat for her. She heard everything you said. Just wasn’t ready yet. God bless you!
I had a neighbor who used to drive her car around, screaming out the window "Princess! Princess!" I swear almost every other day! Her dog was a German Sheppard named princess 😆 🤣 😂 they must be escape artists! Just thought I'd tell you this story when I heard you say her name 😊
Our girl used to escape and go to the shelter to say hi to her friends get treats and meet new friends.. She loved the shelter they would call us and we would stop by and get her. It was a small town.
My grandmother told me that one day a neighbor trained her poodle to spit out the ball. ‚Spit it out, Nandl, spit it out‘ all day long until a neighbor shouted out of his window: „Spit it out now, Nandl, damn it!“
our german would jump an 8 foot fence and just sit in our front yard! absolute escape artists 😅
she had also escaped the shelter and ended up on our front porch which is how we originally knew about her!
that poor sweet girl...I grew up with Shepherds and they're such amazing, intelligent, loyal and loving family members...how could anyone not want a Sherpherd?
....which counts for every dog, regardless of its breed.
maybe they aren't active people, or they don't want dog hair everywhere, or maybe they're sensitive to dog vocality. They're great dogs but not for everyone
Apt living
@@hostjoeThose are terrible reasons to treat an animal like this
they can be overly aggressive right up therr with chihuahuas and pit bulls. they can kill kids. too bad im in a kid less neighborhood
My husband and I started watching your videos and our hearts were reborn again.! We rescued our boy where he was found on a job site in a gutter drain. Our son found him and brought him to us. We took him to the Vet within an hour of having him. I worked for the vet and we had him neutered and he is kept up on all vaccines and his heartworm prev monthly.
Your show us amazing to let people know that there is hope in this world for these animals. We did want to know where you guys are located. Thanks for reading our story of our pet named CHANCE what a great name right.
Have a great day and keep doing what you do! You are amazing with the animals and so is the great staff.❤
Rocky, you're such a good human! This is the first video of yours I've seen - but it definitely won't be the last.
She’s well groomed, has learned her name, likes affection just doesn’t know what’s happening, she was happy to see her collar. I think she has a family that loves her and is trying to find her. I’m betting the phone number isn’t up to date, but I hope they can figure out where she is.
momento mori, unus annus :)
Or the owner is having health problems. Think about the stress of the dog if the last she saw her owner she was sick or going to the hospital.
@TuckEverLast Rocky did say on her chart, it said the owner was "known", but that was all.
@@sylviaross5722yea.. he said they got the info from her microchip
Anyone have any news on Princess? I think she has become all of ours now ❤
This GSD looks like mine. Thank you for highlighting this scared GSD. The ears tell you everything! ❤
So gentle. Bro everything you said makes 1000% sense! Thanks for doing what you do!
This is my second time to watch your site and I’m hooked. I’m so glad you are there for the fur babies for they need us in their lives. Bless you Rocky, I live in Houston, Texas, and I just wish we had someone of your caliber for the poor animals that are hungry and homeless in my home town. We have rescued and adopted numerous fur babies and been rewarded a hundred times over with the love and devotion they so affectionately and unselfishly give.
Keep up the amazing work and God Bless you. Mike
Man. If I were a dog that was taken to a shelter, I'd be SO glad someone was taking it slow and friendly with me. Like a little kid lost in a supermarket, who gets picked up and taken to the info point by a cashier on their way to the break room. I don't know where I am, I don't know what is going on, but this human is being nice to me, they aren't dragging me anywhere, they're just here to help.
Presomptuous and unrealistic of you to assume what a dog would think.
@@Izanagioomikami presumptuous and unrealistic of you to talk down on someone for expressing sympathy - i promise you that kindness will get someone so much further in understanding and connecting with animals than any amount of shutting down others' way of understanding how and why these strategies work. they are engaging in critical thought about why they think this should work and you do nothing but say 'no ur wrong'
OK, now imagine you're a human in a jail.
Please keep us updated about Princess and her progress. Such a sweet and beautiful dog.😍
