I adopted a 5 year old Cane Corso female, and the shelter wanted to reinforce to me that I would have to pay to return her, she was returned twice.....and it ended there. I've had her for 3.5 years now - and she is the BEST most beautiful dog ever. I took her to a trainer because she weighed more than me.....but I am the alpha, and she is the BABY!! Adopt don't shop!!!!
Thank you for not giving up on her. Getting a pet is a commitment for their entire life. Why ppl give up on animals is beyond me. I wish everyone had compassion and love for all living things. The world would be so much better if everyone had love.
We adopted a dog from a place that had a whole large litter in one small run. They warned us that she always would escape. They told us to keep her locked up. When we got her home we thought we had made a mistake. She was going crazy in the crate. We live on a farm so we decided that we had to let her go and let the chips fall where they may. We had her for 12 years. She never left our farm on her own once. She was one of the best dogs we have ever had.
Crazy how if you let an animal have freedom, they go back to normal. Huh, almost as if abusing it, crating it, and not allowing them to exist properly didn't help..
I’ve adopted dogs here in Cape Town South Africa, and all the shelters insist on dogs being neutered/ spayed before adoption allowed. They say to stop more unwanted dogs coming into the world. I’m totally in agreement with that.
if ur dog is that large it's not a cane corso, they wiegh about 90-100 pounds. for example my Great Pyr drawfs even the large male cane corsos and he is like 135lbs
@@atlas2410 sure, just like buddy's boxer that is 110lbs but actually is 90 lbs. in that case my Pyr is like 170lbs and my black lab growing up was 160
I adopted a Chihuahua. The shelter gave her a chip, spayed her and did all the right things. Thanks, guys! But they didn’t tell us, Ginger had been returned to the shelter 3 times, and so nervous about being abandoned. My husband is a mechanic so was test driving a vehicle. He just scooped her up, put her in the vehicle and drove down the road. Ginger started shaking and threw up. Come to find out, she thought he was taking her back to the pound. Now we know. We put her in and harness her up and talk excitedly about where we’re going and what she will get to do. Lots of love! 💖
My son adopted a rescue dog who had been adopted as a puppy, then returned to shelter three years later (we don't know why, but it was a few months into Covid). To say she had abandonment issues is an understatement. She recognizes the expressway the shelter was off of and is always a nervous wreck when we drive on that stretch.
God bless you and your husband! You are special people, and deserve all the best in this world and a special place in heaven. Thank you so much, for sharing that story. Thank you for not giving up. Just thank you, period! ❤🙏👏👏👏
Logan’s story made me 😢 he looked so heartbroken and ashamed after having been returned. Most people really don’t deserve these fur-angels. I’m glad in the end he found a home. Praying they give him the love, respect, and care he deserves.
I own a Cane Corso pound's really don't know enough about the breed. My 5 yr old Corso is the biggest baby. He doesn't realize how strong he really is. I got him for the farm not as a pet. He sleeps in my bed when he wants and has bad social anxiety since we Lost his brother when they were 9 week's old . There highly intelligent. And alot of people get them and I don't Care who says thing's happen. If you know things happen then you aren't a good candidate for the Corso. You make it work they get very attached and are great family dog's.everyday with my Corso is like a Scooby Doo cartoon.
6'2 and 245 pound old Marine here watching your videos and crying,of course not in front of family. Im a huge dog lover and appreciate your work. Semper Fi
I adopted a pitbull from our local shelter. Brought her home, she ate windowsills, holes in the wall, the futon in the room. I ordered all natural dog calming pills from Amazon. She was able to calm down nicely, and is now a goofy love bug ! Smart as neck which is probably one reason she was so stressed ! Great dog, all she needed was stress free help. Don't take on the dog unless you are really going to "rescue" them. I am loved !! ❤❤❤❤❤
When kids play together with friends, it is rather obvious that you wouldn’t leave a rather protective dog with kids alone. Training is crucial in the early days and with a rescue immediate training along, with the love and human protection, the decompression is allowed, but the owners are the Alpha from the start and family and a mutual respect and deep love is formed, but reinforcing the Alpha and training ongoing with regards to stranger interactions and children, who also must respect certain rules themselves.
We adopted a rescue cat. Spent a week with him in a small bathroom with me, bonding, building trust and letting his stress and anxiety subside. It took a week before he stepped out of that room. Within 3 weeks he owns the house. A very loving outgoing independent love bug. We adore him. ❤❤❤
I think my girlie cat convinced Jackie that we were okay. He was frost bitten in his ears and paws, had a broken rib, and a cold when he was in the shelter, so he was incredibly scared when he got here. My girlie sat in the middle of the room he was in and chirped while lying down until Jackie came out to see her. I love my buggers.
I’m my pupper’s 3rd home, so it took a while for him to get used to me. Jacks first smile didn’t happen until year 2, didn’t jump up on my couch or bed without permission until 9 months, couldn’t be alone without crying until year 1. This is Jack’s last home. ❤️
3 years ago I went to my local shelter to shop for a dog. I was introduced to a 6 yr old pittie mix that nobody wanted. We were placed in a room so we can get to know each other. She was all over me like a cheap suit when the lady from the shelter came into the room to see how we were doing. Abby did not leave my side, she was asking me in the best way she knew for me to take her home with me. She's been with me since that first meeting. I believe she picked me. In the 3 years we've been together, she has never done anything wrong in the house and when she thinks she has, she apologizes in the cutest ways. Abby is my 4th shelter dog and every one of them have been sweethearts. Abby is now in training to get her certificate to be able to visit nursing homes and children's hospitals.
lol, mine came out of the dog run, laid in a circle in my lap, put his head on my shoulder….I was there to help the volunteers with a dog adopted event, not to adopt. Boy was I in trouble. I was just trying to get him out to play, he was so anxious, but he needed love. I looked in his eyes and with sarcasm said “ oh I don’t like you” and gave him a kiss. his big puppy eyes stole my heart. I fostered him, foster failed. He never left. He indeed picked me. He is spoiled rotten.
I just feel the pain these poor animals feel!! I wish I could take every one of them and Love them, Feed them and house them! They deserve so much better from we humans!!
I believe everything happens for a reason and in the long run Logan is now w/his forever family. Lots of love w/5 kids to play & give him All the hugs & kisses he deserves! Beautiful story in the end!! U guys do amazing work!!
@@XoeCox All dogs deserve a home. If you truly love a rescue, the effort is worth it. But there's a dog for everyone, & if you prefer puppies, that's a-okay.
@@4Mr.Crowley2 Yeah, I was being too general. I can see how there'd be exceptions. I just didn't like how they generalized shelter dogs bc they're not all the same.
I feel very sorry for Logan, I’m so glad he got a new home in the end. Rocky I’m so proud of you and your team for everything you’ve done for him and all the other dogs bless you all and keep up the good work.
Whoever adopted him obviously dont understand dogs. Put him in a crate and left him alone basically day one!? that is honestly disgusting. I do hope his other home is treating him well, you can see he has a lot of love to give
@@littleme3597lmao thats silly crates are a WONDERFUL tool for dogs. To have a safe, dog only cozy space can make all the difference! i have a husky and three cats, she needs to be crated when im not home to protect my cats! i love my babies and want them to not be stressed out in their own home.
@@brookenagel3680 I agree completely and the blaming of adopters all.the.time when certain dogs attack or destroy houses seems like a bad idea and poor practice.
Some of you seems to be confused- the use of crates requires training, it shouldn’t be stressful for the dog and no you shouldn’t just leave a rescue dog alone in a crate day one and expect things to be fine, it’s irresponsible and bad crate training. A crate trained dog has a refuge, their own bedroom and will be far less distressed when they visit the groomer, travel by aeroplane or anywhere in a crate. It is also a safer way to have your dog in the car. If you can’t see beyond you own human experience of crates maybe you aren’t qualified to own a dog
I cried through this one. My boy is a giant breed who was discarded and set on fire. When i met him omntje shelter it was clear that he had given up on life. He was emaciated with half his fur birned away. Now hebis fat and happy. He is an amazing nanny dog to smaller dogs and puppies.
I rescued a rottweiler from a fighting ring,he was in a bad way. Covered in bite and tears from head to foot 😢 but with love and kindness he turned out to be the best dog ever. A true gentle giant,I adored him. Didn't know I could love a dog so much❤ sadly gone now and missed so much😢
Rocky, I have to tell ya... this episode made me cry. I could feel the pain that that big, beautiful puppy was enduring after being returned to the shelter. All he wanted was love.. to love & to be loved. I cried because he was given back (like he wasn't able to know someone ELSE didn't want him) and I cried even more when he was adopted by that family. I pray they love that big boy with everything they have cuz I know he's gonna be giving them even more than that. Thank you for all you do.
It's disappointing how little effort some people put into coping with an animal. My dog has been through serious trauma and will still charge me due to his guarding nature. He's 90 lbs and was a difficult situation to deal with initially. After 4 years, I can't imagine my life without him and he's an amazing dog. Like all people, each dog has something about them that is unique or may require extra time/training. It's absolutely worth it
Glad to see you were patient with your dog. Most people would give up, it isn't easy to deal with a "charging dog", but somehow you were willing to give him the extra time he needed to be trained and to trust you. So now he has a happy life and and a loving home.
What are you doing a wonderful job and like you say some people I would be one of those people that wanna take them all home and adopt them all but I don’t have the space I do have a beautiful rest you he’s a Yorky and he thinks he’s the king of the castle 11 oh one bedroom apartment and he seems like he owns the bed right smack in the middle and I’ve had him for over nine years and I wouldn’t trade him for the world
We have experienced the same thing with our rescue. We loved her from the beginning but she took a bit to trust us. She still has some issues but she is so much happier and that is all we wanted. We got her in January 2020 which turned out to be great timing because we were all home all day as she got more comfortable. Three years later, she is now great with us (most people) but she has some problems with anxiety and can be aggressive with other animals. We just work around her issues and treasure her. If we had just reacted to her behavior when we got her and returned her because she took extra time and care, we would’ve missed out. Everyone, people and animals, needs an adjustment period to recover from trauma. Thank you for supporting animals.
I adopted a very abused dog. I’ve had him two months now. He is still passing milestones and every time he opens up a little more I’m brought to tears. I’m NOT someone that adopts and returns. I’ve adopted two dog from high kill shelters in the past five months. I highly recommend it. There is no love as great as a shelter animal!!!!
My very abused 10 YO took almost 8 mos to even want to sit w/me on the couch. Bit everyday out of fear. Once that milestone was passed, things went much smoother, a lot more quickly. Unfortunately, he got a rare, aggressive cancer from lack of neutering (I had it done, but was warned it could be too little, too late) & Vet care. He was given just 2 weeks, but made it 3 mos! His fighting spirit never left, even trying to attack the Vet! We take solace in knowing that poor little dog finally knew what it was to be loved, not beaten & what a dogs life should have been. It was a long, but too short, 22 mos. 😔❤🐾
As a mom to a scary looking large Cane Corso. I can tell you that they can be the most loving, gentle, affectionate, protective family members you could hope to have. My Enzo loves all kids, loves all dogs, loves hugs and cuddles. Always has to be touching me and gets sad when any of us spend more than a couple of hours away. They needs lots of love. And need to get their energy out with daily walks to keep them in check. Do all the things and you will be happy and protected and they will be the most loyal best friend you will ever have.
Yeah my cane corso loves animals, women and children. Men he gets suspicious around, but I’m ok with that. Majority of violence is committed by men so I know he’s got that guard dog instinct in him.
I rescued a Cane Corso, the best friend I ever had!! They are extremely sensitive and so loyal!! Before you decide to take them in you need to know they are NOT DOGS who can be left alone! Because they are so loyal and connected to their humans!! Please people who ever consider adopting or wanting a Cane Corso you need to always be there for them and they will be Always e there for you!!💕
Why? I have raised Min Pin's for protection. This dog would be great with all the kids and how he is continuing to be trained. Surely they have room 🤷♀️@@MB-ld6js

These animals know where they are and what's happening. Logan has tears in his eyes. Poor baby. I rescued my baby from the shelter. He had so many issues. He was horribly abused. He even had food aggression. It's been almost 3 years and he has come such a long way. He went from food aggression and attacked me the first month I had him, to now free-feeding and sharing a bowl with his brother. I'm so proud of him. It really does take a special kind of patience to help these babies work through their issues and let the dog come through that they really are.
I rescued two pit bull, Sharpae, and Dachsund. They were under 2 weeks old and didn't even have their eyes open good. They both had Parvo and one had an ulcer on her eye. But they were so bonded. I got them up to the point that they were healthy and ready for adoption and they would scream when seperated. I tried to explain that they were so bonded that they spit in their crate with their laws around each other but the rescue facility said they don't adopt siblings out together because it causes behavior problems. Well, it wasn't a foster fail, it was an adopt success. They are both with me, a little over a year old and happy, healthy, and very interactive. I'm so happy to have them with my other 2 rescue dogs who are chihuahua mixes. We make a great pack and a loving family.
He needs time and patience and love. Obviously, the people who adopted him had none of these. It's actually good he was returned since the new owners were clueless.
Especially with this breed I Agee it's a sad that he had to go through that, I hope there is more vetting & a successful rehome. This breed is a commitment in a healthy situation, they are worth it, they are the biggest hearts to their family, intelligent, emotional, sensitive, breaks my heart to see him here, going through it, I hope he has every success and love he deserves with a committed home. Willing to do thr work & who have knowledge of the breed. ❤
Yes, this sounds almost like it was their first dog. Anyone who’s had a dog would know that you should never leave a rescue dog completely alone the very first night. Of course he was stressed and reacted badly. The people that adopted him didn’t understand that he needed their attention and time. I’m so happy that he got a new family.
@@AL-bv7jt seems Rocky needs to have this place ensure proper vetting to eliminate revolving door pets. Plus there should be a national database of abusers and bad pet parents
You can see the shame he feels for being returned, he thinks he messed up some how. You are loved, you are not a mistake 😊 love will find you my sweet angel boy.
I instantly started to cry when Logan went in to meet dad. Their son will have the best friend ever. I have such a soft spot for Cane Corsos. They are an amazing guardian that thinks before doing anything. And I’m not surprised that Kobe is doing so well with your family. Any dog that crosses your path is always going to have a better life.
Rocky, there will be a special place in heaven for you, along with all the wonderful fur babies you've helped. Bless you for all you do for these beautiful creatures!
I have a cattle dog x corgi. She was abandoned in an apartment, and then returned to the shelter three times in a year. She looks like a little teddy bear, but it's a working beast. She's hard, and a one person dog who demands partnership rather than a "master". She's the best dog I could want, but it took months with for her to learn to allow herself to love. Now she glows with love and trust.
Oooh. That physically hurt. Poor, poor Logan. Such a big beautiful dog. To be immediately returned must have been very confusing. I wish that wonderful dog the very best.
Sweet doggie. I'll never understand people who take in a rescue dog and just decide they don't like it! Shame on them! Dogs deserve to be loved for life, people can be so fickle. So happy there are people like you who truly care.
@siennafreeman5317 Anarayes means, instead of not doing anything, and simply saying "we need more people like Rocky", BE like Rocky. Its not an easy breed doh. As a dog trainer I dont recomment a cane corso to someone who dont have a lot of space or dont do much exercice. If the energy is not spend, they can be a challenge. Not always ok with smaller animals too... But such a majestic dog! 😊
My latest rescue whom I adapted December 2020 and she's just now getting into the swing of things!!! She went through some pretty traumatic stuff and it was so difficult to get her to trust but she is worth every blood, sweat and tear.... I absolutely adore my Zoey and couldn't imagine life without her!!!!
My girl is a sweet pittie. She was returned so many times. They left her kennel open thinking we would return her too. It was work but turned out she had bad allegries. now she is thriving. She has been part of us for 2 years.
We adopted a pit/redbone mix a few years ago, and he has skin allergies too. I've tried a couple types of chews, benadryl, shampoos, and none of it worked. I'd love to know what you're using bc I'd love for him to be free from the itching. Sorry for the faces btw, YT updated and it takes forever to get a comment to process.
My bro-in-law rescued a pittie who ended up needing a grain free and red meat free diet! Allergies are common in the breed and sometimes diet changes can effect skin/coat conditions too. @@grainofsand7841

When I rescued my pup, I also put her in a crate for bedtime, and then immediately saw a panic attack. I had not realized dogs could have panic attacks! omg, the expression on Logan's face and the watery eyes, how heart-breaking. I hope in the end he found better, more caring and knowledgeable owners. After being in many unfamiliar places it would be interesting to know how long it takes them to let go of the anxiety of "Can I stay here or do I have to move again?".
I literally started crying when I saw Logan again. People are so cruel! And lazy. Nobody wants to take the time to get through it with an animal. I pray he finds a better place than ever❤ as for Daphne’s life, I pray for peace with her. And giving her a name was more than anyone probably has done for her. I love what you’re doing for these guys and the shelter is amazing.
people just don't get that while they may love that dog as soon as they meet it, that dog does not know you, let alone love you. it can take months for a dog to feel comfortable with a person.
I adopted a little beagle who was dumped and abused. He was extremely scared and it took me months and months for him to come around and really relax. That was 3 years ago and Louie is my sidekick in everything i do. We're like peas and carrots ❤

You have such a heart appreciation for the furpersons that can bless our lives. Experts have proven that dogs have the same area of their brains, that humans have: the ability to love. Your sentiments tell me you are lovers of these furpersons.❤
I adopted a cat once. She was very sad and also very sick, as I discovered a little later. She had been neutered, and the incision had gone septic. When I picked her up, I carried her in my coat to keep her warm. We went through the vet, she had to have another operation to deal with the infection. She pulled through, and we became the best of friends. She was with us for a couple of years before she died. It broke my heart, but it was good to have known her.

Congratulations on Kobe-news. I adopted a Senior dog last year. Three months in, he was diagnosed by the oncologist with lymphoma and 4-6 weeks to live. Well, he lived 9 months more with a good quality of life. Like you said, love, a caring family, and nutritious food!! About Logan, what a sweet boy❣️. I sincerely hope the family is committed and gives him life-long love, caring, and nutritious food!! As for the people that first turned him in, superficial ignorants, but it allowed him to find a, hopefully, good, loving, stable home that he deserves. I used to live in Murrieta and went to Animal Friends of the Valleys several times. Very good organization. Thank you for all you do.
What a lovely comment. Thank you for sharing your story about your senior dog. I am all for puppies, but I love it when I hear others welcoming senior animals into their homes and hearts. They need just as much love and care as the puppies. The thing is, a lot of people want a puppy because he/she is adorable, but man! Puppies are a ton of work! I know from first-hand experience, having raised now three puppies, and soon to be a fourth for service work. I would like to be in a space where I can adopt a senior dog or two or three and give them quality lives until they go.
My parents adopted a dog (Amber) from a shelter a few months ago and she has PTSD from her previous situation. She is very shy with people and cowers a lot but does well with other dogs. She needed another dog to guide her, luckily we have the best dog to do that (Hannah) who we adopted from a shelter about 9 years ago. Amber needs a lot of patience and love and we are dedicated to giving her the life she deserves. I agree with other comments where you really need to make the commitment. The path forward will have its challenges but as the saying goes, nothing worth having comes easy 💕
It truly hurts my heart to hear about Logan, I've grown up with large dogs like him, I had a childhood English Mastiff for 10 years. and currently we've had 2 Euro Danes for 7, with a 3rd one for a few months we fostered. People don't seem to realize just how sensitive those larger breeds are. I happy to see you so passionate to help all these dogs ♥
I'm so happy to see Logan get his forever home! What a beautiful soul he has. Thank you, Rocky, for continuing to keep us updated on all the wonderful dogs you meet. My latest rescue watches these with me before bed, so we both go to sleep smiling! ❤️❤️ to you and your beautiful family!
It makes me so sad. My dog was brought back to the shelter after being adopted. I could feel her grief those first months. She had been a mama when she was found originally. She was taken from her 5 pups, her admittedly not great home, then was brought back after being adopted because she didn't get along with the other dogs. I took her home days after she was brought back. I never had to work so hard to gain a dog's trust, but she's so worth it.
Logan's story is very heart breaking, I suffer from PTSD and if I could adopt a big boy like him I know we both would have a forever ever after story. Pets are living beings with emotions as well so let's show love to all the pets like Logan in the shelters because he looks like such a sweet boy❤❤❤
Yes, it would be you two benefiting from helping each other to better and more calm in an unconditional, loving environment. Just for you to also see beyond your PTSD, and have space to help another stressed out so to speak to be relieved of his, or her of their traumatic, horror of past, and move on happily and loved immensely. 😊💗💞😊💗💞
Me too, my heart aches when dogs and cats get returned bc the adopters aren’t always the sharpest tools in the shed you know? I’m not saying that in a mean way but don’t adopt if you’re not prepared to allow them to destress and become accustomed to their surroundings and their new family members. To us, common sense to them they throw their hands up and return the animal. Ridiculous seriously 😒
I have had a horrible history with violent, aggressive, selfish men. Rocky, you restore my fath in men and prove that kindness, love through compassion and a strong moral compass, are truly masculine traits. Thankyou so much: I greatly needed to be reminded that there are amazing men out there. The calm, gentle and consistantly generous spirit you carry is picked up immediately by the dogs. They instantly trust your calm and steady spirit. Keep it up. All the best.
nothing wrong with a dog being crate trained, obviously they aren't to put a dog in it and leave it 24 hrs, but to many it is a necessity for their safety and others, or for training, or for emergencies and senior dogs like having a den like space to retire too.@@ivanastankovic275

I wish they could keep those two little ones together. They are a bonded pair. I hope Logan has a good home now. He looks so sweet and the family looks promising
I absolutely love how she watched you talk. There are no words for people like you who see animals truly. They and babies are the only ones that sincerely practice "unconditional love". Thank you, thank you.
Not babies. They have no clue about anything. I love babies, but they just have no idea & rely on all outside factors for their reactions. When they’re ‘fussing,’ is just one example. Dogs are the only beings, since Jesus walked the earth, that are capable of unconditional love. God gave them to us here, to be those perfect examples of unconditional love. To remind us of Jesus perfect love for us. Unfortunately, too many times we reject both. :/
I’ve been around dogs my whole life I’m good with dogs and have an interest in their behavior. I have had several rescues and several since 8weeks. Every single rescue that went through trauma once settled in seem to be more eternally grateful than my pups that have never seen a day of hardship.
So glad that Logan got adopted- again but I can’t help but be heartbroken for him 💔 I can relate to his sad series of rejections. Praying he has only good, joyful days and memories, treated with kindness, compassion, and lots of love and have a final PERMANENT family. Love you, Logan ♥️ Rocky, you seem to have a kind, generous, compassionate, loving heart. Thank you for sharing the experiences and stories (happy and sad) with us.
Oh, noo!!! My heart BREAKS for sweet Logan! People have no business adopting dogs that they can't handle. Do your research! Give them a chance! A few weeks is NOT enough for a dog to feel completely safe and comfortable in his new environment. That takes time. 💔💔
We adopted two dogs and it took 6 months to them adjust. People it takes time. If you can’t do that don’t adopt. Every time I watch this channel it breaks my heart ❤️
This makes me cry. If I had the room for him, I’d take him in a heart beat. It takes a long time for an abused dog to open up and feel safe and secure. Oh my gosh my heart is breaking. 😢
When we adopted our boy Jesse, he peed (a lot) anytime we made eye contact with him or he got excited, or scared, or any really big emotions. It took 3 full years for him to completely stop but it was never a conversion to return him. Sometimes dogs need time to ajust, and it can be quite a long time but you cant give up on them.
So glad Logan found a loving home in the end. These are huge but super friendly dogs. My grandson has one with his 3 small children and they are wonderful together.
I’ve been rescuing for 20 years. I’ve also been making dog food for 30. I’m retiring from nursing after nearly 40 years. I know now what the end of my life will be. I’ll be devoting my life to caring for these shelter babies. I have my own but I will also spend my extra time loving on the ones who need that.
Go Koby! I had a dog that I got when I was 4 years old (Red Heeler) and by the time I was 9 he was completely blind. Keep in mind this was in 1999, my parents decided to give him to a family that we hoped were going to keep him until his last days (because we were moving from Europe to the states), about 40 miles away, but he had other plans. Completely blind he escaped and walked 40 miles back to my house and made it safe BLIND. We kept him until we moved to the states from Europe and gave him to our neighbor until he passed a year later from old age. Completely healthy. His name was Djeki. RIP best friend.
Just the sweetest baby!! I adopted a 1 year old pittie mix from our humane society. She had never lived in a house before and had no idea how to behave inside, chewed on anything and everything, and only went to the bathroom on our rugs instead of our regular trips outside. She’s so incredibly smart and the figured out her doggie puzzles so quickly. After 6 months of consistent work with her and LOADS OF LOVE she is now just the best behaved and goofiest little girl and we’re so obsessed with her. Every animal needs time to adjust to a new home. ❤❤❤

This really made my heart ache. I know its a old video and hopefully he got a good home that loves him the way he deserves. Cane corso is a dog that dont like being alone, so not a surprise..

My fearful foster dog was returned after just one week because she wasn’t opening up fast enough for them. So I ended up foster failing and adopting her. Best decision I’ve ever made. She really just needed some time, and now she’s the BEST dog anyone could ask for.
If you adopt a dog, the moral of the story is to stay home with him all that day and night, and preferably have someone home with him for a while. My mom treated our rescue dogs exactly like a new puppy. She would sleep next to the dog (usually on the couch with the dog on the floor), staying close and calm.
We adopted an 8 yr old gentle giant. He'd been abused, returned to the shelter 3 times, and had a rap sheet the size of a dictionary. it took time to build trust. We've had him 3 yrs now and he is such a different dog. It didn't happen over night but he is in his forever home and such a great big brother to our mini Aussie. You have to give them time to adjust. They are not puppies. They have PTS just like humans. But once they realize they have a forever home, they will be the best dogs ever. Hope Logan finds his forever home.
All dogs deserve a family, not all families deserve dogs🥺

So RIGHT ON!!
Anyone know if Logan cane Corso still in home with the kids
Beautiful story!

@@craiggribler8922 They certainly dont show up in shelters often. I would think there would be a long line of adopters.

made me sad poor pup those times of abandonment must've terrible for them to throw up from the thought of going back
My son adopted a rescue dog who had been adopted as a puppy, then returned to shelter three years later (we don't know why, but it was a few months into Covid). To say she had abandonment issues is an understatement. She recognizes the expressway the shelter was off of and is always a nervous wreck when we drive on that stretch.

Cane Corso’s are incredibly protective of their families once they settle in. Those kids will have the ultimate protector.
Yea, but will the kids be able to invite friends to their house?
@@irener.3849 Good question. I guess it’ll depend on how the family trains him.
@@irener.3849 It's all about the training. I hope this family is sensible and responsible, unlike the previous one.

@@brookenagel3680 I agree completely and the blaming of adopters all.the.time when certain dogs attack or destroy houses seems like a bad idea and poor practice.
@@littleme3597 Agreed!

There are truly very compassionate People in this cruel World! Thank You for being one of Them!🤗🐕💝
It's unbelievable how many people get dogs and don't know the first thing about the time and understanding & patience it takes to have a dog.
It takes a special person to have that patience. You are that person. God's blessings.
Amen! God bless you Andrea!
It took him 20 times before the dog actually sit. You need to be honest about the progression

Thankyou ✨
@rockykanaka I only adopt/rescue!!!! There are so many fur babies in need so going to a breeder, reputable or not would be sinful!!!
That's really sad since I have a cane corso of my own, he's still a puppy, I hope Logan gets the love he deserves soon ❤
Can we just appreciated how cute he is 😢
Are we talking about Logan , Rocky or both? 😁
Yes I think we should all take a moment for that 😀
@@carollamontagne6710 Sorry, logan. I didn't clarify 😁
Thank goodness Logan got a new forever family after he got returned! He deserved it! 😄 I just hope those other dogs get the new homes they deserve. 🤞
My girl is a sweet pittie. She was returned so many times. They left her kennel open thinking we would return her too. It was work but turned out she had bad allegries. now she is thriving. She has been part of us for 2 years.
😮😮
We adopted a pit/redbone mix a few years ago, and he has skin allergies too. I've tried a couple types of chews, benadryl, shampoos, and none of it worked. I'd love to know what you're using bc I'd love for him to be free from the itching. Sorry for the faces btw, YT updated and it takes forever to get a comment to process.
My bro-in-law rescued a pittie who ended up needing a grain free and red meat free diet! Allergies are common in the breed and sometimes diet changes can effect skin/coat conditions too. @@grainofsand7841
Thank you Janet, for perceiving with you kennel rescue dog 🐶 You most likely saved her life, lovely positive story. 🙏
@@grainofsand7841 few things worked. Fresh Pet food in pet fridge. She responded well to aqueol (sp) vet prescribed. It is pricy so get pills and cut. 16 mg and 3 mg same price so now we cut big pills. We got allegries clear and seems like we dont need in winter here. Vet tech was good about explaining what she saw in her experience.
My dog is a cane corso rescue -- he is the most loyal, loving dog I have ever known. It's a breed that takes time, commitment and patience, especially if they are a rescue, but the rewards are well worth it.
Sometimes this channel is hard to watch -- keep doing the good work Rocky.
When I rescued my pup, I also put her in a crate for bedtime, and then immediately saw a panic attack. I had not realized dogs could have panic attacks! I tried to comfort her, but she was so stressed, so I took her out. It took weeks, but now she's the very, very best girl EVER. We learned to trust each other and she learned that she was a part of our family forever.
Then you brought the piece of trash home so it can terrorize the neighborhood for the next 20 fkg years! Another quiet, safe, and clean neighborhood now has become loud, dangerous, and filthy because a lowlife felt lonely.
I’m not familiar with crating dogs but understand “crate training “ is recommended
crating a dog is overused by people who cannot handle the dog, they think ...
@@lespangen ... it's overused & abused, not meant to "store dog in a box because they're inconvenient" ... it's cruelty IMO
@@captainrankin6865 Right! f it's cruel for people, of course it's cruel for the animals as well! Is it O.K. to put people in crates? No! It is freaking abuse! Animals feel THE SAME as people! It is unbelievable that there are so many people on this planet who don't get this and need explaining. It is imposible to live on this planet because of them. The amount of abuse is unbearable.
As an owner of that amazing cane corso breed, I can attest to the breeds calm and patient demeanor. I'm so happy to see these remarkable pups getting the care and love they deserve..
omg, the expression on Logan's face and the watery eyes, how heart-breaking. I hope in the end he found better, more caring and knowledgeable owners. After being in many unfamiliar places it would be interesting to know how long it takes them to let go of the anxiety of "Can I stay here or do I have to move again?".
Dogs are such a gift...most people don't deserve them!
It's sad that Logan got returned to the shelter, but it looks like he's going home to a loving family!
I adopted a little beagle who was dumped and abused. He was extremely scared and it took me months and months for him to come around and really relax. That was 3 years ago and Louie is my sidekick in everything i do. We're like peas and carrots ❤
How lovely!
it’s SO WORTH IT!!! 👍🏻🙋♀️😁
I cried uncontrollably, watching this! As someone who has done pitbull, rescue in hard to adopt dogs, my entire life, I wish people could realize the extent of the consequences of your actions, and how many dogs lives are lost from them not thinking things through! I personally believe animals are our angels on earth given to us for a small period of time to cherish God bless you, Logan I hope you find your place in the sun!
Thank you for giving her a home!
Bless you warm heart!
@@petra1201 Oh, she thanked me every chance she got, and that was really the icing on the cake. It was hard to lose her, in the end, we were good pals. These kinds of things come along, once in a while.
Thank you so much for taking care of her! Losing them if one of the worst things in this world, my girl is up there too, they'll play together for sure!
Bless you -- I bet those 9 months were great ❤
@@denisem1080 Thank you. Those nine months were wonderful. It was amazing to watch him thrive despite the lymphoma!!
God bless you for giving your little angel a good life and loving family.
Thank you! I will pass on to help the pups 🤙
They are are aren't they well worth it. I had a hard to home, reckless rebel. She danced to her own drum and the music was heartbeat.
Thank you.
What a healing moment for Logan as you held him, his eyes relaxed.
Logan's story is very heart breaking, I suffer from PTSD and if I could adopt a big boy like him I know we both would have a forever ever after story. Pets are living beings with emotions as well so let's show love to all the pets like Logan in the shelters because he looks like such a sweet boy❤❤❤
Having a dog would benefit you greatly. Helps dozens of veterans & others, w/PTSD.
“You better watch yourself or we’re going home with a lot of dogs today”…. Your wife is great lol
I’m scared 🤣👏
I actually thought Logan might be a good fit for Rocky and his family 😅
She's awesome ❤
@@ember1794 you’re an inspiration. I rescued my first dog 2 years ago. Seriously considering adopting another here in Oregon. Mahalo ke kanaka🤙🏽💙
How does one get their spouse in this level? Asking for a friend 😅
I feel so bad 😭 he doesn’t deserve this torment he just wants to be loved I’m actually crying 😭😭😭
Me three😢 but happy the family adopted him. Woo hooo👍🐾❤️
He got adopted in the end.. chill.
Corsos make amazing companions! I love mine so much, so sensitive, they are lovable, easy on the house.
What is the common denominator? You, don’t pick aggressive men. Good luck.
I pray Logan has found his forever home and that his new family has shown him love and patience!!
And no freaking crates!
nothing wrong with a dog being crate trained, obviously they aren't to put a dog in it and leave it 24 hrs, but to many it is a necessity for their safety and others, or for training, or for emergencies and senior dogs like having a den like space to retire too.@@ivanastankovic275
happy there is a young adult in the mix too ...
I didn't like the family, they were very cold
@@nodiggity8746 You think? I thought they seemed pretty ok…considering the cameras on them and it’s a big decision! I just pray he’s still with them and happy!!!
Poor Logan! It is probably a good thing that those people returned him. They don't seem to have much common sense. He probably would have been even more traumatized if he had stayed with them any longer. I'm so glad he found a new loving home.
❤️😍❤️
I wish they could keep those two little ones together. They are a bonded pair. I hope Logan has a good home now. He looks so sweet and the family looks promising
How could anyone not love Logan? He's a big, boofy beauty and so gentle.
The eyes of a dog are the window to its soul.
Some great news... He seem to like Sunday food. Thank you so much Rocky🧡🐕🦺🏡
Thank you!
Does Sunday make cat food ?
I’ve been around dogs my whole life I’m good with dogs and have an interest in their behavior. I have had several rescues and several since 8weeks. Every single rescue that went through trauma once settled in seem to be more eternally grateful than my pups that have never seen a day of hardship.
So glad that Logan got adopted- again but I can’t help but be heartbroken for him 💔
I can relate to his sad series of rejections. Praying he has only good, joyful days and memories, treated with kindness, compassion, and lots of love and have a final PERMANENT family. Love you, Logan ♥️
Rocky, you seem to have a kind, generous, compassionate, loving heart. Thank you for sharing the experiences and stories (happy and sad) with us.
Do these dogs get spayed or nuetered before adoption?
@@addieandnana2012 Logan looked like he hadn't been neutered
When I saw the fear in Daphne's eyes, I just cried! No animal should have to live with that kind of fear!
Same 😭
I know me too !!! 😭
SO happy to see Logan adopted!! Great job Friends of the Valley 😃
If every dog owner had 1/10th of knowledge this guy has, imagine how much happier dogs would be.
Yes!
Why didn’t you take her with you?
Whoa that’s some heartless shit. Can’t believe you guys left that dog like that. Karmas a bitch.
He must have died from heart break 💔
Your own dog, Kobe, is precious, what a gift you give him
It’s so hard to see these dogs so sad and scared and I’m so happy that you can help them get through what happened well done 👍
The Cane Corso is not a breed for everyone.
Once they bond with you they are the “Best’ dog you could ever ask for💖🐾🐾
It’s just so big ….😃😃
Cane corso has a special place in my heart, I got the most amazing cane corso boy named Fabian. He is really just a gentle giant, he LOVES every dog he meets and has such a bond with us. This really made my heart ache. I know its a old video and hopefully he got a good home that loves him the way he deserves. Cane corso is a dog that dont like being alone, so not a surprise..
I’m a disabled vet… I got my Great Dane 6 weeks ago so we can train for service dog duty. This dog has changed my life and we’ve only been training for a month!

You're going to have to tail proof your place for sure! Congrats!!
The best thing we like about you is because you don’t give up on dog and cat and even if they get returned you don’t give up on them ♥️♥️
My fearful foster dog was returned after just one week because she wasn’t opening up fast enough for them. So I ended up foster failing and adopting her. Best decision I’ve ever made. She really just needed some time, and now she’s the BEST dog anyone could ask for.
Aww The groomers did an AWESOME job on Bertha and Ernie! Wow!
Logan getting adopted brought me to tears❤
Logan is precious. I’m so sorry he’s been treated poorly. I hope his forever home works wonderfully bc he is so very worthy. ❤️🐶
You are an amazing person! I am so glad people like you exist! Thanks for caring with all of your heart for these precious souls.
Small dogs are rightfully more afraid of humans as they have fewer defenses to the evil humans than do large dogs. Good job @Rocky!
