Well, darn you and your Subliminals... I am now going to start a rewatch of The Newsroom. The scene about Will and Mac' dad.. meant I had to. 3 beers and someone is drunk, just seems like comedy gold to this Irish guy.
Even for an English woman that seems early doors to be calling someone drunk. Especially little US pints, not even fine imperial pints. As a fella says "sure, you'd have four pints while you were deciding where to go".
When I watched the series the first time, it was on DVD, which had that bonus section that DVDs had. Lots of interesting commentary from the cast and Aaron Sorkin, and worth picking up if anyone spots it at a yard sale or something.
With all the attention to, and commentary about the characters and actors and dialog and storylines et.al. - I'd like to take a moment to commend the score(s) and writers thereof. Take a moment and rewatch that last scene between Will and MacKenzie - turn off the sound the moment the elevator door closes. Waddaya got? I have no idea who the staff composer was for this show - I assume mostly one person due to the thematic cohesiveness through all the cues - but to that individual: Well done. Really, really well done.

That brief moment when Will told the story of the first time he met Max's dad was one of, if not the, sweetest love moment in US tv, ever...
