Nice Jeep HR. Like the color choice. Stars and a SN would be awesome. Love the crank windows, especially on a two door. For me the only benefit of power windows is being able to control the rear windows from the driver's seat. Manual transmissions should be required in Wranglers. Automatics only for the disabled (ADA compliance). Personally I would have sprung for the hardtop, but I see the appeal of the soft top. Enjoy the new Jeep!
Love the color, but I would skip the decals. Buy/build a model Jeep, and dress it up. I bought a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the off-road package in 2008. It had 150,000 miles on the odometer, and I paid $1,000. It was fantastic, and my wife and I tried to get stuck in snow during the winter, and in the woods all year long. Never happened. We gave it to Jr 4 years later, and he killed it in a month. Enjoy! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍👍
Just an opinion, all jeeps need a place for a jerry can , some form of a two way radio other than a cellphone maybe a small ham radio, and a quick access lockable car safe for your 1911 . Oh my vote would go for stealthy flat black WWII stars on the hood and doors to match the black trim. Great looking Jeep.👍🇺🇸

That is one sweet ride chief! I am envious. The decision to put the stars on it must be your decision alone. It has to make you happy. This is just my personal opinion about the locks. I like when they lock when i go and stay locked. It makes me feel safe that no one can come open my door when im parked.
I love it and would order one just like it. There is one around here with the same color and it has the star on the hood plus a few more Military markings. A bit much but the star on the hood looks Great. As always God Bless and keep y'all safe.
Really nice looking Jeep! Americana Green ! The top also looks solid and makes it extremely versatile. Michelin Tires perfect We has a Willy's years ago it would go anywhere! Top down out in the country " Rat Patrol" . Have fun Best! Semper Fidelis
In my 2012 JK wrangler, I can program the door locks from the center display to all unlock when I get out of the car. I assume this function may not have been available in 2007.
@@mopar21 I can't understand why this seems to change. When I ordered my Jeep, I specifically requested half-doors. The salesman checked his computer and said they had been discontinued. Since then, I've heard a couple of other people say they are still available. Could it be a regional thing?
I’m looking at buying this jeep with the same basic features as my old CJ7 I bought new in 1985. 6 speed manual, soft top and 6 cylinder. Probably air conditioning. I only wish Jeep still made the old 4.2 liter 258 cid.
Well I did it. I took the window sticker from the purchase of my 1986 CJ7 and said build me one like it. $1000 down to order. It will take 11 to 12 weeks to get it. Hope there’s still some summer left when I get it. Do they make a shotgun rack for the Wrangler?
My wife’s last Chrysler had that keyless start system. It would let you get out with the fob in your pocket and still would run, but it made an annoying dinging sound the whole time. I always forgot about it when I was driving and would leave her in the car when I ran in a gas station. She was always mad when I got back in. Use this info at your own discretion..lol
I started my Jeep yesterday to let it warm up. No one was inside to tell me if it was "dinging" when I walked away. I've got mixed feelings about the fob business, but I suppose it's about like needing a key to start it.
@@hrfunk I forgot to lock the wife’s car a few times because I wasn’t actively handling the key fob. While we are complaining about automotive progress, let’s bring back dimmer switch buttons on the floor. My ‘79 CJ7 had that and it was awesome.
HR you're making me think about spending money! My wife has issues about that and she may be contacting you with complaints. I suggest you run now. Seriously though, this makes me really miss my 1999 Sport!
I’ve yet test driven a new JL stick. Here in my neck of the woods few and far between manual shift jeeps around. Special order I’m told. In my case, hard top and doors with A/C plus tented windows. I’m out here in the Great Mojave Desert and it get HOT! Questions: Is first gear like a granny, like extra low gear for crawling? Second. How does the factory suspension feel? On and off pavement? Last, Have you any knowledge of the Mopar Fox suspension upgrade? Good on you for maintaining your low body fat, you look good trooper! Me? Not so much blaaah! Neat video!
Thanks Gary. I love my Jeep! First gear is not a granny, it’s a driving gear. For “granny” you’ve got the 4L in the transfer case. The new suspension is an improvement over the older version. It’s notably smoother on pavement, but it still performs well off-road. As an aside, I’m in the exact opposite climate as you. Yesterday I was driving my Jeep through some deep snow and it did great. Not fast, but reliable traction. I’m not sure what the change you asked about was intended to do, so I can’t comment on it. Take care!
@@hrfunk yes sir, I just read another Jeep owners complaint about starting in first gear having a jerky feeling to it as the electronic motor assist interferes with start and stops.
It is getting more difficult to find manual trans. vehicles. My '12 Jeep Patriot had to be special ordered with a manual trans.. It is a minimalist too. Manual windows & door locks, tow hooks & block heater. I've been looking at new pickups but they all come with automatics. Guess I'll keep my Cummins/Dodge 3/4 ton. It recently turned over 250,000 miles.
I ordered a very similar Jeep and love it. I ordered it with the same color, plus running boards, and a trailer hitch package. I also went with the anti slip differential that came with the optional AT tires. I did not however shell out for the air conditioner. I live in Wisconsin and this is just a second vehicle. I got the tan option for the seats, no extra cost. What state are you in?
White Star Decals are good and cheep, follow instructions carefully. Geoff Who kind-a likes the WW2 Aviation IDs, but some trucking company uses those.
An extra $245 for that custom color is not bad at all, congratulations she's beautiful! I begged my wife to get a Jeep but she bought a Honda CRV for herself instead, we have fallen in love with it, but I would rather see her drive a Jeep.
Nice Jeep! Good choice on tires. I have the same on my ‘03 Honda CRV. Better for gas mileage and smoother/more quiet ride. (Did I mention that I’ve worked for that tire company for the past 40 years?). Thanks for the plug... Oh, the CRV and my wife’s Civic are also stick shifts. We’ve always preferred them. Once again, that’s a good looking vehicle. I’m up in the air about the stars on the hood and door. It would look good but if you decide to sell it later on, some people may not prefer them. Thanks for the video!
The color that you have is closer to 24087 OD green which was used from 1957 to 1975. I have my 1953 M38A1 painted in that color. I recommend that you do NOT put a star on the hood. It will be exposed to more direct sunlight and it will do strange things to the paint/decal. And decals are the way to go. Military Jeeps had canvas doors so I recommend that you put a 6 inch star above the JEEP logo in front of the doors. You might also do a smaller one on the front bumper and under the left tail light.
This is what the M151s looked like. M38A1 is similar except that the forward facing stars are on the front curve of the fenders and not the cowl. www.militarystencils.com/M151-SET-P245.aspx

Jeep looks great and I really like the color. Try the star on the hood before putting one on the sides. If you can't drive a manual transmission you should not be driving. A friend made a drug bust based on a conversation he and many other people heard from a guy in car talking on the blu toothed phone.
Manual transmission is the only way to go! Totally agree with you! Manual transmissions in all my vehicles. Simple is better. Old school! Way too many people are dependent on technology and can only drive an automatic.

Ha, ha! decisions, decisions!
I can't wait for warmer weather so I can take off those doors and remove the top!
Thanks Frank! Too bad about the Grand Cherokee. I always thought the older ones were great vehicles (the newer ones don't do much for me).
Thanks Anthony!
@@hrfunk Just in case someone missed it, a globe and anchor Marine spare tire cover. OOH RAH! I'm not a Marine but my Dad served in the Army Engineer corps during WWII in Greenland and Normandy building Churchill's harbor to resupply our boys and saw action in France and in the Rineland. So that's why I tell every Veteran Thanks for your service. For without them, I would not have the freedoms I have. God bless and have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Prosperous New Year!🎉🇺🇸 Sorry had to edit comment spare tire cover won't work because Jeep put the backup camera in the middle of the spare tire. Who knew?
That’s why I use the mirrors!
Very fitting hrfunk, congrats and enjoy. Wife and I love our black 2018. The JL design is very nice! Oh and this is our third 2-door and the hitch install was a breeze.
Thanks Chase! Mine goes back for the hitch tomorrow.
That is one sweet ride chief! I am envious. The decision to put the stars on it must be your decision alone. It has to make you happy. BTW, I took the safety paddle switch off my M&P and installed the plugs in the frame. Everything went back together fine and the pistol functions perfectly. I followed your video to do it.
Good! I'm glad that "safety-delete" went well. I like my .45 2.0 much better without it.
Awesome!! I just moved to western wv .I need a 4x4 .jeep came to mind .... I'm shooting for a 2 door, hardtop, manual everything..... I miss not having one.
If you get one, be sure to let me know what you think of it!
That is a great color. Enjoy..........Cheers!
Thanks Gerry!
As always
God Bless and keep y'all safe.
Thanks Gary!
Manual. No power windows. Good man.
Thank you!
Really nice looking Jeep! Americana Green ! The top also looks solid and makes it extremely versatile. Michelin Tires perfect
We has a Willy's years ago it would go anywhere! Top down out in the country " Rat Patrol" . Have fun Best! Semper Fidelis
Thanks and Semper Fi!
Sarge green, analog everything, good job! I need one!
I like it more every time a drive it!
@@hrfunk another good video and in response to the concealed carry video last week I decided on an IWB for 92FS it works well, thanks
In my 2012 JK wrangler, I can program the door locks from the center display to all unlock when I get out of the car. I assume this function may not have been available in 2007.
Love your new Jeep howard, and what a great colour. A star on the hood would look great. not sure about doors, either way it will look sharp.
Thanks Bert!
Congratulations ! 👍
Thanks Marc!
Great color! More truck companies need to offer that color.
I really like it too!
Hitch can be easily bolted on at home with simple tools. Half doors are also available.
Hitch has been added, but it appears the half-doors are an aftermarket prospect.
@@hrfunk when i ordered mine in April they were available from the factory.
@@mopar21 I can't understand why this seems to change. When I ordered my Jeep, I specifically requested half-doors. The salesman checked his computer and said they had been discontinued. Since then, I've heard a couple of other people say they are still available. Could it be a regional thing?
Nice Jeep. Enjoy!
Thanks Paul!
Love it and definitely do the decals
I'm strongly considering those decals!
Looking forward to this
I’m looking at buying this jeep with the same basic features as my old CJ7 I bought new in 1985. 6 speed manual, soft top and 6 cylinder.
Good for you. I’ve seen one or two racks, but none that I like very well yet.
Very nice, would love to get one, I love the idea of still having it in a manual. If only Chevy still made a manual as well
HR you're making me think about spending money! My wife has issues about that and she may be contacting you with complaints. I suggest you run now. Seriously though, this makes me really miss my 1999 Sport!
Once they get in your blood, you just don't feel right without one. Send me a photo of your wife so I can hide if I see her coming!
I’ve yet test driven a new JL stick. Here in my neck of the woods few and far between manual shift jeeps around. Special order I’m told. In my case, hard top and doors with A/C plus tented windows. I’m out here in the Great Mojave Desert and it get HOT!
Questions:
Is first gear like a granny, like extra low gear for crawling?
Sounds like you've got a keeper there! You're right, a manual transmission is becoming very difficult to find.
I'm in Ohio. So far, I love my new Jeep!
White Star Decals are good and cheep, follow instructions carefully. Geoff Who kind-a likes the WW2 Aviation IDs, but some trucking company uses those.
If I get them, 'll probably have them professionally installed.
An extra $245 for that custom color is not bad at all, congratulations she's beautiful! I begged my wife to get a Jeep but she bought a Honda CRV for herself instead, we have fallen in love with it, but I would rather see her drive a Jeep.
I just love my Jeeps, and I’m glad to be back in a 2-door. Thanks for watching Dale!
Thank you (and thanks for making me some good tires!)
The color is awesome
Thank you!
Who can paint a big White Star on the doors and the hood ?
I know a guy!
You might also think about a "good driver" decal for the dash someplace. Look at militarystencils.com
Ha! That's cool. Where were they located on the dash? I don't remember them in the M151's.
This is what the M151s looked like. M38A1 is similar except that the forward facing stars are on the front curve of the fenders and not the cowl.
www.militarystencils.com/M151-SET-P245.aspx
The "good driver" decal is on the glove compartment door above the driver's left knee.
I end you having the M1938A1. Now that's cool!
The white stars are a great idea
I am strongly leaning that way!
@@hrfunk Just go for them. By the way, did you get the update about the USAAF monument?
@@marcjacobs423 I did get the update Marc. Sorry, I didn't reply. Last week was pretty busy for me. Thanks for the photo. It's nice to know those sacrifices of the past are still remembered.
Love it man. I just picked up my 2 door a couple weeks ago. Do you take part in the jeep wave?
If you mean the actual hand-gesture, yes I do.
I like the idea of white stars, but then the paint should be matte. Will you run over the body with a fine sandpaper?
No, I don't think I'll go quite that far.
@@hrfunk 🤣
Love it. Like you, I loved manuals at one time, but wondering, do you wish you'd gotten an automatic now that you've had a while to evaluate?
Nope, I still love the manual transmission. I am glad I got it!
Wow, a basic jeep with ac, in two door awesome! I'm sure the dealer was not happy..lol....in that configuration you get the real jeep!
Thanks Michael!
I drove one for 20 years, and traded it for cash for a '88 F-150 4X4 I still have. On the stars, love the idea, at least the doors, but think "understatement" LOL
Ha, ha! OK.
Jeep looks great and I really like the color. Try the star on the hood before putting one on the sides. If you can't drive a manual transmission you should not be driving. LOL One thing to think about is when you are using the phone link to the vehicle if you can hear the radio outside anything you say can be heard outside the vehicle. A friend made a drug bust based on a conversation he and many other people heard from a guy in car talking on the blu toothed phone.
Ha! OK, I promise I won't make any drug deals while I'm taking over the Bluetooth link.
Manual transmission is the only way to go!
Totally agree with you! Manual transmissions in all my vehicles. Simple is better. Old school!
Way too many people are dependent on technology and can only drive an automatic.
I agree. Thanks for watching!
Modern day classic.
Yep!
Just how Wranglers should be 2 door, no power windows or locks, and a manual transmission. This is a real JEEP.
Thanks. I think so too!
