jeep lost their way when they came out with the patriot and compass. they had everything then, solid axle wranglers, libertys, cherokees and grand cherokees. they were affordable. then they come out with some small cookie cutter looks like every other box on the road. suburban moms started buying them all up and its been downhill ever since. there is zero reason a wrangler should ever cost more than $35K off the lot. yet here we are. everything is geared towards cushy soccer moms getting little timmy to the game, while they order their starbucks and carress their heated steering wheels....
Heated seats and steering wheels are great! I was able to rock doors off top down through mid-October (and still would be if the rains hadn't started).
I agree with you but I did buy a jeep patriot 5 speed manual for gas mileage!! But I will say the 4x4 system was very impressive to me!! In 2010 we had one of the worst snow storms on Christmas Day!! And I spent all day pulling out cars and trucks with it!! Laugh if you want but it never got stuck!! I’m on my 3rd wrangler and love them so I do agree with you just sharing my opinion even though you didn’t ask.

If the gladiator fails its definitely due to dealerships mark-ups at a pivotal time when it was released. This is extremely sad. People wanted the gladiator to succeed. I wanted one until I saw prices at dealerships.
I agree they should have priced them more aggressively and they would have sold. They should have been priced closer to other mid-size trucks. There was a Jeep Tax put on the mid size truck because it was a Wrangler. They could have sold a lot more of them if they had treated it as a truck.
The dealerships are to blame for the Gladiator lower sales in the US Market. Price gouging turned people off. I bought a 23 left over 7 months ago with thirteen thousand dollar discount. I wasn’t buying a 24 with a thirty thousand dollar dealer markup. That’s insane. Now all of the Jeep dealerships in my area are stuck with blue hook wranglers that no one wants.😜 As soon as the V6 models come in they’re gone. Stalantas doesn’t have a clue what Jeep customers want & I guess they don’t care either. That will ultimately lead to their demise. Let’s hope they sell the Jeep brand to someone that will make & care about what us passionate Jeep lovers want.
392 gladiator. If they wouldn’t have price gouged the gladiator when it came out. They would have sold a lot more units. They should have priced them $10k cheaper.
The 392 was still pricey when I bought mine used. When I bought my Gladiator when it first came out, I did get a good deal on it but now everything Jeep has is overpriced. I would love it if Jeep put the 392 in the Gladiator. It would have been a perfect match but knowing Jeep, they would have priced it ridiculously high.
I have worked in the automotive industry for over 20 years. The company I work for currently i deal with dealers of pretty much every OEM you can imagine. And I can tell you firsthand that I have never in my career seen an OEM slide downhill as quickly as CDJR. dealer sentiments went from this brand is awesome, to “holy crap What are we gonna do” in a matter of years. These dealers who have multiple million dollars, tied up in buildings, franchises, parts and inventory, Are all terrified of the lack of future they see. those in charge don’t seem to give a damn. The president of Stellanris is on borrowed time, everybody knows, it’s just a matter of when he gets replaced, not if. That will be Stellantis’s last breath of air. If they do it right, perhaps they can pull out of this nightmare. If they do it wrong, they’re gonzo.
Love the channel, but a few comments though. 1) I disagree that the Gladiator will be discontinued. It’s built on the same platform as the Ram 1500, that is supposed to be getting the STLA Frame architecture, which is the new Ramcharger. That platform has an ICE engine, but it drives a generator to charge the batteries, the ICE has nothing connecting to the wheels to move the truck. I bet a dozen rubber duckies, you will see the next gen Gladiator on this platform. Personally, going this way for electrification is what should be the main push, at least for the US market. It fits what you defined as this “transition period” we are living through. I would jump at the chance of getting something like this. It really is the best of both worlds. 2) I get your hate for parent companies of Jeep doing them dirty, but I would like to point it’s no longer FCA, it's Stellantis. I would argue FCA was probably the BEST parent company of Jeep, maybe ever. When FCA controlled Jeep led by Sergio Marchionne you got all the cool stuff you mentioned: Challengers, Chargers, Hellcats, and love to the Jeep brand with some actual innovations with the JL and JT platforms. It's only when, Sergio passed away and FCA was merged with Peugeot to create Stellantis, when things went downhill. Personally, I blame the Peugeot, which was mainly a French company for screwing everything up, and fun fact this has already happened to Jeep in the past! Back in the day, when Renault took over Jeep for a time, did Jeep almost again get killed off. I’m sure the French make perfectly fine cars for their country, but they have no frickin clue when it comes to selling in the American market. My qualification for being on this soapbox: I live in the birthplace of Jeep, Toledo, Ohio, and drive a 2020 JT. My father worked at Jeep for 30 years and I would remember him telling me horror stories about Renault managers coming into the plant to “make things better” only to cause a crap ton more problems. FYI, Daimler wasn’t that far off on the "making things better" chaos, either. Lovingly, longtime fan of the channel! P.S. I love my JT, you get the fun of a Wrangler, with the utility of a pickup. What more could you want!
Transition period? Are you referring to the attempt at FORCING the car buying public into the EV scam? 6.8% of the market, that's what electric vehicles are. People don't want them. Sorta like the J A B. You know, trust the science!? Besides, who wants a jeep full of heavy batteries?
The Gladiator absolutely does NOT share the platforms with the Ram 1500. It’s not even close. From the rear doors forward it is nearly identical to a Wrangler JLU and from there back it is unique for the JT platform.
Hate to break the news but cdj will be bought out by a Chinese company most likely byd which is owned by a anti American government and no American should buy those products regardless on how American they were
Really sound commentary. Much appreciated. I have loved my 08 Dodge Grand Caravan. Loaded with everything including a very strong and reliable 4.0.. (24.8 mpg). Gonna retire it and drive my 04, 4.7 Jeep Limited, and my more rugged 99, 4.0 Laredo. W/Banks Headers and duel exhaust, Mellon Cam, new lifters and push-rods, 12 port Bosch injectors, double roller chain and gears, 2" puck lift, etc...
Or, the non-turbo'd 3.0L inline-six. My neighbor has a new RAM with the Hurricane 3.0L dual turbo'd inline six and it is a firecracker. I am certain a non-turbo version would be just fine in the Wrangler/Gladiator models.
XJs are peak automotive innovation in my book. I have a rusty, abused, slightly built 00 whose 4.0 should have exploded three or four times with the stupid crap I did to it back in the day yet is still going strong if a bit hot, and I recently acquired a nearly pristine, stock 96 still under 90k miles. I plan to keep both as long as I can. I used to want a Wrangler Unlimited before I got the first XJ, and now that I can afford a used Unlimited, I just want more XJs.
my XJ is an absolute beast, ive been waiting for years for the original 4.0 engine to die so i can put a hemi in it....probably will have to wait another 20 years for that
Wow, what a forecast for the future of Wrangler. It sounds like you are looking at a crystal ball and it is spot on unless something changes with FCA like you said!
I think you're right on Stellantis not building a "Jeep Classic", whiich is the common-sense strategy. Interestingly, Ford just announced they are bring back a base Bronco, with a manual. Maybe they get it...
If it doesn't have a 4.0, a master cylinder and linkage connecting the transfer case directly to my hand I really don't want to own it. I'm not going to waste tears on chrystler, autonation, power, or fiat I'm just going to keep an eye out for people that don't want their 1000 dollar five speed renegades and make sure i've always got room for one more AMC jeep in the stable. if you know you know.
I own 05 Rubicon LJ 6 speed - last real Jeep, drove my uncle's Rubicon JL manual, it's barely a manual... This all has been coming and your spot on I see Stalantis OOB, fia and jeep will stay but the Jeep as is only survives if it's bought buy private equity, not Ford or any big company
I got a gladiator waited years to get one sold a Chevy Z71 to get it love it and I did get the six speed in it manual transmission, I'd like to get a two-door Wrangler
Great insight. I only bought a Jeep Willys Wrangler 3.6 liter engine 2024 model with a manual transmission because it is an American icon brand that I love. This model with a manual transmission can basically be only purchased if ordered. I waited 5 months for my four door model. Today with the enormous inventory build up, the chances of ordering a manual transmission is almost non existing. The best thing that can happen to Jeep is to be sold to a company that truly understands the American 4 wheel market.
Check and see if your Willys has an OEM transmission skid plate. I bought a new 2023 Wrangler Willys 4 dr with manual transmission and crank windows. Recently I installed an aftermarket skid plate and found the OEM transmission skid plate missing. The dealer told me that they did this due to a recall for the clutch overheating.
I hope that manual works for you... I can tell you going manual on my JKRU was a huge mistake.... I had the transmission out 3x in 80k for clacking throwout bearings. 3rd time out seemed to be the fix for my woes as I went with a full hydro setup from Centerforce and a B&M shifter to keep the shifter from popping out of gear in rough offroad. I had alot of fun building and wheeling it, but sold it after the 3x pulling the trans. Id most likely still have it if it was an auto.
Don't just empty every pocket, but also look in those couch cushions and under the fridge for change because you can now add power windows to the repair bill. YMMV...
I stumbled upon your channel this morning. I am now subscribed. Perfectly said, Jeep's current EV direction makes me appreciate my three older Wranglers that much more everyday. I hope Jeep gets rescued by some company. EVs are trash. Take your EV to a car wash, it won't run after that. Carry On Sir.
As an old CJ7 owner who bought his Jeep in 1986 for less than $12k I’d love to see an inexpensive 2 door utility Jeep again. Mahindra tried to bring the Roxor into the country. A CJ3 Jeep frame with a CJ7 shaped body. Completely utility but the jeep corporation stopped them in their tracks.
There are millions of used Jeeps out there. TJ, XJ, YJ, whatever, take your pick. Cheap and easy to work on. Find one in half decent shape and take control of your destiny.
Sad to watch the Jeep brand wither and die like this. I’ve owned jeeps since1991 and am pretty sure the last one I will ever own is my 2021 Gladiator Mojave. Between the pricing and ridiculous platform choices. Agree with you that they have zero interest in customer demands.
Very interesting about the idle defect on the pentastar. V6, considering the fact that pretty much every taxi company in the United States has used Dodge Chrysler minivans with that same Pentastar V6 in them for decades. My ex partner had one that had 300,000 miles on it when she bought it from an auction. I would venture to say taxis do more idling than police vehicles because the shifts are longer.
Those taxis really don't idle, they just get a ton of hour on them. It is the sitting at idle like construction trucks and police vehicles do which kill then. I own a 3.6 durrangp with 150k on it and the Pentastar is flawless
The crank windows were one of the few things that didn't break in two years on my Heap gladiator. Stellantis is just continuing what Fiat did, driving Jeep into the ground, six feet down all the way to the grave. ps. funny you mention idling. My gladiator did not have a great motor, the thing surged while siting there in park idling.
One danger that could happen is Jeep gets sold to a firm from a place like China like Rover. The best ideal situation is that it gets bought by an American firm and becomes it's own exclusive brand free of being owned from even any of the big three domestic brands. Unfortunately simplicity make for more reliability and environmental laws will never allow that to bring any future vehicle to be as reliable as an old school jeep. However, offering an option with less of the needless bells and whistles could help. Jeep needs an American guy with the passion for making an off road vehicle like the British guy who owns Ineos but the added passion to make it affordable instead of exclusively making it specifically for the high end market.
I got my ‘21 Gladiator V6 auto, so I’m good. Now I don’t like all the negative hype about Stellantis in recent times because I think it’s unrecoverable from, and thus it’ll be hard to get parts once they inevitably get shuttered for good.
Very rare Early 2024 Wrangler with only full red seats will be the absolute gem.. Especially with all bells and whistles including the factory half doors. This small hidden glitch with red seats that nobody wants will be the only model that will have the highest depth of value years from now. All have the usual vanilla plain black seats that seemed everyone was bragging about even the 2024 final edition.
Can you imagine a diesel engine combined with a hybrid? It's not a big deal to build, but the US government is focused on different horizon. It seems like to the sky.
A fully electric jeep... If anyone takes one off-road I hope stellantis puts a really thick skid plate down the length of the underbelly. Wouldn't be pretty if you bottom out and damage the pack. I guess driving through water would be out of the question too.
The batteries won't be hanging off the bottom. The 4xe's batteries are under the passenger seat and a fully electric version would put them under the passenger seat and extending into the cargo area where they will be safe from damage. The real problem is range. They might say a fully electric wrangler can go 600 miles on a full charge but that is under ideal conditions on flat ground. Not the terrain a jeep driver is going to take his vehicle on. So how do you have enough charge to go anywhere challenging? They have not solved that problem yet.
personally i wish i could own jeep, and just keep it as pure as a jeep can be. pure mopar. i am not a fan of the 3.6 pentastar because of its issues with oil on the top end, and how it can vibrate itself into grenading the whole timing area apart. that being said, i think the new hurricane 6 cyl engine would be an easy swap in, and probably wont even need the 4 cyl anymore if its as bullet proof as the original straight 6 was. for the most part i love the other things the new jeeps have. something i would do though, is make the willys spec as the base spec. its just so VERY capable. and i would run it as the classic and keep it forever while doing what people want with the other line ups. best of both worlds.
Except in all the hybrid versions they offer, you can't charge or park indoors. The wrangler only still exist because of solid axles. When they thought about replacing it with ifs jeepers showed up protesting. Same with mustangs gotta be careful with your core buyers.
Jeep should see what their new straight 6 is like without the twin turbos. Bet they could have both hp and torque above 300. Loyalists would love another straight 6 naturally aspirated
@@dvader3263 people want teslas, not everything else ev. Nobody wants a hybrid/ev wrangler/gladiator. Ford sold less trucks because they got greedy and started gouging customers
They were not really offering crank windows, more like offering you a 2k upgrade for power windows. I would be sad about the manual vanishing, but my 21 Gladiator 6MT blew up so.
ill never be able to not row my own gears. especially in a wrangler. its nuts they're in the direction to phase out the manual. i tried EV for a few months, it was cool to basically learn how to drive again and they're fast, but no soul. back in a manual wrangler. prefer the gearing on a rubicon than the sport s, but it feels so great. lots of great points. especially on the part of they can, but won't.
The Penastar motor IDOL problems: They use a soft metal on lifters. The break/wear down easily. That my theory on idol problem. I am a dumb dumb. I could be ** wrong
The only reason why Jeep won’t sell the new 2025 Wrangler with an automatic V6? Is naturally due to the thousands upon thousands of unsold 2024/2023 Wranglers still for sale on many lots! No other reasons make sense! As long as they have excess 392 V8’s left in stock they will be available!
Well hell...I guess I need to get off my big old butt and trade my '05 4x4, five cylinder, Chevy Colorado LS, for a used pre 2022 Gladiator...Which is what I wanted in the first place.
I’ll just keep driving my 16 JKR with a real conventional 6spd. 202k and still runs like a top. They are trying to kill manuals and naturally aspirated engines in one swoop. They want disposable, overworked, and unreliable turbo 4 banger auto hybrids in everything. Stuff most people can’t work on and that turns to junk by the time the warranty runs out.
Just got a new Gladiator. If Jeep drops the Gladiator when it’s time to trade, my Gladiator will be worth more, if Jeep still made it. Just look at what happened to used prices of th FJ.
I find it a little surprising to hear they are keeping the manual with the 3.6 after all of the clutch issues over the past few years. Don’t get me wrong- I am pro manual. Just surprised…
I know 1st hand that the Jeep plant is down to minimal production. As I was just laid off due to lack of work with the Jeep plant as were many others. The JT I foresee to go bye bye. Only two weeks production per month. As for the JL line, that is down to one shift only with possible slow downs due to lack of sales. I may be relocating just outside Albany NY myself for a better life opportunity..
Man I hate you lost your job could you give me your honest opinion of the gladiator I’m getting ready to retire and just want one more new truck love the gladiator night hawk. Just need to haul a few things I. The back no off-roading except to the duck blind. Back in 87 I passed by the factory. They had 2 jeeps that looked like they were crawling the wall. So cool got back home and bought one. Hope your fortunes turn around. Best of luck
@@user-og9nr1fd9y I'll find something soon I'm sure. Now the Gladiator would be ok for your usage, even light trail riding. Once you start doing lifts and bigger tires it strains everything. Knew one guy go through three engines in his Wrangler but had huge tires and lifted.
@@tinmansolo5855 thanks I appreciate your time think I m gonna pull the trigger and get one. I’m going to keep it completely stock. Thanks again for input
I bought a 2021 JL two door, and immediately took the top off (after removing it and replacing it repeatedly) and the freedom panels are in the garage. The doors stayed off next. I drive it around to and from work, the area, and get so many compliments on it. The dealership, in Southern California, had no soft tops. The used ones were marked up. Anyone who grew up with Dukes of Hazzard could tell the Jeep has been dead a long time. I gave the JL a shot, which even as a two door, with 18k miles, was crazy in price. You wonder why Jeep is moving on? It's because people don't know what a Jeep is, just what the modern day usage is, with the hard-top buttoned up tighter than a brazier on the first date when you were a teenage boy...when people compliment a basic, open Jeep it's because there are none, or few of them anymore, except in the magazines. When people see my Jeep, they ask questions like, aren't you afraid you will ruin the interior? What if you get dust or dirt inside? What if it gets wet? Are you serious right now? One guy pointed out I had leaves inside. I replaced a 2023 Tacoma with this, and I love it. It feels more classic, real. It has screens, but you can turn the main one off, and adjust the brightness of the ENTIRE interior to take in the sunset. People don't want that experience anymore, like most things, they want to pretend they are. Like the Off-Road truck loaded with gear you see struggling to squeeze through the McDonalds drive thru. I've never been off road yet, but everyday, it's open, rain or shine. (I do have a Bimini top) and it's fun. Isn't that what it's supposed to be? We lost the thread.
There is a lot of truth in your video. I have owned several Jeeps and currently still own 2 of them. These are the Jeeps that I have owned and no longer have: '97 TJ Wrangler, '15 Cherokee (2wd), '18 JLUR (JL Unlimited Rubicon), '20 JTR (Gladiator Rubicon), '21 JLU Sahara 4xe (Hybrid), and '22 Grand Cherokee 4xe. I still currently own a '10 JKU, and a '22 JLUR 392. The last Jeep I bought was the 392 (used) and it may be the very last Jeep that I will buy because I think that Jeeps have become overpriced and they are pushing EVs and hybrids. The hybrids are great for power and fuel economy BUT the power delivery was NOT very smooth transitioning to EV to gas or to both EV/gas. I will tell you that the power delivery of the 392 is smooth and instant, something Jeep has not figured out yet in their hybrids. Even buying my 392 used was pricey and I don't think that Jeep will survive unless they drop their prices dramatically OR start building basic Jeeps without all the fancy options. Jeep and other auto manufacturers are pricing themselves out of the market. Stellantis and Jeep need to part ways in order for Jeep to survive as Jeep, not as a shared platform vehicle that most manufacturers do. I do miss my Gladiator and my '18 JLUR. NEITHER had the hybrid or diesel powerplants but a reliable, underpowered internal combustion engine. The Gladiator definitely needed more power and for Jeep to put a 392 or a higher horsepower in the Gladiator would revive sales of that dying model.
I was at the jeep dealership the other day. They had a Compass in the showroom. While I was waiting for my regular oil change, I looked at new model's to kill time. The salesguy came over, popped open the trunk of the Compass, I replied, where's the spare tire ? He said, oh, you don't get one in this Compass, you only get a can of fix-a-flat ! WTF man ! How chinsey ! Chrysler/ Fiat you guy's suck !
I lusten to this earlier today, just heard this afternoon Stellantis is going to shut down Jeep/ Ram/ Dodge/ Chrysler permanently …. Financially they do not see profitability of the brand. Who will buy jeep?
That depends on which Gladiator trim. Off-road suspensions tend to have lower payload ratings. But a Gladiator Sport S is rated for 1725 lbs vs. 1600 lbs for the Ridgeline. So not sure what point you're trying to make.
Yes, it's sad. As a die-hard Jeeper here, I just want to throw up. They are running the playbook to bankrupt this company, along with Dodge. They must be out of their minds getting rid of the auto on the 3.6L's. I do have to say the 3.6L is a good motor, and the 4.0L was a great motor. The only thing better was for someone to swap an engine for a V8. RIP #Jeep. I'm just going to keep my 2020 Jeep Gladiator and when it dies I'll throw in a V8.
I wouldn't buy a wrangler without a manual, so this wouldn't effect me... but at the current prices, I wouldn't buy one regardless. I also laugh at the thought of the Tacoma with a manual. Sure, they technically offer one. But good luck getting your hands on one with toyota's allocation system.
@@DEInTheGarage The mild (VERY mild) eTorque system on the 4cyl is NOT an EV, and is nothing like an EV. It's more like a start/stop system. It's really just a beefed up alternator that can put some torque back in... The 4Xe has an EV mode, so could be considered EV like, but no one is forced into that.
So correct me on this you damage a battery rock crawling or off roading you are stuck. Doesn’t that mean jeep becomes irrelevant as an actual off road.
The base Gladiator should be priced the same as the Nissan Frontier. The plus should be the top comes off. I understand the Rubicon would be more expensive. However it should not be priced as high as it i now. Jeep has over priced there models past what their blue collar customers can afford.
Typical corporate America. Just like employers bending over their employees cuz we're expendable. Customers, no matter how ignorant they are, come and go.
Hay Mahindra? Time to dust off your Roxor, tweak it a little bit and re issue it targeting the real Jeep crowd. Build it in Michigan in the soon to be empty Toledo Jeep plants. When Jeep sues them, they get to say that Stellantis stopped building jeeps and no longer can rightfully claim the trade dress ownership because they abandoned it. So they departed a market to be plugged by them.
I watched the fat electricians video on the chicken tax. really fun watch. the jeep brand is definitely changing. i can't say that it's for the better. i can tell you im holding on to my lj for as long as possible.
Hand Crank Windows… UFF why did it take so long to kill them off… haven’t had a crank window since my 1980 Mercury Bobcat. Hated them then too… was 16 and they sucked.
Chryslers best bet would be to actually break off and go independent at this point. Axe the chrysler brand and just move the pacifica to the dodge brand. The jeep brand is really losing its reputation, i know 3 people who recently traded in grand cherokees (19 and newer) due to all the problems they were having. 2 of them only half way through warranty, didnt care traded it in anyways. Meanwhile my 08 hemi grand cherokee is just chillin without a care in the world at 137k miles.
I was just thinking the other day that ford should buy jeep. They made them during the 40s they could do it again. They could even brag about “ saving an American icon and saving American jobs.
The jt does not share a platform with the ram 1500. It shaes an extended JL platform.
I want that 99..haha
The reason Gladiator sales are down is because they are over priced.
I have one and love it. 8k under list price but it was still 2k over the Ranger
I couldn't get over the seating position in the Tacoma. Than the price. I think if I had bought a Gladiator, I would have kept it.
Love the Gladdy! So happy I was in the market before it is gone. I might keep it till the used market is hot for it.
Just bring back 4.0 liter inline 6.
100%
Or, the non-turbo'd 3.0L inline-six. My neighbor has a new RAM with the Hurricane 3.0L dual turbo'd inline six and it is a firecracker. I am certain a non-turbo version would be just fine in the Wrangler/Gladiator models.
They can't because emissions. And a 3.0 I6 without the turbos would make less power than the Pentastar.
@@nickh5049 give it time. Chevron just went down.
@@rocco3381 I don't know what this is supposed to mean.
I just bought a 1997 Jeep XJ. Suck on that, Stellantis.
Don't get T-boned at your driver's door in that vehicle.
What's your neck worth? The ability to continue using your arms and legs is priceless.
my XJ is an absolute beast, ive been waiting for years for the original 4.0 engine to die so i can put a hemi in it....probably will have to wait another 20 years for that
Wow, what a forecast for the future of Wrangler. It sounds like you are looking at a crystal ball and it is spot on unless something changes with FCA like you said!
DO THE VIDEO. I enjoy your videos. You break it down nicely.
personally when i first heard jeep was workin on releasing a gladiator i was hoping for a fullsize like previous fullsize gladiator
Make a 2 Door Gladiator and I will be all over that!
I really love this type of content from you my man
I own 05 Rubicon LJ 6 speed - last real Jeep, drove my uncle's Rubicon JL manual, it's barely a manual... This all has been coming and your spot on I see Stalantis OOB, fia and jeep will stay but the Jeep as is only survives if it's bought buy private equity, not Ford or any big company
Just got a new sub my man. Content on jeep is dead on! I had I Rocky Ridge JK and now have a 2023 Willys.
First watch on the channel, excellent video.
Hasn't been a jeep worth buying since the tj & wj 😂
Yea I second that
There are millions of used Jeeps out there. TJ, XJ, YJ, whatever, take your pick. Cheap and easy to work on. Find one in half decent shape and take control of your destiny.
I think Jeep should go CO-OP 100% employee owned and ran.
I love my 2024 4 door wrangler Sport S.. I just hope my 3.6 doesn't blow up like you said because I do idle all day
The 6 speed manual is optional. The automatic is standard across all the Wrangler trims.
For now. No auto in the V6 starting in 2025
I like the old jeeps. No interest in new autos at all. Manufactures have lost reality
I got a grand caravan with a 3.6 I love it
A fully electric jeep...
@@Minnesota_Vance With that configuration (fully electric), that's a lot of weight to throw at the back half of the vehicle.
You sir, are completely off your rocker.
personally i wish i could own jeep, and just keep it as pure as a jeep can be. pure mopar. i am not a fan of the 3.6 pentastar because of its issues with oil on the top end, and how it can vibrate itself into grenading the whole timing area apart. that being said, i think the new hurricane 6 cyl engine would be an easy swap in, and probably wont even need the 4 cyl anymore if its as bullet proof as the original straight 6 was. for the most part i love the other things the new jeeps have. something i would do though, is make the willys spec as the base spec. its just so VERY capable. and i would run it as the classic and keep it forever while doing what people want with the other line ups. best of both worlds.
I want to order the 2025 (Wrangler S) 2-door 6-speed manual transmission. I love to have the crank windows option but unfortunately I cannot anymore!
Just bought a 22 Rubiator 6 speed so fun
Love my 2016 Rubicon jku with manual.....no problem, throw out the automatic and go manual only
"I'm looking forward to the day FCA is not a company anymore" That day was January 16, 2021.
Yea you right. I should have said Stellantis.
I’m betting the 3.6 will have an auto trans. Later this year.
EV's are gay.
Tesla sold 1.8 million EVs at a profit in 2023.
That's more EVs than Ford sold in trucks.
And so is the name Troy.

I have hand crank doors and love it.

The Penastar motor IDOL problems:
They use a soft metal on lifters. The break/wear down easily.

Poor metal and improper hardening or quality control.
my lifters on my 3.6 are on their way out. the ticking is getting pretty bad.
😂 Preach it brother!!!! I back you 100%
The only reason why Jeep won’t sell the new 2025 Wrangler with an automatic V6? Is naturally due to the thousands upon thousands of unsold 2024/2023 Wranglers still for sale on many lots! No other reasons make sense! As long as they have excess 392 V8’s left in stock they will be available!
But the 392 are like $90k. How do you jump from $50k normal to $40,000 MORE for 2 more cylinders... (shaking my head)🙄

Thanks doug!
I should have worn all black for this video. 🖤 rip jeep
Just got a new Gladiator. If Jeep drops the Gladiator when it’s time to trade, my Gladiator will be worth more, if Jeep still made it. Just look at what happened to used prices of th FJ.
I'll stick with my 89 YJ and our 04 LJ.

The Gladiator is the coolest thing built, 😎 crank windows are sweet!
Bro the 3.6 is dookie. I work at Dodge/Jeep. Our shop is full of 3.6s that are ticking, blown, smoking, over heating and none have over 50k miles.
You nailed it. “Ridiculous government.” FKH! FJB!! Let’s go Brandon!,
I understand how Solaris did not help Jeep. Everyone forgets how much government regulations have also helped out with the destruction of the brand.
I lusten to this earlier today, just heard this afternoon Stellantis is going to shut down Jeep/ Ram/ Dodge/ Chrysler permanently …. Financially they do not see profitability of the brand. Who will buy jeep?
The Chinese, sadly. It almost happened a few years ago. Jeep will be a Chinese brand like Volvo soon is my guess.
6:16 did he say the 392 wrangler is a “Tolkien” offering?
Boy that South Park joke got around 😂
Ill bet stelantis gets rid of the 2 dr Wrangler
The gladiator has a lower payload than the ridgline. Let that sink in.
That depends on which Gladiator trim. Off-road suspensions tend to have lower payload ratings. But a Gladiator Sport S is rated for 1725 lbs vs. 1600 lbs for the Ridgeline. So not sure what point you're trying to make.
Not even the same class vehicles. Lol you will never take a ridgeline where a gladiator can go.
I am not a fan of a EV Jeep, so one question. When will they put EV charging stations in the back country?
It will be next to the fuel station.
6 speed, not 5 speed, they haven’t used 5 speeds in like 20 years.
Everyone that doesn’t know the markups are directly political are doomed to repeat history. Welcome to the old British colonies.
The electric vehicle will slowly die and be replaced by super efficient hybrids. Wrangler will always have solid axle front ends.
I'm not getting the connection between streamlining the options, and forcing people into EVs. That's quite a leap in "logic".
If you want a gas wrangler, you have to buy a 392 or drive a 5 speed. Everyone else is FORCED into an EV.
They are definitely destroying the brand. It's not rocket science, build good reliable vehicles at a good price and people will come.
They can have all my money for a 6 speed 392. But that won’t happen
After owning a 21 Wrangler with the Ecodiesel and 8speed auto for about 2 years..... I'm so happy I traded it for a 4Runner

I totally agree, We want Jeep sold off and you said the rest
Chryslers best bet would be to actually break off and go independent at this point. Axe the chrysler brand and just move the pacifica to the dodge brand.
The jeep brand is really losing its reputation, i know 3 people who recently traded in grand cherokees (19 and newer) due to all the problems they were having. 2 of them only half way through warranty, didnt care traded it in anyways. Meanwhile my 08 hemi grand cherokee is just chillin without a care in the world at 137k miles.

Yea like Chevy said " would be a shame to lose your car AND house to an EV fire" 🤡
I was just thinking the other day that ford should buy jeep. They made them during the 40s they could do it again. They could even brag about “ saving an American icon and saving American jobs. The would have a nice chunk of the wheeler market between jeep and the bronco. I mean they can’t do any worse than stellantis,!hopefully they wouldn’t ecoboost everything and design an ice engine for them.
