This is all spot on! I’ve had probably 10 wranglers (all Rubicons) over the last 20 years and I now own a Bronco Badlands 2 Dr manual. It’s way louder than I expected but I do love it for a change! All your comparisons are spot on.

I love my 2922 wrangler 2 door. It is brand new. Barely 6000 kilometers on it. It is a bit of a gas guzzler but it just makes me happy. Behind the wheel, it is a joy to drive. I am an older guy and thing of it as a very capable vehicle. Especially if you outfit it with radio communications. VHF and UHF dual band radio. Get one!

Great video. I might be the only person in the world who has ordered a Bronco, did so with all the bells n whistles and every dang thing everyone says to NOT order if I don't want to wait forever for it, for the express purpose of waiting as long as I can. I have a '19 2 door JL that I am very keen on keeping, so the longer the Bronco takes to get to me, the more time I have to set aside the money to buy it outright AND keep my Jeep. Still have so many mods to make and not enough time....lol

It seems like Ford perfectly addressed the Wrangler shortcomings in their build, and yet I literally can’t wait for Jeep’s response. I’m getting a 392 as soon as it’s available!
I’ve seen some reviews talk about build quality of the Bronco being limited. Thinner plastics, weak grab bars, and somewhat rattly roof.
Living in a dry desert with 40-50c temps for 6 months out of a year, the lack of proper rear vents was the dealbreaker for me.

I'm a former Wrangler owner, driving my 2-door, non-Sasquatch Outer Banks Bronco for a couple months. Your observations are quite accurate. I REALLY enjoy driving my Bronco! There's a LOT to love about the Bronco! It simply feels really good! I have the 2.3L with auto and I'm impressed by the power and refinement of this powertrain! Steering is excellent, suspension is fantastic, overall driving dynamics are thoroughly enjoyable! I, and members of my household, are always looking for excuses to go for a drive in this Bronco! It also looks great and gets plenty of attention.
    But there's a few things I dislike:
As the video suggests, I'm quite disappointed by the spongy brakes. In fact I have never owned any vehicle with such awful brakes, right from the factory! And wind noise - I expected it to be somewhat noisier than a typical vehicle but it's really quite intrusive at highway speeds.
The standard audio system is horrible.
The electronic gauge cluster is not appealing to me.
Ford's configuration didn't allow me to add heated steering wheel and upgraded audio without spending thousands on a package that I didn't want. I shouldn't have to spend thousands of dollars just to get a heated steering wheel!!!
Rear seats folding mechanism is awkward and difficult and doesn't even fold completely flat.
Front seat comfort - The Bronco seat feels a little shallow for my long legs. Wrangler's seats are more comfortable to me.
Rear swing gate - I hate the gas shock! I don't like feeling that the gas shock is actually resisting my effort to open the swing gate!
Despite my complaints, I'm ecstatic with the Bronco and wholeheartedly believe it's the better choice for the vast majority of people, when compared to the Wrangler.

Got a 4xe on order and I was having second thoughts about it because the seats, I’ve found many vehicles have too shallow of a seat for longer legs. Your post just made me feel better about my decision. Thank you!

Really enjoyed this comparison video. After driving a wrangler for a few years now ('16 JKU) I am not a huge fan of the solid front axle and steering box situation for my daily driver. Sure once Im offroad with the sway bar disconnected and aired down below 20 psi its smooth as butter. However, It is almost paid off so I will stick with the Wrangler 😃

I drove a Tj in high school and it was rough and barebones. My sister has a Jk and it's honestly not that much better. That said I was totally SHOCKED by how much better the JL is on road compared to my sister's JK when I test drove one. I had written off Wranglers but that JL Rubicon was super nice riding and had a fantastic interior that is much better than the JK and it has me thinking...
I also drove the turbo 4 cylinder and it felt much better than the V6 in my opinion. The torquey feeling around town made it feel much quicker than I was expecting it to be.

According to You Tube videos the Bronco, and Ford products in general, have significant quality control issues. I own a 2015 Jeep JK 3.6L 2 Dr. I don’t have any issues or complaints with my JK, but I wouldn’t use it as a daily driver. It rides rough and it doesn’t get good gas mileage.
The Bronco is likely a better daily driver. I think Bronco and Wranglers are both excellent off road vehicles. The Bronco has some excellent upgrades and improvements that Jeep needs to emulate and I’m confident they will.

i've got a tj. I don't daily it. That being said, particularly with the soft top on, i find access to the back to be the biggest issue. Not necessarily for people, but stuff. i took the back seat out and the back has a few odds and ends in it. If i go to the store for instance, if i want to put it in the back, i have to either toss it over/through the seats, or open up the rear door and fit it under the back window panel. With the soft top, the back panel needs to be unzipped etc. to get it out of the way. With the hard top, at least i can raise the glass easily to open up access to the back. Have no idea what the bronco or jk/jl access is like but i imagine it's similar on the two door models.

After a couple 2-door JKs, I had to go 4-door with my JL because the back seat area of the 2dr JL seemed way smaller than the JK, and my kid and her friends would just not have fit back there. I would go back to the 2 door Bronco, though. Sucks that they're louder on road, as I have regular interstate road trips to contend with, and the Bronco's suspension would be much better on the rough highways I use.

Nothing Wrong with going to a 4 door. I love my 392 wrangler. the longer wheelbase helps it ride better on an off-road compared to the 2 doors. but as soon as ford can figure out, or an aftermarket company can put a roof on the bronco that is as quiet or quieter then the wrangler it'll be solid.

I shopped both. I actually had an order for a Bronco but I ended up getting a Gladiator because I wanted more cargo space (with a cap) than I could get with either the Bronco or the Wrangler. Great comparison!
As we found out in Australia with the the VW utes,(and to some extent with the Toyota 200 series) twin turbos are fantastic for low down torque, instant power and fuel economy, but the horses are a little bit hollow when you load them up, and if you ask too much you will be back at the mechanics in a hurry!
Twin turbo ponies are fantastic, up to about 2/3rd of max load; if you need all those kilerwasps for an extended period, they are the wrong motor configuration.

    • @drivenmad2089
      @drivenmad2089  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

ooff. That's tough. especially since I don't have to make that decision haha. but I think it comes down to the commute you make everyday and how the roads are. My daily commute Is relatively short and on roads with a speed limit of 45MPH. Plus the roads are bumpy so the ride is better and you appreciate that more in the bronco and since I'm not in the highway the wind noise is not as noticeable. So for that commute, id take the bronco. Now, if I had a hour long highway commute and a pretty smooth road then the wrangler would be better and since its on a smooth road you wouldn't notice the "worse" ride quite as much. overall id say its not bad enough to be a deal beaker and all else considered id probably still pick the bronco for almost all on Road driving. hope that helped!

I love my Wrangler but I'd enjoy driving a Bronco for comparison (kudos to Ford for reviving it) BUT - there are no Broncos! I've seen a grand total of two on the street in the past year. I’m curious to see how ford reduces sound inside as jeep has had the jeep around for years to make improvements. And the fuel economy especially when cruising can be dependent on engine displacement the 2.7 turbo in the ford will take in less air under low load cruising than the 3.6 in the jeep but if your always pushing them hard to make power I’d expect the jeep to get better fuel economy…. I’ve got a 2 door 2.3 eco boost manual and I’m getting 21-24 on the highway doing 65mph (speed limit) my combined with some stop and go I’m getting 19+ and this also includes I have the for performance tune which gives more power especially if running premium 93

A convertible is always gonna be noisy compared to a solid body.
Arguably I think the NA V6 would be worse, because it has to work more to reach peak power, and keep up with traffic.
Where as a boosted V6 will hit peak torque much sooner, and get you up to speed faster.
If you're pushing hard in either, gas mileage will tank.
19+ is pretty good for a lifted brick.
My 4Runner got 16mpg when it was NA..lol I get about 12ish with it supercharged

    • @prawnstar9213
      @prawnstar9213 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Because the bronco has been gone since 1996. Wranglers haven’t stopped being manufactured since the boomers were born. However I think both cars are totally overpriced.. except for the 2018 and on rubicon with info system. The rubicon comes stock with quality and quantity options. The bronco interior I feel could use a sprucing and that in general the interior is lackluster, but the exterior is sexy in 2 door. However, the whole lineup is overpriced. They get away with this because it’s a new release of a famous car and demand is through the roof. If my husband didn’t own a dealership I would have waited to buy one when the hype had gone down and the chip shortage ended and went with the wrangler for now.

Whe the new Bronco was just introduced it looked fresh and exciting, especially in that promo video. JL Wrangler in comparison looked older, familiar and not that interesting. I am in the market for either the Bronco or Jeep. I think I am going to go with Jeep because right now if I custom order a Ford they said it would take until 2024 to get here and nobody in their sane mind would wait a year and a half for a vehicle..
I am hoping that when I get my Wrangler that after I get comfortable in it and keep it for a few years, that I won't feel the need to trade it in for a Bronco once the hype has died down.
The big thing for me about the Wrangler is how floaty the steering feels on the road, I would much prefer a more planted to the road feeling vehicle that I believe the Bronco has.
The thing I don't like about the Bronco is that it is in it's 1st year of production and I am not so sure that their engine reliability is going to hold up, I like the 6 cyl better, even if it burns more gas.
Wrangler looks better than the Bronco too, but hopefully after a handful of years the next gen Bronco will look a little better.
Also I'm only in the market for a manual, I won't do automatic, and from what I can tell from videos, people seem to like the feel of the Bronco's manual much better than the Wrangler's.

I'm smart enough to let off brakes some of the tires start sliding too much.
