    I'm amazed at how much all these quirky things cost. I'm also amazed as how we answer each one of the quirks with "it's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand."

    Hey Dino, glad to see you're back. 😎 I've got a 2020 JL with a few of quirks. 1. The 5" base stereo system has a recurring issue of intermittently not powering up when the vehicle starts. 2.windshield visors fall out of the mounting hole. 3. Very strange smell on hard accelerations even after 30,000 miles!

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh Wow! I forgot the windshield visor quirk!!!! lol
      It might be time to upgrade the 5" base stereo?🤷🏻‍♂️
      That smell on hard acceleration sounds ominous, I'd suggest asking for input on one of the forums about that one!!!
      Thanks for the feedback my friend.
      I suggest you watch the video released this morning to remind you about , still how awesome the Wrangler is.th-cam.com/video/PSFNlsY5A4U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MrQZ1q2raRzbbLN8

      @@CheaperJeeperTV I have asked on forums about smell no one knows. 😔 as for the stereo system, I wrote corporate about it since I took it back to the dealer twice before the end of the 36k warranty. Thanks for your feedback, Dino.

    Thanks Dino! I’ve always considered myself part of the curious and the quirky crowd, but That’s a lot of Quirkys used in one video. You really threw me around the seven minute mark when you substituted surprising for quirky.😅 You know how you get a song stuck in your head sometimes after hearing it somewhere? “ another quirky thing” is now stuck on loop in my brain.
    Joking aside, you’ve reminded me of a few things about my Jlur, worth a fresh look. Hope the quirks are kept to a minimum on that shiny new Sarge Green JLURX 😊

    Dino....good job on the latest video (as usual). I have an 2022 Rubicon and learned a few things from your video. For your info regarding the recall on the manual transmission. I received a recall notice almost 6 months ago and talked to my dealer right away. My dealer told me to wait until the parts were available from Jeep. To this day I am still waiting. I hope the repair is not to reduce power to the engine if the clutch/pressure plate exceeds a certain temperature. That was the fix before the recall. I hope they strengthen the clutch/pressure plate to withstand higher temps.

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback on the video. I appreciate it.
      That’s crazy about the clutch. My understanding is the clutch issue is ongoing. Brutal. Good luck. I imagine when beyond warranty, that some aftermarket options may hopefully work out better you.
      Cheers

    • @HikerAL1946
      @HikerAL1946 ปีที่แล้ว

      The crazy part is that Jeep mailed out the recall letters before they had the fixes in place. If I check on the recall status of my Jeep it says that I have one recall that is outstanding, but as I said the dealers are not ready to implement the fixes. It's a good thing that I haven't had any issues with my clutch or pressure plate..@@CheaperJeeperTV

    Jeeps are expensive, such sloppy construction is unacceptable. My son had a JL. It spent more time at the dealers than in his garage. He got fed up with the maintenance issues and sold it and bought a Toyota PU.
    I’ve got a JK. My issues have been minor and only a couple of things. I had to replace a gas cap and a thermostat.

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, sorry to hear about your son’s poor experiences with the JL. I put 200,000 km on mine, and my main issue just with the corrosion. .

  • @BrianVonClick

    Very good video. Man, the JL Wrangler is one gorgeous vehicle, but at the price you encounter for them, the number of “quirks” are really inexcusable. That’s so sad. Every generation of Wrangler has had their share of issues, including the TJ/YJ/CJ’s, but were so fewer in numbers, in part to how basic they were. I almost pulled the trigger on a low mileage pavement queen (a JK Rubicon Hard Rock Edition), but the welds on the exposed frame (that I could see), looked like painted over glue gun stuff. I’m both a loyal Toyota and Jeep fan. I currently have a classic XJ; that I don’t drive because no one can fix it. I opted to restore a 31 year old Jeep because I thought it’d be a sure bet. Wrong. They, as like other vehicles, can be very, very sorted in terms of quality. Still, they steal your gaze, and capture your heart. *I kept thinking, while watching, that you should make a comic companion video to this; “Things To Consider When Marrying An Inmate.”

      Make sure you check for the corrosion bubbles. If it has it and they didn’t disclose it, I’d reconsider. See this video if you’re not sure what I mean. Things You Should Know About the Corrosion Issue on the Jeep WranglerJL and Gladiator JT.

    They should be built like tanks by now after so many years of building them, sadly it took Ford to improve Jeep quality, hope they keep pushing them. They should be ashamed of themselves at Stellantis…. Quirky is your synonym for piss poor quality.. which sadly is associated with Chrysler products since the 70’s. Their quality was good in the 50’s in fact they were engineering leaders… people should demand better from them…

      Some people would like to be informed about these matters, as they like to make informed decisions. These quirks may not bother many and they can buy the Jeep confidently. For those who would be bothered, you’re right then they shouldn’t buy it.
