Hey is there hardware that goes on the front brakes like the rear brakes? I got Mercedes brake pads installed by a shop but the shop showed me that there was hardware in the rear but none in the front. Should there be hardware for the front brakes?

Heyy.. there should be some, I used my old ones they were fine and I did get the new ones but didn't end up using them. But I don't think they make any difference.

Should hardware be on the front and rear or just the rear? I purchased brake pads for my 2017 Mercedes GLS 450 from the dealership, but the dealership box had only rear hardware, not front hardware. The shop that did my brakes showed me that my front brakes move back and forth because no hardware came with brakes. They also showed me that the rear brakes do not move because it has hardware. Should there be hardware in the front as well?

I didn't have any in front but did have in back. I didn't have any movement in front pads they were pretty tight.

@@ThrottleGarage Ok, they were showing me how the front pads could move up and down. This confused me. Maybe they get tighter when the caliper is on.

They do get tight when calipers get installed and brakes applied.

@@ThrottleGarage Should there be hardware clips on the Front like the rear to keep the brakes from shifting?

Hey, I’m going to give this a try. I have the exact vehicle but 2017 gls 450. I have noticed something ever since i have had this truck for the last year. I noticed it on the first day after I purchased this vehicle preowned. When I slow down to make a turn, the car thinks about it before speeding up when I press the gas pedal. It is only when I slow down and have to speed up. It doesn’t do it every time just intermittently. If I am at a complete stop it doesn’t do it. It’s only if I slow down and have to speed up. Have you experienced this? I have seen blogs of other German car owners who have had this problem.

I haven't noticed nothing like that.

I have experienced that. what worked for me is when I changed the transmission fluid and filter I also reset adaptations. problem gone and has not come back.

@@jupapri I did that too, and it still does it from time to time. I'm going to purchase my gas pedal and see if this works. I have an appointment with MB on Wednesday. The gas pedal has an accelerator pedal position sensor, and from time to time, it goes bad near 100k miles. I have 108k on the odometer. I will keep you guys up to date on this.
