Yes, people can be callous. I was fainting once and people moved away and watched me fall. Fortunately, I was near a wall and didn’t hit the floor as hard as I could have.
It doesn’t, but he doesn’t know that and that’s exactly why she told him that. If he thinks they already know what he did, then he’ll confess because he thinks he can’t hide the truth anymore. Police use this tactic to gain a confession.
The last time I saw someone use a pen for a cric was when I watched Saw 5 and saw Peter Strahm perform a DIY tracheotomy on himself with his pen to save himself from drowning in the Water Cube Trap.
Its almost guaranteed someone will have a cheap plastic pen around in most settings, its easily broken down to get just a tube, and said tube is rigid enough to withstand the pressure of the tissue squeezing around it unlike a straw. It is awfully convenient though isnt it
lol you're right, it is always a pen! I'm only 25, but the first time I saw this bit done was on an episode of MASH 😂 The priest, Father Mulcahy, was in a jeep with Radar, transporting a patient when his tongue began to swell until he couldn't breathe. Well, they called back to the base and after a little back and forth, they then began to talk Father Mulcahy through the process, using a swiss army knife and a pen! 😂
Hated the way they portrayed her instead of just having her at least improve in the show. They have her do something right, then wrong and waste all that important lessons and talks to go back to this. They had SOOOO many chances with her character, instead they wasted her.
I didn't watch the show, just clips, but I have to agree with the others. Just like how some patients die in the show despite an entire episode being dedicated to them, sometimes people don't get any better even when given chances. It makes other retribution stories feel that much more powerful when THEY make it and others don't
They did it probably because they've seen it happen often enough in real life. They get off drugs, they appear to start focusing on getting it together. Then they go back to it. You see that happen enough times for decades and you realize they are more likely to die first before they change. Some people are just never going to get their act together. Their core isn't strong enough. It's like trying to expect a psychopath to not be one when the best they are ever going to do is fake it around you.

I love this show, but there's no way a hospital would put a Dr in charge when they came in with the patient. The Dr on duty would take over. Totally unbelievable, bad writing/writers... You think your audience is that stupid?
Apparently so. Not to mention the complete and utter inaccuracies (or more accurately, lies) around “medical grade Percocet”, which doesn’t exist, and how they could tell the difference on a tox screen, which they wouldn’t be able to do (It would just show Percocet, period). And don’t start me on the trach scene, when any real doctor would just use narcan. This is about as bad and inaccurate medical details I’ve seen in a show in a loooong time.
This is so damn unrealistic. This guy has a fresh trach and is talking in a NORMAL voice. You literally cant talk when you first get a trach. You need tons of speech therapy first and a special valve to go over your trach..even then your whispering. Source: i had one for 3 months
I know that is this show Dr. Choi and April Sexton had a relationship for a while. I couldn't help but wonder if every time they got physical it started with "ON MY COUNT: 1,2,3!!!.
I was thinking the same thing. If you do it the way he did, you'd end up cutting the bones that way and destroying the trachea. But it's Dr. Choi, so I'll let it slide.
If his dad had back surgery, and was pres ribed them by a surgeon and picked up at a hospital pharmacy, they would be "hospital grade" ( I am well aware there is no such thing, my bestie is a nurse.)
While there are medical grade drugs they are only given inside a hospital because they are more pure and stronger and require a doctors supervision. All these comments saying medical grade drugs don't exist are hilarious ...
dude dying on the floor everyone is just ejoying the party... they are just feet away from him but they are chatting it up with friends enjoying life. Not even looking at the man on the floor
Maybe giving him the price of the shoes will help? But maybe she just knows him enough to know that he is in that position were people simply do not listen.
Absolutely they can. Tox screens tell both the presence of drugs as well as the level of drug in your system. Hospital grade drugs obviously have a higher level of drugs in them. They need to be because they have to work quickly in a hospital setting due to them needing to save your life. That's why they don't do refills when you go to the hospital. Because they can't continue to give you the same grade of drug after you're doing better. It will cause a lot of problems with your body. What she means by "hospital grade" is just a medication that has more medicine in it than what is available in the pharmacy.
Lol this show is so unrealistic. For 1. I was a drug dealer and addict for half my life (I'm 36, been 8.5 years clean). Most of the drug addicts I was around were actually pretty street smart. They would have laughed at that nurses face, because.... 2. There's no such thing as "hospital grade Percocet". That's literally not a thing. Percs are percs. They come in different mg's and they are ALL available on the street. And any drug addict would know that the consumption of narcotics isn't illegal. So unless the kid literally had some on him, in his pocket or on his property that he brought to the ER, he would know that the threats from the nurse are empty. I get it, it's a TV show. But there are other shows that actually research the topics they're making the show about. This is just a cheaply made run of the mill procedural that's a drama first, medical second. It's like the difference between a run of the mill police/crime procedural on cable TV, or a show like "The Wire" that's known as one of the most authentic tv shows that's showcased both life as a law enforcement officer, and a criminal.
Does this show not have real medical consultants? Because practically everything in this is either insanely unpractical or just wildly untrue. 1. No doctor would instantly do a tracheotomy on someone suspected of a drug overdose. That’s mostly for dire situations with very few other options and where help would be unavailable. Narcan would be the go-to for a case like this before anything else 2. There is no “medical grade Percocet” and there would be no way to differentiate it on a tox screen if there was. It’s just going to come up as oxycodone and acetaminophen (the ingredients in Percocet) 3. Her threat of possession of a drug is technically true.. but that only applies for possession, not for consumption or overdose. There would be nothing to charge unless he had it on him. This is seriously just bad and inaccurate writing for a medical show. Obviously most watchers wouldn’t know these things, but that’s all the more reason to be accurate.
