Simple pleasures Dylan. Every fish that we catch doesn’t have to be a record breaker. Won’t be long now before we get some better weather & things will start to look up. Keep posting mate.
G'Day, loving your shows, thank you. It's been over 3 decades since I fished in the UK but still enjoy watching others. Some of my best memories are from the 70's fishing off the beach in Bembridge foreshore (right of the RNLI pier) after a king high tide washed out rotting seaweed that had maggots. Mullet and Bass were scooping them from the surface and my brother and I baited up with a bubble float. Too many to keep, we put most of them back.
Awesomeness me buddy, thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I'll have to get myself over there at some point and try the same. I watched a very old video on TH-cam called hooked on bass. Says about doing exactly that when the weed starts to rot😉👍👍🎣🎣
Good evening Dylan they may have only been rockling,, but they were beautiful rockling 😂 Well done , your braver than me, it's been bitter and the fish are few and far between so I'm waiting for spring with a rum and coke...... Thank you and best wishes 😎
Thanks buddy, yeah hopefully it will pick up soon. Be nice get into a few fish, might give Fort Vic a go soon, I haven't fished there for a pleasure fish for ages it feels👍🙏🙏🎣
As always brilliant mate 👍....for me like most always good to see a fish but regardless its the enthusiasm, personality , content that's great.... appreciate your time sharing cheers and all the best 😃👌
Some cracking bites there, I’ve always had a soft spot for rockling they’ve beaten the blank for lots of us, it’s not all about size. Take care matey, see you next time 👍👍👍👍🙂
Nice couple of rockling mate good thing about your videos is you post them regardless of how well or bad ya do .always hard in the winter so any fish is a bonus .also by the look of it you seem more confident with your casting too now you're using your finger stall .keep em coming mate and i'll look forward to the next one.👍👍
Thanks buddy, yeah it's been slow of late, but like I've always said, I'll still post every week regardless. It's been hard work though, it does make you try even harder when it's as slow as it is. Yeah the old finger stall is great, I may give the cannons a try as well at some point 👍👍🙏
Great watch as always Dylan. I quite enjoy fishing an easy mark every now and then, makes a change from climbing up and down rocks or walking over soft mud all session. Well done on the Rockling, you did well to winkle some fish out given the time of year. I know exactly what you mean about the lack of fish affecting the confidence levels. I've had two bites in my last two sessions and it makes you a little paranoid when uploading the videos. Nice one bud, see you on the next one 👍👍🙏🙏
Thanks Gareth, it was super relaxing to just chill on this one. Take the pressure off, and just have a play. The 3 bearded rockling are really cool looking. I've only had one before now. The fishing lately had been so slow for me. Mange a few fish one night, then get a couple of blanks in a row. In the process of editing two sessions into one video, poor fishing, but like you, I feel it's only right to show it for how it is. Looking forward to your next upload matem all the best👍👍🎣🎣🙏🙏
I've caught some massive wrass and bass from exactly where you are mate, the bass come right up to the wall there, you only have to chuck the line out 5 feet or so trust me. A prawn is a good bait or a whole crab, even hard back crab man trust me
That's wicked buddy, yeah it's defo one of the better known bass marks on the island. I'm hoping to try for a good wrasse this year. I've only ever had the tiddlers. Thank you for the info👍👍🎣🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors yes bud 💯 effort for getting out , I’ve not been for 5 weeks now , Easter is target to get out now , bens really kean to push on this year aswell and asked to catch up with you aswell mucka 🐟🐟🐟🙏
Well done Dylan👍 nice 3 beard! It's a struggle all over I think. The water temp is the lowest its been all winter around the south east which is not good for the arrival of the spring species. Hopefully it starts warming soon
Cheers buddy. Just thankful to a get a fish. I've got a 2 in 1 double blank edit next, whoop🥳🥳. It's definitely hard fishing at the moment. Back out in the week after these winds though. Be watching your latest this evening. 👍👍🎣🎣🙏
Nice to see different species being caught, last night was hard with S/Westerly and rain, only a few LSD’s caught on Sandown Pier, will have another go on Saturday tight lines mate 🎣🎣🎣
Hey Alan buddy, that's a shame mate. We were on sandown on Tuesday. 5 of us, couple of rays, spotted and an undulate just over 10lb. Few dogs as well. I did pretty pants though to be fair. One dog and a pout😂😂. Good luck for Saturday 👍👍🎣🎣
Hi dylan you ok pal, that looks a nice mark to fish. Well done on your rocklings to save the blank and specis hunt. Just b4 xmas i had 2 on a 1up 1down lol, n they was my first for about a year or so. All the best dylan from GRIMSBY.
Ah that's great mate, yeah I don't seem to get many last year I had two in one night, and I think that's it. It's a super easy mark to fish, can is literally t meters away😂👍👍🎣🎣
That was my lot fishing there, they didn’t catch much either, just a few pout, rockling and pollack. Don’t get too worried you’re not catching much at the moment 💪🐟🎣
Yeah I had a chat with a couple of them. I was thinking of fishing the beach part, but glad I didn't now, else I would have got in their way. Glad they managed a few fish though. It was super swelly on the beach👍👍🙏🙏🎣
I know that there was a double figure bass caught right where u was up against the wall meets the railings as when tide comes in there’s a whirl off water that brings all the crap in the water into that corner and on a big chunk of mackerel..there r fish ( big fish ) right under your nose..tight lines.🎣
Yeah man, notoriously a good bass spot, and some pretty decent congers come in there too, heard of some good bullhuss too. Seems to definitely be a fish bait venue. Thanks mate👍👍🎣🎣
Really enjoyed that video, nice to see a few species that don't get mentioned. As others have said, fishing this time of the year is always patchy. I'm going through all your videos as I'm holidaying on the IOW in June. We will be in Colwell Bay so not far from there 👍
Ah wicked buddy, reckon you must be staying at away resorts. Super easy access to the beach there, straight into my favourite bream mark, and they should be around by then. Hope you enjoy your stay👍👍🎣🎣
Couple of nice rockling Dylan and no blank, you got your target species, have you tried eating them? I haven't, didn't fancy them, but a pal did and really liked them, thanks for your time, take care, Norfolk Ray
had 4 blanks this year as ive been trying to avoid catching dogfish would be made up 2 catch 2 different rockling and dont forget march is pants for fishing but hey it dont stop us
I'm probably on about the same to be honest mate. It's been hard going. After having loads of dogs in January I haven't had one since, would be thankful of one on those slow nights. Super windy at the moment, so maybe after that things will change👍👍🎣🎣
Dylan, I have been on the struggle bus also trying to make good content for my channel. This time of year is tough. Nice 3 bearded. I need both of those species for my specimen hunt. All the best, tightlines from Anglesey North Wales🐟🎣
Thanks buddy, yeah it's definitely been slow of late, it does appear to be improving though. It's been a bit of a struggle battling the weather to be honest. I'll swing over and have a look mate👍👍🎣🎣
I wonder if you have tried a bait dropper from Yarmouth Pier? I saw that Bournemouth Uni video of the depths and thought it maybe worth a try. Will try when more species turn up.
I haven't, but I have seen the same video. Looks busy under there. I did think about buying a couple of the feeder grippers for bream fishing. Get loads of bream off the pier soon thanks buddy 👍👍🎣🎣
I made some large feeders from large size women’s hair rollers and some cheap caps. Gives much larger feeders than the carp guys. Ideal for bream. When are they usually around as I hope to fish a lot late April till June. There is no really good pier rods so I bought an upside rod that should do the trick. I bought a very large bait dropper made of metal on eBay so will try that too at Yarmouth Pier.
Hi Mark buddy, yeah ot really is, I should Tey and fish it more really being on my doorstep. I predominantly use two tronixpro competition match rods, 1 x gt and 1 x St. The St being the more sensitive tip. I managed to get them second hand. If I'm targeting bigger species, I pair the gt with a penn mag4 mixed ground. Hope that helps buddy👍👍🎣🎣
Hey Dylan, just catching up on all your vids. Would you use a rotten bottom rig in Freshwadder Bay (Soz, couldn't resist!) It looks well rocky at low tide round there. Keep up the good work mate 👍
You deserve a bit of luck trying so hard in early Spring. I've seen you say you put some chum out. Is that chopped up fish / squid etc or do you have a secret recipe!?
Cheers buddy, yeah when I have a go for a bass, I mainly use the head of a mackerel or pout, the rest gets cut up in maybe inch size pieces and thrown out. I see so many different ways for fishing for them. I guess it depends on the mark, but it defo works here👍👍🙏🎣🎣🎣
So we've discovered the formula. Walk away from the rod or talk to the camera and you get a bite. If that fails, talk about how you're not catching anything and you get two rockling or win a comp.
Simple pleasures Dylan. Every fish that we catch doesn’t have to be a record breaker. Won’t be long now before we get some better weather & things will start to look up. Keep posting mate.
Thanks buddy, really appreciate your comments. Thank you, amd let's keep our fingers crossed it will improve soon👍👍🙏🙏🎣🎣
That’s what I like about you buddy the glass is always half full, apparently the rockling are tasty fish, another great video cheers 😊
Thanks mate, very kind of you to say, always try to stay upbeat, never know what might happen on the next cast👍👍🙏

Thanks Clive buddy, glad you're enjoying 👍🎣🎣
This time of year is always quiet Dylan, and coupled with the over fishing problem as well, it’s gonna be a struggle. You did well to get rockling.
Thanks buddy, always appreciate your input. I was watching your uploads long before we moved to the island. 👍🎣🙏
Hey Dylan , please keep them coming ,it’s that time of year , Fantastic that you got a fish
Al
Thanks Al buddy, glad you are enjoying, it's difficult at the moment when the fishing isn't that great👍👍🎣🎣
Lovely looking Rockling that bud 👍
Yeah buddy, those 3 bearded look super cool. Like the leopards of the sea👍👍🎣🎣
Great vid mate
Cheers buddy, much appreciated 👍👍

Don't blame you mate, it's pretty slim pickings out there at the moment. There are a few showing, just not on my baits😂😂👍👍🎣
Enjoyed the vid. My favourite mark when I pop over to the Wight.
That's great mate. Yeah it's really nice down there. Get some good bass off the wall, but it can get super busy👍👍🎣
Thanks, Dylan, always look forward to your videos on a Friday. Tough at the moment, but not a blank and better months ahead.

Got to be in it to win it. Got to keep chucking em out aye mate, and we finally got a result today. France played well too👍👍🎣🎣

Thanks mate, it was a fun little session, hope you get your vehicle back on the road soon👍👍🙏
Nice 1 Dylan that time of year mate good to see someone catching something we'll done
Thanks Ian buddy. It's been really poor hasn't it. We went to sandown last night though mate. Couple of rays between us, fished over low😉👍👍🎣🎣
