Great video and very detailed. I have a table with 25+ year old woolen cloth that I want to replace and I'll definitely take some pointers from this video. The only thing I question is the extra trim on the pockets to hide the staples. When doing the pockets, why wouldn't you pull the tabs of felt down and under the table and staple from underneath? Staples are then hidden without having to add the extra piece to hide them. That's how the cloth is stapled around the pockets on my table currently.
Yes, absolutely you can do that (and this is mentioned within the Quick Tips in the video). However, it can be difficult to form the cloth around the pocket if the cuts are shallow, and additionally you could get visible cuts if the cuts are too deep. If you don't want to make the pocker liners as shown in this video we do have another video for a simple way to do it using just cloth and staples (this video is also mention in the tips within this video). hey Joe, I can't seem to find the link to the installation of the foam pocket liners. Could you help please? By the way, I see that you use the stretch index and measurements when stretching side to side, however you just go to maximum stretch for the ends of the table cloth. Is that correct? Thank you again for producing this video. I was waiting patiently for its release.

Hey, Joe. My backing is 3/4 " plywood. What length of staples should I be using?
I'd go with the standard 1/4" for plywood. In our Amazon links in the video description we link to a cheap T50 multi pack that contains all three sizes commonly used for pool table installation, and more than enough of each one to do a full table. Just in case you want the option to change to 3/8" if you're not happy with the hold on the 1/4". But I think you'll be good provided the plywood is in decent shape. Hope that helps! 👍
@@AverageJoesPool Thanks for the quick response. I already have staples, but just ordered the Irwin pliers and the tailor's shears. Hopefully I'll be playing by Sunday. Thanks for the video. I've looked at a LOT of them, but yours was the easiest to understand, and had great close up videos. I used your cushion videos to replace the rubber and cloth on the rails, and they came out great. The wife is happy, I saved a bunch of money.
