    Thanks for showing off the gameplay. As a legion go owner, this is intriguing to me as the features it has are something I could use. I may wait a little longer before I make another purchase but this is tempting. Also my mom died of cancer about 15 years ago so this hit home. Prayers up for her.

      I just got the larger x1. I have a steam deck but love the legion go because I love Lenovo as a company. As much as I get frustrated with Legion go, I have to say be cautious. Owning the X1 (larger mini) the display is better and I just like the 2 in one. But what I am giving up is tech support all the time and more reliable hardware.

    The fact that they offer a keyboard to match their different product sizes is admirable to me. I love the idea of having a small "netbook" that can game. An underserved niche IMO.

    Wow, this thing is genuinely awesome. It's like they took the Legion Go as a baseline and improved every little thing about it. I just picked up a second hand Legion Go for less than $400, and I'm liking it very much, but this looks better. Damn.

      Yeah it’s definitely like an alternate timeline Legion Go.

    My only issues with the mini is the 2242 drive (limited to 2tb max) the oculink port is on the bottom which means you have to lay it down flat which covers the intake, put something underneath to prop it up a bit, put it sideways or get a very specific stand for it. Also you cannot use the occulink while in laptop mode. The 8.8 inch screen is great for a handheld but kinda small for a laptop.
    Now the X1 is a fair bit bigger, kinda massive for a handheld but manageable. It's a decent size for a small laptop and has a full sized 2280 SSD (up to 8TB) only other issue is where the usb4 ports are placed, both right beside each other and on the same side, and one is unusable while the controllers are attached. All that being said realistically you only need one port for charging, hooking up to an egpu or a dock/hub while in handheld mode.

      @@chrisboucher2813 all fair points. I agree that they both appeal to a different person depending on what they need (as all things)
      I just happen to prefer the X1 mini because Im a handheld guy and mini is better as a handheld.

    It’s 1,000 at the cheapest. It’s going to outperform the Legion Go b/c of the extra RAM. There is no reason at that price point to buy this over the 10 inch model b/c at least that device is unique. It’s hard to sell the improvements if you can get a legion go used for 400 or something & the X1 mini runs 1,000-ish. It’s not worth 600 more then a legion go even if it’s got a little more juice. Just pair the Legion with Lossless Scaling & be done with it. I bought a 32 gigs of RAM Aya Neo slide for $750 & it might be my favorite device. No doubt that extra horsepower is nice, but what I bought also has a 2T SSD, & that variation of this X1 mini runs 1,150 at its cheapest. So I got something for 400 less. In short I’m not saying it’s bad but there is no reason to pay that price for that product.

    • @OwenOrsetti
      @OwenOrsetti 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Native landscape = top of the screen is the long side like -> [ ]
      Native portrait = top of the screen is the narrow side like -> [ ]
      A desktop monitor or TV is native landscape
      A smartphone is native portrait
      When using a native portrait screen in a handheld, the display is rotated by software so that it displays "sideways". For the most part, this is fine, but in certain applications it can cause problems, since the screen is actually in a portrait layout. Especcially in older games, and in certain games like Fortnite when using exclusive fullscreen
      However, small, native landscape panels are hard to get in the small order quantities the boutique handheld makers like OXP/AyaNeo/GPD need, so mostly they have to use displays made for tablets, which are almost always native portrait
