Thanks for showing off the gameplay. As a legion go owner, this is intriguing to me as the features it has are something I could use. I may wait a little longer before I make another purchase but this is tempting. Also my mom died of cancer about 15 years ago so this hit home. Prayers up for her.
I just got the larger x1. I have a steam deck but love the legion go because I love Lenovo as a company. As much as I get frustrated with Legion go, I have to say be cautious. Owning the X1 (larger mini) the display is better and I just like the 2 in one. But what I am giving up is tech support all the time and more reliable hardware.
The fact that they offer a keyboard to match their different product sizes is admirable to me. I love the idea of having a small "netbook" that can game. An underserved niche IMO.
Wow, this thing is genuinely awesome. It's like they took the Legion Go as a baseline and improved every little thing about it. I just picked up a second hand Legion Go for less than $400, and I'm liking it very much, but this looks better. Damn.
Yeah it’s definitely like an alternate timeline Legion Go. More ports, bigger battery, great speakers, magnetic keyboard… Only thing I wish it had from the Go is controllers that work independently when detached.

My only issues with the mini is the 2242 drive (limited to 2tb max) the oculink port is on the bottom which means you have to lay it down flat which covers the intake, put something underneath to prop it up a bit, put it sideways or get a very specific stand for it. Also you cannot use the occulink while in laptop mode. The 8.8 inch screen is great for a handheld but kinda small for a laptop. Now the X1 is a fair bit bigger, kinda massive for a handheld but manageable. It's a decent size for a small laptop and has a full sized 2280 SSD (up to 8TB) only other issue is where the usb4 ports are placed, both right beside each other and on the same side, and one is unusable while the controllers are attached. All that being said realistically you only need one port for charging, hooking up to an egpu or a dock/hub while in handheld mode.

I agree that they both appeal to a different person depending on what they need (as all things) I just happen to prefer the X1 mini because Im a handheld guy and mini is better as a handheld. Also, the X1 could never replace my laptop because I use a MacBook pro as my main work laptop (I know it's blasphemy)

@@According2AshShow *it's still horrible compared to AMD.* In some games the 8840u at 15w beats the Intel 155h at 35w! Not only that, there have been about 8-10 driver updates and I'm still seeing some of the same graphical glitches in the same games across all of the updates. This means that in many cases a game may never get fixed. I would NOT recommend Intel right now to anyone! Intel handhelds should be ashamed, because the performance is trash but there was no price benefit for the consumer.

They are Hall effect. The original X1 came with regular sticks. Everything else is pretty much the same. You can swap them between devices, but you have to calibrate them because of the difference.
I just bought the full size AMD version waiting on delivery. Pumped. Refurbished for 860 plus I got the elite expansion pack and two year warranty that comes with it.
I wonder if that can work as a gaming laptop and tablet aswell, I'm considering to sell my laptop to get this one. I like to play but I play a very little, like my laptop is used to stream ufc fights on saturdays when im not at home, thats it, and then, doing pc work when im not at home and to play a little. I don't use my laptop when I'm at home, I feel I could use this X1 Mini at home more than my laptop. Of course I would use external monitor and mouse and keyboard when im using it as a laptop.

It’s 1,000 at the cheapest. It’s going to outperform the Legion Go b/c of the extra RAM. There is no reason at that price point to buy this over the 10 inch model b/c at least that device is unique. It’s hard to sell the improvements if you can get a legion go used for 400 or something & the X1 mini runs 1,000-ish. It’s not worth 600 more then a legion go even if it’s got a little more juice. Just pair the Legion with Lossless Scaling & be done with it. I bought a 32 gigs of RAM Aya Neo slide for $750 & it might be my favorite device. No doubt that extra horsepower is nice, but what I bought also has a 2T SSD, & that variation of this X1 mini runs 1,150 at its cheapest. So I got something for 400 less. In short I’m not saying it’s bad but there is no reason to pay that price for that product.

My Friend was going to buy my Xreal Air 2 Pro glasses but he has that Legion Go and it is Native Portrait mode like a tablet so when he try my glasses it would give issues turning the image after while. It is a pain. He ended up not buying them due to this issue.
As well, native landscape displays can have VRR/Freesync. Which is a feature that adjust your screen refresh rate with the fps of your game. It actually makes a huge difference in smoothness and latency

Get you some Xreal Air 2 Pro glasses. You’ll get a 130” display.
X1 mini is slightly better especially in games that require more RAM.
It’s not a significant difference so you should consider other features as well

Battery is 65wh so at 15w tdp you can get around 3hrs or so.
