an important thing: HOW did you install the drivers and in order for it to work? Can you just plug it in, install the nvidia drivers and ready to without conflits? If it is, I heard otherwise..
@@ricarmig yes. Plug it in first then install drivers. You can’t install Nvidia drivers without the eGPU connected. What did you hear? It’s very easy
@ I heard that the first time you want to use it, you had to DDU AMD’s, then plug the eGPU in ( with a Nvidia card ), install Nvidia drivers and only then, unplug the eGPU and install AMD’s. Other ways would make a conflict or not see the Nvidia card. I had a Surface Pro and it was easy, just plugged the eGPU in, installed Nvidia drivers and everything I had it plugged in, it would load Nvidia drivers. I still didn’t test with my Lenovo Go
@ricarmig there would be a conflict if you use an AMD EGPU because does the Z1 extreme uses proprietary drivers. There is no conflict with the Nvidia GPU because it has totally separate drivers. This is why I specifically said this is the best eGPU for the Ally X because you don't have to deal with all that extra stuff. Where did you hear there's a conflict?

The comparison is over when you mentioned battery life. Who tf wants a 1300+ device and can't even have better battery life? That's the biggest factor for getting a handheld. There are other OLED devices for half the price like steamdeck. The new Lenovo go 2 will have OLED and will 100% not be more than 1300+. This thing is garbage price wise in comparison with other devices with similar specs.
@@crankyboiy price is definitely wild, but there are no devices with similar specs out right now. Battery is on the smaller side, but because the processor is much more efficient, you can match the ally’s 30watts with only 17W on the F1 Pro. This means that if you aim for comparable performance, the battery life isn’t much less.
Your just poor bro it’s ok the steam deck can even run half the shit this can
@@BarelyAverageDude yes but there's no way legion go 2 or rog ally 2 will be this pricey. The new MSI claw has almost the same spec, actually better, without OLED and is 400+ less. It's 20% faster with better battery. This doesn't even make any sense.
@@KD-wc4rs it's not just steamdeck, the price and spec ratio doesn't match. Compare it with the MSI 8 AI+. Also compare it with the legion go 2 coming out 1st quarter. Big difference in specs and is and will be much cheaper. But if you'd rather waste your money on overpriced shit than pay less for a better device then knock yourself out. #stupidity
@@crankyboiy stupidity ? Bro we can argue this all day this only a problem IF YOUR BROKE in the grand scheme of things most of these things aren’t really different I can clearly buy whatever I want so money ain’t n issue

Ally x is great. Best buy had 100 off on black friday fir the 1tb. Wait fir a sale.
The xfly with the 8,000 series chip, an OLED display 32 gigs of RAM & 144 hertz refresh rate is $999. Don’t get fleeced for an extra $350. It’s either between that $1,000 xfly or the MSI CLAW 8 if you are looking for a new premium device today. The MSI has a better battery & I think it’s faster, although I don’t know how much faster. But that xfly has an OLED & I’m assuming all of the benefits that come from running AMD software. I would not just completely dismiss the complete lack of that software suite when it comes to the MSI. AMD’s software be doin some things.
@@edwardlashley3572 if you just want to OLED then yeah the 8840u option could be the one for you. But keep in mind that the performance is still behind the HX 370 chip especially when it comes to lower wattages.

The difference is night and day. When I show my sd oled to best buy employees, they say they should be carrying this instead of the ally.

Thanks for the advice. We can wait a few months... @@BarelyAverageDude
Love the aya 2s, got two of them
The only panel I would get with OLED will be a portable modern that has a beautiful display with OLED because that means I will buy it if it has 1440 P with 144 Hz or higher then I’ll buy it lot of them they don’t have it they only have some so that’s why I don’t consider buying one cause they don’t have it and I got not gonna buy a handheld that uses expensive panel
I don’t care about all about OLED because of the prize because buying OLED is considered to be more expensive than LCD because buying a different panel for handheld is gonna be more cheaper than other panels there’s more expensive cause I am not able to afford it $800 or $1000 more which is stupid because some customers are just laying because they want a beautiful panel I don’t care the only way you can just buy is a stupid monitor with a stupid OLED panel because I don’t have the money because stupid inflation I can only afford it just to use it not use a stupid panel. It’s basically I’m gonna have a customers who’s complaining.
@@Russiangamerpro2021 the Steam Deck OLED is a more affordable way to get OLED. I agree that the F1 pro is very expensive
I don’t see many people if anyone talk about this but now that you show them side by side, I can’t see how anyone could use the Onexfly with how low the right analog stick is. There is nothing left to hold onto. So yea the device is smaller but you can’t cheat that distance. The ally x feels the right distance and is thus bigger for a good reason even though same screen size.
@@DJJEFJAMM check my first impressions video; Onexfly is actually very comfortable to hold and play. It looks like if would be too small, but because the way the grip is designed your hand ends up in a good position.
@@BarelyAverageDude wouldn’t your thumb angle be tilted too much and not naturally extended?

@@Liatin1 how much better until you consider upgrading?
@@BarelyAverageDude I think it'd have to be a noticeable jump in fps at the same wattages. Right now, Zen 5 perf difference is measurable but 10-15% difference in fps isn't worth another 800-1000 upgrade. I think I'll have to wait for 40%+. This is from a perspective of already owning a steam deck and rog ally.
I had both... I sold my Ally X and kept the F1. After playing on the F1, going back to the Ally feels outdated, dull, and clunky

Both serve different purposes. I say both are worth it
@BarelyAverageDude thanks I'll be buying both in 2025 but can you please compare the Asus Rog ally x to a gaming laptop?
@@TheBigLClaptop will always win performance and productivity, Ally X wins in portability and efficiency
Man give me the ally with a slightly bigger oled display and I’ll buy it in a heartbeat. I just hated how small the screen is
Sounds like the legion Go 2 rumors with OLED
but there is information that with Oled you can not have VRR. Personnally if i have to choose, i would choose VRR over Oled.
@@namduonghoang2931 you can have OLED and VRR (some laptops and gaming monitors have both), but it’s not cheap and we’ve never seen it on a handheld
@BarelyAverageDude you would have amoled and vrr phones have it
@@Sonsofanarchyrules678 if you want to go to AMOLED then yeah it’ll definitely be more expensive. It would still have to be a custom display that we’ve never seen before because phones are very mature market as far as a manufacturing standpoint and you couldn’t just take a phone display and put it on a handheld.
Better be $500 worth of higher performance cause ain't no way in paying that much.
$500 for only about 20% more performance does not feel worth it
How much would you factor OLED into the calculation? For reference; if there was an OLED Ally X, how much more would you pay than the normal Ally X?
@BarelyAverageDude I would say at most $200 more for an oled screen, though I also don't know how much it costs to produce. You're also losing vrr and battery life with the onexfly, so I feel like 1100 would be more reasonable. From what I've heard, AMD is mainly to blame for the Hx 370 price increases
@ yeah I’m with you. These smaller companies are struggling to make reasonable prices with the new chips. Not saying it’s an excuse to pay more, but with lower volumes, it’s hard to get the price down
@@BarelyAverageDude yeah I have to respect Onexplayer for pushing the envelope but man are they are pricey

Don’t use frame generation in benchmarks. It shouldn’t be enabled with a base frame rate below 60, and these devices aren’t hitting that.
Ally X still wins because of 80wh battery. If you are always required to plug in will beat the purpose of being a handheld
Yup the Onex only has a 48.5Wh capacity battery which is ridiculously small. It doesn’t make sense to have all that power in a handheld if it only last 45 minutes on a full charge
@@I3aMb00even at 30w you still get over an hr on the F1 pro (1hr 10mins)
In most situation your not going to be playing that long for me personally I work in my car so I can plug in half the time and at home ofc I got a laptop
Yeah but you need less wattage on the F1 to match the same performance of the Ally. That helps. Then again the F1 is more portable due to smaller size so a compromise had to be made to battery size.

I can’t unsee my rog ally x bezel’s after watching ur video 😢
true....but the bezel-topic on the ally x was already a thing, even before this comparison. and by looking at the MSI Claw 8 AI + it doesn't seem to get better since the bezels there are also huge. But hey, at least they get less "prominent" to our eyes as the display size seems to grow with the next-gen of handhelds.
Damn. I thought the ally was small it actually looks big sitting next to that onexfly
I hope we don't go too small. I actually like a steamdeck sized handheld. Like, I have a wii u tablet 😅.
Ally X is actually medium considering all the handheld PCs available right now.
@@X862go steam deck def the most comfortable. Doesn't need a case or.anything it's the perfect design. I love the ally x but as soon as I got it I wanted a grip case to give me more to hold on to. Legion go has a good design too I like the way that one feels

Idk that looks too small are those switch sticks 🤔.
@@X862gosticks are bigger than switch but slightly smaller than Xbox sticks

What are your thoughts on the ayaneo3? Good work btw brother
@@SamuelHarris-f8z the Ayaneo 3 is next level! The interchangeable controller modules look amazing!
I have both of them. The Onexfly is better in every way except for the 80w battery of the Ally X.
I bet with the 15watt you get much better framerates than rog ally x on 30watt.... so that kind of mitigates the battery life
@@Ifalvarado it takes about 18w to beat the Ally at 25/30w but yes the new processor is much more efficient.
I also bought one and i gotta say the fan noise is really loud even on idle just watching netflix plugged to monitor. Gaming on it is way better than steam deck though, poe 2 on steam deck is a very bad experience while this device kills it. The only downside for me is the fan noise and the right analog is placed a bit too low for me
Software-wise, I actually prefer OneXPlayer. It's everything you need on one screen, and the launcher does everything you need as well. Battery life is more equal than people think. The F1 at 15W performs better than the Ally at 25W. The Ally X at 25W does offer slightly more battery life, though it's not drastic; we're talking about an extra 15 minutes. So if you're playing in turbo mode all the time on the Ally, you probably won't notice the decrease in battery size.
Armory crate has gotten crazy good this year.
Fl placement of controls look uncomfortable compared rog ally x .
Sticks look tiny
How is your latency on this? Tried running AC Odyssey on my Legion GO and using VD on Quest 3 but latency was bad
No one ever mentions controls when discussing the onexfly. The offset controls are more exaggerated. How does that feel compared to the ally x? What about the dpad and the triggers etc? What about the sound? I don’t want a good device with terrible audio.
@@illogik f1 pro sounds great! 👍🏽
That bezel and lcd is unacceptable. And when hdr comes for the f1. The rog x is a non device.
