@BareAverageDude You mentioned doing a video showing the grip you ordered for the max 2. But you didn't update us on that yet
I have got the max 2 but how do you guys game on it? Doesn't it get hot in your in your grip? Why isn't anyone mentioning that?
It doesn’t get very hot in my experience. You may want to adjust the fan curve. Mine doesn’t even go over 70° at 30w TDP
Ipad pro is more expensive than the Rog Ally, Legion Go, or Steamdeck so having an $1k ipad pro to replace a PC handheld is a bad idea.
Not a bad idea if I want to travel with just 1 device. It definitely can’t replace a PC for serious gaming, but I had fun for the whole week. 👍🏽🤷🏽♂️
I bought mine. This is dope.
So my biggest problem with all these cases is that you're someone with bigger hands the palm swells aren't big enough on the case is that something that this takes care of it looks like it's pretty slim
What is that neat overlay you use to display the FPS etc.?
Another dock that may work is the Ayaneo multi docking station since the USB C can be adjusted to fit other devices. Maybe a review in the future? 🤞
I actually bought it to test but it doesn’t fit very well so I sent it back.
For the price? It's gotta be the Legion Go.
It’s more likely that the 3 step boosting causes the overheat. Like first it’s 50w tdp then it scales down to 30w “long boost” and that’s when the teperature stabilizes. That’s why I just use manual 30W limit as there is no reason to have 50-40w for like 2-3 minutes just to heat the device up.
lol ipad os? enjoy biggest cra p ever 😂😂😂
I have a galaxy tab as well; there’s not many apps that take advantage of the power on either side. 🤷🏽♂️
Any idea if the killswitch case will work on the ally x?
Was gta on the app store or an emulator?
App store. It's been available on iOS and android for years. 👍🏾
I’ve got a Deck OLED and will keep it until there’s a Deck 2 or AyaNeo gets serious and ditches Windows.
Please test something like Civilization or Command & Conquer RTS strategies GPD MINI to see how is mouse useful for games like these on it
Wow, I didn't think the colors would be that big of a difference
common man you have death stranding and resident evil village on iPad now that would make for a AAA game level comparison maybe for the next video, but I've got to say I would be interested to see how those snapdragon elite x chips are going to do in that space
Death stranding would be a fun test, but I sadly don't own it so I would have to buy it on PC and ios just to test it. 😅🤷🏽♂️ I can't afford that.
@@BarelyAverageDude oh sorry then fair enough i saw you hold almost every handheld in existance i thought this guy is loaded... 😅

What type of improvements are you looking for?
@@BarelyAverageDude heat dissipation maybe 😁
@@eiceys4612 it’s the same. Not sure how it would get better without hardware mods 🤷🏽♂️😅
What controller was that? Is it Bluetooth or did it plug into the usb c port? And is it compatible with ps play?
It's the BSP D8 controller, it's bluetooth.
just the title alone makes me want to commit not living
Ok now play Wii games with the iPad
Now, with new market places (at least in the EU) Dolphin will surface on the iPad ;)
@@axelotl86 No it wont. Anything above the ps1 requires JIT to run.
Cual es mejor, la mini pro o la rog ally?
Ally right now
Hello my friend, I have not tried computer games before, and because I play phone games, I am confused between the iPad Pro and the rog ally. I am thinking of the rog because it is a computer. Can I play phone games on it? Does it work efficiently on it? In your opinion, which processor is stronger, the M 4 or the A M D Z 1?
For gaming I would recommend a PC handheld
@@BarelyAverageDudethank you 🎉
If the new iPad mini pops-up with an OLED in the 8 to 9 inches range, it's gonna be the perfect match for the BSP D8. I play almost everything in home streaming right now with my D8+y700 2023
I would buy an OLED iPad mini immediately. I think the mini is amazing for games and movies on the go.
If you have 60 or 30 cap disable RSR
The new iPad is an excellent device, and it can handle ray tracing which most of the other handhelds can't. More and more big name games are coming to it too. Apples M chips are very powerful.
No matter how powerful a chip is, if games are not supported on it, then it would be useless. That is why Snapdragon chips are still not widely available on Windows, because a lot of software is not supported on that chip. I think only a few games are supported on Qualcomm chipsets, and the same goes for the M1 chip. Look at MacBooks: they are powerful, but games aren't supported, which is why there is no gaming MacBook.
After the debacle with Gamers Nexus and Asus, I decided not to go with rog ally anymore. So i went with the oled, i trust valve customer and software support over long term more.
You must be mentally regarded to compare an ARM processor to an x86 processor for gaming. Most games won’t even work on an ARM processor unless you’re using streaming or some nonsense
Chill. I never once compared the processors. This was just a 1 week challenge to see if I could replace my handhelds and still have a fun gaming experience on the iPad. (Which I did) I never said that it could replace a PC forever or that it was equivalent. 👍🏽
@@BarelyAverageDude your clickbait video literally hinted that you could replace all those handheld PCs with something that can’t even play most games. You can chill
@@50086gt it's not clickbait. From the beginning this is positioned as a 1 week challenge and a question as to whether the iPad could replace my handhelds for any amount of time. It's just a fun test to see what's possible. You must not have watched the whole video. 🤷🏽♂️
No I watched your clickbait video and thought it was misleading and dumb
@@BarelyAverageDude people nowadays...
At first I thought 1 was anti glare then you shone the light and poof, 2 is the anti glare screen.
Hey BAD, great review as I’ve just picked up the iPad Pro 13 it was what I wanted to see. BTW thanks for the Steam code you gave me sone time ago, any chance of having one of those handheld too? 😂
Lol I only replaced my handhelds for a week, I can't afford to give them away just yet 😅
@@BarelyAverageDude oh well, worth a try! Keep up the good work mate!
I use to do this with my iPad mini, a controller and Moonlight. People sleep on the app store, but there's a ton of great games on there. And streaming my PC took care of the rest. I imagine it would be even better now with the OLED screen and some of newer controllers that have come out recently. Another great setup is the Lenovo Y700 tablet with a telescopic controller. It's a hidden gem of a tablet with great battery life and an 8+ Gen 1 chip, so it'll handle upscaled emulation through PS2/GC and quite a bit of Switch emulation as well. And of course, you can stream the rest.
Ppl sleep 😴 I would never say an iPad is better for gaming overall compared to a handheld PC But it CAN replace one depending on what games you play. Like a motorcycle CAN replace a car for transportation, but not the best for getting groceries.
The Lenovo legion tab Y700 is the only 8.8 inch Android Gaming Tablet rocking Dual Usb-C's... Not those M4 iPad have that... But I see iPad Mini could be another contender...8 inch tablet for gaming... Anything bigger than that... No...11...12...13...14...No matter the person or gamer strong arm... 🧐😁🤣🤔🤯
My cell phone can play most of those games, then I replaced it with the G Cloud for controls/comfort and srceen I used to do a lot of cloud gaming but replaced that with the ROG Ally! I have an Amazon table that came with a laptop case and it plays GTA trilogy just fine. I mostly stream on it. BUT ALL MY DEVICES PUT TOGETHER COST LESS THAN THAT THING!! So that's a no for me and like the idea of an all in one device but I don't want the gaming part to be limited and tablets aren't allways convenient for every situation. But don't think that most people who would buy an M4 pro would use gaming to justification for their purchase!
Gaming is the last thing that would justify an M4 iPad Pro purchase 😅🤷🏽♂️ But I’m just a Barely average dude so I had to try it.
No. lol. Simple answer. 7840u was more powerful than the M3, and the next AMD chips will beat the M4…but that’s besides the point. Regardless of what a remarkable chip M4 is the App Store will always hold it back. They’ve tried for a decade now to attract developers to take it seriously and it hasn’t happened yet.
The simple answer is *yes* The long answer is not really depending on what games you play. What if you only play Minecraft or Deadcells, or Genshin impact, or NBA 2k, or Terraria? You can’t say it couldn’t replace it for all gamers. There are legitimate games available.
@@BarelyAverageDude if I only played those games I don’t think I’d spend 1500 on an iPad to play them. 🤣🤣 But yes, if someone wants to play angry birds or SpongeBob at ‘retina’ resolution and 120 fps, this is a wet dream. It’s a remarkable piece of machinery and design, like most of their products have been over the years. Wouldn’t it be incredible if they had figured out the PC gaming space and could utilize this power? It’s a shame their approach to design has also impacted the approach developers take. But as is usually the case, their design approach will only influence higher powered machines that can run PC games.
@@mattdoyle3857lol those are just a few examples I gave. But the point of the video is not to fully replace a handheld PC, it was a 1 week challenge to see what fun could be had by turning the iPad into a handheld gaming device. Obviously I’m not getting rid of my handhelds and I’m NOT suggesting anyone buy an iPad Pro for gaming. But it would be a lie to say that an iPad couldn’t replace a handheld for even a short period of time (1 week) Just like you can’t say a steam deck cannot replace a desktop because it can’t play at 4K ultra settings. There’s levels to it.
Wrong, the 7840u is slightly more powerful than a M1 and almost as powerful as a M2. I have a iPad Pro 2024 13 and a Lenovo Go and can verify all of this since I use Davanci on both and the iPad Pro craps all over the Lenovo Go. As for gaming the iPad is better IF the game is available on the Ipad since it's optimized for it since there's only a few Ipads compared to the billions of combo's for Windows gaming. If you want to game then get a PS5.. handheld gaming is not mature on Windows and you'll spend most of your time playing with settings.
@@miketran4289 okay so that’s a lot of opinions! For you! At multicore and integrated graphics the 7840u is more powerful than the M3. I love apple products. I love the iPad. I think it’s great that that’s all SOME people need. But google is your friend. Also RAM matters. And the 7840u can be paired with up to 256 gb. And yes….since this handheld PC market is blowing up clearly people want to game seriously on the go. Also PS5? lol. No.
Of course the IPad Pro M4 is far better and far more powerful gaming tablet/handheld than those other devices. Apple’s technology is far more advanced than any other computer companies.
It’s definitely very powerful, but almost too powerful for its own good. Not many things on the iPad take advantage of the power. Would you trade your PC for an iPad?
Are you restarted?
Simple answer…NO!
Yo! The new gamepad firmware fixes the latency. I’m Marvelous408sj on the official X1 server
Hey, question, Have you ever tried using a Telescopic Bluetooth controller with it?
