Meet our four-week-old rhino calf Nyah!

- We've chosen a name for our four-week-old rhino calf! Thank you for your help!
Our ungulates team went through all 1000+ submissions and chose the name Nyah for this female southern white rhino calf, which is Swahili for goal or purpose. This is such an apt name for this precious calf who has a very special purpose - connecting with you and your whānau as well as advocating and raising awareness for her species in the wild. A huge ka pai to Shannon Phillips who submitted this name.

Quite adorable little rhino, i hope Jennifer becomes a very good mother, its a very difficult life for rhinos in Africa as poachers believe rhino horns are sexually magical

I am glad that you are helping to save the southern white rhino from extinction and once they are all back up to where they all were once before they had all started to die out can you do this with the sumatrian rhino it too is also endangered only problem is that it is in the critical endangered list. And please can you also help the northern white rhinos too I'm sure that they too also need your help.

Yes there are trees that provide natural shade in this habitat. :)
