@@aryanaman3802 I think you need to re think that. If he had been taken alive, then he would have been more of a martyr alive than if he was dead. You would have had to guard him for the rest of his life, and deal with a lot of terrorism, while he rotted alive in jail. I am ex military and not a civvie talking shit. The best choice of action, was to take him out there and then, and not having to deal with all of the backlash from it all.
It would be interesting to see night vision goggles added to night maps like this with slightly less fov for regular dual tubes and an increased fov with the quad nod option and everything black and green when its revealed. Just a thought but merry Christmas!

@@Llam1nator Try TAB key to cycle troopers. Or get in the habit of clicking away, on empty space, to deselect current trooper, before trying to plot on another one. The plotting system is kinda biased towards keeping the current selection so as not to ruin another path by accident ;)

I think the devs should take some pointers from your videos & implement more strategic considerations - make civilians/unknowns able to turn hostile by picking up weapons or vests, multistory levels w/ stairway access, day/night vision limitations, drone surveillance, & terrain interactions. Would up the tactical ante & possibilities.
Really interesting, do you know whether there is an SAS Iranian Embassy Siege map, the plans of each floor are on the internet showing the locations of the hostages and terrorist's. If there was a tutorioal video on how to make a map I might have a go myself.
Hey PCG. You should try out the "Police Stories" A pixel-art indie tactical police game. Top down view like Doorkickers but you control one character. There is also a coop mode. Please do check it out and apply some real world tactics in this game. Game is really brilliant.
Note at 21:45 that you actually have long security on that position from your mark across the way. You could stack and hold 2 man security on each breach without holding security on that front. This would allow you to also move your rear guard up giving them the ability to hold a funnel from the breach, stairwell, and bedroom incase of hidden passageways. This is an HVT, a hidden hall wouldn't be that big of a stretch. Would also allow at 20:20 for a three-man clear of that room, one to clear the room and two to clear the side rooms. Better violence of action and speed with both elements moving at once. However this leaves your other security alone on that side breach so either way works. It's mostly a question at that point of what the boots feel.

I had much more open source material to work with, including the now declassified styrofoam mockup used to plan the raid, than the Zero Dark Thirty crew who had to do a lot more guess work than I did to accomplish their very impressive but partially inaccurate set design. My map is still only eyeballing it so shouldn't be mistaken for an authority on the subject either.

I've been watching a lot of your DK2 content recently, and it almost boggles my mind how close some of these tactics are to chess. Generally, you should always move in such a way that every potential threat is countered before it happens, and that each individual is protected by another. I think the biggest difference is that, since you can move multiple individuals at once, you usually shouldn't have to sacrifice explicitly to make a gain. If you do everything right, the other side shouldn't even get a 'turn.'
This makes me want to set up the mission to capture Mohammed Far Aidid, Somalia 1993. The 15 hour battle of Mogadishu seems a bit ambitious, but I guess the raid that instigated it could be doable and interesting.
Far as I can make out, the target building was a residence close to the Olympic Hotel, but the address and floor plan don't seem to be detailed, so I'm giving up on that. Might look for plans of the hotel in case that makes an interesting map, mind you. EDIT: Hm, actually found target building pointed out on "PMC tactical" website with annotated photo. References are non-existent, but comparing with google maps suggests the target building was in the block north-north-east opposite the crossroads. (It's supported by Bowden's book at least). No building/house numbers but it's a start I guess...

I gave it a try. Whew! It's a meat grinder with several ways to solve the puzzle. My dudes got shot to pieces but I still managed to pull off a 3-star run. Good map for running suppressed weapons. It has some issues with flickering geometry due to walls overlapping themselves and some furniture make navigation needlessly messy but that's stuff you get a feel for the more maps you make.
Man, can you imagine being inside that compound when this happened. First you hear a chopper with a hard landing, then you hear breaching charges getting closer and closer, then you hear a couple of double and triple taps periodically that get closer and closer, maybe a few footsteps and a guy with an AK blind firing through a threshold. Then you see a shadow.. then you see nothing. I just peed myself thinking about it.
It's so cool how you're considering non in game threats, yet real life threats. Like the paramilitary and such that would be acting upon the disturbance the US spec ops have made with the operation.
At 13:00 I thought someone would lit your guys up from that open breach up north, you were securing it with one guy with a poor angle only able to engage those coming out.
Apparently the helicopters used were stealth hawks (as I have dubbed them). Witnesses/civilians in the area said they didn’t hear anything except for the crash itself. There’s pictures of a weirdly shaped tail rotor that was left behind by the US. Of course the military doesn’t say it exist but we basically know they do exist. It had like 5 rotor blades and a lot of stealth coating on it. So I guess you could say Arma’s “Stealth Hawks” are realistic. Sketch pictures of it even look pretty similar to the Arma rendition of the Black Hawk. Either way it’s pretty amazing that the only noise it made was the explosion and crash seeing how normal Black Hawks are so god damn noisy. P.S. Literally just look up “Operation Neptune Spear helicopter crash” and it will pop up
Former royal marine commando. Don't know if this is being used as a training tool but it would be a great way to go over things during training as a kind of after actions.
Some reality check: there was only one armed combatant, the target was injured and was shot to death on the floor. Door Kicker 2 should have some more realistic engagements like Carmageddon had.
Great content. Keep in mind realistically by the books in terms of CQB is not always the best option for example point man will not always take the path of least resistance as sometimes it can put them in a situation more dangerous to them than need be.
I would love to see turn based multiplayer mode door kickers. Not sure how pausing would work in a way that is fair. Maybe some kind of auto-pause on contact? Because you'd need both sides to pause and if it was based on pausing and unpausing at will that in itself would leak information to the opposing player.
On this map the primary objective is to make sure not to find any clues tying the HVT to mossad in any way because that would compromise the narrative and our greatest ally in the middle east.
I keep seeing stairwells on maps, are they planning on coding for multiple level buildings down the line? Can't imagine that would be easy on this game.

I am not a pro, so I want to ask this question from ignorance. At the end of this level, you left the main building completely to head for the outbuildings in the north. Is it not possible that hostiles in upper levels of that structure might reoccupy the ground level and therefore make each space potentially hostile again?
i believe if i am not wrong they got in a shootout before they made entry into the building but i bvb could be thinking of something else, and Merry Christmas man
you mentioned that in this game civilians have a risk to take up weapons & become combatants. can you cuff them or how do you neutralize this risk? or, should they turn hostile, do they run for a weapon after a certain amount of time upon being spotted?

You probably can. There's a gore option that you can set at 0, 1 or 2.
