Great casting, original scores, great writing for each week, who could come up with the lines for the characters on a show like this, love is all around folks
Sue Ann was such a fun character to watch. Betty must have had a blast playing her. And then there's a great scene in St Elsewhere where a man from the psych ward who thinks he's Mary Tyler Moore recognizes Sue Ann -- guest star Betty White playing a rather serious Naval officer in a completely separate story line.
@buddy51 Believe it or not she was not considered a regular until the 5th season. She was billed as a guest star prior to that season I believe. But you are right she was not originally on the show to replace Rhoda.
Nice little story, but I never thought Sue Ann was that evil. She was too broadly played, and then there was that episode where the guy is cheating on her, and she and Mary have a nice hug together...soft as butter.
Except this isn't correct. Bette White and Valerie Harper were both on Season 4 of the series. Mary's assertion that Bette was brought on as a replacement for Valerie is simply not the case.

Mary is such a classic beauty...
Great interview with Mary Tyler Moore and Betty White! Two great American Actresses!

Why isn't Mary Tyler Moore in more productions? She was excellent in her show and is a wonderful actress.
The noise at 1:25 scared the heck out of me.
Moore bar none the best ever
@buddy51 I noticed that too. Maybe Valerie Harper had already announced her departure and just didn't leave until the end of the season.

@cioccciocc this looks to be from the mid eighties during Golden girls
