I upgraded from CX 65" to 77" G4 recently. Also first time to wallmount, the hardest part was carrying the TV upstairs where the living room was and then lifting the TV to the wall(two persons) after that everything else went smooth. Wall bracket is amazing. This TV is super bright. In games I had to calibrate it to 1000 nits in hgig mode on PC because the highlights really pop already at 1000 nits. But this TV can do 1500 nits and over 2000 nits in dynamic tone mapping. Also colors really pop as well in both movies and games.
Currently considering upgrading from an old 65" LG OLED to the 77" G4 - and I'm definitely not gonna carry that thing, fortunately the local dealer will hang it on the wall for me if I order there.
Had my 83 G4 on the wall for a few days now, love it Here in Australia LG include a ~700x150x4mm metal plate to attach the folding mount to as our stud spacing is usually wider (~450) than the ~400mm mount, means it doesn't sit quite flush with the wall but feels much safer than one stud, I understand you're a pro and probably insured but I wouldn't trust only plaster to hold my $10K TV We also get both desk/table stand and the wall mount with the G4's
Hi. A great TV. I would love to see that plate! Didn't know it existed. My insurance covers everything that could happened. After mounting thousands of TVs I have learned everything about walls also. But I do not recommend any TV on plaster alone , unless you have done that kind of mounting many times before. Lot of things can go wrong.
I’m in Australia and got the 83” G4 also, was a hell of a sale they had on! I had the same problem as you re stud location, but wanted it flush I had to cut into the wall and add some extra studs. End up putting a picture frame around the whole thing. Looks clean. What an awesome TV!

I live in Finland and can only get Toggler Snaptoggle. I’m not sure whether to go with M5 or M6 since I have to order a minimum batch of 20 pieces. I don’t have the TV at home yet, but I want everything to be prepared before mounting it. The wall is a simple 10-12mm thick "gipsvägg" (drywall), though I’m not entirely sure of the exact thickness. I’m quite concerned about mounting a 77-inch, 36kg TV on such a thin wall.
I’ll be getting this exact TV. Do you think it can be mounted to the drywall? I am afraid that where I’d like to mount it precisely, I may not find studs. Great video, I must say!
@ thanks for the response. I have mounted quite a few things on drywall, some heavy and some light, so I am familiar with mounting techniques for drywalls. But never something as heavy as this 100 lb TV. Given your experience, can I expect drywall material to behave similar to plaster for mounting purposes?
The new OLEDs from LG brighten the colors and lose details. I think you would be very surprised because in my opinion it looks worse. I gave away my C3 and the LG C2 turned out to be much better

Great video! Getting my 83" G4 next week and can't wait. We have acoustic wood paneling on the wall, and concrete wall underneath. Do you think there will be any issues getting the tv mounted correctly and safely since the paneling has wood and fabric backing? Contemplating if I should ask the company mounting the tv to maybe saw and cut wall paneling off right where the mount will go and add some plywood to get the mount as far out from the wall as the wood paneling goes before installing it...
Hi There, I'm looking into getting the 65' G4, however, the wall mount version is out of stock, and only the stand version is available (in the UK through LG website). Could you please recommend alternative wall mount? I know it looks super slim and smart when it's with the orginal one, however, we have our dining table on the site, and we would like to be able to rotate the TV towards it, which will be I would say 30-45 degrees rotation, which I don't think the normal mount covers anyway. Have LG C1 OLED for 4 years and pixels ready burned where is static tv icons, helped just warranty. Warranty man told that all oled panels is burning pixels, so you should extand warranty anyway for this tvs.

Hey Oslo, Do you think its fine to place the LG 77 on a swivel wall mount - I had the company say only to fix it it flush to the wall. Id prefer to use a Dream Mount swivel wall mount and have the flexibility. They say its best to leave it flush so your not potentially moving the OLED TV and damaging the screen. cheers

Hi, I have the 77" G4 and sit exactly 10feet nose to screen. Im in the 🇬🇧 and use a BT (British Telecom) 4k Pro box (but only has one 4k HDR channel for football 😅 It has approximately 160 channels available plus apps. Half of them are 720p rest HD. I have increased the sharpness to 50 max available (had to, otherwise picture not sharp enough) That could be my eyes though (don't use glasses for TV viewing btw) other users might not agree with my settings but works for me. I use Filmmaker mode and tweak colour to 60 from 50. The picture for 720p and HD is superb........4k, 4k HDR is absolutely incredible. But best picture by far is Dolby vision and there's a lot of DV available from Netflix, Disney etc. This picture mode is if the scale. Motion is incredible too, best I've EVER seen and I've had TV and cinema as my hobby since I was 15 and I'm 62 now. Hope this helps 🤗

Hi. They are 100% flush with the wall. But the TV in this video is not flushed. The costumer hade som cables challenges in the back that needed to be taken care of later.
Did you go into a wood stud or metal stud? If you are using just the drywall how come the weight doesn't just rip the drywall out of the wall? It was an excellent and truly beneficial video. You are excellent mechanic.
Hi. Thanks. No studs were used in this video. The force of the tv is downwards so as long as you use the correct plugs it will not fall down. I use the most expensive ones on the market, they are great for this kind of job.

@@yuriw777 There are no holes for screws in the middle of this bracket. As long as you hit one stud you are fine. It dosent matter where you hit the stud.

Hi. I use 4 screws on this one. The socks hides the fact that I almost got no idea of what I'm doing.😅 The plugs I'm using are german and extremely strong, you guys know your plugs, I would never do this with any other plugs. I use them every day.
@@oslotvmontering Yes, I know these dowels are very good and many colleagues use them. But I don't trust the 12mm Rigips-Wall 😂. I use 3 OLED TVs here, including a 65G3, which I hung on a solid brick wall by myself, and I still used 8 dowels/screws .
To put only 4 screws instead of 8 for a TV of this size is not only unsafe but also impolite. The manufacturer includes 8 screws to reduce risks and specifies this in the manual for the worst-case scenario - and this is exactly the worst-case scenario: an empty, single-layer drywall...
Hi. I use 4 screws because of safety. When mounting on plaster wall with no studs the distance between each plug needs to be no less than 10 centimeters. Because of the small size of the mount, I cannot use more than 4, and because of the plugs I'm using, 4 is enough. 2 of those can hold a person. 8 screws on this mount would make the plaster crack between the plugs, and that is not safe at all.
@@oslotvmontering The load-bearing capacity of screws depends on the thickness of the drywall, ranging from approximately 17-72 kg. However, if the TV is left tilted (for cable management), the incline combined with increasing weight and its static load might cause unexpected issues. I couldn't find information about a 10 cm gap (hopefully, you don't mean 2x4 cm) in the official specifications, and I don't understand how this could adversely affect the mount? My second question is: why did you choose, contrary to the instructions, to drill into the elongated mounting slot of the plate, which has a larger circular entry point for the screw, and use a washer? 🤔
@@anlemcsa132 I use the holes at the end because using those makes it easier to adjust the bracket in correctly position before fastening it to the wall. So just to avoid unnecessary mistakes, my costumers do not like unnecessary extra holes in the wall.

Hi. Thanks. There is a channel on the backside of the TV where you can hide the cables. If you use that one it will be flushed with the wall.

Ich würde einen 83er niemals mit NUR mit 5 Schrauben/Dübeln an einer RIGIPS-Wand befestigen. Die Kräfte bei ausgeklappter Wandhalterung sind an den oberen 3 Schraublöchern enorm und der 83'er wiegt laut Datenblatt 40 kg!?

The plugs I'm using are german and extremely strong, you guys know your plugs, I would never do this with any other plugs. I use them every day.
@@oslotvmontering Yes, I know these dowels are very good and many colleagues use them. But I don't trust the 12mm Rigips-Wall 😂. I use 3 OLED TVs here, including a 65G3, which I hung on a solid brick wall by myself, and I still used 8 dowels/screws .

To put only 4 screws instead of 8 for a TV of this size is not only unsafe but also impolite. The manufacturer includes 8 screws to reduce risks and specifies this in the manual for the worst-case scenario - and this is exactly the worst-case scenario: an empty, single-layer drywall...
Hi. I use 4 screws because of safety. When mounting on plaster wall with no studs the distance between each plug needs to be no less than 10 centimeters. Because of the small size of the mount, I cannot use more than 4, and because of the plugs I'm using, 4 is enough. 2 of those can hold a person. 8 screws on this mount would make the plaster crack between the plugs, and that is not safe at all.
@@oslotvmontering The load-bearing capacity of screws depends on the thickness of the drywall, ranging from approximately 17-72 kg. However, if the TV is left tilted (for cable management), the incline combined with increasing weight and its static load might cause unexpected issues. I couldn't find information about a 10 cm gap (hopefully, you don't mean 2x4 cm) in the official specifications, and I don't understand how this could adversely affect the mount?
My second question is: why did you choose, contrary to the instructions, to drill into the elongated mounting slot of the plate, which has a larger circular entry point for the screw, and use a washer? 🤔
@@anlemcsa132 I use the holes at the end because using those makes it easier to adjust the bracket in correctly position before fastening it to the wall. So just to avoid unnecessary mistakes, my costumers do not like unnecessary extra holes in the wall.
