Ur only saying that cus of his contract and how he didn't wanna be on the sixers after the whole team threw him under the bus when embiid was getting dominated by Clint Capela and John Collins
@@Sqeaky6969 I would even go as far as saying that Embiid (and Doc Rivers... don't get me started) are the reason for the Ben Simmons' downfall. We all know what Embiid said about Ben on national TV - we can only imagine what Ben had to listen to during training. For someone with the mental issues Simmons has shown to have, this is not an environment to thrive in (playing in Philly probably didn't help either). Embiid then went on to do the same with Harden and Maxey like a year later.
Easily in the running for worst superstar playoff performer ever, that'd probably be between him & Harden, and the fact he's always injured AND possesses no leadership skills. I'd like to hear a candidate who'd be considered worse.
NBA teams need to stop giving guys 34+years old, a 4-year contract. Not every player can be LBJ. Giving a guy in his mid-30's a 4 year deal is a death sentence. Let this be valuable lesson.
name 5 other +34yr olds that are on 4yr contracts right now. where do people come up with the nerve to just spout absolute nonsense. oh “his clothes are blue so thats why we need to put our pants on “
Facts. They really can’t see the writing on the wall. They should have load up on depth instead to make a run and knowing Embiid needs to rest a lot. Philly had the cap space and thought by signing PG to a max 4 year deal will be a huge boost. But PG has been struggling to be healthy. And their franchise player is injury prone.
People slammed the clippers for letting PG walk but now I’d say they were crazy smart for that move. My opinion PG is overrated and Joel is not an alpha leader. If I’m the Sixers I blow this thing up and build around the young guys. But you probably can’t trade PG with $50m a year so good luck
You obviously wasn’t watching the league at that time. It was given to D rose because Lebron was hated for going to Miami but D rose was HIM. Lead his team to ECF with luol deng as his second best player. Nobody was upset he won. He probably would’ve had more, injuries just got the best of him.
Derrick Rose at least had an argument why he should win on that season. It just his career turns out not to live up his MVP season. Embiid won because league don't want Jokic or Giannis to win for the third time even using racism to downplay Jokic. They even purposely don't talk about Giannis just to build argument why Embiid deserved it
I'll keep saying it until it catches on. You are not a Superstar until you show you can be the best player on a championship team. You can be a hall of famer without ever being a Superstar. The Superstar label should be sacred.
Lol so kobe wasn’t a superstar in 01 and 02? He was 1A 1B with shaq so what are thoughts on those circumstances what about ky in 2016? Who was outplaying the unanimous MVP?
Some of yall missing the point. Players can have superstar like stats or even seasons but until you show some tangibles (high performance longevity, championships, MVPs, etc) then you're merely a superstar calibur player. Russ has no rings but his consistency, record breaking seasons, and MVP made him a superstar. And even that can be debated. I agree to be considered a SUPERSTAR should only be a small handful of elite players each generation Personally I'd consider Luka a Superstar but someone most definitely can make the argument he's not. Then you have players like KD, Bron, Joker, Steph, Kawhi, Giannis, etc who are inarguably SUPERSTARS
At least Embiid makes the NBA media look like a joke with their terrible MVP pick. Only reason they picked Embiid is because they did not want to give it to Jokic 3 times in a row.
the thing about the joker, he'll make everyone better ..... if tobias harris played in denver,he probably won't become a disaster with that huge contract, bcuz the joker will put him a good situation where he can score & as long as he ain't lazy & runs with him, he'll get some shots ..... 😂🤣😂🤣-🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
I think this dynamic is always going to happen with guards vs bigs. A 6'4" guard in the NBA is in the best 20 out of 10s of millions other players. A 7' center is in the best 20 out of a few thousand other potentials. Any NBA guard is an elite athlete, smartest player on the court, with an insane work ethic. The big just has to be big.

This reminds me of KD in Brooklyn a couple years back. They had three superstars that never played in the same game until like 20 games into the season or whatever. I do sympathize with Embiid since he led the NBA last year, but hit a brick wall injury. 😮 That's why they pay you the big bucks, though! Shake it off and go lead the league again.
I’ve never liked embiid but each season he proves himself to be even more unlikable than previously imagined. His game ain’t much to speak about considering he relies on free throws so often. He cries for awards. He never in shape at all which leads to some of the injuries his fanboys in the media love to use as an excuse. He throws his teammates under the bus and lastly but more importantly he stinks it up in the playoffs. He is everything we think of guys like ad kat and kawhi etc are but these dudes have made it farther in the playoffs than him which is ironic since he plays in the east and has the better teams. He is also not the modern day shaq that title goes to giannis
Every time Embiid is brought up, there still seems to be a selection of fans trying to stand for him. He progressively gets worse every month and their take every time is "feel bad for the guy" bc of injuries and narratives. Too. Freakin. Bad. The guy's good at basketball and that's about the only thing he has going for him in the public eye. I honestly hope the 6ers never win a thing with this dude on the team.

I’m a big Lakers fan, and even I was rooting for Philly to do well this season. It feels like they’ve been in the worst possible situation forever. They have superstar talent, they just always get hit with bad luck or sticky situations. And as for Embiid, I’m a fan of his game, but not his talk. He trash talks KAT and other players but doesn’t even have a Finals appearance to back it up. Yeah he has All-NBA appearances and 2 MVPs, but he always shrinks when the lights are at their brightest. And he can’t blame his coach either because I think Nick Nurse is one of the better coaches in the League. And now Maxey is calling him out for always being late to practices. Like I said, I’m a fan of his play style, and I’m rooting for him to add a Larry O’Brien trophy to his accomplishments, but right now he’s just underachieved and underperformed when it matters most.
The Kobe/Shaq dynamic was an interesting and insightful way to analyze the Joel Embid situation, a surprisingly apt comparison. You actually took a different angle to the usual Embid criticism

@@0vern9K yes LeGM exists but Kawhi has really leveraged his health and injury management, which other players are doing now sitting out more like Ben Simmons and now embiid.
I think you have to give him superstar status after winning the MVP. How many players can you name that won MVP in the last 25 years that weren't classified as superstars? Embiid is a lousy superstar, but he's been considered a top 5 player in the last 3-4 years now. He's just a big playoff choker.
that hurts the Sixers so much with the 2nd Appron especially since with Maxey and McCain they have 2 Stars/possible Stars who fight for the team and could create a new era outside the Process...
i truly think embiid is a victim of his mentality. everything he does seems to be to get back at his haters, even when it is to his own detriment. because of the playoff choker narratives, he forces himself to play in playoff games regardless of if his health permits it. every time he plays jokic, who is the player he gets conpared to most often, he treats is like his nba championship. even in the olympics, he was a big reason why USA had the comeback vs serbia. hell even last season, people said he was ducking good teams and stat padding vs bad ones so he played in a game and further injured himself when it wasn't necessary. he needs to learn from his rival (jokic) and delete all social media. the talk clearly gets to him and he'd be better off playing with nothing but him and his team on his mind. not even a fan of his but it's legit sad seeing how many people disrespect him.
Hardly a superstar. Superstars make at least 1 finals. Dude has played with some of the best players and Marc Gasol made him cry. He's a stat padding free throw merchant nothing else
Embiid is the worst superstar ever, it’s not because of his game. it’s because of his mentality, he plays weak basketball. that’s why he flops, he whines, he’s always injured and if he’s not he underperforms.
Brilliant comparison! This video got it right, both the similarities and the differences. I'd say Embiid has been an amazing player no question, but he's also been compensated more than fairly for his work. Contrary to Embiid's very skewed perspective he's expressed recently, no one owes him anything. Winning NBA championships is for guys who wanna leave a legacy and are driven to obsess over basketball (and other parts of their life definitely suffer until they retire!). Clearly, Joel has discovered that he's not of that ilk, he wants to prioritize his health and other parts of life, too. Simmons was never a superstar and isn't really entitled the dude has nerve damage in his back. He never really acts any sort of way when it comes to basketball.
@@felixhaag1335 You nailed it. Loser idiot coach and loser fake superstar blamed their failures on Simmons. True stars don't do that.
@@toadvine7952 Simmons is a joke.
Easily in the running for worst superstar playoff performer ever, that'd probably be between him & Harden, and the fact he's always injured AND possesses no leadership skills. I'd like to hear a candidate who'd be considered worse.
Raptors demar Derozan? him and Kyle Lowry were the choke duo for years, until 2019.
@@ashwinranji8790I am not sure ppl consider DeRozan as a superstar
NBA teams need to stop giving guys 34+years old, a 4-year contract. Not every player can be LBJ. Giving a guy in his mid-30's a 4 year deal is a death sentence. Let this be valuable lesson.
@@JigsawBell lebron never signed a 4 year deal
name 5 other +34yr olds that are on 4yr contracts right now. where do people come up with the nerve to just spout absolute nonsense. oh “his clothes are blue so thats why we need to put our pants on “
He's not 34
@@nickpagano7134 Thick as a spanner aren't ya lad?
People slammed the clippers for letting PG walk but now I’d say they were crazy smart for that move. My opinion PG is overrated and Joel is not an alpha leader. If I’m the Sixers I blow this thing up and build around the young guys. But you probably can’t trade PG with $50m a year so good luck
Embiid about to be the worst player to win MVP overtaking Derrick Rose.
D.Rose is way better than him overall compared to this crybaby Embiid.
and he didn't deserve to win MVP
You obviously wasn’t watching the league at that time. It was given to D rose because Lebron was hated for going to Miami but D rose was HIM. Lead his team to ECF with luol deng as his second best player. Nobody was upset he won. He probably would’ve had more, injuries just got the best of him.
@@ray1992507 He just means worst as in accomplished the least. Even D Rose got to the ECF like you said compared to this legit fraud
@@0vern9KWell said
So Luka isn’t a Superstar, but Jalen Brown is?…Okay
@@atraina6921bro nobody said that Luka wasn’t a superstar, he 100% is 😂
Some of yall missing the point. Players can have superstar like stats or even seasons but until you show some tangibles (high performance longevity, championships, MVPs, etc) then you're merely a superstar calibur player. Russ has no rings but his consistency, record breaking seasons, and MVP made him a superstar. And even that can be debated.
I agree to be considered a SUPERSTAR should only be a small handful of elite players each generation
Personally I'd consider Luka a Superstar but someone most definitely can make the argument he's not. Then you have players like KD, Bron, Joker, Steph, Kawhi, Giannis, etc who are inarguably SUPERSTARS
They gave him Jokic's MVP. History will laugh at the bias of the NBA voters.
Jokic 4 mvps in a row!
WHY is it always "becoming" and not that he already "became" one. We cutting too much for these guys
Lol right before this vid came out I seen the tweet that reported Maxey calling him out

At least Embiid makes the NBA media look like a joke with their terrible MVP pick. Only reason they picked Embiid is because they did not want to give it to Jokic 3 times in a row.
Jokic did win an MVP that year, the finals, but yeah he should have 4 straight
the thing about the joker, he'll make everyone better ..... if tobias harris played in denver,he probably won't become a disaster with that huge contract, bcuz the joker will put him a good situation where he can score & as long as he ain't lazy & runs with him, he'll get some shots ..... 😂🤣😂🤣-🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
they did it because the race card got played and pushed him over the edge of jokic
Remember when the media moaned and bitched about him not having an MVP and the NBA gave it to him over Joker

@@dochudson9393 “as if it was true” it’s literally an objective truth though.

Embiid is quite skilled however but he never shows up when it matters most
Yea Bigs bodies just dont hold up
so cap lil bro
This is actually a very astute obv
Been watching this channel for a long while now and the quality never ceases to amaze me. I never would have thought of that parallel with Kobe/Shaq for the Philly situation
Giannis is the closest thing we have to a modern day shaq even shaq said it himself
Imagine what Giannis could do if he was on the Sixers instead of Embiid
@ sixers would make a conference finals lol
@@bobbobson8087 I bet they would've won it all in 2021 and probably another title.

At this point it feels like now that he cried his way to a MVP he's content at just existing in the NBA and collecting a oaycheck. With so many of the All-time greats you always felt like winning a MVP was just a nice consulation prize on their way to the ultimate goal.
Crying his way to the MVP? Thats not how it works. He had a legitimate argument, you people acting like he put up 15 ppg or sum

Great take on this, loved your perspective. Very insightful.
Players like him and kawhi are the reason why I don’t take the NBA seriously anymore
Softest the league has ever been... can't even play 60% of games (when healthy) this is a lot of players, league is a joke, imagine being a sucker who buys season tickets (or any tickets) or watches this absolute trash. I went from full on fan, to catch last couple games of year, to watch when playoffs starts, to conference finals, to maybe watch the finals to I don't even care. I hope the viewership gets so bad and they pay these dudes $100 MILLION a year to play 40% of games when healthy, then next TV deal gets owners (and players) screwed, the players will strike then the league will be done. I like how you start the vids with a lil back story 💯
BEEN WAITING FOR SWISH TAKE ON THIS NONSENSE ALL WEEK!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Every time Embiid is brought up, there still seems to be a selection of fans trying to stand for him. He progressively gets worse every month and their take every time is "feel bad for the guy" bc of injuries and narratives. Too. Freakin. Bad. The guy's good at basketball and that's about the only thing he has going for him in the public eye. I honestly hope the 6ers never win a thing with this dude on the team.
I’m loving all these uploads
I think its poetic that in a few short years after throwing ben simmons under the bus, his teammates are now throwing him under the bus.

I really like the comparison between Maxey x Embiird and Kobe x Shaq from a dynamics perspective. It's coming to the end of the road for Embiid these next two years unless he steps it up
I actually dont understand this. How does he step it up? Its not his game its his body there's nothing he can do to fix his body at 7'1 280
Idk why a lot of people r so high on Embiid hes never made it to the conference finals and he plays terrible in the playoffs
back to back videos 🔥
what is that song/beat thats in the background throughout the video?
Let's be real, hypothetically Embiid wins a chip, he still ain't gonna be respected.
Love when you do the cross generation comparison. Same with the Kobe KD video!

I think we are seeing what Shaq would look like in todays league.

Joel Embid plays like Moses Malone with a Dirk Nowitzki with a jump shot. Joel is nowhere near to being a modern day Shaq.

I like the whole video minus the guy saying he's unreliable in the playoffs. As a Knicks fan, I personally watched as every time Embiid was in the game, they treaded water; and when he left; they were the better team by a great margin.
The Kawhi effect, superstars have so much leverage over their organizations in the modern nba. It’s frustrating from a fan standpoint.

I think you have to give him superstar status after winning the MVP. How many players can you name that won MVP in the last 25 years that weren't classified as superstars? Embiid is a lousy superstar, but he's been considered a top 5 player in the last 3-4 years now. He's just a big playoff choker.

i truly think embiid is a victim of his mentality. everything he does seems to be to get back at his haters, even when it is to his own detriment. because of the playoff choker narratives, he forces himself to play in playoff games regardless of if his health permits it. every time he plays jokic, who is the player he gets conpared to most often, he treats is like his nba championship. even in the olympics, he was a big reason why USA had the comeback vs serbia. hell even last season, people said he was ducking good teams and stat padding vs bad ones so he played in a game and further injured himself when it wasn't necessary.
he needs to learn from his rival (jokic) and delete all social media. the talk clearly gets to him and he'd be better off playing with nothing but him and his team on his mind. not even a fan of his but it's legit sad seeing how many people disrespect him.
Becoming? He already was
Hardly a superstar. Superstars make at least 1 finals. Dude has played with some of the best players and Marc Gasol made him cry. He's a stat padding free throw merchant nothing else
Embiid with his Micky mouse Mvp
My favorite Embiid slander is the Missing Person poster that every one of us Nuggets fans still have.
Embiid is the worst superstar ever, it’s not because of his game. it’s because of his mentality, he plays weak basketball. that’s why he flops, he whines, he’s always injured and if he’s not he underperforms.
wait when was he even a superstar?
He is objectively a superstar
Brilliant comparison! This video got it right, both the similarities and the differences. I'd say Embiid has been an amazing player no question, but he's also been compensated more than fairly for his work. Contrary to Embiid's very skewed perspective he's expressed recently, no one owes him anything. Winning NBA championships is for guys who wanna leave a legacy and are driven to obsess over basketball (and other parts of their life definitely suffer until they retire!). Clearly, Joel has discovered that he's not of that ilk, he wants to prioritize his health and other parts of life, too. Anyone who *still* exists him to be the heart of "The Process" is living in a fantasy
I've been tired of everything about the 76ers for years. Embiid
Joel Embiid is weak. I can’t even be a Sixers fan no more cause of him
