Are there compensating cable anchored to the bottom to the elevator cab as well? Could not tell from the footage, however the counterweight appeared to have least ten or more compensating cables anchored to the underside.
yes it has 12 compensating ropes that attach to the under side of the lift car , these compensate for the weight of the main rope difference between top and bottom floor being when the lift is at the top floor all the weight of the main ropes is on the counter weight and when at the lift is at the bottom floor the weight of the main ropes is on the lift, so compensating ropes are fixed to lift to match the difference for better ride and to keep the weight of the car / counter weight the same the hole length of the shaft .
Roughly what year were these installed? And were they directly imported from Japan? Ive seen some 6m/s Fujitecs that were completed in 2017, and the way their hoisting and compensation cables are arranged seem very similar to this lift
@@garrymellon493 Thats nice to know, apparently Fujitec still has the habit of using many hoisting and compensation ropes for their high speed lifts. I guess that makes for a better ride quality overall although it might be a bit crazy to see so many ropes esp on the underside
@@garrymellon493 Never heard of that brand. I've only heard of Otis, Thyssenkrupp and Kone. I work for a company called SCS Elevator Products and we make buttons and brails for all 3 of those companies.
NO, MOTORS AND INVERTERS THAT RUN THE LIFT HAVE A RATING THAT THEY CAN RUN. THE MOTOR WOULD BE TOO SMALL AND GENERATE TO MUCH HEAT TRYING TO GET TO THAT SPEED ALSO TRY TO PULL MORE POWER THAN THE INVERTER COULD DELIVER , MOST LIFTS CAN RUN 125% NO PROBLEMS BUT NOT FOR EVERYDAY USE. YOU ALSO HAVE SAFETY FEATURES THAT STOP THE LIFT GOING TOO FAST , SPEED GOVERNORS STOP THE LIFT ELECTRICALLY AND THEN MECHANICALLY , YOU ALSO HAVE BUFFERS WHICH ARE FOR THE COUNTER WEIGHT AND LIFT CAR TO SLOW THE LIFT DOWN TO NOT CRASH INTO THE FLOOR AT SPEED THESE ARE ALSO RATED TO THE LIFT SPEED. HOPE THAT HELPS
This is a high rise lift with express zone . IE it serves G --- 34,35,36,37,38,39,40,41,42. Goods lifts and fire lifts serve all floors but it's not often a passenger lift does . It would take the lift to long if it kept stopping every floor it would never get up to full speed
It looks like kinda subway station 🤔 very interesting perspective
I can’t unsee it now lol
I spent 3 years on those lifts on the install. Great days.
If you set to 2x speed the elevator will go 14 m/s
The counterweight could have wrecked your camera😳

My stomach dropped at 0:24 😅
it's excellent video, very fast 👍
Naughty engineer now I know you know more than me cause you’ve surfed more lifts than me as I have just started fully lift surfing.

These where the first 7m/s in the uk for about 6 months way back in 2000.
Yes imported directly from japan

It's 42 floors.
It looked like is was going sideways LOL
It's look like a camera that we put in a subway roof
42? Natwest Tower?
My anxiety when I saw the counterweight 📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈
Joy ride?????
😳🤪
This is 100% 7ms Fujitec equipment . probably looks slower due to a better ride quality then most . like when you go 100mph in a Mercedes vs a ford
Awesome video! What brand is the Elevator?
its a Fujitec CP28 we are now replacing these as part of a modification to the new cp43

wow that counterweight came out of nowhere. Easy to see how someone uninformed could get seriously seriously injured or worse . . .
It made me want to lean back.
Silent killer
@@StephenHakanson I was just about to say that’s why they call it the silent killer.
Wow! Are you on some sort of cart thing or are u on the edge of a lift?! 😱
he is on top of the lift car
how many m/s?
7 ms

Guy at my college got killed riding on top of a lift.
como se aseguran los cables del asensor
Are the lights always on?
no they have been switched on while we was working, 3 way switch . car top, pit and motor room
@@garrymellon493 Do you have videos of the motor room?
You almost got hit by a *_counterweight_*
That’s relaxing
Imagine camera got hit by counterweigth of elevator
Best 🚀
Can I sing a song for you?
Wait! There's no doors on the side of the shaft! Is this a test tower or something? Otherwise, that elevator serves no purpose!

日本のと似てると思ったらフジテックか。ちなみにフジテック製のエレベーターは比較的故障が多いので日本では不評です🙂
Oh gosh.. I hate it!
