Very interesting how vertical transportation can vary in so many different ways! Lots of elevator systems in the office towers in downtown Toronto have a very efficient system when it comes to traveling by vertical transportation! It's called Destination Dispatch (this name came from ThyssenKrupp)! Other companies give this as their product a different name. For example, Schindler Elevator Corporation calls it PORT! I went on an in-depth tour of the MAJOR modernization project done by Schindler at Scotia Plaza (40 King Street West) and their Mid/High-Rise & High-Rise banks with double deck elevators (they are also called "Stacked" elevators there) and those two elevator banks' original Gearless Schindler 7000 models reached max speeds of up to 1,400 feet per minute for the High-Rise and 1,200 feet per minute for the Mid/High-Rise. Now with the newer Schindler 7000 AC Gearless Traction machines... they now reach speeds up to 1,600 feet per minute (8 meters per second)! Very smooth too! Thanks for making this video! 😊
I've been on that elevator in the Shanghai Tower. What was really cool was that they had someone giving a speech, giving basics about the elevator and building. They give the speech in English and Chinese and they have it timed to end at the moment the elevator arrives at the observation deck.

"Why the World's Fastest Elevator Exists" = Because they're jealous of airplanes.
When you put in SimTower reference, I wanted to sub you again. I LOVED SimTower.
Project Highrise.
@@chickeninabox 1:39 That is clearly SimTower's condos. Project Highrise was also just a building game, whereas SimTower was a vertical transport simulator.
Brits: It's a lift *slurping tea intensifies*
Girl, do you mean "intensifies"? Sorry not being mean or anything.
Cielo Abueva girl?
The ear equalization problem seems backwards at least from a SCUBA perspective, it's usually easier to descend to higher pressures and equalize than ascend.
I haven't seen simtower in DECADES! So it's hilarious you used it to explain how the elevators work
So that's how you make more efficient elevators in theme hotel. If only it was possible

"Welcome to the bottom of the barrel"
About time someone greeted me.
Wow! Love the throwback to Sim Tower, did you know it's the 2nd Sim Tower game? The original designer made a game called Yoot Tower and Maxis loved it.
Bro’s starting to take his videos to entirely different levels…
2:04 reminds me of Tiny Tower
Bro I love that game
0:37 Oh My God. He managed to put planes into the video
Lift-I could outpace any animal.
Sanic-Am I a joke to u?
Elevator: *exists*
HAI: I think we can work with this..
he still managed to put everyone down (the building owners, the architects, the tourists, the natives, the viewers) in a video about means to literally taking you up.
How do I confirm my enrolment in real engineering university city?
Me: *Sees the title*
Also me: Duh?
Me when the video finishes: ooooohhhh
“Why the World’s Fastest Elevator Exists”
Well, if there’s at least one elevator, then one of them _has_ to be the fastest one…
Most buildings I’ve worked with more than 25 floors had 2 sets. Half go to the bottom half of the building and the other set goes to the top half
3:05 THANKS FOR THE SHOUTOUT TO DIESELDUCY
Ayeee its my boi DieselDucy 3:10
GabenEvans Upload an elevator video
Why don't just fly a plane to the highest floor?
C'mon, it's wendover
Normie
Shanghai tower: worlds fastest elevator
Me: just cut the cable and you’ll have the fastest elevator
Doesnt work like that.

That SimTower reference is simply the best!
5:20 This is not the only reason. Another reason is that the technique of stopping safely from a high speed situation is more difficult than the technique of gaining speed.
Elevators are actually very interesting machines. More elevator videos please :)

?
I did not expect a simtower reference in a modern video. Well done.
