The Mets have almost the same probability of making the postseason as the Mariners right now.

I think that with all the holes we have, I’d rather us just trade for soft upgrades. Use the bottom of our farm to address our needs.
Rather than trade for a big fish or 2 when in all actuality 1-2 guys can’t save this offense.
I would like to hear what your legit realistic trade offers for these four you mentioned. And remember the Arizona GM traded for Paul and gave you 3 that have been playing for the club this year. I dont think they will want to take scraps back.

Something to ponder; the Yankees have been historically known for their midseason slumps followed by a raucous summer push into October and plenty of postseason acclaim for their efforts.

First of all, JP Crawford isn’t good. He’s has one good season in his career. I’m not sure why anyone is shocked he’s back to being below league average this year.
Second of all, I think the Arizona trio makes a ton of sense, but if you think we can get Walker without giving up at least in good prospect, you’re in for disappointment. I also don’t get why fans are obsessed with bringing Sewald back. He would not be good in a non-closer role in my opinion.
They’re not going conservative. Just over a year window with these starters as a collective group. I think they should as well but Jerry won’t have a choice. He has to go big or he’s fired in a year or so.

Brent Rooker - upgrade for RF
J. D. Martinez - send Garver back with cash and prospect
Some will say what about 2B - Split between Rojas (L) and Moore (R) this combo keeps them from being exposed so much

Can they sit down with Mitch Haniger and rework his contract to spread money over a few years so they can cut him but still pay him? Maybe a 5 mill a year like over 5 years. Just an idea

Ms can’t go soft at trade deadline. They’ll need to go big because the reality is few of these starters won’t be on roster in couple years. Their demand is too high and frankly Stanton won’t pay for them all. So the window is now into next year to try and get a chip. I can see Ms trading with Tampa Bay for sure. Diaz or Arozarena. I promise you ladies and gentlemen. This will not be a conservative trade deadline acquisition period this year for Mariners. It’s now or never for Jerry and Scott.

I would rather package the 600 ish ops JRod for anybody that is a solid 100 ops average player and some top prospects and a couple of role players.. he is showing he is a below average hitter.. defensively amazing.. but he literally a liability at the plate unless a pitcher hands him a tator
