    I have the new design shrouds on 3 of my S19's. I had to go check on them because there was no sound, like nothing was running at all. The new design is a great improvement.

    Nic, awesome 👏 content as always! Now I see why you waited to make this video! BTW I worked with John on the design as well and the exhaust seal is required to keep all the hot air going out the ducking, at a few of my locations I got 20 BTC miners and in the summer I need just about 100% of the exhaust air pump to the outside, large leaks causes the mining room to get very hot when you got allot of miners in one area, so John if you reading this remember to keep the exhaust seal!

    • @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE
      @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ahhhhhh yes, that does make sense. I hadnt thought of larger scale mining farms in small areas in hot places.. I agree with you!
      And yeah, I wanted to make this video in a cold place - I had planned on heating a whole three story house with a little cluster of miners in a basement; my brother lives in an old 1800's lake house up in Minnesota, but turned out they had NO extra amps on the circuit panel, so we went with a single miner in a garage.. But Im going to go back in december with a few S19's and see if I can make it feel like summer in there when its zero degrees outside!

      @@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE Nic you are awesome 👏 man, at my main house I also use a few S19’s for heating cheaper than oil or gas! Everyone should be doing this, but then again if everyone does my profits will keep going down lol, can’t wait for your next video! Truly different than everyone else even when you cover the same subject!

    not 100% sure but i think you would be better pulling air with your fan instead of pushing it. its harder to push air with restrictions but not as hurtful when your are pulling. its easy to test it, using the same maching with same condition at the same fan speed and comparing the chips temp.

    • @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE
      @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Pulling the air rather than pushing would most likely be slightly better for airflow, and the tiniest bit better for cooling, BUT - it would mean forcing 130°f air through a plastic fan; heating up its bearings, heating up its electric motor, and just keeping it hot for ever. That would surely shorten the lifespan of the fan.

    • @expertice
      @expertice 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE Great arguement. I will swap all of ours to push instead of pull. Been using a similar setup with home printed shrouds and anything from HG power to AC infinity fans. Imo there's almost no difference between the two, and the HG power one is alot cheaper.

    Is there a way to make the fan shut off automatically when the miner is depowered?
    I want to hook this up to a spa heater circuit. When the spa calls for heat, 220 is switched to the spa, then when the spa heater is done, 220 auto switches back to miner which heats the house. Possible?

      Sure! The fan can run on 120 OR 240v! So however youre switching power away from the miner, have the fan hooked up to that same circuit and it will shut off with the miner

      Correct, the big black fan on the front can move more than double the amount of air as all four stock fans combined. So you dont need them. The fans are what make the most noise on a bitcoin miner. We use fan spoofers to make the machine think there are fans on there and then we remove them.
