    IMPORTANT! If you do this, DO NOT use the screws from your stock fans to hold on the shroud. They will be too long and make contact with the heat sink inside the miner. You must go to an ace hardware and match those screws with shorter ones. It’ll only be a few cents per screw…

    As someone who mines at home and struggles with chronic head aches, I LOVE this videos. My miner is in a cooler with at 10'' infinity fan feeding it it air from a filter box, then ducting the heat outside, or into my home in the winter. If you can get 10'' shrouds, I'll for sure buy a set and swap my system to that. If not, a simple 10'' to 8'' reducer will do the trick, probably still be quieter that an 8'' as well.

    • @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE
      @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      10" to 8" would definitely be quieter, you could run it at a much lower RPM

  • @MikoMuru
    @MikoMuru ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I just bought this fan setup and indeed notice a difference. At max fan speed on stock fans I’m getting 76c at 97f ambient. With the infinity fan I’m getting 71 so around a 5c improvement in temps and much lower sound. This is with a L7 but I think you’ll get better reduction in temps with a s19J pro

    • @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE
      @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you using the 8" fan? Can I ask what speed you have the fan set at? And youre pushing air through, right, not pulling? I dont have any L7's so I guess I dont know the difference in the temps, but they pull about the same amount of power and all of the aero should be very similar..

    • @MikoMuru
      @MikoMuru ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE yes it’s setup the same as the video at maximum speed. At lower ambient temperatures I’ve noticed an even higher temperature gains. When temps get around 96f outside you only get 5c of benefits. If it’s 77-85f outside then you might see like 7-10c of gains.

    • @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE
      @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MikoMuru that’s surprising!! I never run my ac infinity fan over like 6/10 speed and the temps stay pretty low, even in 100f ambient temps. I guess that L7 works harder than the s19’s! Is that thing profitable?

    • @MikoMuru
      @MikoMuru ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE oh yeah L7s are one of the most profitable miners out there right now and I’m a huge fan of dogecoin and lite coin so improving the temps and harmonics will hopefully improve the lifespan of the miners.

Now we are a happy family once again and I can keep on mining without stress. the only thing that worries menus what would happen if the fan cut off without someone home. The control board case heats up because the power bus bars go through to the hash boards and are not air tight. The pull-me fans pull negative pressure and keep the control board cool. Solution take off the lid to the control board or create some vents.

  • @ApexOverlord
    @ApexOverlord 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love your videos! Question, how much extra power does that setup use with the fan on full blast? I wonder how the fans power usage affects the efficiency of that system. The overclock increases hash and power consumption obviously but is the fans power consumption so high that it makes it pointless.

    • @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE
      @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, think about it - youre REMOVING the four powerful fans from the asic, they each draw around 33 watts at full power, so just by using this at all, were already reducing the overall power consumption by 132 watts.. And this fan on full power uses about 120 watts.. So its essentially the same power draw for A LOT more cooling!

      The only reason is that when you pull the air, that means you’re running 130 degree (f) air through that fan motor 24 hours a day forever. Heat tends to speed up the process of mechanical things failing eventually. When you push air, it’s only ever room temperature air going through the fan..
      as far as the effectiveness it should be similar either way.

      If you take off all the fans, you have to buy “s19 fan simulators” from Amazon to allow the machine to run without them. Then you can do what I’ve done here with the 8” in-line fan and shroud to get it back online. Make sure to get shorter screws, do not use your original fan screws.

    What's the power draw with that overall setup vs a stock configuration overclocked to the same frequencies? Is it much better?

    • @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE
      @SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This fan is more efficient, so if you’re overclocking to the same degree AND keeping the machine the same temp you would on stock fans it uses about 25% less power (just for fans I mean, so not significant, it uses like 60watts) BUT it allows you to push a lot more air if you want, so if you make it so that you’re using the same wattage, then you’re going to keep your hash boards like 8-10 degrees cooler! And if you want to use more wattage than stock, you can keep your hash boards a LOT cooler not to mention handle a larger overclock due to the cooler temps.
      So overall yes, more efficient, less power draw than stock.. but only like 20 watts.

      If youre just running stock firmware - the AC infinity fan runs with the tiniest bit less electricity than the four stock fans combined when its running at 70% - its like 60 watts. But no real savings, pretty equal.

      Well lower is always better for efficiency, so if you can get the outlet down in the 50’s the chips will run a bit more efficiently, but if you have to waste too much power to get the wind to do that, the 60’sC are completely fine. Even in the 70’s c is not dangerous for the machines, but the 60’s will give them a longer life.
