I remember going to elementary school in Torrance from 1968 till 1972. Torrance will always be home to me even though i live in AZ now. I miss the beach so much and just the atmosphere of the area are still with me to this day. I hope to go back and visit but I would to just move back there.
I used to live in Torrance as a kid. Stayed up on Redondo Beach Blvd across from Alondra Park and about 1 mile west of El Camino-Torrance City College.
@@christophercotton9048 I absolutely do. The Roadium was 2 blocks to the west of me; my first job was there when I was 11. Old Towne? Yep: it was supposed to be the great alternative to Del Amo...didn't quite make it, though...
@@johncavanaugh6232 the only anchor stores they had were Kmart and The Federated Group electronics superstore. But they did have the carousel 🎠 in the big middle area next to the Belgian Waffle 🧇 House.
You missed Old Town Torrance and American Honda Motor Company Corporate Headquarters if you went East of City Hall on Torrance Blvd. Also, there's this Japanese shopping strip mall on the corner of Western Ave and Carson St. Thanks for visiting Torrance which I call it my second home! Great video as always AK!
I haven't been to this part of Torrance, so it cool to see the strip malls. 😎 I was hoping you would stop by King's Hawaiian, Tokyo Central, Nikita Market, Del Amo Fashion Mall, and etc. 😄 Thank you, AK!! This makes me want to visit Torrance soon!!
Great video. However you were not far from the Del Amo Fashion Center, south of where you were which at one time was the largest mall in the country in the 90s. It has gone through some recent renovations but is still a huge shopping complex in the South Bay. 👍😎
DEL AMO IS THE SHIT.. I still wish they hade the arcades I remember KB toys and alot of other places there. I still go there though but missed how it used to be.
Yeah Torrance has a large Japanese and also Korean community. But Japanese have integrated into American culture so much so you don’t see as many Japanese businesses but there are a few shopping areas you missed. Also since Toyota moved to Texas it took a lot of the community. My son is in a Japanese founded basketball league but it’s very diverse now. Torrance relatively quiet town with cool breezes so it’s a good location but a bit dated. Definitely won’t see many IRL streamers there lol
I'm amazed how much of the LA area you covered. Even "Borrance!" Old town and the Honda campus area are probably more interesting than the area explored here, but that's not saying a lot. It's really a very nice but not so interesting town with a pretty outstanding mall.
It's Gardena GAR DEE NA. You don't know how to pronounce the name of the city with the biggest Japanese population? Hawthorne Blvd., not Avenue. Decades ago, Gardena and Torrance were home to the USA headquarters of Honda, Datsun/Nissan, and later Toyota/Lexus. Back then, you could go into any Japanese restaurant in Gardena or Torrance and find native Japanese car executives drinking heavily (and I mean heavily-just like in Japan) and singing really bad karaoke.
Love Torrance also. Great narrating Just too much hands in the way of the camera. It takes away from the video. Hey, I come from the entertainment business perspective. Otherwise it is good 👍.

Best weather in the US of A!
Huge Japanese community in Torrance. And it has the only King Hawaiian sit down restaurant in California.
Wow, I didn't know about the King Hawaiian place!
The biggest market is Mitsuwa which you can find best authentic Japanese food and many more.
Beautiful Southern Calif. I miss it so much. Thank you for sharing.
I met a family from Torrance some years ago and I wasn't sure what it looked like. Thanks for showing us!
Now you know! It's a pretty awesome place

I was not far from you; RBB & Van Ness.
@@johncavanaugh6232 then you might remember the Old Towne Mall (now Torrance Promenade) and the Roadium Drive-in back in the day.

Del Amo Mall is nice as well, it’s off of Sepulveda and Hawthorn.

America is so diverse & is such a beautiful country, I will do a road trip from coast to coast one day

I'm sure there were many other shopping areas. It's a lot of area to cover!
I am glad the town to be under radar. I don't like too much of congested traffic to get out or get back to town.
Great exploration of Torrance California. Big like. Stay safe Action Kid.

yeah, i agree. if you went east of city hall you would find old town torrance where there's lots of mom & pop restaurants and shops.
Awesome Cali videos bro! 👏👏 😎🤟
Behind the mall was a huge nature center.
Also home to the Pentel of America to get stationery products.
Nice 💛💚
Yup, right past the hotel is the mall.
Excellent video 📹 👏.
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !
Hey AK! You missed out on our earthquake we had the other day. You would have loved it as a New Yorker.
Oh my

Yep..those were the days.
Before you do a video you should know the name of the streets and city's around it.
OMG, very short video, with so much more of Torrance to see. Wow, you missed a lot!
HELL YEAH! TORRANCE IS THE SHIT LOVE MY DEL AMO MALL AND DON'T FORGET WILSON PARK TOO.
Gar-Dee-Nah. It’s not a flower
Whats a torrance? Might as well visit Metuchen if you visit torrance!
That pronunciation murdering of "Gardena" made me cringe.
Gar-DEE-nuh. Say it 5 times, and don't ever butcher the name of my hometown again...got it??
Love Torrance also. Great narrating

Go to Boston next please
