Thanks so much for watching the video and subscribing! I can't believe we just passed 70,000, you all are so awesome! Let me know what your favorite spot in Long Beach is.
Would add Retro Row, Kayaking in Naples (Instead of the hydrobike), Aqua Link instead of the harbor cruise (its only 5 bux, most underrated thing to do in LB), Japanese Garden at CSULB, El Dorado Park, Joe Jost's , Rosie's Dog Beach, Brunch at Claires, Watch any game at Legends, Pho in Cambodia Town, LBX, Blind Donkey ( Sebs from LA LA Land) Yoga on the Bluff, Speakeasy at Exhibition Room or Fed Bar... could keep going.
Hi! I'm 22 years-old in Korea. And I'm a college student now. I visited Long Beach, CA when i was 16 years-old. I stayed Long Beach for a month. At that time, i was third grade in middle school student, and i went to study languages. About 7 years later, i still remember that time. It was really brilliant time in my life. So i was looking for a Long Beach downtown's video thinking about that time. I finally watched your TH-cam. Thank you for helping me recall those memories. Have a good day 🤍
I was born and raised in Long Beach but the beach is nothing like it use to be drug addict and homeless have taken over the beach so be careful and watch your feet.
Not sure how old you are but I too was raised in LB. And while it may look like its getting worse its actually way better and much safer than it was in the late 80s and early 90s. The downtown area was trash
I was born and raised in Long Beach (LBC) haven’t lived there now for many years it’s nothing like I remember it makes me sad that so many things I loved are no longer and so many new things thank god for my memories and pictures I miss the good old days of the LBC
No trip to LOng Beach is complete without going to the original Yard House 🍺. One of my Favyspots is the Auld Dubliner Irish pub they got great fried Mac n cheese balls. Great video.
California Through My Lens I can still remember those yard long glasses they would serve beer in than they stopped cuz it was considered over pouring. I always stick to pints. 🍺.
I know right, I used to live around long beach until I move. There is a bunch of homeless people and I mean a bunch. And some of the places have tight corners which makes parking a pain in the butt. Other then then it's a really nice city.
Gentrification would do that. Makes you numb to the homeless crisis plus California had stupid crime laws that virtually makes breaking into a car a misdemeanor and homeless people don't even get charged for these crimes. Crime is extremely under reported in long beach especially at the beach.
I am from Long Beach and one of my favourite things to do is ride a bike from the Belmont pier to shoreline village. I also love going to the attic because of the mac n cheese and the gumbo.
@@Skkyyyyyyyyyyy 100% BEST IN LB! I have eaten those other Pho places, and they are solid in flavor and prices are average across the board, but something about the little devil details is what makes Pho Hong Phat amazing. The chili paste/sauce alone gives a gentle kicked that no other place comes close too. The pastry breads they have are buttery goodness. And most of the other Pho places offer more than just Pho, menus that almost stretch a little thin...but P.H.P keeps it simple and makes it brilliant. Brother. Meat. Noodles. Sooooo amazing.
Nice to see a video about my city lol Definitely forgot to mention 2nd st, location of Open Sesame and lots of other restaurant choices, snacks and ice cream , pubs, bars and shops
Parkers Lighthouse I my Favorite restaurant in Long Beach, that's also in Shoreline Village. Downtown Long Beach is Really bustling with breweries and restaurants. Kings Fish house has stellar seafood. And at Xmas time, the ambiance is Awesome
I used to live in Signal Hill, but moved to Long Beach recently. But honestly, throughout my whole life, Long Beach has been where my heart was. It’s an amazing, beautiful city I recommend visiting if you’re around.
I'm born and raised in Anaheim, lived in long beach for 5 years. I just recently moved to Texas for about 7 months now and I'm trying to find anyway to move back to long beach. It's an amazing city. All these places are making me home sick 😔❤
2nd Street for Food and Shopping. Would disagree with Long Beach being a popular beach. Better to go 30 minutes south down to Huntington Beach. (We people from Long Beach know not to go to the beach in Long Beach). Also, a lot of those murals are in real rough neighborhoods so be careful.
That's true I was born and raised in Long Beach in NorthLong Beach That's a bad atea I was Burger lised My apartment was at work Took my gun and anything they got their hands on they came sweet times. At the time I didn't know it it was a drug area
Thanks for a great video, Long Beach is just old and beautiful and new and modern and artsy and fun fun for the whole entire family we spend lots of time there,, I live in Downey, my husband and I go there very very often. There's so many restaurantsall have amazing food I love ballast point, it's a great brewery , it's location is amazing... thanks for sharing..
I agree with you on the recomendations! I live on Pine Ave. And theres a lot of good restaurants and bars for have a great time with friends or family!
Long Beach native - I will never move away. You forgot Joe Joust; visit Long Beach Creamery. You should visit SuperMex around the block from the chicken place. Open Sesame is a great place... try scooter or later in Belmont Shore.
Long Beach watching!! Great video!! My most favorite place to eat in all of beautiful Long Beach is Handy's Smoked Meats located on Long Beach Blvd. in Bixby Knolls. The best smoked salmon ever!!! A must try!!
Best Peruvian around is Aji on 4th Street. Dank ceviche and saltados. Huge shout out to the Deli News for selling delicious yet cheap pizza when I was in college. So many a pizza eaten.
One of my family's favorite restaurants is Casa Sanchez on Anaheim; it looks pretty run down, but the owners are friendly, the food is both cheap and delicious, and the portions are glorious. You can pick up an eight dollar burrito big enough for dinner and lunch tommorow, and the refried beans are to die for. We also rather like the Belmount Brewery; a bit expensive, kinda upscale, but the drinks are good and the food is great. Asian Chef on Attlantic is a popular Chinese restaurant; their food is quick, cheap, and cooked freshly to order; their house combo is particularly popular and one of my favorites. The Fuji Revolving Sushi bar is exactly what it sounds like; it's very easy to rack up a big bill there, but the large selection of small dishes makes it easy to try out dozens of styles, and find a new favorite. Poke and More is a smaller asian/hawiian restaurant on Carson with a great selection of interesting and unique dishes. Their Poke burrito is spectacular, and well worth the matching price.
If you want to eat delicious and legit Italian food, I would recommend La Parolaccia Osteria on Broadway, just after Temple Avenue on the left hand side. On 2nd street, Paradis has really good ice cream, and across the way, Angelo's Italian deli has good sandwiches and a small shop for Italian products.
I have been to Long Beach several times as I have family there. I haven’t taken a harbour cruise but was on an aqualink taxi . Most of the places that you have mentioned I have been and a few I will have to visit during my next trip.
Long Beach has also become unique - expanding its system of bike lanes & infrastructure thru the city. Making it safer for the cycling community. Great suggestions for places to visit too, I've been to many of them. Queen Mary is a good one, such a great experience being able to wander and explore the old ship.
I have lived in California my whole life and I have never gone to Long Beach I don’t know why it looks like a cool place to go thank you to you both and be checking out the Queen Mary this summer👋👍
My tip to Long Beach I stopped at this mom and pop restaurant. I can't remember the name but their tacos were the best I've had in a long time! Long Beach was a fun place and I plan on going back and staying at the Queen Mary soon
I love Open Sesame, but my favorite restaurant is just down the street. Rance's Chicago Pizza. It has the authentic deep dish pizza from Chicago. There's other stuff too but why go there and not get the amazing Chicago pizza?!
I'ven been in most of the spots that you mention! I love Long Beach and for sure we will be visiting Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles and trying to find all the murals around! Thanks for the video!
I loved this video! Fun Fact: My grandfather worked on the Queen Mary. I just can't imagine that chicken and waffles can taste good but so many people I trust are telling me that Roscoe's is great so I'll be trying it next time I'm in SoCal. Fantastic food and beverage tips as always. Thanks Josh :)
@@MAVERICK72226 I'm not concerned whether it is authentic black southern food. However, if you've tried it and in your opinion, it does not taste very nice then I appreciate your warning :)
Hey Josh, I think 4th st between junipero and cherry has some cool vintage stores and restaurants. Also notable mention is steel craft in bixby knolls made of shipping containers. Also the food court at the hanger at Long Beach exchange near Carson and Lakewood Blvd.
This list is essentially the stuff I did when I first moved to LB and I try to knock some of these things out when we have guests visiting from out of state. Most of this stuff can be pretty cheap too if you do it right. Well done!
Definitely yoga on the bluff. Donations only and you easily get 100 people out there. Great workout and relaxing vibe. Try it on the weekends at 11:30 with the great yogi, Dharma. Duffy boat rides in Naples especially around the holidays when all of the homes are decorated.
You left off Belmont Brewing Company (BBC) with oceanside and beach view. This 40 year old establishment has the world's greatest stout beer by far!!!! It has been the same consistency for over 40 years. One of the first craft breweries in So CA, it's signature beer is called Long Beach Crude, appropriately. Sea captains from the ships used to hail here when I went here in the early years, but now it is a popular local attraction and one of the only great restaurants right on the beach. Parking is free after 6 in the adjacent City lot and it is walking distance to 2nd Street that you left off too, which is an awesome stretch of restaurants and bars reminds me of the Promenade in Santa Monica. But this stretch of bars and grills is more localized and compact (about 1/2 mile on both sides).
It may not be perfect, it has its negatives and positives but what other city doesn’t? I love Long Beach and don’t see myself living anywhere else, thanks for showcasing our lovely city by the beach 🏖🇺🇸❤️ ps. You should of also added Historic Pine Street for restaurants and nightclubs! Always a fun time after dark
I’ve lived in Long Beach for almost two years and have never even heard of a lot of the things in this list! Will definitely need to check out some of these recommendations.
Nice video! Made me homesick. Born at NAS Lemoore, but raised in Long Beach. Navy brat here. I have stayed put since covid and other health issue. I miss my hometown so much. Even though I live in San Diego.. which is nice...but Long Beach has the small city by the beach vibe, quaint, and also very diverse. My spots to eat are Roscoes and Super Mex on 2nd St. When I feel better....I'm going home to my beloved town ❤️
Great video as always, visited Long Beach last year and did the whale watching tour and a visit to the Queen Mary. Can't wait to be back in Cali from the UK in 38 days. Will be doing quite a few things during our roadtrip thanks to your vlogs.

I sure hope your making buck's on these video's and I love to see what fun options we have in CA!! Keep the video's coming!!
I love bluff park, and my favourite hang out place is Viento Y Agua on 4th street. They do THE BEST Mexican Mocha, as well as bagels, oatmeal, smoothies, and my personal favourite in the summer, a matcha green tea smoothie. They also have poetry nights, as well as open mic evenings. Check it out next time you’re in town.

This is my city
Born in Long Beach but raised in Oxnard
I went to the aquarium yesterday, it was awesome! 👌( At Long Beach
NAPLES, BELMONT SHORE AND HEIGHTS, ALAMITOS BEACH, BLUFF PARK, CALIF HEIGHTS, BIXBY KNOLLS, RANCHO ESTATES ARE MY FAVORITE NEIGHBORHOODS IN LONG BEACH, California.
Thank you
Awesome! Just to share, shoreline park is my fave weekend spot! 😁
It's a great spot to just hang out for sure!
That was awesome!!!!!! I love Manaw for Thai street food.
I bet you're not old enough to remember the Spruce Goose when it was in Long Beach near the Queen Mary... I got to see it back in the 80's
I miss the Beach Plaza Hotel on Ocean Blvd. That place was the best especially during the 4th of July😔
