  • Downtown Culver City offers a unique blend of Hollywood history, trendy shops and restaurants, and a vibrant arts scene. It's also one of my favorite walkable areas in Los Angeles. Founded in the 1920s, Downtown Culver City has been a hub for Hollywood filmmaking with Studios like Sony Pictures Entertainment and the Culver Studios are are located here, adding to the area's cinematic charm. You might even catch a glimpse of celebrities popping out of the set for a quick lunch or street side dinner.

Downtown Culver City looks like a nice walkable area with many places to have lunch.

The "Gone With The Wind" house was actually the administration building of Selznick International Pictures, the studio that produced the film. The only time you see it is at the start of the movie.
The location of Sony Pictures was primarily the home of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios where films like "The Wizard of Oz" were made.

You got Ince right the first time! It's Ih-nce (short i) -- named for Thomas Ince, who founded what is now Culver Studios as Ince Studio in 1918. Love my hometown but this spot area of Culver has really grown and gotten awesome. So many great new places to explore! Thanks for sharing.

Used to work at Culver many years ago. Recognized the area. Great place and planning to visit there again later this year when not so hot outside.

Culver City is one of the only cities in L.A. County that bans homeless encampments.

I will always regret never hanging out at Culver studios as I lived on the other side of Venice Blvd in that area. I’ll have to visit especially seeing how it’s changed. Thank you!

What a cool area! I didn't realize a lot of movie studios are in the Culver City area.

I think it's a pretty neat area to explore in LA that really doesn't get that many tourists

doesn't seem to be much variety of shops - bookstores, record stores, clothing shops etc. thanks for the walk!

Kewell! Crazy idea... tour the "rental place" next to Burbank Airport where Movie-makers rent tanks, buses, airplanes, etc. as film props.

Enjoy watching your travel videos. Been watching for awhile but you never have an amtrak travel video. Seems you fly to everywhere you go. Do you ever travel by train ?

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

I have taken Amtrak many times in the past. But I get tired of it because the trains are always delayed

Actually Harry Culver was a gambler, and won lots of his property that way, which is why it's shaped funny when you look at it on a map...

Hey visitors to Culver City! Worked in C.C. aka Screenland for 3 decades. Remember to try these yummy local restaurants. 1. Dinahs Kitchen on Sepulveda/So. of Washington Bl. 2. Titos Tacos on Washington Place/Sepulveda Blvd. and 3. Johnny's Pastrami on Sepulveda Bl./ Washington Place. All yummy😋

I've always wanted to explore that area. Was the parking at the structure free?

    • @YellowProductions

The parking structure was paid. But it wasn't too expensive

The fried chicken at Go Go Bird is pretty good. Eat the spicy version at your own risk. They use Sichuan peppercorns 🔥🔥🔥. I also like the burgers and fries at WeHo Sausage Co, its pricey but good.

It is really cute and nice and upscale, but some of the themes are bad vibes, where does it come from and what are they accomplishing? While I sit here watching old classic TV shows filmed in Culver City, after everything, what does anybody else do?

The city ruin driving DTCC with their stupid bus lanes. Traffic is horrible and the lanes stand unused for most of the time when you only have 1 bus run every 30 minutes. They need to remove these lanes. Stupid city planning just stupid.
