Two years ago we made a plan we Sold Everything & Now Living In The Philippines On A Budget in 2022, we had paid our debts, sold everything and made a budget. You should visit Casa Mariquit. It is a heritage house in Jaro that was built during the Spanish colonial era. If you’ll get a tour guide, he will show you a spot in that house where if you took a photo, you will see a ghost like figure and orbs.
Sounds fun we went to the Molo mansion but no ghosts found there by us.

Please try the La Paz Batchoy at POPOY'S at the Iloilo Central Market, or at the Robinson's Place-Iloilo Downtown mall at the De Leon Street side facing the Mang Inasal restaurant ( this the first and original Mang Inasal store in the Philippines). POPOY'S won the championship as the best-tasting La Paz Batchoy during the SM City Iloilo La Paz Batchoy competition in 2020 during the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival in January.

We had a La Paz Batchoy restaurant in SM Sta Rosa and unfortunately they went out of business way before the pandemic. We loved to eat there. Now my wife makes her own version and it is excellent.

We were there for the first time this past winter, and it was pretty good. It's sort of like a Filipino version of Ramen (which is something I found out I really like).
I suggest you should go to bucari Leon Iloilo the summer capital of Iloilo city, I'm sure you gonna like it ❤️❤️

That is true the best la paz batchoy food there because i eat there this month also the original batchoy food in iloilo i been 9 days there vacation just enjoy every place there and food also.

As much as you guys love Boracay and the beach life, you should really visit Panglao in Bohol. Super nice beaches and a Good size city. Close to Cebu City.

Each owners of batchoy retaurants had secret recipes for the soup of batchoy they inherited that recipe from there great grandparents 😀

Lapaz batchoy is the best. That puto is delicious but the batchoy I go to serves puto lanson much more better. I would live Bacolod city around 6 am, the Ferry will dock in Iloilo city around 7 am and straight away drive to Lapaz market for my breakfast. Do my errands, eat lunch in Tatoys and be on the dock by 2 pm. I'm on my way back to Bacolod City and be at home at 7 pm for dinner. I'll be doing it again the following week. Been doing that for 20+ years. Now, I have to make my own batchoy here in the US.
Popoy's Batchoy is the BEST batchoy there is. I've tried most of the famous batchoyan in Iloilo and Guimaras, including the not so popular ones and Popoy's Batchoy in downtown Central Market came up on top.

Did you buy some of the take-home treats (pasalubong sweets) of Ilo-ilo? My favorite is the Butterscotch. These are treats which you can bring back with you to Boracay.
No room in the backpacks for anything to go home. The bike is very small 100cc so room is so limited. We will be back

thanks for visiting my town Lapaz, i live a few blocks from Netong's and i grew up eating batchoy lol. i would highly suggest you guys should eat at Tatoy's Restaurant in Iloilo city also. ☺️

You can try also Deco's batchoy outside the Lapaz Market and have Coffee at Madge cafe'...The best batchoy is the one that "popping hot"..

I miss Lapaz Batchoy! I could eat that everyday! You need to take a statin pill after eating but boy, you won’t even care! Other district and towns copy them but you can’t beat the original batchoy in Lapaz! Enjoy the charm of the Ilonggos! We are the most soft spoken and loving Filipinos! Even in anger, we use speak softly but deadly so beware … lol!
You should have add condiments to your batchoy, to make it flavorful. Thats how we locals eat it. It's right there in the table. 😅 Anyway, glad that you enjoyed our batchoy. 🥰 Stay safe on the road back home.

We have used it a couple times but it's didn't always seem to fit, now that we could use the drone in Iloilo it fit perfectly
I still prefer Ted's, one of the Pioneers too.. They have the most outlets in Iloilo and the whole Philippines. The establishment professionalized this dish and most responsible on the standards of how a Lapaz Batchoy should be. FYI, Lapaz Batchoy's origin depends on who you will ask. All of the pioneers say that they are the first.

Only legends know where the best batchoys are. Santa Barbara.
They pair batchoy with the puto(rice cake) the one wrapped in banana leaves. You should have tried. 😊 nice content.

Oh, we haven't yet found a place that we would say stands out. Lobster seems extremely expensive on Boracay compared to Canada or Usa (will keep looking)
