what i think is funny is that these women seem to think that feminists have to have full time jobs and hate all men. I'm a stay at home mom, i cook dinner every night, keep the house clean, and respect my husband. And i am 100% a feminist, loud and proud. The best part? My husband actually respects me back! crazy right?
Yeah... Especially that one girl who said men want international women cuz they're more "traditional".... I've met plenty of foreign women who r haughty and bunch of rude women it doesn't matter where they're from! 😂
Right!! The whole point of feminism is the freedom to choose the lifestyle you want. Whether that’s being a stay at home mom, a workaholic, or somewhere in between is all completely fine as long as you feel happy and fulfilled. It’s about equal opportunity for everyone!!
I'm a single, cottage-core woman with a bunch of traditional interests; baking, cooking, gardening, homesteading, painting, I even do embroidery. And I attract a lot of men who want a trad-wife. And they are soooo nice at first. But then they realize I, today, also mow the lawn, do car maintenance, house repairs and even renovations, so they can't trick me into thinking that is equal to all of the housework. And then I tell them I will not be the main caretaker of any children and they will have to do their part. And then they want to bargain and I dump them because if we put the cards down and all your bringing is a good job, a 50s fetish, the easiest parts of house-owning and an ok personality I will not waste my time nor my homegrown strawberry desserts on you. Edit: Thank you all for the kind response! While this comment was going off I succeeded in a massive life goal: I bought my own house! It's small, with need of renovations, standing in the middle of a vast field in the countryside. It's perfect. And seeing all this encouragement while dealing with paperwork, moving and starting renovating and has been lovely. My two gsd-mutts and I love our new home, and I replanted all my strawberry plants in my new wild garden. So, thank you!
As a girl interested in " traditional" hobbies I get conflicted that where I stand as a feminist because I don't want to do labour without being respected
@@aprameena7359 With feminism you get to choose your hobbies, doesn't matter what they are. But you should demand respect for them. Anyone who doesn't respect your hobbies, labour or you isn't worth your time. Wanting to do something because you enjoy it, like cooking, is very different from having to do it because your husband refuses do a "woman's task".
@@amylizard exactly that's what I realised that I enjoy trying new recipes when I want but when men in family ask to cook dinner I despise doing it so I trying to learn how to separate my hobbies from traditional duties
As someone wise said, being bi makes you realise men don't really like women because if I had a girlfriend like you I'd be doing anything to add to your life and keep you happy (so you have more time to make me that strawberry dessert). Good luck finding someone, they exist! But being an engineer I have easy filter, it intimidates the wrong people and being shy and blonde will not fool them into thinking I'm submissive
as a brazilian im laughing SO hard at her saying men are coming here to find more “traditional” wives. Brazilian men are so submissive to their wives is actually funny, i love it
My father was the stay-at-home parent because my mother's job paid better. He was the "room dad" whenever the school needed parents to chaperone special events. And when it came to household chores, he did the laundry and even ironed his handkerchiefs (he was "traditional" in that sense). But NO ONE would dare call my 6 foot, barrel-chested, baritone-voiced father "emasculated". Honestly, he didn't give a fuck about what others would say, his masculinity was never fragile. He was a good, feminist-thinking man and I give him a lot of credit for helping me shape my own feminist views, alongside all of the amazing women in my life
Your dad's a legend for not letting societal expectations get in the way of his being a great parent. Good partners and parents look at what needs to be done in the family, what makes financial sense and what makes sense for the individual aspirations of each spouse - not at what each person is "supposed" to do simply because of their gender.
These people are always rambling about how feminism makes women work 9/5s when they aren’t built for it…girl that’s capitalism. No-one is meant to grind a 9/5; stop blaming your problems on feminists and wake up.
I'M SAYING!!!!! But most of these women are conservative, or at least really lean that way, so they would just defend capitalism and keep the blame on other women. 🙄
There are many places where you don’t have to work 9/5 to survive, but that would require shoveling dung. I think these people like the comfort of a life capitalism can give them, but don’t like the price they have to pay in return. It’s a Faustian bargain all right.
this is exactly what i was thinking-- like, i'm happy to also let my male coworker have a day off to rest when his body is in intense pain, he's miserable, and the doctor he may or may not have the capacity to go to won't take him seriously because he's experiencing that same level of pain every month consistently.
Literally this. I have also seen non traditional values also put women down and it's wrong but delulu ppl say that not true. I'm more a traditional girl but I'm not gonna be rude but will have opinions on non traditional things u can do both. Half the time idc tho and don't want trad or not trad in my face 24/7 it's annoying.
@@Angelacarolinax.I agree that both types of people are annoying and need to mind their own business, but for the anti trad women, I at least understand that they are just overreacting to the pressure placed on women to be trad wives. And irregardless of the internet trad wife debates, being a stay at home mom is the norm in most cultures.
im from thailand personally and thai women are NOT submissive we literally almost have a "my wife is scary and i love her and i wouldnt disobey her" sense of humor
My mom was a trad wife, my dad was abusive and creepy towards her and me. He used to give her $1 just to go to the nearest city by bus and go back (we were living on countryside), when she asked for money for shopping. She had to steal from him, to buy clothes for us, he would make us get clothes from rubbish. Not to mention SA on our mom, and on me. I'm glad I survived.
Feminism isn't supposed to be fun. Its activism. Activism isn't some fun activity to do on your day off, its a struggle. Its a fight. Of course feminists seem miserable, fighting for women's rights is difficult and even grueling in some countries. The fact that she doesn't understand that shows how unaware she is of her privilege.
This is my exact point with literally all politics, im constantly miserable and stressed but thats because im watching all the terrible stuff happening to women and people all around the world, these people dont know literally anything about the weird world and they twist everything people with different opinions say so that they are somehow victimized, its so tiring
Well it is a problem when it turns into misandry. It doesn't have to, and most cases it doesn't. But some truly do just go the misandry route lol. Wow a lot of misandrists here. That's sad. Well I guess it's what I expected, it is pretty normalized. Why is it so hard to just respect each other tho? A minority of men treat women badly, and a minority of women treat men badly. There's no need to generalize and despise an entire gender for it. Misandry is impactful. Misogyny as well. A lot of women don't think misandry is impactful, but that's funny because they think that AS a woman, whom aren't affected by it.
I'm an 18 year old Latina and throughout my whole life, my mom has told me that I should never depend on a man because I'll never know what that man is thinking
My Polish mom says the same. My theory is western women are just dumb and have never been taught how to properly deal with men, so they’re treated like garbage.
Old lady here….our grandmothers and mothers tried to explain to us that women need to be able to take care of themselves financially so as not to be trapped in an abusive relationship or destitute if your husband leaves you or dies. Simple.
yes, in a perfect world if i grow up and get married i would be able to trust my husband 100%. but, i've seen so many women including my mother let down their guard financially once married, their husband doesn't allow them to work, and then they're trapped in an awful relationship they can't afford to leave right away.
my dad has both great and not so great qualities, I learned a lot from those that were great qualities and had to unlearn those that weren't. my mother often told me to date around when I was young, not to get to caught up the idea of marriage and kids with my first love. it was very telling when you really think about the underlying reasons as to why she felt that way and I'm a male. she was telling me things she wish she knew at a young age. I learned a lot from her as well.
I'm a SAHW (about to be mom!) and I am 100% still a feminist. My husband appreciates and understands the value I add to our family and his own life. I even have my own retirement plan that my "husbands" paycheck helps support. Its sad that these women think that if they WANT to be a SAHW/M they must give up their own rights in order to "earn" their way of life- like their husband is doing THEM a favor. Girl, you are also doing HIM a favor
I know. Starting around about the 1980s women were/are made to feel like they are leeches or gold diggers if they want to do things that way. It's insane. It's terrible that most people just can't afford to have a one income family. I believe that was done on purpose and I don't think feminism was a totally organic movement.
As a Latina, I don't know what in the Stepford Wives bullsh*t she is talking about. Not one woman on my Mom's side of the family was/is/never would be like that. In fact, quite a few of my Latina relatives, here in Los Angeles and El Paso, Texas, were/still are part of the LULAC organization which is the League of United Latin American Citizens and specialize in the women group and advances women can make in the world. What an insult to all the women who fought, and many killed, for women to have freedom, voting rights and a voice. 🙄
Fr, I’m from a salvy family and we literally call mom “La Jefa” (The female boss). Every latino marriage i know, including my parents, has the wife being dominant and running the house 😂 The dad just has the last word. But if she doesn’t agree, then it’s not happening. My latina mother has a rough past from abusive men and has protected me by teaching me the importance of financial independence as a woman; and told me “The worst thing a woman can do is be 100% dependent on a man”
@@britterthecritter4531agreed! Latina here and every woman in my family who was a “tradwife” has constantly reinforced the idea that the best thing I can do is get my education and have a career. They know what it’s like to have no other options.
The same 👱🏻♀️ women are the same to throw on hands maid tail cosplays at the slightest inconvenience. They're fine with misogyny and the patriarchy because they're comfortable in it.
My uncle met a woman from Thailand, they had kids, she hated his controlling behavior and generally thought it was weird her 5 siblings also said 🤨, so she sprung a quick divorce as soon as their youngest turned 18, took the house and also once she found another guy who treats her much more equal and cooks for her and helps her with everything. He really mellowed out after because he got humbled hard and realized he has to work on himself and his own attitude towards women. Especially since they have a strong feminist daughter. Anyways, he then went for an ultra feminist woman on the opposite side of the spectrum who was a bit too unstable but he actually liked how fun life got when he wasn’t pulling all the financial weight and helped her out with all the chores. He learned how to make food too. 10/10 a total turn around and thankful for that.
yeah the whole passport bro thing is very stupid and has no foresight. as a Latino, I've seen so many immigrant women become Americanized. if you don't treat that woman right, it will not matter if she was raised in an another culture; she will inevitably cheat or leave you anyways. shit that can happen even if you aren't a complete asshole. if you aren't fulfilling them in every way, it will not change that most women will find a way out inevitably, native born or foreign. also, they don't just stay with a foreign mindset. they meet other woman and "get corrupted" aka learn how life can be better.
I did the trad wife thing. It was awful. He was also verbally and mentally abusive. I finally left for good and had zero marketable skills. None. I got laughed out of interviews because i didn't type fast enough to even be a an admin assistant. I had a college degree but guess what, a general studies diploma does absolutely nothing. I moved to a different state because I knew my ex would drag me back in if i was within 500 miles. My first job post divorce paid $11/hr and literally the only thing i could get because i had a massive gap in my work history, no employers did not care that the reason was raising kids and taking care of a household. It has taken me 9 years and 5 job changes but I finally have a job I love and pays me enough to support myself and my kids. I'm extremely proud of my progress and my ability to show my children that I did this on my own, for all of us. It's been an absolute battle to get here and it isn't over but I would much rather fight this battle and pay my own bills than ever go back to the 'trad' life I had.
Idk why people keep equating trad wife to abusive marriage. Girl your husband was abusive, has nothing to do with trad or not. He would’ve still been abusive even if you lived a non trad life style.
My girlfriend is a feminist and she doesn't treat me wrong. She just wants to have a free will... But yeah, that's aaaaalmost the same as hate, isn't it?😂😂😂
@bambismiler absolutely! If all these great women from the past and present wouldn't have fought for their rights (or what we would call it: be feminists) then she wouldn't even have a choice when it comes to if or if not she likes feminism...
@@SQUID0NKEY Men would beat up their wives for even having opinions, and it was considered acceptable. The men could just get away with abusing their wives. @@bambismilersometimes I wish we could temporalily revoke feminism from these anti feminists so they see how well they can fare without the thing they claim to hate so much.
i have a feeling these women are confusing capitalism with feminism because most of their complaints seem to be about working or corporate ladders etc. lol
You are absolutely right; They do. These women would never last a day as a traditional housewife in a middle class or below home. Like the one who said that she can’t work during her period; does she think that traditional housewives took breaks during their periods?
@@TvNetJunkieyeah totally. In the 50s, my grandma was married to an alcoholic who drank away all the money and beat his wife and kids. Grandma had to go door to door asking to do people's laundry for pennies just to be able to feed her kids. Back then she couldn't just take the kids and leave; everything they owned was in her husband's name. She had no savings and she didn't know how to drive. She was literally trapped. THATS the kind of tradional lifestyle these pickmes want to return to?!!!
@@Diahrrea_Jones Yes! Also back then, women weren’t even allowed to open a back account unless she had a man attached to it. The laws didn’t change until the late 1960’s, but didn’t go into affect until 1974! Women today would never be able to live like that! Never!
My mum was a homemaker/SAHM and she pretty much handled everything to do with the finances as well as the household’s upkeep. As my dad used to put it, “I make it, she manages it.” He still did household chores etc, especially stuff like washing up and ironing, and went to work full-time. My mum was NOT one of these ‘tradwives’ who was ‘submissive’ but a fiery and strong-willed woman. I swear, these women are insulting - the fact that they have to let everyone know that they’re a ‘tradwife’ lets you know that they’re a poser pick me.
I am a feminist woman, been in a relationship for 12 years with a ✨️feminist man✨️ It's not that hard to respect your partner as an equal, we enjoy and respect each other. Gender roles are a non-issue in a healthy relationship 🫡
@@steisishain7888is that all your argument? How does wanting to be treated with respect and having your capabilities acknowledged equate having no fear or weackness at all. Are aware men also have fears and weaknesses? Tho most prefer to bluff it out just to prove a point that fear and weakness is just a 'femelle thing'😂 I havr seen men shedding a tear because of a needle's pin. That doesn't make them less of a man or cause me to lose respect for them.
I’m the biggest feminist, if a woman wants to be a trad wife, girl go for it!! The issue with that comes when some trad wives hate on other women for not being “traditional” and want to work, and have big goals for themselves. If your goal is to have a big family, be a stay at home mom, etc, go for it! Those are your goals and you should achieve that, but you can’t hate on women who want to be independently successful, who want to build a career, maybe who make more than their male spouses. That goes vice versa as well, you can’t be a “feminist” and then get mad at women who want to be trad wives. The whole point of feminism is for women to be able to do what THEY want.
Agree. When I was getting married, I told my female boss at the time (quit that job and opened my own business) I wanted to stay home with our future kids to raise them. She got pissed and went off on me, "You're a wimp. You're weak. You're a pussy," etc etc. She put her newborn baby in daycare as soon as possible. He called his babysitter Mom and called my boss by the babysitter's name. She worked out in the morning and if one of her kids walked in the garage while she was working out, she would scream at them to leave her alone because it was "her" time. She spent two hours a day with her kids on weekdays. And I was a weak pussy for not wanting to work full time when I had kids.
dudeeee it makes me sad how these people think feminism is bad??? feminism supports people putting on makeup for their husband if they want or not having to wear makeup if they want damn
I once read that feminism not only set women free, it set men free as well. If staying at home, taking care of the kids, keeping house for you spouse is what you want to do with your life; I support your choice. As long as that choice is open to all parties. If you want to conquer the corporate world or be the best stay at home parent, your gender shouldn't matter.
I think one of the main things that weirds me out about the whole “Trad Wife” trend is that it’s essentially glorifying abuse. Most traditional marriages I’ve seen and heard about are inherently abusive and toxic. No one person should have more control in a relationship than the other. I think we talk about that with other power imbalances but don’t really acknowledge that dynamic in these types of relationships.
Clearly you no nothing of Traditional Wifes , you know of abusive relationships and think they are traditional Wives. thats the Perverted contemporary feminist idea, feminism has done nothing for Women other than make them resentful and insufferable. and is why so many Women are Fucked up today.
The bottom line is that women should have the right to choose what to do. And if being a tradwife is something a woman wants to do, she should be able. But if a woman wants to "boss babe" and be a career woman, or live a transient lifestyle, or anything else, she should be able to do that to. What's wrong is people who judge others solely on how they choose to live.
i literally had this convo with another girl who said she hated feminism bc she wanted to be an housewife later in life. like girl, the option to have that choice at all is feminist. we want you to be ABLE to make that choice.
Allowed to work. That girl definitely does not have a husband because being a housewife is 24 hours of work. 24, because even when you're sleeping. You are mentally planning for the next day. Many new moms prefer to go back to work after six months to start to feel like themselves again.
My grandma couldn't even get a credit card in her own name, she literally had to get my grandpa to get it for her and it said "Mrs. (Grandpa's name)" this wasn't that long ago. There is nothing wrong with taking on Traditional values if that's your thing, but be grateful you have a CHOICE to do so.
As a woman from Ukraine (where the war is) it is so painful to watch. There is a particular type of Americans that come here “to help” but what they really do is prey on vulnerable women who lost their homes and who are the “submissive” type because they are Slavic
First of all, I am truly sorry to hear that. But also, the concept of "Slavic" + "submissive" is too funny to me, because gosh Slavic women are so freaking strong and independent 😂 Sometimes more than in more Western European countries. (Source: Half Polish) So I really don't know where that notion that those men have comes from. Wishing you strength and health! ♡
We saw this a lot on Reddit. Guys would go onto the news subs and ask how they could "help" the women fleeing Ukraine. And some of them would post about how "annoying" it was that the local Catholic charities in their area weren't just letting the incoming Ukrainians stay with them
Cute story, but it isn't the type of "American" as reported by the UN- "The UN refugee agency has called on the UK government to intervene to stop single British men from being matched up with lone Ukrainian women seeking refuge from war because of fears of sexual exploitation. Following claims that predatory men are using the Homes for Ukraine scheme to target the vulnerable, the United Nations high commissioner for refugees (UNHCR) told the Guardian “a more appropriate matching process” could be put in place to ensure women and women with children are matched with families or couples." (The Guardian- 2 years ago). So, nobody goes over there, they USED to go onto a Facebook group in order to be predatory toward women in Ukraine. The matching would sometimes pair the single men, many British and other Europeans, with Ukrainian women. The fact that you didn't know that this is predominantly happening in Europe, by European men and traffickers, then blaming it on Americans is pretty toxic and an outright lie.
My husband is a stay at home dad and he changed his last name to mine. The modern woman is not the problem, it is the perpetuity of unhealthy relationship dynamics and the putting down of people who don't conform to antiquated standards.
Funnily enough she was even onto something with the "taking our hormones into account" thing- because we really are at higher risk of getting depressed and burnt out thanks to society and the work system being based on the energy flow and output of the male 24h hormone cycle, without taking the female 30d hormone cycle into account at all. Feminism aims to change that too eventually, but wbk she's too shortsighted to figure that out ig
Now hold up, it could be a myriad of health issues: autoimmune disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, neurological conditions, iron deficiency, vitamin d vitamin b deficiencies; and yes possibly psychiatric disorders. She should go to a fucking dr, urgently 💀
She was driving me nuts with the protein shake speech after. I was like, "I know she gives laziest bjs." Also, I lived in Mexico for 6 years, Im more "Latina" than her, and I'm Japanese.
Also, all sleep studies have been done on men, and only apply it to women as "smaller men". It's only recently that sleep studies have been done on women, and it's been shown that women need MORE SLEEP than men. So women are probably more likely to get burnt out because they're not getting enough sleep which throws EVERYTHING off.
Ex "trad" wife here. Id NEVER go back to not making my own money. The amount of abuse and control i endured, idc how much i think he wouldnt do the same, ive worked WAY to hard to go back to that.
My parents had a traditional marriage, my father worked full-time, and my mother took care of the kids. My father was a marriage and family counselor for 30 years. He worked for the court system. He strongly encouraged all of his daughters to get their college education because, he saw what happened to traditional women when their husband left them and they slipped under the poverty level and both them and their children really begin to suffer. Because back in the day, the courts didn’t enforce alimony and or child support. He saw it so often he definitely didn’t want it to happen to his daughters if anything should happen to their marriages. My sisters and I all got our masters a good 40 years ago. My dab was right. It was a very good decision.
As a Latina, my entire family has so many girlbosses if that makes any sense, when my grandma got fed up with my grandpa she left him and became a mariachi singer to diss him, Latina woman are strong so if people ever say they’re submissive, they're wrong, also race doesn’t mean anything, stereotypes exist but people are people, everyone has their personality, you can be submissive, you can be dominant or anything, as long as you give yourself respect and respect your partner, you deserve to love and love deserves to be spread, but never let people walk over you and be kind♡ idk what this was supposed to achieve but have a nice day and stay hydrated:)
I genuinly can't understand these pick-me's, why are you so against having a choice? Cause that's what it's about. Wanna be a stay at home wife? You can choose that! Wanna work? You can choose that! It's not that difficult
You’re absolutely right about passport bros. My husband’s family matriarch is Asian. Her husband was American and was terrible to her. As a result, when my husband hears men talk about their attraction to Asian women, he always wonders whether they admire their beauty, or they want a woman from a culture that they see as submissive because they don’t like accountability or mutual respect.
Too much dependence takes away your rights in a relationship as the power shifts to one person… too much independence also takes away from the relationship as some ppl might think I’m better off alone than with someone I’ve to put up with.. so generally someone who is middle of the spectrum is more suitable for committing themselves to a relationship while having n independent identity
It would seem to me that the women that end up marrying an American because it's what they want have ambitious and go get her personalities. A submissive woman in an environment where they're expected to get married and care for a husband and children would have already been married and doing so. I know two men personally that married Thai mail order brides. (They didn't want anyone questioning there are extra curricular activities in this case) and were both successful New York businessman. Well, both of those women were some of the least passive women I've ever met! But boy were they taken care of! ... because they demanded so! Lol
Passport bros are high key fetishizing Asian women. No way in hell are they respecting their cultures let alone the women and their families. If a man truly wanted a traditional wife he'd want to be a traditional man and marry a Mormon, pentacostal, or Catholic woman. No need to travel the world. Funny thing is these women in the East don't even want western men 😂 The comments i see from them telling men "stay over there!" Has me ROLLING!! 😂😂💀
@@sparingharbor2600 “I’m better off alone than with someone I put up with” is the exactly perfect amount of independence, actually. There’s a massive difference between being independent enough to leave a partner you are “putting up with” and being emotionally unavailable to any and all relationships. I don’t need my man - I want him, because he makes it easy to choose to stay. Were he ever to wake up one day and decide to be an asshole, I would be gone. It just feels like the way you phrased this is yet another voice telling women they should be less discerning. No - either it’s the love you want, or you’re better off alone.
My brothers father went to the Philippines and brought back a wife… I lost so much respect for him after the way I heard him talk about her life in the Philippines. After the first meeting I made extra effort to put him down while being a friend to her and she was the strongest most amazing woman I couldn’t believe how he viewed her… disgusting.
I was raised in the south and Christian. I fell for the trad wife life. I married a man who also was about that life. It was horrible. Zero help with the house even though I worked 80hr a week, he took all my money because he was “investing for our future” and in the end I had to leave. I’m just starting to wake up from all the BS. Now I refuse to cook during dating because I don’t want a man to see me as a servant or “love” me for what I do for him
Im so sorry you had to go through that! I am a Christian as well, but my husband and I understand that neither of us are the center of the relationship, only God is. And we are BOTH called to serve one another as we have been served by Christ. Your ex husband was obviously not a Christian and I sincerely hope you don’t turn away from your faith from this experience!
Yeah, it’s a total lie. Men that want a servant don’t really love you and will drop you instantly for a younger woman or if you get sick. There’s actually data that show men are likely to divorce women who need to get their breasts removed because of cancer. It’s disgusting.
I was raised the opposite, by a mom who can’t cook and gets other people to do her chores (her boyfriends in her youth, maids as a successful career woman). She always drilled into me the importance of independence. Somehow I still ended up falling for trad wife life. I did all the cooking, cleaning, and let my partner be “the man of the house” but because I’m financially independent I also paid all the bills 🤦♀️ that’s not the full story, but went there for a bit. Yikes 🪤
Hate to break it to you, you weren't a trad-wife. You were a suckker with a deadbeat abuser. Wives don't work 8 hrs never mind 80, and they don't give money to their husbands but they get money from their husbands
Something I never understand about this kind of women is that they say they don’t like feminists even tho feminists literally gave them the right to express their opinion
They are under the impression that feminists hate them, not understanding that feminists don't care what they do--as long as women have the freedom to blaze their own trail in life.
The worst part about this is the only kind of men who would be interested in this are those who would absolutely abuse their power in the relationship. This woman has to seriously be careful because she is attracting potential abusive men and she could put herself in danger of an abusive relationship.
Agreed! I went to Thailand actually for a trip to see my long-distance fiancé last year, and the number of old men I saw with young Thai women was INSANE. IT was terrifying actually. The way they are expected to act all loving and sweet and the man yells at them and abuses them is terrible. These types of men just want a woman who won't stand up to his abuse. My fiancé noticed it too and was really weirded out. He even told me that is the only reason why men come to Thailand.
at this point the only explanation is that they actually want and like this. these women have access to the internet, to information, to feminism, and they insist that their opinions are right and functional. so I don't think they care.
"The oldest lifestyle in the world" would probably actually be the hunting-gathering lifestyle. Fun fact about hunter-gatherer societies: we've been finding out that in most of them, women actually went out and hunted about as much as men did. Women and men haven't always been stuck in such strict gender roles as she promotes.
Absolutely. I have a friend who hunts, gathers, uses all parts of the animal. She uses the hide, cleans the bones, etc. Truly one of the most bad-ass women I've met & oops...she's a feminist
This is probably not an extremely viable source but I own a book where it is stated how for example in ancient hunter-gatherer societies in the Philippines even pregnant woman participated in hunts with bows and arrows and if that isn't badass I don't know what is
@@liaspring7 right!!! and again, both the male and female do their part in the relationship. Being a single female, I get both sides of the spectrum from people. I always say to them, I just want my equal/balance,; a person that contributes as much as I do, and at times when one of us is not at our best the other picks up (I think it's also known as the 80/20 rule)
Her equating stay at home mom with trad wife is SO wrong. My mom stayed at home to raise us, but she also ran the finances and lead the household decisions, and wasn’t a passive and submissive member in the family.
My mum and dad married in 1960. My mum and dad shared the financial decisions and my mum gave my dad an allowance every pay day; despite him being the one with the ‘job’. Was that way until he died. He was happy if he had enough in his wallet for a beer and some chewing gum.
right, my cousin is a stay at home mom, and she's amazing, granted thankfully her husband also does his part too and it's not one sided; she does the regular stuff but she also homeschools their children (she has a teaching degree) and takes them to fun interactive things and is an awesome fun mom and wife.
My mom always ran the finances because my dad was bad with money. Even during the 8 years she was a stay at home mom when I was young. And yeah, she wasn’t the submissive type.
Yes and from the other perspective: Why the f would I want to be with someone that has no ambition themslefs and whoe does not challenge what I want or do. Equality in a relationship is basically the best thing ever. And knowing that someone is there with you because they WANT to and not because they HAVE to, is the greatest feeling EVER!
Literally like you can be a modern housewife just fine. Barely anyone is against that. But these women are just SO desperate for male validation they renounce feminism too and put their own asses at risk by doing that. All for validation. It's sad as hell
Why do you care enough to try to dictate what another woman does in her home? I thought women were free to choose what they wanted to do. If she wants to be traditional, that's her business not yours
I wholeheartedly believe that people should do whatever they want with their lives and their marriage, but for me personally I have a really deep desire to take care of my future husband in any way I can. I do want to have a job until kids and after they’re older but I’ve always found it nice as long as I’m not treated like shiT in the process
Finally a guy who is saying it. I made a video for passport bros on my YT channel. After being stuck in another state w no work and little money and an abusive guy, I learned very quickly that having your own money is essential. And don't get me wrong, I always did. But we moved to another state and I very quickly found a minimum wage job in real estate while looking for another. He never let me forget it and he got pissed when I started working too much. I appreciate you telling the truth. You are so fortunate to grow up w healthy parents. I am also homeschooling my child and am also a teacher. Back then wifey took drugs to cope and used a slave guide to cater to her master.
As woman construction worker that always cooks because I like to and loves makeup and has a broad collection of it, it’s just annoying how these anti feminist ppl have to lie to be “right.” I literally love all 3 things and don’t look down on women that cook/ clean/ like to look good because not everyone that’s a feminist goes around wearing a potato sack and not owning mirrors, eating tv dinners, it’s just so made up.
Right? I'm a feminist and I love cooking and baking, playing around with makeup, and thrifting for vintage clothes. I also love screaming during baseball games, organizing my comic book collection, and rewatching my favorite terrible horror movies. People are capable of being more than one attribute at a time. I coo over babies and prefer being alone 99% of the time. I think women should have the final say over their own bodies and still think flowers are pretty. Let women be multifaceted already, society!
Fr! I have a degree and a decent paying full time job in a career I love. I also love to cook and do my makeup. I don’t always love cleaning (who does tbh) but I still do it consistently. Regardless of those things, I still consider myself very feminine. These “tradwives” act like having a job = ur a man now
Shannon, listen, cooking and cleaning is not a character trait in women,it's basic life skills,it's not a choice,it is if you have money, but if you want to eat and be clean then you are going to have to do that, including men
Im a feminist. Im also recently a stay at home wife, with no kids. Im temporarily disabled and can't work due to medical appointments and treatments that take up more time than a full time job. I keep the household running, take care of the dogs, cook and clean and my husband works his ass off to support us. Know what else he does? He cleans and cooks on the days when i can't stand up long enough to make it to the bathroom without a walker. He hounds me to rest more, offers to do more around the house constantly, helps to bathe me on days when my pain is too much and generally steps up to the f*ck!ng plate over and over again. I have free access to all of our finances, and can purchase anything I'd like but i *choose* to discuss any purchase over $100 with him first. Im 36, we've been together almost 8 years and married for 7 of them. It's give and take, so i work hard to find ways to give that are equal to what i need to take.
wanna bet on what happens when one of these tiktok "Tradwives" get divorced and left with nothing? I bet 10 [KROMER] that they blame it on themselves and try again.
Please 😅😅😅 im a tradwife. I think about that all the time. Like at any minute i could be on the streets. Dont ever give up your power ladies. If you do become a tradwife make sure your husband gives you half his check
They have NO IDEA how we ask questions immediately about them-- "how's your relationship with your mother" and other such things on the first date. They want subservient women and sex (even though traditionalists would want to wait for marriage--these hypocrites don't want that part). Let's not even start how we don't take the man's last name!
I’m Asian, I hope they know most foreigns are very family oriented but also the relationship can be very transactional most of the time. You will not just be taking care of her, but also her family.
I am a housewife, following in the footsteps of my mother, who stayed home to raise my sister and I. I love cooking and cleaning and supporting my husband, it is a genuine passion of mine. So it should go without saying that I understand and greatly respect this occupation. And that also means I know better than anyone that a lot of stars need to align for it to work; these trad influencers never so much as acknowledge any of the things that could go wrong, in fact many of them explicitly say to not have any backup plan, not go to college, get married and start having children as young as possible, which puts women in extremely vulnerable situations, vulnerable to abuse, vulnerable to divorce that will leave them and their children greatly economically disadvantaged, etc. And a lot of the types of men who are attracted to a dynamic like this are very often not the kind of people I would trust to not have such a situation arise. Take it from a feminist housewife, if you want to be one, more power to you. Heck you can totally do the whole 1950s period accurate LARPing if you're into it, I don't care what you do with your life and I don't think the majority of feminists do either. But trying to sell it to others without encouraging any safety measures is irresponsible at best. Compound that with the fact that a lot of these trad people overlap with far right fundamentalism and Christian nationalism, and support the politicians who overturned Roe and want to do even worse things to women's rights, and you have a big ol' cocktail of awfulness. As a homemaker I feel no kinship with these people.
Omg this reminds me of a girl I knew who hadn't even graduated high school and there was an older guy who was 30 that she was dating. He basically was pushing her into a marriage. She wanted to go to art school and he kept tell her only after they marry she can. She got married to this guy. It felt very hurried and controlling to me. I know women too that had gotten married after only a few months of knowing a guy and got a child right away. Its kinda giving me abuse vibes and their marriage will not exactly be happy if that is their end goal with no thought process of concerns about how hurried and rushed they were pushed into the marriage.
14:37 tbh if this was the only thing I’d seen from her I’d be like “yeah. I hate having to work too. I’m so sleepy all the time” BUT TO WEAPONIZE THAT??? My sleepy is not your ammunition to take away my rights
How do people not understand that feminism is all about choice??? It really baffles me. Like its been made clear plenty of times, but they just dont get it?
If y’all want to put a single simple word to define all types of feminism that would be “equality” it is called feminism bc it is named for bringing women up to equal footing to men.
I was a trad wife - because it was best for my kids. My husband made the money, I took care of the children. It wasn’t a statement, it wasn’t a flex, it was a choice for my kid’s development. I ended up divorcing that guy at 43 because he didn’t respect the contribution I was making, so be careful before entering into this type of situation. Make sure your partner respects your job as a care provider and housekeeper (it’s not a bad word) even though you don’t get a paycheck. Being a “trad” wife of fine as long as you’re being respected by everyone, especially your husband.
@TheSwordofTruth your partner not valuing you or your contributions to the marriage and household is a very good reason to divorce? Tf 😂 I sure as hell wouldn't want to stay married to someone who took advantage of my contributions but couldn't recognize and appreciate them
@TheSwordofTruth christianity is about 2,000 years old, the concept of marriage is estimated to be about 4,000 sorry but your god wasn't even believed to exist for half of the time marriage has been practiced so I don't believe he can dictate what constitutes a divorce and more importantly neither can you
@@TheSwordofTruth don't inject your pov to others if someone isn't happy or isn't getting the respect they deserve they will leave the relationship! If the gender was reversed you won't be here saying this
my grandma was a 'trad wife', she was taller, heavier and stronger than my grandpa and was the boss of the house, even butchered chickens and pigs! my mom always told me that I shouldn't think about marriage and children until I'm 30 and have money and a good idea of where my life is headed, because otherwise a man might try to take advantage
Hard to believe that women are actually deprived of the CHOICE to be SAHM or trad wife. As long as the husbands and the wife agree to the arrangement, you are free to go. On the other hand, if you want to be the breadwinner, you have to face not only the glass ceiling (lack of paternity leave) but also the criticisms of not being submissive enough. So to me, in a world that women compete in the workplace on a tilted stage, with the culture and institution encourage women to leave the workplace, talking abt the freedom to be trad is somewhat funny.
there’s a reason we have tried for centuries to try and grow feminism and help women do things like get jobs. it’s because women’s lives back then were not good. if life back then (when practically every single woman was a trad wife) was as good for women as it was for men, then women would never have fought to change things.
As a traditional person, i think it DOES work. However, like you said, we deserve the RIGHT to do otherwise because not every situation is the same and not every person wants the same thing.
Something that drives me crazy about this whole movement is that women like this are completely blind to the reality of most people in the world. I am sure there are a lot of parents who would love to stay at home and raise kids, keep their homes orderly, and cook meals for their families. The issue is not feminism, but the fact that many can't afford to. It is rarer these days for a household to survive on one income comfortably, so most families have both parents working to make ends meet. It literally is a privilege now.
As a White woman in my 60's, this guy, right here, is, to me, the ideal man. Not afraid of women having equal rights, respectful, and frankly cute as heck. I've known some very insecure men who, ironically not through bride shopping, have been to foreign countries and brought back brides, always much younger than them. Each of these men were rabid Trump-bro conservatives, generally really religious without sticking to the celibacy parts 😆 It NEVER ended well. They treated the women with condescension, sometimes outright racism, and sadly the US vibe was complete culture shock for these women. I could tell that this was these women's immigration plan for a better life in each case. So funny that, five years to the day they all got married and got their green cards, they filed for divorce.
Like ❤ I almost crying here. Especially since this week I'm Nigeria, we've been bombarded with celebrity weddings, especially Davido's wedding. Being single is so hard this time of the year. Love is on the air❤❤
Theres nothing wrong with wanting a traditional marriage, BUT. She seems to be basically putting the blame on American women saying theyre not "traditional" like its a bad thing? No! Its fine if people aren't traditional and are independent! Why cant people just understand that?!?!
I've seen a few of your videos and this one cemented me in as a follower. Very well said. You are a REAL man! The world needs more of you! Subscribed! 😊
What I don't get is, you never see an "alpha male" with a "trade wife." Or at least I don't. What's up with that? Wouldn't a big "macho man" love a woman who already belittles herself?
No, they want to break an independant woman. They want to force women into submission- it's power. If a woman is willingly submitting without first having her spirit broken its not fun for them. The challenge is what appeals to them. They enjoy breaking us.
These men don't want already submissive wives, they want independent women they can break and mold into the specific brand of tradwive they prefer. That's why Tate and the other alpha bros are always surrounded by "promiscuous" looking women, to use them and degrade them in front of their audience, they don't consider them as people, they are objects to signify their status but they also don't want to date Pearl or any tradwife who tries to appeal to them because there is no challenge to prove their "male strength"
Nope they want an exotic bird to cage against its will. What good is a boring colorless bird that goes into the cage willingly? Then he wouldn't have "conquered" her 🤢🤢🤢
Why do some people think all feminist women hate all men like they just want respect and free will, what is so wrong with that? Stop coming for women who have actual expectations.
Right? I'm very much a feminist who enjoys cooking and is bored to death by football. So one of my cherished memories of being married was whipping up assorted hot snacks and cocktails for my husband and his friends on game days! That effort was always much appreciated.
I honestly think it’s because people take us saying “men shouldn’t expect us to do everything for them” and “women should be treated like an equal partner” translates to them as “we hate men” because they see do men as people we should be doing everything for and more important so it’s like we are just hating “what a man should be”
There's a small (really small, to reiterate) subsect of radfems who genuinely believe that there's, like, legit no such a thing as a good man, including relatives. They're usually very loud on twitter and they have braindead takes that usually make the rounds once everybody's dunking on it, and then anti-feminists use them as a scapegoat to be like, "see? feminists DO think all men are evil!!!" So it's not that these people don't exist, they just aren't *nearly* as common as so many would think. And besides, most of these radfems usually form these opinions due to severe trauma at the hands of men (and from my own observation a lot of them are pretty young), and I think (or at least I hope) they get over that with good therapy. They're definitely a minority. But they're such a minority it's ridiculous that so many people refuse to believe the majority of feminists aren't like that.
@@nancymcmonarch If I had to pick between watching any sports game on tv and cooking a whole meal that takes three hours, I'm cooking, because at least I can just put headphones on and listen to music or a podcast or something and drown out the hooting and hollering. Football bores me to tears and don't even get me started on baseball 😭
@@zombieedrea It's just very interesting how different we all are. I love watching a good football game and am bored to death by cooking. Really makes you see it's just a person thing
These women know that they couldn’t have a credit card under their own name until the 1970s, right? Also, their complaint is about capitalism, not feminism.
@@jamesberlo4298 Men have 2% more credit card debt than women. Men have 20% more personal loan debt than women. Men have 16.3% more auto loan debt than women. Men have 9.7% more mortgage debt than women. Women have 2.7% more student loan debt than men. You got your head so deep in stereotype that you forgot to check with reality. Society is better when women have power over their own lives and can be responsible for their own actions to the fullest degree. Power begets responsibility and women deserve all of both.
Corporations and capitalism have destroyed this country that's the problem it doesn't have anything to do with anything else, we don't have a choice because what our government has done to us, the corporations pay them off and we all work for pennies like slaves, I can tell you most women would rather stay home and do cooking and cleaning and be able to teach their own children in their own home, but the government and the corporations are in bed together and we can't do that anymore they have taken away all our rights!! This isn't about feminism, it's about capitalism corporations in a dirty government!!! Why doesn't somebody start talking about that instead of spreading lies!!
What I'm hearing her saying is: "I don't wanna work, I don't wanna think, I am a trad wife, I want nothing more than to be an ornament." No judgement, just what I'm hearing
Many men these days want a woman to work to bring in money but to also at the same time do everything a 1950s housewife would do. Be careful, him wanting you to have a job does not automatically make him a good guy
I love wearing dresses, decorating my home and sewing my own clothes. I also love being a mathematician, my job and that my boyfriend cooks for me. And I love feminism for making this life possible.
Same. I'm a lawyer, but I also enjoy wearing dresses, doing my nails, decorating my home, crafting, gardening. My husband is the cook, though, and damn is he good at it. We co-parent, we co-diy, we co-relax, as we're both big nerds. I thank my lucky stars every day that I get to be an adult woman in the 21st century, cuz otherwise, I would probably have been a spinster.
The second lady is reminding me of my high school teacher's wife who would sometimes come to the school and sit in class with us. She was a stay at home wife. I once commented on how I could never be a stay at home wife (not to her or in reference to her, just talking to other people) and she got sooo offended and literally threw a hissy fit for her husband to punish me for saying that because apparently I said "stay at home wives are useless" according to her. People like this just like to invent scenarios in their heads where they're the victims.
As a Latina I don't like men telling me what to do. I mean Latino culture is woman at home, and man at work. But we have become more independent over time and we are spicy feisty kind of women to just let us be ruled by men .
One time I was in a store trying to see something on a shelf behind a Latino man so I was staring past him & his Latina wife went OFF on me😂 she was like "I know you're not looking at my man,bi@#!" AND I SWEAR TO THE UNIVERSE I was just trying to see if they had a certain kind of baby wipes. Girl, I was so scared for my life. I then realized that she was carrying a baby carrier and her hormones were probably all over the place. I've never seen a man move so quickly in my life!😂

One of my closest friends is Brazilian and likes to work, but she also has no problem doing traditional stuff like cooking everything, cleaning, etc., especially if you're in a relationship with her. Lowkey, she was born to be a wife and mother because that's something she really wants and I know she'd be wonderful at it. THAT SAID...I have seen her rage and oh, lordy. She won't lift a finger for you if you mistreat her. She might chop them off, though lmfao
The original trad wives who are coming out of 20+ yr marriages are the first ones to say trad-wife life is terrible in the long run. Their marriages failed, ex-husbs shacked up with much-younger girls, and ex-trad wives have no work exp to get a good-paying job or money to support themselves or their kids. They're financially in the gutter without opportunities to go up, suffering for too long. So sad....
I learned that lesson in my early twenties because of my teenage bride Christian marriage. When the man wants the woman to take over all of his basic life support tasks at the cost of her ability to have her own interests and hobbies, it’s only a matter of time before she figures out that her life is dramatically easier without him. Then the men have to go to greater lengths to find someone to con into filling that role for 5 years or so, until she knows better. And eventually, they’re just an unattractive man in his 40s-50s who can’t clean up after himself or do his own laundry, still trying to find a young girl inexperienced enough for him to bully into caretaking for him.
I've been with my husband for 10 years. He helps with the foster cats, cooking and cleaning. And is helping with my attempt to start a business! Why wouldn't you want an actual partner?
My mom had a point in my childhood where she was a stay at home mom for a few years. It didn't last bc bills are expensive, but even then she drilled it into my head that when or if I got married, I still needed to be able to support myself if something ever happened. It took her almost 15 years of being married to my dad before she took a break from work because before my dad, she was with a very abusive guy who wouldn't let her work and she had to sneak call her father and get money sent to her so she could pick it up and leave the state bc that was the only way she could get out. These trad wives don't really realize how the men who insist on having a submissive woman are a lot of times, going to be either mentally or physically abusive, or both. I don't want any woman to end up stuck in 10/20 years with an awful man and have no way of getting out bc they don't have money of their own and have been cut off from anyone who would've helped.
You are spot on. Those "girls" are horrible. My brother hooked up with a Filipino woman (or three) and then had a kid. They broke up, he pays, he is a fool. Divorced in 20s, string of young women until he got fat late 40s, then did this for the same reasons, "I can't deal with Western women". He drinks, smokes and is generally self-absorbed. He has a kid from his marriage and my nephew doesn't speak to him, and he doesn't understand why. It's sad. I feel sorry for the lady because we live in North America and she is stuck taking care of the kid. Some people think sending a woman money is taking care of a kid, but it's not. Luckily, she has family to help. Some people never look in the mirror.
What's worse is that women like me, shake our heads at women like this. I grew up in the south, have conservative views and Im a stay at home wife. I wanted to homeschool my kids so that I'd have more time with them. I do want a career some day and im even going to school. Everything hubby and I have is in both of our names. These women are terrible examples to young girls from a poor background. Even if you choose this life you have to make sure that you and your children are taken care of. I've seen women get kicked out of their own homes and their children taken until they could finally afford an attorney. Some haven't seen their own children in years! My advice, ALWAYS protect yourself and your children first and above everything. Even if you have a good man "who would never", prepare for anything! Have an emergency stash of money, jewelry or whatever. He could also pass away like young people do all the time.
Yikes, very good advice! The worst stories I used to read were of women whose husbands wanted to trade them in for a younger model, and pulled whatever power strings to get the wives committed to mental hospitals. 😨 Back in the 1940s and 50s, doctors and lawyers tended to side with the husbands.
The whole passport bro thing is so fucked. My mums friend married her husband when he came over to her country and met her. He controls every aspect of her life, is racist despite being married to her, manipulates her values to become his, prevents her from seeing and living near her friends and thus isolates her, but she has no money of her own and has spent so long with him she genuinely can’t leave him. has led to anxiety so bad she literally tears out her hair, but she can’t see she would be better off without him.
My grandfather and grandmother both worked outside the home and then both took care of the household chores. My grandpa loved to cook and clean. My grandma helped with the construction of their homes. When she had a stroke, he retired early to take care of her. He took care of her, the house, and babysat me. Traditional values should be about being a team.
I'm reading through the Bible this year, and it actually kind of put things into perspective. Women were in some ways better taken care of in Bible times than they were in the 50s. They had the state to fall back on if their husbands died, they did their own work to help the family make money. Obviously it was still a flawed system, but back then gender roles seemed to have a more practical use. Men's work was typically hard labor, and women spent more time making clothes and other resources both for their families and to make money. Meanwhile the 50s housewife was a direct result of the 1940s working women. They pushed the ideal so hard because men came back from war and felt threatened knowing women were incredibly capable in a corporate environment. Women have /always/ worked, especially in lower class environments. These women desperately need a history lesson.
Keep in mind in "bible times" also at least half the men and women were enslaved, and many were Bedouins. 9-5 husbands and cookie baking wives did not exist back then.
The “implication” is so true. That’s just the part they don’t say out loud because “technically” they still have free will and could say no and not be an unpaid sex worker/ house slave/mother all in one, but they “want” to.
ikr feminism literally means the right to choose and be treated equally….not better, equally!! ppl have been brainwashed that it means something that it doesn’t lmao
They will never cause that will ruin the status quo. They’re not stupid. They know what they’re doing. The whole point is they don’t want equality. They can’t imagine a world where men don’t dominate & women aren’t second class humans.
Both my mother and grandmother had traditional marriages. But I also had it hammered into my memory to always ALWAYS make your own money and not be 100% reliant on another person, including your spouse. You never EVER know what can happen.
My brother met his wife when he was studying in thailand. She is thai, older than him and goes to work while he stays at home caring for their child and the house ... a thai women isn`t more traditional because she is thai. It`s how it is in any other country. In the bigger cities you`ll have more modern ppl while on the country side you`ll probably find more traditional ones. And especially in thailand it`s pretty common, that the women are working too. Even with the parents of my sister in law, the mom is still working while her dad stays at home. And also: at a traditional thai marriage the husband has to give to his future wife a huge amount of money (more traditional is gold), because in thailand there is no palimony, so this money or gold stays with the wife to give her safty in case the marriage doesn`t work out. The woman isn`t traditional submissive in thailand.
what i think is funny is that these women seem to think that feminists have to have full time jobs and hate all men. I'm a stay at home mom, i cook dinner every night, keep the house clean, and respect my husband. And i am 100% a feminist, loud and proud. The best part? My husband actually respects me back! crazy right?
WHAT?? GRR, IMPOSSIBLE! Jk, I’m extremely happy for you, stranger on the internet 💙‼️
oh heavens!! you are a feminist AND a housewife? insaneeeee (i'm joking. My mom is just like you. Keep shining, lady. you rock.)
They’re probably mad that that’s not the case for them so this is how they cope and get validation online
But NO ONE would dare call my 6 foot, barrel-chested, baritone-voiced father "emasculated". Honestly, he didn't give a fuck about what others would say, his masculinity was never fragile. He was a good, feminist-thinking man and I give him a lot of credit for helping me shape my own feminist views, alongside all of the amazing women in my life
Beautifully said!
Your dad's a legend for not letting societal expectations get in the way of his being a great parent. Good partners and parents look at what needs to be done in the family, what makes financial sense and what makes sense for the individual aspirations of each spouse - not at what each person is "supposed" to do simply because of their gender.

Mine was too and I'm so sad to admit that I let that be embarrassing to me I hate myself for that

So true! Preach girl!!
I was shouting this during the video😂
There are many places where you don’t have to work 9/5 to survive, but that would require shoveling dung. I think these people like the comfort of a life capitalism can give them, but don’t like the price they have to pay in return. It’s a Faustian bargain all right.
this is exactly what i was thinking-- like, i'm happy to also let my male coworker have a day off to rest when his body is in intense pain, he's miserable, and the doctor he may or may not have the capacity to go to won't take him seriously because he's experiencing that same level of pain every month consistently.
The "trend" of talking about having a traditional marriage is just weird to me 😭 like if you want one just have it, no need to put other women down
But they're trad wives!!😢😢 men want THAT not women with rights and feelings that's too much of a woman than a mom!!
That's classic projection behavior.
Never heard of the term trad wife before. We used to call them stepford wives.

Yeah there is a dark side to all of this that no one is addressing
I am so sorry that you and your mom had to endure all of that. Hugs ❤ I hope that you are both in a safe place now.
Daduq are we fighting for? We have it easier than the men
This is my exact point with literally all politics, im constantly miserable and stressed but thats because im watching all the terrible stuff happening to women and people all around the world, these people dont know literally anything about the weird world and they twist everything people with different opinions say so that they are somehow victimized, its so tiring
thank you for writing this, 100% agree

Your mom it's the best tho, mine told me that too
My mom told me that too
My mom told me that too! She encourages me to be able to stand on my own feet!
Old lady here….our grandmothers and mothers tried to explain to us that women need to be able to take care of themselves financially so as not to be trapped in an abusive relationship or destitute if your husband leaves you or dies. Simple.
My whole family embedded this in my head when I was younger haha
yes, in a perfect world if i grow up and get married i would be able to trust my husband 100%. but, i've seen so many women including my mother let down their guard financially once married, their husband doesn't allow them to work, and then they're trapped in an awful relationship they can't afford to leave right away.
my dad has both great and not so great qualities, I learned a lot from those that were great qualities and had to unlearn those that weren't. my mother often told me to date around when I was young, not to get to caught up the idea of marriage and kids with my first love. it was very telling when you really think about the underlying reasons as to why she felt that way and I'm a male. she was telling me things she wish she knew at a young age. I learned a lot from her as well.
Exactly
Absolutely! My grandma always told me, "Don't be a kept woman."
All women don't have submission fetishes like these Republican women.
Good luck on your baby!!
I know. Starting around about the 1980s women were/are made to feel like they are leeches or gold diggers if they want to do things that way. It's insane. It's terrible that most people just can't afford to have a one income family. I believe that was done on purpose and I don't think feminism was a totally organic movement.
And THAT is how to do it a “traditional” split in with true equality and rational future planning! 🎉
Congrats on the baby, I hope you all live a happy and long life!

We love the character building arc!
What a remarkable story lol, actually fascinating
my uncle also married a woman from Thailand but he seems miserable af, I'm pretty sure she used him as a sperm donor, I don't feel bad for him lol
yeah the whole passport bro thing is very stupid and has no foresight. as a Latino, I've seen so many immigrant women become Americanized. if you don't treat that woman right, it will not matter if she was raised in an another culture; she will inevitably cheat or leave you anyways. shit that can happen even if you aren't a complete asshole. if you aren't fulfilling them in every way, it will not change that most women will find a way out inevitably, native born or foreign. also, they don't just stay with a foreign mindset. they meet other woman and "get corrupted" aka learn how life can be better.
I haven't heard of such a strong growth arc since Prinze Zuko switched sides. Seriously, damn.
You are awesome! You really are! Took care of yourself, so good ❤
I’m so sorry it’s a struggle but have so much admiration for you! Xxx
I'm so sorry you had to deal with a series of such awful events and I am so glad you are doing better, bless you and your family

Idk why people keep equating trad wife to abusive marriage. Girl your husband was abusive, has nothing to do with trad or not. He would’ve still been abusive even if you lived a non trad life style.

My mum was NOT one of these ‘tradwives’ who was ‘submissive’ but a fiery and strong-willed woman. I havr seen men shedding a tear because of a needle's pin.
Facts!
Sing it baby! 🗣️
I agree 💯 👏

dudeeee it makes me sad how these people think feminism is bad??? feminism supports people putting on makeup for their husband if they want or not having to wear makeup if they want damn
yeah like these women don’t understand that feminism is all about CHOICE
👏👏👏💯
if it’s a choice why is everyone angry
YES EXACLY! They need to live in Afghanistan for a month to understand what life REALLY is without feminism.
I agree. It’s literally just people being unable to control their own fetishes. It’s sad, really.
"I don't have the energy to do anything besides simply exist because i'm so sleepy?" I'm pretty sure you just described depression...

Or even an iron deficiency
That is literally how I was when I was depressed... I was depressed because I was in a terribly abusive relationship

no literally i related to what she said but like girl that’s depression not womanhood😭
Yoooo Caitlin! Love your videos

i literally had this convo with another girl who said she hated feminism bc she wanted to be an housewife later in life. like girl, the option to have that choice at all is feminist. we want you to be ABLE to make that choice.

Hello, Im Russian and I just hope that this war ends, Russians are not against Ukraine, Putin is. I pray you and your family are blessed and stay safe
We saw this a lot on Reddit. Guys would go onto the news subs and ask how they could "help" the women fleeing Ukraine. And some of them would post about how "annoying" it was that the local Catholic charities in their area weren't just letting the incoming Ukrainians stay with them
reject them fr !!
Cute story, but it isn't the type of "American" as reported by the UN-
"The UN refugee agency has called on the UK government to intervene to stop single British men from being matched up with lone Ukrainian women seeking refuge from war because of fears of sexual exploitation.

Honey, I think that's called depression, not being a woman.

Also, all sleep studies have been done on men, and only apply it to women as "smaller men". No, their whole mentality is: " if I participate in dragging other women down, I will be exempt from their mistreatment."

Exactly, these people cannot understand a balance of ideals. Everything is black and white, either one form of extremity or the other.
My mum and dad married in 1960. My mum and dad shared the financial decisions and my mum gave my dad an allowance every pay day; despite him being the one with the ‘job’. Was that way until he died. He was happy if he had enough in his wallet for a beer and some chewing gum.
This is so true ! Trad wives are performing/cosplaying as SAHM.
right, my cousin is a stay at home mom, and she's amazing, granted thankfully her husband also does his part too and it's not one sided; she does the regular stuff but she also homeschools their children (she has a teaching degree) and takes them to fun interactive things and is an awesome fun mom and wife.
My mom always ran the finances because my dad was bad with money. Even during the 8 years she was a stay at home mom when I was young. And yeah, she wasn’t the submissive type.
Never understood the appeal of tradwivery tbh. Like why would you willingly choose to be your boyfriend/husband's second mother and be okay with that?
Yes and from the other perspective: Why the f would I want to be with someone that has no ambition themslefs and whoe does not challenge what I want or do. Equality in a relationship is basically the best thing ever. And knowing that someone is there with you because they WANT to and not because they HAVE to, is the greatest feeling EVER!

He cleans and cooks on the days when i can't stand up long enough to make it to the bathroom without a walker. He hounds me to rest more, offers to do more around the house constantly, helps to bathe me on days when my pain is too much and generally steps up to the f*ck!ng plate over and over again. Yes, Italy definitely isn't a country for the passport bros.
You will not just be taking care of her, but also her family.
as an African, i agree

Feminism is the reason why men aren’t allowed to marry kids. Imagine being against that
If y’all want to put a single simple word to define all types of feminism that would be “equality” it is called feminism bc it is named for bringing women up to equal footing to men.
That's not a good reason to divorce.
@TheSwordofTruth your partner not valuing you or your contributions to the marriage and household is a very good reason to divorce? Tf 😂 I sure as hell wouldn't want to stay married to someone who took advantage of my contributions but couldn't recognize and appreciate them

my mom always told me that I shouldn't think about marriage and children until I'm 30 and have money and a good idea of where my life is headed, because otherwise a man might try to take advantage
Feminism is having the CHOICE. You can choose to be a SAHM, tradwife, whatever you're not forced to anymore.
Agreed.
there’s a reason we have tried for centuries to try and grow feminism and help women do things like get jobs. it’s because women’s lives back then were not good. if life back then (when practically every single woman was a trad wife) was as good for women as it was for men, then women would never have fought to change things.

Yeah the issue is capitalism not feminism!
It wasn’t feasible for most people, even many white people back then either. Poor women always had to work.
As a White woman in my 60's, this guy, right here, is, to me, the ideal man. Not afraid of women having equal rights, respectful, and frankly cute as heck.

Some people never look in the mirror.
the way he mimiced her 😭😭😭💀💀💀 SO ACCURATE
Moms little helper 😏
I SCREAMED WHEN SHE SAID LATINA
As a Mexican, my man won’t ever even dare to tell me what to do 😂
You, your mom, your aunts, all your sisters, your grandmothers, and every woman in a five mile radius would come down on him SO HARD lol
Yeah, I've heard that Mexican women are "firey" and definitely not submissive.
Ikr my mom is Costa Rican and is an immigrant, my dad would NEVER disrespect or yell at her. I love my mom, she’s so powerful and is honestly my idol
Right??? Especially here in Mexico it's so funny to see men come and expect submissive but they not get what they expect jaja 😂
This sounds so familiar to a friend of mine and that’s honestly not OK when you realise how common it must be.
Oh how I’d love to have a drink with you and talk. I agree with you on most, but I’d love to pick your brain.
The “implication” is so true. That’s just the part they don’t say out loud because “technically” they still have free will and could say no and not be an unpaid sex worker/ house slave/mother all in one, but they “want” to.
Well and let’s be real if you are only allowed to be in the US because you’re married to a citizen the implication is also that you could be deported
Cooper looks like he smells like either: 1. Vanilla 2. Lavender 3. Orange 4. Coconut
(This is a compliment)
i think he smells like orange, he gives me citrus vibes
orange blossom hand sanitizer (with hints of vanilla) from bath and body works is what I think
coconut and orange DEFINITELY
@@Ed_she_ran OMG YES
Vanilla or coconut ❤😂
“Did you do this make up for your husband or the TikTok, doesn’t seem very trad wife to me, VICTORIA”

When will people learn that feminism doesn’t equal hating men/femininity but equally the ability to choose and equal rights for woman AND MEN ????
ikr feminism literally means the right to choose and be treated equally….not better, equally!! ppl have been brainwashed that it means something that it doesn’t lmao
Yeah, these ppl have problems with misandrists, not feminists, but they don’t know that.
If only that existed in the court system
They will never cause that will ruin the status quo. They’re not stupid. They know what they’re doing. The whole point is they don’t want equality. They can’t imagine a world where men don’t dominate & women aren’t second class humans.
Both my mother and grandmother had traditional marriages. But I also had it hammered into my memory to always ALWAYS make your own money and not be 100% reliant on another person, including your spouse. You never EVER know what can happen.
Yep, even if the marriage is perfect, life happens. If your spouse dies or is disabled and you’re 100% dependent on them, it’s going to be very hard.
I have the opposite problem the passport bros have. I'm trying to leave where I am (Utah) to get away from all the trad wives.
