what i think is funny is that these women seem to think that feminists have to have full time jobs and hate all men. I'm a stay at home mom, i cook dinner every night, keep the house clean, and respect my husband. And i am 100% a feminist, loud and proud. The best part? My husband actually respects me back! crazy right?

Right!! The whole point of feminism is the freedom to choose the lifestyle you want. Whether that’s being a stay at home mom, a workaholic, or somewhere in between is all completely fine as long as you feel happy and fulfilled. It’s about equal opportunity for everyone!!

I'm a single, cottage-core woman with a bunch of traditional interests; baking, cooking, gardening, homesteading, painting, I even do embroidery. And I attract a lot of men who want a trad-wife. And they are soooo nice at first. But then they realize I, today, also mow the lawn, do car maintenance, house repairs and even renovations, so they can't trick me into thinking that is equal to all of the housework.
And then I tell them I will not be the main caretaker of any children and they will have to do their part. And then they want to bargain and I dump them because if we put the cards down and all your bringing is a good job, a 50s fetish, the easiest parts of house-owning and an ok personality I will not waste my time nor my homegrown strawberry desserts on you.
Edit: Thank you all for the kind response! While this comment was going off I succeeded in a massive life goal: I bought my own house! It's small, with need of renovations, standing in the middle of a vast field in the countryside. It's perfect. And seeing all this encouragement while dealing with paperwork, moving and starting renovating and has been lovely. My two gsd-mutts and I love our new home, and I replanted all my strawberry plants in my new wild garden. So, thank you!

My father was the stay-at-home parent because my mother's job paid better. He was the "room dad" whenever the school needed parents to chaperone special events. And when it came to household chores, he did the laundry and even ironed his handkerchiefs (he was "traditional" in that sense). But NO ONE would dare call my 6 foot, barrel-chested, baritone-voiced father "emasculated". Honestly, he didn't give a fuck about what others would say, his masculinity was never fragile. He was a good, feminist-thinking man and I give him a lot of credit for helping me shape my own feminist views, alongside all of the amazing women in my life

Wow a lot of misandrists here. That's sad. Well I guess it's what I expected, it is pretty normalized.
Why is it so hard to just respect each other tho? A minority of men treat women badly, and a minority of women treat men badly. There's no need to generalize and despise an entire gender for it. Misandry is impactful. Misogyny as well. A lot of women don't think misandry is impactful, but that's funny because they think that AS a woman, whom aren't affected by it.

He really mellowed out after because he got humbled hard and realized he has to work on himself and his own attitude towards women. Especially since they have a strong feminist daughter. Anyways, he then went for an ultra feminist woman on the opposite side of the spectrum who was a bit too unstable but he actually liked how fun life got when he wasn’t pulling all the financial weight and helped her out with all the chores. He learned how to make food too. 10/10 a total turn around and thankful for that.

I got laughed out of interviews because i didn't type fast enough to even be a an admin assistant. I had a college degree but guess what, a general studies diploma does absolutely nothing. I moved to a different state because I knew my ex would drag me back in if i was within 500 miles. My first job post divorce paid $11/hr and literally the only thing i could get because i had a massive gap in my work history, no employers did not care that the reason was raising kids and taking care of a household. It has taken me 9 years and 5 job changes but I finally have a job I love and pays me enough to support myself and my kids. I'm extremely proud of my progress and my ability to show my children that I did this on my own, for all of us. I’m the biggest feminist, if a woman wants to be a trad wife, girl go for it!! The issue with that comes when some trad wives hate on other women for not being “traditional” and want to work, and have big goals for themselves. If your goal is to have a big family, be a stay at home mom, etc, go for it! Those are your goals and you should achieve that, but you can’t hate on women who want to be independently successful, who want to build a career, maybe who make more than their male spouses. That goes vice versa as well, you can’t be a “feminist” and then get mad at women who want to be trad wives. The whole point of feminism is for women to be able to do what THEY want.

Cute story, but it isn't the type of "American" as reported by the UN-
"The UN refugee agency has called on the UK government to intervene to stop single British men from being matched up with lone Ukrainian women seeking refuge from war because of fears of sexual exploitation.
Following claims that predatory men are using the Homes for Ukraine scheme to target the vulnerable, the United Nations high commissioner for refugees (UNHCR) told the Guardian “a more appropriate matching process” could be put in place to ensure women and women with children are matched with families or couples." (The Guardian- 2 years ago).
So, nobody goes over there, they USED to go onto a Facebook group in order to be predatory toward women in Ukraine. The matching would sometimes pair the single men, many British and other Europeans, with Ukrainian women. The fact that you didn't know that this is predominantly happening in Europe, by European men and traffickers, then blaming it on Americans is pretty toxic and an outright lie.

A submissive woman in an environment where they're expected to get married and care for a husband and children would have already been married and doing so. I know two men personally that married Thai mail order brides. (They didn't want anyone questioning there are extra curricular activities in this case) and were both successful New York businessman. Well, both of those women were some of the least passive women I've ever met! But boy were they taken care of! ... because they demanded so! Lol

If a man truly wanted a traditional wife he'd want to be a traditional man and marry a Mormon, pentacostal, or Catholic woman. No need to travel the world. Funny thing is these women in the East don't even want western men 😂 The comments i see from them telling men "stay over there!" Has me ROLLING!! 😂😂💀

There’s a massive difference between being independent enough to leave a partner you are “putting up with” and being emotionally unavailable to any and all relationships. I don’t need my man - I want him, because he makes it easy to choose to stay. Were he ever to wake up one day and decide to be an asshole, I would be gone. It just feels like the way you phrased this is yet another voice telling women they should be less discerning. No - either it’s the love you want, or you’re better off alone.

I am a housewife, following in the footsteps of my mother, who stayed home to raise my sister and I. I love cooking and cleaning and supporting my husband, it is a genuine passion of mine. So it should go without saying that I understand and greatly respect this occupation. And that also means I know better than anyone that a lot of stars need to align for it to work; these trad influencers never so much as acknowledge any of the things that could go wrong, in fact many of them explicitly say to not have any backup plan, not go to college, get married and start having children as young as possible, which puts women in extremely vulnerable situations, vulnerable to abuse, vulnerable to divorce that will leave them and their children greatly economically disadvantaged, etc. And a lot of the types of men who are attracted to a dynamic like this are very often not the kind of people I would trust to not have such a situation arise.
Take it from a feminist housewife, if you want to be one, more power to you. Heck you can totally do the whole 1950s period accurate LARPing if you're into it, I don't care what you do with your life and I don't think the majority of feminists do either. But trying to sell it to others without encouraging any safety measures is irresponsible at best. Compound that with the fact that a lot of these trad people overlap with far right fundamentalism and Christian nationalism, and support the politicians who overturned Roe and want to do even worse things to women's rights, and you have a big ol' cocktail of awfulness. Something that drives me crazy about this whole movement is that women like this are completely blind to the reality of most people in the world. I am sure there are a lot of parents who would love to stay at home and raise kids, keep their homes orderly, and cook meals for their families. The issue is not feminism, but the fact that many can't afford to. It is rarer these days for a household to survive on one income comfortably, so most families have both parents working to make ends meet. It literally is a privilege now.

As a White woman in my 60's, this guy, right here, is, to me, the ideal man. Not afraid of women having equal rights, respectful, and frankly cute as heck. I've known some very insecure men who, ironically not through bride shopping, have been to foreign countries and brought back brides, always much younger than them. Each of these men were rabid Trump-bro conservatives, generally really religious without sticking to the celibacy parts 😆 It NEVER ended well. They treated the women with condescension, sometimes outright racism, and sadly the US vibe was complete culture shock for these women. I could tell that this was these women's immigration plan for a better life in each case. So funny that, five years to the day they all got married and got their green cards, they filed for divorce.

There's a small (really small, to reiterate) subsect of radfems who genuinely believe that there's, like, legit no such a thing as a good man, including relatives. They're usually very loud on twitter and they have braindead takes that usually make the rounds once everybody's dunking on it, and then anti-feminists use them as a scapegoat to be like, "see? feminists DO think all men are evil!!!" So it's not that these people don't exist, they just aren't *nearly* as common as so many would think. And besides, most of these radfems usually form these opinions due to severe trauma at the hands of men (and from my own observation a lot of them are pretty young), and I think (or at least I hope) they get over that with good therapy. They're definitely a minority. But they're such a minority it's ridiculous that so many people refuse to believe the majority of feminists aren't like that.

I learned that lesson in my early twenties because of my teenage bride Christian marriage. When the man wants the woman to take over all of his basic life support tasks at the cost of her ability to have her own interests and hobbies, it’s only a matter of time before she figures out that her life is dramatically easier without him. Then the men have to go to greater lengths to find someone to con into filling that role for 5 years or so, until she knows better. And eventually, they’re just an unattractive man in his 40s-50s who can’t clean up after himself or do his own laundry, still trying to find a young girl inexperienced enough for him to bully into caretaking for him.

My mom had a point in my childhood where she was a stay at home mom for a few years. It didn't last bc bills are expensive, but even then she drilled it into my head that when or if I got married, I still needed to be able to support myself if something ever happened. It took her almost 15 years of being married to my dad before she took a break from work because before my dad, she was with a very abusive guy who wouldn't let her work and she had to sneak call her father and get money sent to her so she could pick it up and leave the state bc that was the only way she could get out. These trad wives don't really realize how the men who insist on having a submissive woman are a lot of times, going to be either mentally or physically abusive, or both. I don't want any woman to end up stuck in 10/20 years with an awful man and have no way of getting out bc they don't have money of their own and have been cut off from anyone who would've helped.

He has a kid from his marriage and my nephew doesn't speak to him, and he doesn't understand why. It's sad. I wanted to homeschool my kids so that I'd have more time with them. I do want a career some day and im even going to school. Everything hubby and I have is in both of our names. These women are terrible examples to young girls from a poor background. Even if you choose this life you have to make sure that you and your children are taken care of. I've seen women get kicked out of their own homes and their children taken until they could finally afford an attorney. Some haven't seen their own children in years! My advice, ALWAYS protect yourself and your children first and above everything. Even if you have a good man "who would never", prepare for anything! Have an emergency stash of money, jewelry or whatever. He could also pass away like young people do all the time.

I'm reading through the Bible this year, and it actually kind of put things into perspective. Women were in some ways better taken care of in Bible times than they were in the 50s. They had the state to fall back on if their husbands died, they did their own work to help the family make money. Obviously it was still a flawed system, but back then gender roles seemed to have a more practical use. Men's work was typically hard labor, and women spent more time making clothes and other resources both for their families and to make money. Meanwhile the 50s housewife was a direct result of the 1940s working women. They pushed the ideal so hard because men came back from war and felt threatened knowing women were incredibly capable in a corporate environment. Women have /always/ worked, especially in lower class environments. These women desperately need a history lesson.

Keep in mind in "bible times" also at least half the men and women were enslaved, and many were Bedouins. 9-5 husbands and cookie baking wives did not exist back then.

The “implication” is so true. That’s just the part they don’t say out loud because “technically” they still have free will and could say no and not be an unpaid sex worker/ house slave/mother all in one, but they “want” to.

When will people learn that feminism doesn’t equal hating men/femininity but equally the ability to choose and equal rights for woman AND MEN ????

They will never cause that will ruin the status quo. They’re not stupid. They know what they’re doing. The whole point is they don’t want equality. They can’t imagine a world where men don’t dominate & women aren’t second class humans.

Both my mother and grandmother had traditional marriages. But I also had it hammered into my memory to always ALWAYS make your own money and not be 100% reliant on another person, including your spouse. You never EVER know what can happen.

Yep, even if the marriage is perfect, life happens. If your spouse dies or is disabled and you’re 100% dependent on them, it’s going to be very hard.

My brother met his wife when he was studying in thailand. She is thai, older than him and goes to work while he stays at home caring for their child and the house ... a thai women isn`t more traditional because she is thai. It`s how it is in any other country. In the bigger cities you`ll have more modern ppl while on the country side you`ll probably find more traditional ones. And especially in thailand it`s pretty common, that the women are working too. Even with the parents of my sister in law, the mom is still working while her dad stays at home. And also: at a traditional thai marriage the husband has to give to his future wife a huge amount of money (more traditional is gold), because in thailand there is no palimony, so this money or gold stays with the wife to give her safty in case the marriage doesn`t work out. The woman isn`t traditional submissive in thailand.

I have the opposite problem the passport bros have. I'm trying to leave where I am (Utah) to get away from all the trad wives.
