At first, it was odd that a French restaurant would pander to viral gimmicky food, but at the same time, of course, it makes sense in France to smother something in melted cheese.
It looks so delicious, so it makes makes a lot of sense to me 🤣 and I don't usually go for gimmicky restaurants!

I have seen this in America tbh Every time I would see an American mukbanger they would eat a burger dipped in cheese. Idk why-I do really like cheese and hamburgers- but together like this; it’s just not for me lol
I thought the same thing. This is something America would do... yet it’s coming from Paris?? A burger drenched in cheese... doesn’t get any more American than that. Unless they add bacon to it. And of course it would be some fake cheese like Velvetta. I’m sure in Paris at least the ingredients are legit.
Burgers are actually common in France! Of course there are many French twists:
- Various French breads, can have a crispy crust like baguette.
- The beef can be rare, as in French gastronomy it’s considered that’s how it tastes best.
- Various French cheeses such as Camembert, Brie, Raclette cheeses, blue cheeses, goat cheeses...
- French sauces like Mayonnaise, Béarnaise, garlic butter...
- For salad we often use Roquette (the cheese covered burger in the video had it), it has a strong taste, kinda spicy.
If you think about it, the Hamburger is from the city of Hamburg in Germany, the French fries are from France (although they might actually have originated in neighbouring Belgium), so while they became popular in the US, they’ve been popular in Europe too.
Another Jolly video if you want a bit of a culture shock is them going to a Parisian McDonalds, you can see the French twist on it, and it’s actually kinda fancy, as they had to adapt to the pretty competitive French food scene.
I just want to put stuff in front of Ollie and hear his analogies and breakdowns of what he is experiencing. He is very creative with those and it honestly makes me enjoy the videos more.
I now call describing something so accurately and disgustingly that people go "oh no, I can't unhear that, you've ruined it" as Pulling an Ollie. Did it to my roommates the other day when we were trying some fancy violet (like the flower) biscuits. "Mmmm tastes like soap" "AAArg I didn't taste it until you said it but you're right and now that's all I can taste" Win.
My bucket list is: France and Italy. Not mainly because of the views, but because of the food. Your Jolly trip with Mr. Z and this really confirm!

Can’t believe you guys had a meal at One & One! I went there once and had one of the best (if not the best) chicken burgers I had ever tasted, their truffle and parmesan fries also are to die for.
+ It’s not food related but I recommend checking out their loo, it’s beautiful

I ordered 'the Cheesiest Burger' at this restaurant for me and my date. This was our first, and unfortunately last, date. The moment the surgical gloves arrived she excused herself on the pretext of visiting the ladies room. As I stared out the front window I saw her hop in a cab. Go figure!
You shouldn't have ordered on her behalf... Turn off regardless of the food ordered.
Sounds like she has different ideas on what fun is. Honestly, I think that sounds kind of intresting although her leaving you just cause she didn't want to do it sounds absolutely careless and unnecessary.

As someone who is currently organising the office chess tournament, I love your jumper Ollie!
Have you thought about going to Argentina and trying their food? (I heard in another video that Josh's parents-in-law live there or use to live there. Not sure.) They have great food like steak, Italian food (pizza, ravioli, gnocchi...etc.), empanadas and dulce de leche to name a few. I think you would love their food. Not only that, but you can take a tango dancing class, which I think would be funny to see. There is a really good TH-cam channel that really represents Argentinean food and it's called "Samuel and Audrey". They are a Canadian couple and they have gone to some of the best places in Argentina. If you watch some of their videos on Argentinean food, you will definitely want to eat it too. They are currently living there, and I thought it would be great if you guys got together. Well, that's my idea for you guys. I'm new to your channel and I think you guys are great.
