Expat is just a made up word for white people to distinguish themselves from other immigrants, if you work in a country that isn’t your home country, you’re an immigrant. It’s really not that difficult to grasp…
You can't appreciate French cuisine until you eat there. I've only been once and although I didn't eat a burger, I ate the blood sausage and snails. My folks were raised in Scotland, so blood in food is normal for me but they took it to a new level. The escargot was surprisingly excellent too.
@@alx5564 Just the English you dislike eh? 🤣 I went to Beziers and fell in love with it. The Pyrenees mountains are beautiful and in France they let us BASE jump from iconic bridges. They are much more relaxed about my sport.
For people wondering the Second burger the round white cheese is goat cheese. When they talk about duck "confit" it means duck slow cooked in duck fat. For people traveling and wanting to take a souvenir home, they make cans or jard of it too. The duck thighs are completly covered in fat. To eat it you pull it out of the jar, scrape the excess fat and reheat in a pan or the oven. "Magret" is not just duck beast, it is fat duck breast from the one that made foie gras. More fat and more flavors. Don't just stay in Paris, go visit the south west of france and visit a duck farm. Look arroun the Dordogne region. Another thing for duck eaters, is cured duck magret. About 8 to 12h in salt then rince and roll it in a fabric and set in the fridge for 3weeks to a month to dry. Damned that cut in thin slices is good.

Love the video as usual Sonny. It is always great to see a clash of cultures, and I gotta say when I think of fast rubbish food, with nothing special except volume, I think America. The opposite is true with French Food. That's exotic ingredients, quality grown and made with love - usually, and as you have accurately pointed out, like the Canard Burger. I feel that although the Smash was made with quality ingredients, it had too much America. As the Canard Chef pointed out, the French love salad and so do we in Australia, and there was nothing on the Smash Burger. I was expecting the duck burger to be dry as heck, but that looked guuuud. Definitively the one that made me salivate the most. Although I find myself wishing we had bluecheese burgers at McDonalds in Sweden, I love bluecheese on burgers, I do it myself all the time. When you eat blue cheese, you are eating handmade cheese with selected, healthy natural yeasts. Doesn't that remind you of anything? yes you do the same thing (when you drink a drink made with selected natural yeasts that are good for your health), when you drink your BEER! There are plenty of good microbes for health. In your belly, to help with digestion, there are already billions of them working for you every day... So no excuses. Be guilty. Eat what you want. 😉
The 1st duck burger is made with magret/fat duck breast, it's cooked ''rosé'' like ''saignant/bloody'' sort of ''Rare'', just the right way, not dry not hard meat, because of the cooking and the 50% fat on the breast. The second one is made with confit. It's duck leg slowly cooked in duck fat. Then pulled. Wish you could make/try these burgers at home. Nice combination of products. And i'm a retired Chef.

Although I have been to France, I love how Sonny takes us around the world, educational & fun, thank you for the upload. Greetings from an ex-pat in Cyprus. 😎😎👍👍
don't you mean immigrant? just because you're white doesn't mean you can invent new words for pre-existing stuff 🤣
@@omario7 No, I meant ex-pat!! Who says I am white??
Expat is just a made up word for white people to distinguish themselves from other immigrants, if you work in a country that isn’t your home country, you’re an immigrant. It’s really not that difficult to grasp…
You can't appreciate French cuisine until you eat there. I've only been once and although I didn't eat a burger, I ate the blood sausage and snails. My folks were raised in Scotland, so blood in food is normal for me but they took it to a new level. The escargot was surprisingly excellent too.
I'm planning on taking my family to France next year. We will probably gain 50lbs from all of the food we'll be trying! 🤣🤣🤣

Sonny--I'm watching this after two extra-tall Hamms, and now noshing on some Pizza Luce Artichoke Spinach Dip w/extra Foccacia. Yeah, I'm with you in spirit. Thanks for the post-shift wind-down entertainment!
You need to do a video on Scottish food. The McDonalds beef and cheese melt is amazing plus you have scotch pies, haggis, deep fried mars bars, we also have some really delicious burger places
That $120 burger looked hella delicious!!!
Lets be real, it didn't - You can't just throw expensive shit on top and raise the price, looked disgusting.
@@ItsFlipppp anything is better than a patty & tomato slice that McDonald's offers.

None of these burgers looked good tbh. America does it better.

Those duck burgers, I would try for sure mmmmm.😋😋😋
Thanks for doing this Sonny, really enjoyed this.

I think because of the saffron and cured meat and cheese it adds up. Still veery expensive

I would love to try the duck burgers. It’s looks so delicious. I had roasted duck, pegging duck, steamed duck, but never had a duck burger before. Thank you for sharing sonny. God bless you all.🙏🙏🙏❤️
That duck burger looks SO yummy 😋
The duck burger looked awesome. The last seemed to be to smashed, even with 2 patties was still too thin, with all those toppings. Another great video though as always. Thanks sonny and team.
agreed. i love smash burgers but the last burger definitely had way too flat of patties, especially for the price point. even before it was cooked it only looks around 4oz of meat, if even that
the last one was just a scammer without any knowledge and skills , France is litterally the country of high end expensive cuisine, Sonny could have met hundred's of chef to prepare a real worthy expensive high quality burger

Definitely the second one! I’m not a fan of smash. A burger need to have certain thickness to retain the juicyness. I also loved the fact that they slice it in have to show the perfect medium!

Smash burgers are the best as the technique used. If you want a thick burger then get a double Pattie smash burger

The cheese you liked is Saint-Nectaire cheese, from my hometown, a very small village in the middle of France, and yes, you are right, it is the best fromage in the world, cooked or not :)

Nothing can defeat the best Fast-food of Jollibee.
I'd definitely visit to try those out.
The day they made their "signature" burgers was the day I stopped going, they stopped being a cheap fast food, they are actualy the more expensive compared to Quick, BK, KFC...
For a Mc Do menu you can actually go to a real restaurant (bistro) that's insane :D
I never went back to a Mc do for years now and never regretted.
Okay, so who else had to go and grab some food from the fridge during this video? I broke after 8min lol
ahhh the good old Persil ... that's why it's french cuisine :D
I am totally gonna try making a duck burger next week, I am going to see how a white wine shallot sauce works with it with a little bit of jowl bacon.
What time shall I be there and what wine do I bring?

Those duck burgers looked insane. 😄😫
Why
Love the video as usual Sonny. It is always great to see a clash of cultures, and I gotta say when I think of fast rubbish food, with nothing special except volume, I think America. The opposite is true with French Food. That's exotic ingredients, quality grown and made with love - usually, and as you have accurately pointed out, like the Canard Burger. I feel that although the Smash was made with quality ingredients, it had too much America. As the Canard Chef pointed out, the French love salad and so do we in Australia, and there was nothing on the Smash Burger. The duck deserved the win for being French, exotic and tasty - and a reasonable price. Cheers mate, I continue to love the content.
'Exotic ingredients'
Yeah, that isn't French food at all. French concentrate on local ingredients primarily
@@sneer0101 true, maybe I should have said fresh and natural, locally sourced and grown - tho caviar, truffle and foie gras isn't that common place on my menu. 😉

The Charolois meat made the burger expensive, it's a special kind of cow, the white meat cows you often see in France.
kinda disappointing to see the ignorance in reviewing a food item he doesn't understand

I really enjoyed this episode. I will try the duck burger soon. Looks amazing.
the last burger looked awesome
I was expecting the duck burger to be dry as heck, but that looked guuuud. Definitively the one that made me salivate the most. Although I find myself wishing we had bluecheese burgers at McDonalds in Sweden, I love bluecheese on burgers, I do it myself all the time. Maybe I should be glad we don't have it actually, there's no need for me to find any more excuses to eat unhealthy food.
What's unhealthy about mold?! Just makes you stronger! 💪
When you eat blue cheese, you are eating handmade cheese with selected, healthy natural yeasts.
Doesn't that remind you of anything?
yes you do the same thing
(when you drink a drink made with selected natural yeasts that are good for your health),
when you drink your BEER!
@@LeLynx. Why are ppl assuming I meant Blue Cheese was unhealthy? I was talking about McDonalds burger being unhealthy, as having bluecheese on a McDonalds burgers would give me another excuse to eat McDonalds. I thought it was obvious.
@@TheOdMan Sorry, I probably read and translated you too quickly. (hello Swedish neighbor, I am French).
Indeed, as you said, there is much much better than Ronald's food. You might as well go eat elsewhere, or better, get your hands dirty and cook yourself, choosing your ingredients.
After being a long-term Traeger+ user, I decided to switch to Asmoke and I couldn't be happier. The precision control of the temperature is a game-changer, allowing me to cook burgers (even French ones!) to perfection every time. The variety of wood pellet flavors available adds an extra layer of taste to my food, making every meal a culinary masterpiece. The portability of Asmoke is another major plus.
