This is insane. This is so insanely cool. I feel like the Twitch FM22 save has gotta be with the updated version of the database next year, it'll be so so so cool.
Definitely going to give this a try but when I do, I'm renaming some of the leagues with more appropriate sponsors. Welcome to the "Manscaped Premier League", the "Nord VPN American Cup" and the "Raid: Shadow Legends Championship Northwest Division".
I downloaded this database and had a stupid happy grin on my face the entire time I was scrolling through the team lists, I'm so excited to get into this
This is "The American Dream" applied to footba.... soccer! Really awesome work in the database. Realistic with the teams and the Americanism of playoff and the teams present in every league. This needs to be known!
As an Aussie who avoids A-League saves because of the rules, I've avoided playing MLS for the same reason. I'm a big American sports fan too. As a (sad after this morning) Baltimore Ravens fan, I think I may jump on this as my final FM21 save. This database looks fantastic, well done to all involved.
@@XelaaEdits I saw one somewhere and I downloaded it, but it wasn't promotion to the A League or anything like that. And sadly, it didn't work anyways. Wanted to get the Ballarat Red Devils to the top league

I agree! what better way to showcase a database than on Twitch! Also makes for an awesome storyline to be invested in, like I have been in the OD save, to take a lower league murican team all the way to the top!! (especially if it's a college / uni team for added challenge)

Incredible work done by Reed!! Thank you to him and team Zealand giving us all a chance to play in one the most complicated league systems out there 😅🤣
This is such a great video because at the start... like just about everyone else I'm sure... I was thinking "why in the hell would anyone want to play this?" and by then end I had it downloaded. Well done Zealand. Hype master!
Great idea and a nice timing with Football Manager 2021 cycle coming to an end. I think I might have something to do in FM until 2022. Thank you for the work!
As someone who is familiar with the MLS draft system it’s similar to Aussie Rules, it just doesn’t work properly in FM. The ‘youngsters’ that get drafted are always 21 and therefore ancient by FM standards.
This is a brilliant database and basically what I search for every year without fail... I've still never played in the US though! Generic league names would've been absolutely fine, but the level of detail is fantastic! Couple of questions, though. This is very late in the FM21 lifecycle to get into such a detailed new game. Is this going to be maintained for future versions of FM? Secondly, are there any plans to keep building the project on a holistic level (e.g. FM'12 custom kits)? Finally, are derbies built into the database (particularly considering the huge level of customisation)?
This mod is amazing. It would be incredible if you merged the USA league and the Canadian Premier League into 1 big North American pyramid. Top division is MLS, second is Canadian Prem teams, and then it could go down like this, but including more Canadian teams as well. I was excited to see some Canadian teams because of the merged NHL/MLB teams, but more would be amazing.
Bro the inclusion of all American sports franchises as Sporting Clubs is a great idea. It seems real world practical cuz it likely wouldn't cost too much for them to create a cheap, lower league team. And the benefits of supporting a lower league team would increase significantly as the team gets more popular and wins more games. Imagine telling the billionaire owners of any of these franchises that "you could have a second billion dollar franchise, you just need to spend a couple hundred thousand a year." Also, it would cultivate interest in the sport. Diehard Yankees fans have an immediate rooting interest in lower league soccer. Smart shit. Now I want this to happen in real life,
Did you know that European clubs do this? Real Madrid, etc. have their own basketball, etc. teams. To be honest, I'm surprised that this hasn't happened in the US

Even after all the explaining, I can barely wrap my head around how it works, let alone what that must have been like to actually edit in the database. And you have so many teams... Hey all, I've been playing this database for a while, I'm about to get to my fifth season in my first save (started with FC Dallas because I prefer to develop talent and they focus on that heavily) and I would absolutely recommend. The roster rules can still be a bit tricky (not nearly as bad as MLS, but you mostly have to use non-Mexican North American players due to a cap on foreign players) but they really allow you to do a lot of what you'd do in other leagues. Within two seasons in my save, the MLP surpassed the talent level of Ligue 1 as a whole (!!!) and it is steadily climbing its way through the ranks of what US soccer could be. The cups are really fun (though I've only ever gotten a favorable draw in the round of 64 by some curse of luck) and the playoffs ensure that, even if a team is dominant in regular season, they aren't guaranteed the trophy, though three games total is a lot easier to get through than potentially 7 games like MLS has currently. I did something similar once back in FM15/16 in Mexico, but not as much depth as this one. Sounds like an amazing project to develop, and to play with. Definetly Will be testing this one with the Seattle Mariners Football Club.
Posting this in case someone else encounters a similar issue. In the "advanced setup" stage, I was unable to select the United States. It said there are too few teams at each level. Went back and made sure it was the only mod selected. One of the other databases I had downloaded kept turning itself on in that menu.

My favourite thing about football is that it provides an opportunity for cultural education and broadened global awareness. The fact that Zealand gets what's so funny about the combination of giant hamburgers, enormous novelty styrofoam pointing fingers, pyrotechnics, cheerleaders and F-16s performing a halftime airshow is kinda heartwarming.
When you listen to Zealand talk about football almost everyday and you forget he's from the USA and then comes this intro and you're like "he's American, alright"
If you ever wanted to play in the MLS but thought it would be too complicated. Here is a File which makes everything even more complicated. Seriously though. I love it
Great idea. The only issue (and it's only a real life/realism issue) is that a winter schedule puts their games head to head against the NFL and college football (NBA too, to a lesser extent. No one cares about the NHL 😜). As any American knows, that's a death wish. Even with the backing of the sports leagues. Just ask the WNBA. But I totally understand it as a concession to gameplay. Do you have traditional connections though? For example, would the Boston Red Sox team have Liverpool as a senior affiliate (due to common ownership)? Or the Inglewood team with Arsenal. Or the Tampa Bay team with Man United? IMG Academy would be highly sought after as an affiliate for big European sides. The whole project sounds awesome though. I just started a 'little brother challenge' save with Paris FC so now I'll have to find time for yet another challenge!
Is there a place to submit any bug reports? XF Redmond in the Cascadia Championship and Washington SC of Cascadia League 1 are the same organization in real life. They have just operated under different names.

I may be the exception, but what would make me want to play FM in the USA is its bizarre structure and rules. If I wanted to play a giant conventional pyramid structure, I would play in England. Anyways, great work!
Would be awesome to see a set up for an all Ireland 🇮🇪 structure database with Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to a realistic joint league! Great video
Well, I'm def gonna download it, It'll be fun to take the Riverhounds to the top and win all the silverware and finally win the CONCACAF Champions League with a USA team. Honestly guys, I'm pretty sure that system would "fix" US Soccer sparking more interest in the sport thus leading to more success
I downloaded the mod and installed it. I'm from the Pittsburgh and had hoped to use the Riverhounds also. I'm curious if and how your game went. I'm new to the FM game and not sure how to improve without spending budget.
Cool format! I would tweak it though so bottom half of the league compete for 1/2 playoff spots, maybe done as a wildcard extra round thing, and the top half only has 6/7 spots. Gives midtable teams something to play for when they're clear of relegation in the second half of the season. I'd also do more playoffs for promotion rather than direct promotion- maybe 1/2 get directly relegated but the other 2/3 playoff with their corresponding team/join the lower league's playoff promotion tournament. That seems more American style to me
Yes it will be maintained for FM22

Goddamnit Zealand. I did not need fm21 for nearly it's whole lifespan. Now I want it.
Would be awesome to see a set up for an all Ireland 🇮🇪 structure database with Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to a realistic joint league! Great video
This looks like really really good fun.
That seems more American style to me
This is some evil genius level thinking!
