We lobbied the AFC to be part of the confederation as beating tonga 38-0 was not beneficial. It also made Asian confed stronger and allowed a guaranteed additional place in the WC. Made sense for us

Just the way FM does scouting regions, keeping Australia in South East Asia like it's in the Asian confederation, but Israel being in the Middle East despite being in UEFA and Suriname/Guyana being in East South America despite being in Concacaf
That might also be a political/cultural thing. Even though Israel is part of UEFA theyre often considered part of the middle east in most instances, not being an EU member state, whereas Australia is in that weird place where its sometimes Asia, sometimes Oceania. For example being a part of ASEAN

As a Zimbabwean I keep all Zimbabwean players loaded, meaning I have to sift through 180-200 Zimbabwean regens a season to find like 3 with championship potential, and maybe 2 potential premier league talent every 5 years. If I'm lucky I'll get the once in aa decade potential world class prospect. North and West Africa are borderline cheat codes. Al Ahly, Asante Kotoko, Engubu Rangers, Assec Mimmosa and Zamalek are on par with Partizan and Zagreb at producing talent (OO not exactly but their cheaper so..)

Australia was in Oceania but we got so sick of having to qualify through a play off (all down to two games) against teams like Uruguay or Iran that the powers that be moved us into Asia. We would have made it to the finals more often pre 2006. Thanks for the video!
I'm a Vietnamese player, I tried scouting Southeast Asia because I know that region in the game And surprisingly, when I scouted my national team, I actually found a shining gem among the coals, a 17 year old Vietnamese wdk with 5* 175 PA. Holy hell, It took me just £ 10k to sign him, loan him a season in Spain and come back to my club, become the most important player for the national team and the club.
Vietnam and Thailand are the teams that was so powerful in the game fm20 supachock, muenta and other thai wonder kids always get an automatic transfer to jleague then get poach by mid table teams in top 5 leagues in europe on my save and vietnam always has a world class regen that end up playing in japan if you load jleague in fm20
central america is severely underrated, especially if you're a second tier team. can't count the amount of times a random costa rican or honduran has gone on to be my best player
Just so you know there are 6 countries aside from Russia that count as Homegrown in the Russian league, and while Belarus, Kazakhstan and even Kyrgyzstan are included, Uzbekistan sadly is not, so the Uzbek wonderkids count towards you limit of 8 total foreign players. It's frustrating!

Mexico is great. You can find a world class youngsters from Mexico almost every season. The problem is they become quite expensive fast. If you don't get them when they are 16-17 they cost around 20+M. Or even worse if it in the top Mexican teams.

I have won many trophies and cleaned up the cup of nations and CHAN with SA players. I love them. Shame the work permit restrictions don't allow more to come to the UK
I won the Europa League with Partisan Belgrade thanks to three south african wonderkids of a Club called sundowners or something like that, always find good guys there while no one from the usual powerhouses like Nigeria pops up😂

South Africa is actually ridiculous on fm20. Ive poached like 30 South African regens for auxerre, Khanyisile Mgwigwi and Nicholas Ramonyai are both 4.5* strikers in ligue 1. Almost everyone has a 1.3 mil release clause as well.
My Indian wonder kid goalie kept 21 clean sheets in his first pl season at Norwich, and psg bought out his 266 mil release clause the next year aged 17. India can be decent if you look hard enough ....
I manage Italian League and the only place I scout outside Central Europe is Eastern Europe, really cannot sign any South Americans despite the fact that 8 Argentines out of 10 should possess an Italian passport
Feel like I as often as I find a Colombian wonderkid, find one in South Africa. Often there is a 17 year old playing for Orlando Pirates or Kazer chiefs with caps for the national team. Often they are amazing talents. In fm 19 I found a fullback who became the best in the world for my Boston United team in fm 20 I found a CD for my Wisla Krakow team who I sold to Man City for a nice profit. He even came out as gay. Also Peter Odemwingie are born in Uzbekistan. Just wanted to put that out there.

It's always worth to check the Russian Club Krasnodar's youth team. Always have a wonderkid every season. Other teams worth to be checked too, the usual Russian powerhouses.

If you are a mid-size or smaller team then South Africa has some great bargains. I signed some great players on great bargains for teams like Saint-Etienne, Hibs, Sunderland, Partizan Belgrade etc... If you are an elite team you wont find much but mid-size and smaller teams is great
I have not played the newer games but in 2015 it was argentina most definitely, Brazilians sold the same guy for 25 m, eurepeans sold for 50-60 m , while Argentinians sold him for 5m

I have a scout with 20 adaptability who has been assigned to scout hot prospects in Scandinavia, he’s had that assignment for over 2 years now, and his knowledge of those countries is still close to nothing. He occasionally shows a little bit of knowledge, then it drops back to nothing. Then climbs a bit again. He’s found no players in his time there. What is going on?
@@shyguy1845 he has 9 discipline and 15 determination. Just never really starts scouting the assigned territory it seems like. I have multiple scouts with this same issue. Probably 4 of them that just don’t do anything
OK Mr Zealand do you know if it is possible for smaller micro nations like Fiji or Micronesia to produce a player of the Zidane/Ibrahimovic level or is it in game literally impossible because the countries youth rating prohibits it? I know in real life it is unlikely but it is only unlikely, so I always scour Oceania hoping to find Islander Messi.
According to my knowledge youth ratings of any country defines the probability of good young talented player will be produced. The higher the youth ratings, the higher the probability will be to produce good players. Country like Fiji have low youth ratings but that doesn't means all the young players which produced in that country will be terrible. Good players will also be produced with their probability is very very less as youth ratings are low compare to the country like Brazil and Germany. So, at the end of the day the choice is yours. It's worth to do some experiments as I have never scouted over there to be honest. Hopefully you will get some cheap wonderkids :D
Cool video. Question: Is it bad to scout continents instead of regions ? If you scout a whole continent, you scout the relevant nations + you can find a wonderkid in nations which don't have as high of a youth rating ?
If you scout a whole continent your scout will have a much bigger job and might struggle to find more players because he is having to scout more countries. For example, scouting South America instead of South America East will mean he puts too much effort into scouting Bolivia and Peru instead of Colombia and Brazil.
I use an addon that makes it more dynamic than the vanilla. It is still similar but more spread out and less ''You get a messi every year from Brazil''
Remember the times in fm, when you could be a club no matter where, fill your squad with Brazilians and win everything, including “Champions League”… that was nuts. Since then I’ve made a rule for myself, “no more than 3”.
I think they fixed it by making the Brazilians have bad personalities. They create cliques and shittalk their manager too much in my saves. I just buy them, loan them around and sell them for 60M once their contract is near to its end.
True PA is impossible to predict. You are aiming for a range. It only works if your team is already strong. Otherwise you might have a 90-100 rated team in a 3rd division somewhere and good fn luck gauging true potential when some wunderkids will start with 70 CA with extremely unassuming attributes but when you look under the hood they turn out to be 140-160. Again like i said. Good fn luck estimating without an already strong first team.

If you are a mid-size or smaller team then South Africa has some great bargains. I signed some great players on great bargains for teams like Saint-Etienne, Hibs, Sunderland, Partizan Belgrade etc... If you are an elite team you wont find much but mid-size and smaller teams is great
Also, Croatia and Serbia are by far the best countries to scout IMHO. Cheap players and constantly producing top talent

I have a scout with 20 adaptability who has been assigned to scout hot prospects in Scandinavia, he’s had that assignment for over 2 years now, and his knowledge of those countries is still close to nothing. He occasionally shows a little bit of knowledge, then it drops back to nothing. Then climbs a bit again. He’s found no players in his time there. What is going on?
Determination? Or maybe level of discipline is rediculously low, it could also just be a bug, try reassigning him.
@@shyguy1845 he has 9 discipline and 15 determination. Just never really starts scouting the assigned territory it seems like. I have multiple scouts with this same issue. Probably 4 of them that just don’t do anything
OK Mr Zealand do you know if it is possible for smaller micro nations like Fiji or Micronesia to produce a player of the Zidane/Ibrahimovic level or is it in game literally impossible because the countries youth rating prohibits it?
I know in real life it is unlikely but it is only unlikely, so I always scour Oceania hoping to find Islander Messi.
According to my knowledge youth ratings of any country defines the probability of good young talented player will be produced. The higher the youth ratings, the higher the probability will be to produce good players. Country like Fiji have low youth ratings but that doesn't means all the young players which produced in that country will be terrible. Good players will also be produced with their probability is very very less as youth ratings are low compare to the country like Brazil and Germany. So, at the end of the day the choice is yours. It's worth to do some experiments as I have never scouted over there to be honest. Hopefully you will get some cheap wonderkids :D

Question: Is it bad to scout continents instead of regions ? If you scout a whole continent, you scout the relevant nations + you can find a wonderkid in nations which don't have as high of a youth rating ?
If you scout a whole continent your scout will have a much bigger job and might struggle to find more players because he is having to scout more countries. For example, scouting South America instead of South America East will mean he puts too much effort into scouting Bolivia and Peru instead of Colombia and Brazil.

Remember the times in fm, when you could be a club no matter where, fill your squad with Brazilians and win everything, including “Champions League”… that was nuts. Since then I’ve made a rule for myself, “no more than 3”.
I think they fixed it by making the Brazilians have bad personalities. They create cliques and shittalk their manager too much in my saves. I just buy them, loan them around and sell them for 60M once their contract is near to its end.

True PA is impossible to predict. You are aiming for a range. It only works if your team is already strong. Otherwise you might have a 90-100 rated team in a 3rd division somewhere and good fn luck gauging true potential when some wunderkids will start with 70 CA with extremely unassuming attributes but when you look under the hood they turn out to be 140-160. Again like i said. Good fn luck estimating without an already strong first team.

ive just upgraded to the world scouting package but its only letting me assign scouts to european regions, how do i set up an assignment in South America for example? is it to do with my scouting knowledge?
