  • In this video we take a walkaround tour of the 2022 Chevy Malibu Premier 2.0T sedan in the Summit White exterior with the Jet Black leather interior. The Malibu has been around since 2016 in it's current generation but received a minor refresh for the 2019MY. With Chevy abandoning all cars in their lineup, I believe the Malibu will be gone in the next 1-2 years with a transition to EV's and SUV's. Let me know what you think of the final year of 2.0T Malibu's in the comments below!

    Thorough and accurate review; nice job!! If Chevrolet marketed this vehicle properly they would sell 150,000+ units easily. Too bad, and bad management move. A lot of people have zero interest in ever buying an electric vehicle. The 2.0 engine makes this car a rocket. Same engine that is standard equipment in at least four Cadillac models that are a lot heavier than the Malibu.

    I purchased this "last of the Mohicans" even though the 2023 models were already available.
    The reason? ... the 2.0T engine, 9 speed transmission and features (fully loaded with all options). I commute 90% freeway, a lot of stop and go in the afternoon and still get consistent 35mpg. The car is a "rocket" ... cutting into traffic and passing is a breeze. Quiet, stable, fast and very responsive. I used to have a Passat before but this Premier takes the cake. Too bad GM discontinued this trim ...

      Like that you mentioned the mpg plus I really like the rocket part as I have my eye on this model for making some road trips. Hard to find a Premiere

    Bought a 2022 Premier in November that's equipped almost exactly like this one. I didn't get the black bowties or the factory spoiler. It's been a great car so far, other than coming from factory with a bad gauge cluster. Happy with my purchase.

      Awesome to hear! That seems odd about the gauge cluster but luckily that is what warranties are for.

    Leave it to GM to ruin a good thing. The Premier made the Malibu much more desirable than the lesser 1.5T versions which is the only engine for 2023. That means a whopping 90 HP drop and the loss of the 9 speed automatic. For over 35K this should have included a spare tire and some of the advanced safety features including radar cruise control.

    Gosh, this is a nice sedan. I had a base model as a rental once and really liked it. It's a great highway cruiser. I would prefer this over a Kia or Hyundai any day.

I bet you still think all Fords come equipped with exploding gas tanks as completely uninformed you are.
      Maybe do a little research before you open your mouth, you just sound bigoted and stupid when you talk about things you don't understand. Your information is out of date. • @wolfshanze5980
      @wolfshanze5980 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not an expert opinion, but my educated guess (and it has some experience behind it) is NO. Basically when you order, you're waiting on new production to put-out the car/trim combination you're looking for to get allocated to the dealer. 2022 Malibu's are no-longer in production. I ordered a 2022 Tucson last summer, and midway through waiting for my 2022 order (placed in the middle of 2022), the 2023 models came out, no more 2022's were being made, and my 2022 Tucson order ended up being filled by a 2023 Tucson. Maybe Chevy is different and/or with some backlog of 2022 Malibu's, maybe... but to be honest, orders are generally allocated to new production, not seek and find... but maybe i'm wrong, but my final answer would be "no".

      No you cannot because the 2022 model is no longer in production. Manufacturers typically show the current and prior years on their websites. If you are interested, we still have a couple 2022 Premier's.

      @@mumbaikarinla7488 Boils down to "seeing a car available for purchase on a lot" vs "ordering a new one per your specifications".
      Back to my original reply, if you're ordering something, it's going to be new production to fill it, which in this case would be a 2023 model since 2022's are no-longer in production.
      As for "why does Chevy still list 2022's on the website"... I'd say that's because 2022's are still sitting on lots here and there, so customers may want info on what's on the lot (features, specs, etc). It's not really meant for "yes let me order last year's model".
      At the end of the day, ignore me and what I say, if you're dead-set on a 2022 model, you need to move fast... go to a dealership and ask around. Every day that passes into 2023, 2022's will just be rarer and harder to find new, and to get a "used" 2022 in 2023, that usually spells "REPO".
