It's great you do real time. I can't tell how many times I drop a tool while working on anything. It's cool that you check in throughout the video, that let's us know it's difficult sequence. You cover the details that are easy to miss or that can make you're life difficult if they're missed. I want to add something my uncles taught( no father figure in my life), righty tighty, lefty loosey.
Great video. I did make the mistake of removing the high beam on the driver side after replacing the passenger side and not knowing why the bulb would not go in. It wasn’t until I talked to the parts store and they mentioned that the high beam had the wider plug I realized I must have removed the wrong cap. Once I looked inside I could see how the low beam bulb was tucked further in against the car. For those of you reading the comments make sure you don’t remove the high beam cap. 😂 The video was simple and thorough.
That's so interesting that you bring up accidentally pulling out the high beam. Many others have asked about the highbeam bulb, i.e. how to replace, the bulb size, etc. I'm more familiar with Lexus and on those vehicles, there is always a separate cap that is the same size as the low beam. When I made this video, I only saw one cap (for low-beam), and all the sites I checked said this car uses 1 bulb for both high beam and low beam (I've never worked on something like this before). This isn't my car so I never got a chance to look at it again to do a follow-up, but after reading your comment I'm even more confused. When my friend brings the car back from Florida during a school break I'll definitely have to open it up to investigate further and try to find it. I appreciate the comment and I'm glad the video was able to help you! I'm sure your comment will go on to help many others as well. Thank you!

Great vid. Your very clear on direction! A tip to think of. If you remove the air intake hose off the housing you dont need to remove the filter. You can remove the whole air cleaner housing in one piece due to the 3 pop out grommets, and then flip the whole housing over.
Yes that's a very good idea! A few other people mentioned that in the comments as well. I just never thought of doing it that way when I first attempted this. Thank you for the kind words! Wish you and your Malibu the best!
Thanks brother for the tutorial. I was just thinking about switching my headlights. The ones that come with the Malibu are dull so I wanted to get bulbs a lot brighter.
Mechanic told me 200$ and dealer said $350 because you “have to take the whole front end off” . Yea that was a bunch of scam bs . Got bulb for $5 took me less than 15 mins to get done. Thank you for saving me some money and time and hassle bro 🏆

Really thorough process and explanation. Good job. Was thinking of swapping my halogens for LEDs, Is there anything I need to take into consideration in terms of type of bulbs, bulb voltage/size, warranty getting voided as they would not be original parts?
Not really. New bulbs shouldn’t void any warranty. Just order some bulbs following the directions I put in the description. The size of bulb changes depending on the model year of your car. Goodluck with everything! 🙌🏾
Hey so I saw another video showing how to insert led bulbs. On the left side, the guy only too off hose and then he just pulled the whole unit up without unscrewing bolts. Just a heads up for next video.

The LED lights blink every time I stop and the auto-stop kicks in, it makes it look like I am flashing the lights. Is there anything to fix that problem? Thank you in advance.

Is there a tool that one can use the grasp and turn the socket that holds the headlight ?
Not being mean, but this is actually the easiest bulb change I have ever done. Look into what’s involved with some German brands like Mercedes. It will make you die inside haha
