    I realize I'm probably late to the party on these but I just found a Cubeamajig alternative that seem to have good reviews! Burger Tokens have a very similar product that is MUCH easier to spell. Check them out here: burgertokens.com/products/perfect-fit-deckboxes

    A change that I did is I took the basic lands out of all the packs and sleeved them separately. Then when you pick your packs you just grab some land. This saves many many many sleeves on basic lands.

    Great video man! A+
    Although I did my jumpstart cube set up little different.
    PirateLab Large Card Game Blue/Black Case - $74.99
    GameGenic Card Protection Prime Sleeves - Black (100) - $6.00 to $ 7.00
    Burgertokens 25 Perfect Fit Deckboxes (22 sleeve size) - $20.00
    Personally I like the burgertokens deck boxes over the cubamji deck boxes because their just easier to load and unload decks in. Their also much cheaper than cubamji overall cost.

    Great video! I made one when Jumpstart came out and I love it. My buddies and I generally don’t want to devote a lot of time to sealed and draft deck building when we are hanging out, and competitive just isn’t something we are interested in anymore. Jumpstart is the perfect solution as you can just grab a few packs, shuffle them up and play.
    I just recently discovered the subreddit and al the cool custom packs people are doing. I’m going to have to make a few myself.

    I just sleeved the cards, put the packs into the larger clear singles bags my lgs sells their singles in and just stand it all in an empty jumpstart booster box on my counter. I like that you can see the deck themes and it is cheeaaap! Im a very budget player so buying extra stuff comes out of the card budget so... Im currently making a pauper battlebox now too, with a kid and busy schedule this is a great way to actuaply play with someone when you dont have time for commander nights etc.

    I made a JS cube as well and here's my take:
    I used the Dungeon you showed and I love it.
    I wanted to balance the packs as best I could, because most the common packs can't really compete with the mythic or rare packs, so I went through each of the decklists for each one and combined them to make one bis pack. In a nutshell, there are a number of cards that are consistent among all variations of a pack so those stay the same, but then I analyzed which cards swap out and picked the best ones for my own variation.
    I bought a bunch of tokens for the packs I used but I should've gone with infinitokens for sure. Much better choice.
    Very happy with what I created and the first pack I removed with JS 2022 was Rainbow. That pack is almost unplayable.

      @@beyondthedeckbox What I’ll be doing is collecting all 46 themes (if I pull variations of the same theme I’ll just pick the one I like best)
      Double Sleeveing all the cards with clear matte DragonShields to be able to see the backs of the cards (it’s not tournament play and me and my friends don’t care)
      Using Ultra Pro Poly Team Bags as “booster packs” since they are really cheap and come in bulk
      And storing it all in the GameGenic Dungeon (the large size will allow for extra space for all the needed tokens)

    Man, great video! I’m a lapsed MTG player who was excited for MTG-SmashUp when it first came out but was surprised/not surprised at all that Wizards didn’t put any effort into helping the breaking apart of the packs after you play. I mean, as long as you mix colors, you can mostly figure it out, but it was clear they just wanted you to play with half decks for a night and then just have more cards in your collection.
    Anyways, fast forward to this past summer and I came up with an absolute mad scientist way of finally making my infinitely replayable Jumpstart set a reality, and now I’ve got 52 themes’ worth of half deck goodness. Gonna put out a video after my December content break (band director here, and life is crazy), but I was thrilled and surprised to randomly find yours! I don’t m kw if I’ve been searching poorly but I’ve found JS videos few and far between.
    Anyways, new sub and happy viewer, have a great day!

    I just grabbed a fatpack and put 10 jumpstart half decks in. 2 of each color (except for blue, that's paired with the multi color one). There's a deckbox filling in the space that's left over and it has some leftover red jumpstart half decks inside, because I pulled more red than others. It's a lot of fun to bring to the table.

    Just got into MtG, and I did so through Jumpstart because I’ve always loved the concept of Battle Boxes. Next thing I know I’m cracking open two boxes of each Jumpstart and Jumpstart 2022, sleeving them up and storing them in Arkhives and Dungeons. I also double-sleeved them because I’m a freak so that means I saved money on Cubemajigs lol. Really can’t stress enough how much I love the product.

    New to magic. I came in kind of as a Lord of the rings fan, and I was kind of blown that there isn't exactly a great way to make competitive decks that are purely from the Lord of the rings set, but then I discovered jumpstart packs. so I'm making a whole box with every Lord of the rings jumpstart theme plus a few others to mix it up and have fun.

    • @beyondthedeckbox
      @beyondthedeckbox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just do it at the end of the night when I get the decks back. Most of the time the packs are different colors (Dinosaurs and Phyrexian, Teferi and Soldiers, etc.) so those are easy. I just let anyone know if they happen to pull two of the same color, to let me know so I can see what the packs were, which land goes where, etc. Then at the end of the night I just separate them out. It's a little extra work but it doesn't take too long. I know some folks who use different color sleeves, but some people don't like that option. Hope that helps!

    • @beyondthedeckbox
      @beyondthedeckbox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's fairly easy to break them back up into their individual packs even if they are the same color. If I ever have trouble I just hop onto the decklist site for the packs to make sure. But I've only had to do that once since I've been using this battle box.

    • @B__C__
      @B__C__ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An option I've been using is to include a relatively large mailing sticker with a list of the pack's cards printed out on each (usually just copied and pasted from the online pack lists) and stuck to the box. On some boxes (the Cube Shells by Dragon Shield at least) you can stick it to the inside of the flap.

    I have a battle box or cube of Jump Sart 22. I used the newer revamp of the dragon shield boxes. Currently it's made up of a single booster box of the 2022 jumpstart, and I house them in the confines of 2 bundle boxes. I tried some cheap penny sleeve, and they ended up very bad, so one of my play group helped me out and we got them re-sleaved in gamegenic sleeves....much better. I intend to add more packs, but have been milling over how to store the packs. The dragon shield card boxes have a little bit more width to them so they won't fit inside standard deck boxes.

      @@beyondthedeckbox the biggest issue I have at the moment is figuring out an easy way to get the jumpstart cards broken back down to the component theme packs after we play a couple rounds, especially if it's a larger group playing. Inevitably, it turns into a big mix up and somebody has to check the pack lists and resort a large portion of the cube, which takes out a little bit of the appeal and simplicity for cracking into the jump start as a battle box/cube. Thanks for the advice on the individual theme pack storage solutions.

    • @beyondthedeckbox
      @beyondthedeckbox  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's really easy when the two packs are different colors. When I run into a situation where the packs are each the same color, I just find the deck list and sort them out. Takes me less than 5 minutes every time I do a Jumpstart night. (Gloomhaven is a MUCH harder clean up.)

      It's actually quite simple. In most cases the colors are two different kind so that's straightforward. In the event that you have two packs of the same color, then you can look up the deck lists, or have the lists handy nearby to put them back together. Putting these back together, even after a long night of playing and multiple decks, has never taken me longer than 5 minutes. Thanks for watching!

    My idea is using all the hybrid PWs from war of the spark to make packs around. Some of their themes are easier to design then other. Also I'm using MSE to design some cards that would be more like "signature" spells for each PW. Like how the PWs in M21 have some.

    • @beyondthedeckbox
      @beyondthedeckbox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome! I had originally set out to build one with all 121 but when I realized that I could only fit 40-43 in the Arkhive 800+ I figured I would stop there for now and might revisit in the future.
      If you're looking for a something for all cards in one place, you could go with a BCW 5 Row Cardboard Storage Box. This would work great and I'm pretty sure they would fit all the cards even with the cubeamajigs but you would have to check that. You could go full custom and get a special made box but that is expensive and I realize it's not an option for everyone. A solution from outside of TCG specific storage are those hardware storage bins from DeWalt or Craftsman. I'm pretty sure those would fit all of the cards. You would want to figure out how you would want to organize them in there though. Since they are not TCG specific you would need to DIY the interior a bit to keep the cards safe. Or you could just stick them in cubeamajigs and toss them in there and call it good. It's up to you.
      I put the links about the items I was talking about below. I hope that helps you with some ideas!

U can also include other sets like a core set(s).
