I never played these games so I went in without knowing anything. I'm currently 40hrs in and I am really liking what it has to offer. Hard to believe a game from 2007 was so far ahead of it's time.
It gets even better when you get into ME2 and ME3. Man I put so many hours into the trilogy back then. The trilogy was ahead of its time when I look back on it.The industry has changed over the years since then. The last game to give me that europhic feeling was The Witcher 3 and The Last Of Us but in a different way.
I just played the Bring Down The Sky dlc for the first time and man I really really enjoyed it especially with how it tied to my war hero background. It’s a god send that all the DLC was included here because I never played an inch of any of it just the main game and side missions.
Man I’m 30 and missed this trilogy in part because the first came out in high school when I was hyper focused on sports and going to college for them…never had a games story or dialogue had me so intrigued. Never had a game make me just set my controller down when a cutscene happens so I can soak in every second of talking. What a fucking game. Just started two and the jump in quality is staggering. Cannot wait to soak this shit in like an old glass of liquor

@@chaost4544 I'm cautiously optimistic that ME4 will be worth the hype, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turns into another Andromeda. However, if it has Garrus, and Tali in it, it would already be twice as good as Andromeda by default, unless they fuck up their characters.
And the beginning of EA butchering games for the sake of an early release. ME3 needed 2 more years development. Instead Bioware had to reuse the multiplayer maps for singleplayer missions, reduced the promised multiple endings to 2 colours, dropped various plotlines from earlier games (eg. dark energy) and had massive crunch in creating a rushed ending. It still worked out pretty good but it could have been so much more.
I’m so jealous. I wish I could experience it for the first time again. The conversation with Sovereign on Virmire blew my mind in the first game! Legendary edition is my fourth play thru of the trilogy!

Looking forward to it! I don't know how this game missed my radar. It's the genre I like the most (Sci Fi / RPG). After seeing lots of reviews and reading all of these comments, it's got me hyped up. I haven't seen anyone say anything negative about this series.

In 2007 nobody gave a crap about the performance... Everybody just enjoyed the story, gameplay, characters, quests, lore, mood... and other small things like that.
Kind of sad, isn't it? I was thinking the same thing a few days ago. Anthem was an absolute train-wreck that they have now abandoned and Mass Effect: Andromeda was a piece of garbage that got Bioware Montreal melted down into spare parts for EA Motive. The last true success, critically and commercially, that Bioware had was Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2014... and even that game had significant pacing issues and myriad technical problems (not to mention the hell-crunch to churn out that "BIOWARE MAGIC"). Quite a long dry spell, and for the first true success since then to be a remastering of a decade old game trilogy designed by a team that has long since left Bioware... not great signs.

@@fkaiba94 at it's core it's definitely a 14 year old game mechanically, looks amazing with enough quality of life improvements that help a lot. For me it's the story and characters that really work.

To say the least, this is one of my favorite creations of all time. My dog's name is Shepard. People at university always called me Commander because I rocked my N7 shoes every day and my N7 leather jacket during the winter, N7 messenger bag for my stuff, and I've always used Kelly's "You've received a new message at your private terminal" as my text ringer. I just recently had a daughter, and her name is Tali :D it's the best
As a newcomer to the series I was really looking forward to this remaster. 60hrs in and I'm in love with the series. The 1st made the biggest impression on me so far, kinda like how the first Halo did when I was a kid.
This is my first time playing mass effect. The only issue I have had with the first game that I’m playing so far is the stuttering frame rate when driving in the mako. They did a great job. And the game is absolutely fantastic. I’m already about 30 hours through my first play through of the first game and I’ve been doing every side quest I can possibly do. I haven’t had this fun with a role playing game since kotor 1 and 2
I think everyone hates the Mako and most people were glad it didn't appear in the following games. The idea of the Mako was sound but it was one of the few things in the series that wasn't executed well. I'm glad I'm seeing more new players to the series and is a great example of what a remaster should do. There's going to be more interest than ever when Mass Effect 4 gets into late stages of development.
That game is so dated it'd need an entire remake, though seeing how well this has done I could see it possibly happening, after all it's a lot easier to remake one game than 3.
You know there's interesting interview about casey Hudson like 10 years ago explaining how importing your choices over the courses 3 games is extremely hard and might not be done again and now decade later he was right just shows how much love and care went into these games!
Currently like 34 hours into the first one again.. so nostalgic I have played these 3 games like 5 times each and it feels so refreshing to play it again after so long
I'm so glad Bioware remastered and touched up this series. I just wish they'd added more voice options. The voice just doesn't go with my character. Yes, my character is dark-skinned and you know what I'm saying.

I just bought the remaster and I've replayed all me games except Andromeda at least twice and this game after playing a lot of modern games feels waaaay ahead of it's time I love this game so much
The most emotional moment for me in mass effect 1 was when commander Shepard was promoted to “Spectre” status.It was a touching scene to finally see a human given that honor.I also love the mass relay jump scenes.I think mass effect 2 has the best one.The mass effect series was incredible and still is.it’s way ahead of its time even by today’s standards.no other game has eclipsed it yet.Amazing story telling has captured everyone’s heart including mines forever eternally.I remember back in 2007 in mass effect 1,data pads were a common thing in the game’s story then 2 years later the iPad tablet was released.perhaps one day humanity might be able to develop a mass relay,what would take earth years to reach a planet will take only minutes.Humans are the best of all creations because no other living being can think up all this stuff like we do.

I’m actually incredibly grateful that, for as much as I’ve always remembered LOVING ME1 waaay back when it first came out (I believe I was in like 9th grade at the time) I SOMEHOW never actually got around to so much as getting a copy or touching 2&3!!! Even when I heard how good they were! No real reason. I just never found the time! And now here I am… nearing ‼️17 YEARS LATER‼️ I obtained the Legendary Edition for a beautiful 7 bucks on my PS5 and 4K tv. I’m just barely done with the first visit to the Citadel in ME1 overcome with nostalgic joy and even more so, relentless anticipation for 2&3. These games are so incredibly special man…
Really surprised that when discussing the combat changes in ME1 you didn't mention anything about the drastic rework of all of the weapons in the game, making certain weapons now act as semi-auto or burst fire to add in new combat options.
I missed this series somehow back in the day and never got around to playing it because I didn't have the older consoles anymore so I just sadly wrote it off that I'll never get to play it (same with Dead Space) Then this was released and I was stoked to try it out and I can say it has been AMAZING
This game has the best lore I've ever seen. Everything is so interesting to read, and the aliens are really interesting as well. In fact the only human characters that I find as interesting as the aliens would be Jack and Miranda. I love how all the aliens have a dark past. Quarians with the Geth. Salarians, and Turians with the Genophage. It makes them seem human somehow. And learning about the Quarian lifestyle is mind blowing.
Just as Cerberus resurrect Sheppard to save the world and ultimately themself, Bioware resurrect Mass Effect to save their legacy. edit : I hope they remake KOTOR next.
One can hope, but just remember the people who made KOTOR and Jade Empire are no longer with Bioware, meaning we'll be getting the same writers that made Andromeda... 😔
Thank you EA for releasing the ME remaster, for me, the person who missed this saga on PS3 at one time, is just a gift. The first part is already behind and now I am fiercely high on the second.
Mass Effect is one of those few trilogy games that are exceptionally well made. I've played each and every game atleast 5 times and I just keep coming back for more. I remember waiting in line at my local game store to buy mass effect 3 back in 2012. It was just and amazing experience to play such a brilliant trilogy in my teen years. People gave andromeda a lot of flack too, but I got to finally play it last year...and I like it too. It just enhances the plot a lot more from another characters perspective in a different time and place. I really hope that me5 actually gets green lit. One of the most influential RPG game series in my life.
Say what? The first ME before it came out was extremely hyped up and after release it was highly praised. Played it first day on release. I think people these days use the word "underrated" a little too loosely.
I'm about 2 thirds through the first game and loveit just like I did 14 years ago. The graphics are massively improved as is combat (though still not as good as 2 and 3) can't wait to experience all the Dlc on those two games which I didn't get back then
Honestly, I was really afraid that a lot of newcomers would hate the game, but I'm so glad that a lot of people are enjoying it. I myself am replaying the trilogy right now, and if people can get past the Mako, which is probably the only part that I legit dislike about the entire series, then they will be able to enjoy the entire trilogy.

I don't how far you are into the trilogy, but I sincerely hope that you continue to love it. Its got some of the best lore in gaming in my opinion. All the aliens have distinct histories and backgrounds that make them feel real and different from each other.

Just downloaded this for my new PC. Never played 2 or 3 so I’m hyped. I played through the original on my old PC a couple of times a few years back. Such an amazing game. From the story to the settings. Gunplay may not have been revolutionary, but it all works together well.
Just bought and downloading this now, super excited and I’ve never played the first one or any of the dlcs in the other 2. One thing I’m wondering, have they added the ability in me3 to holster your weapon when on missions but not in combat? Like you can in the first 2 games. I remember that really pissed me off back when ME3 dropped.
I myself came into this trilogy late...I had heard things about the original ME that turned me away from it especially due to ME2 being recently released at the time...I used the comic to bring myself up to speed at the time then after ME2 I just stopped. I’m now insanely excited to start from the first game and go all the way through. So far, Legendary Edition has gone beyond my own expectations and I’m loving every second of it. These Developers really did put the effort in on this. This is how a game series should be remastered!
Hi, excellent review, thanks. As a veteran player of the original trilogy (including ME3 multiplayer) I have an advise for those who have never played the games: Go for the Legendary Edition without hesitation. It will be love at first sight and you'll get not only the 3 remastered games but all their dlcs (save Pinnacle Station which was more a combat simulator than a real dlc, and had no impact on ME1) and their promo content. That's a lot better than what we got when the games were released. As for the bugs and other technical details I'm sure Bioware will fix them by releasing patches. They always supported their fans.
The remaster could have looked a lot better. They should have remastered it like saints row 3 remastered. That game makes so many visual improvements that it blurs the line between a remake and a remaster. If a small company like sperasoft can do such an impressive job then surely EA can too
They just upscaled the textures, upped the framerate, put lights on the models themselves (gross) and called it a day. Exactly the hackjob you'd expect EA to do.
I'm going to get this one. I bought all original games and their DLC so I can play everything already. But everything nicely packed together and seeing how good Mass Effect 1 is now, I can't hold myself from getting this one and experiencing everything again:)
Ever since I played ME1 the first time I constantly manual save my progress 😂. Nothin worse than dying on a planet and having to drive that thing all the way across it again

I’ve replayed the original 3 ME games multiple times for more than a decade. Am really enjoying the remaster. It gives me a chance to revisit the games in better quality.
Everyone has their own thoughts on Andromeda.... Personally I liked it Not so much the animations that was terrible but the storyline itself was okies. I think it got a lot of unjustified hate because ME1,2 and 3 were so loved and liked. ME:An was never meant to be a sequel to the trilogy if you like... it was a separate story but with links back to the original.. I was disappointed they never made a sequel to it, afterall they even hinted at its name at the end of ME:An
First time Mass Effect player here..... Amazing far ahead of its time in story telling and characters. What i like is yes there s a lot of dialogue but because characters get to the point quickly and not draw it out too long its easy to go through each dialogue option and really get lost in this world. Controls are a bit dated and that computer hacking in ME 2 with all the paragraphs to match is annoying but the world characters and story are amazing. Well worth playing if you enjoy sci fi ..
I hope the huge success of this remaster allows them to remaster the amazing PvE MP from Mass effect 3. I spent many hours fine tuning end game builds and testing the hundreds of weapons on offer
Only thing I'm worried about is if I don't look up stuff I might not get the best ending. Basically doing every mission and choosing the relatively right dialogue should work right?
play it however you want. just pick choices you like. don’t worry about ideal outcomes. if you really care about that just do a second play through. that’s the beauty of this game. The replay value is dope. you’ll enjoy it more the second time around when you notice little subtle things like the foreshadowing and the irony in some things.
I'd be very careful in ME2. Its actually fairly easy to get a bad ending, so play carefully. I wouldn't recommend looking too much stuff up though because these are old games and there's spoilers everywhere.
Definitely do all the missions. Especially in ME3 where most give you war assets. MINOR SPOILER BELOW In all three, do your best to keep people from dying. It isn't always possible, but avoid it when you can. In general, if you can keep Shepard's friends and allies alive, it helps to get the best ending.
While the ending was a bit messed up. ME3 was after the others in my opinion always going to be all out war. War and while the choices from the other games should matter there should have only been two endings But it should have been who was there with you at the end should have been most important.
I dont think anyone ever "hated" ME3 what people did not like was the ending.... Afterall you played the whole trilogy for countless hours for it just to end like that?? It felt rushed and incomplete. Although I understood the ending, it could have been done much better.... People after playing the Trilogy and gotten so involved with the characters. People wanted closure, wanting an ending that they could relate too sad or good.... Trouble was the ending given was not closure, it was incomplete and after all that time spent learning the characters immersing yourself in the ME universe, you were suddenly cut off with no closure.... you did not see your characters after your choice is made and i think that is what most people did not like.
Played 3 when it came out, enjoyed it but didn't fully appreciate it since I jumped in so late and was too young to really get it. Playing ME1 now, I am blown away.
Pro tip: do everyone's loyalty missions in ME2 before you go to the derilect reaper, and make sure to do legions loyalty mission last. (Also, fully upgrade your ships armor, shields and weapons.) You're welcome.
Back in the day I bought mass effect 1 on the 360, actually the first game I played in HD (720). I loved it, but never got the chance to play part 2 or part 3. Well, I went out bought my copy of legendary and I'm in the middle of part 1 again and loving every minute. So worth the money
All they need is to ditch EA Andromeda was the game EA forced them to make to showcase their frostbite engine regardless of if it translated to the art style and physics of the game hopefully they make enough money to buy themselves back like IO interactive did to save their creative vision or Microsoft buys EA out one day.
Everyone knows about the Genophage, but only a few stalwart heroes know about the Jeanophage. Turians and salarians conspired to deny the krogan access to pants, thus robbing them of their dignity and bringing a swift end to the Krogan Rebellions. Really loving the look of ME 1 in this though. I was afraid it wouldn't look any better than an ALOT modded original with a Reshade addon, glad to see I was wrong.
Haven’t been able to put it down since I got it despite trying to finish NieR Replicant and having played them originally. It’s like..visiting an old friend. The story is just so damn good.
@@cmoore202 I've played them all 2 years ago for the first time. Needless to say they're now some if the best games I've ever played. ME1 is my least favorite, and some gameplay elements can get a bit tedious, like a certain automated vehicle that shall remain nameless. ME2 is probably my favorite, and, in my opinion, has held up really well. I recently started playing the legendary edition, and its like I rediscovered a lost toy. I've been missing sleep, lol. Just bear in mind that, while it does look and play much better than the original, they are still older games, so they may require a little bit of patience. I'm mostly speaking about ME1. also, take your time with ME2, trying to rush that game can actually get you a bad ending, and there is one mission in ME2 that is a point of no return mission that you're gonna wanna hold off on until you're sure you wanna continue. Also, talk to as many people as you can, specifically your squad mates, and maybe read a lot of the lore since its some of the best written, well developed lore in any game I've ever seen. But only if you're a lore hunter like me. If not, I understand, it's a lot of reading. I sincerely hope you enjoy the trilogy. Have fun!

Just remember that the first game is setting up the world, establishing foundations, and the second and third one expand on that world in amazing ways. In these games are some of the most interesting aliens you'll ever see. In fact the aliens are so interesting that they vastly outshine the humans. And all of the alien species have very detailed histories, making them feel like real creatures. This is one of those game trilogies that could have been expanded on in a ton of ways, if Bioware knew what they were doing. I'm talking prequels AND sequels. Unfortunately I have my doubts about Biowares capabilities after Andromeda, but we'll see. Anyways, I hope these games knock your socks off.
One of my most minor appreciations, is that the infamous “decontamination in progress” has been shortened big time. I used to hate getting back into the Normandy for that very reason.
Just got to ME2 I haven't played any Mass Effect game before and I love it so far. Only frustrating thing so far is the UI and gameplay changes between games. Like why is there ammo now instead of heat based weapons? Why can I only vault over cover and have a good sprint mechanic now in ME2 but not in ME1? Why do I now have to refuel my ship between systems in ME2 but not ME1? Why can I not zoom in on the maps on ME2 but can on ME1? I know it's nitpicking but they should've streamlined the games to have more consistency. Although I loved ME1 it could've done with getting the gameplay of ME2 to modernise it a bit more.

Played ME1 and ME2, pretty good series. 8/10 in my view.
The craziest part about Mass Effect is that the whole trilogy was released in a 5 year span, all three games released on 360 and PS3. Golden years !

Anthem was an absolute train-wreck that they have now abandoned and Mass Effect: Andromeda was a piece of garbage that got Bioware Montreal melted down into spare parts for EA Motive. The last true success, critically and commercially, that Bioware had was Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2014... and even that game had significant pacing issues and myriad technical problems (not to mention the hell-crunch to churn out that "BIOWARE MAGIC").
Quite a long dry spell, and for the first true success since then to be a remastering of a decade old game trilogy designed by a team that has long since left Bioware... not great signs.

As a newcomer to the series I was really looking forward to this remaster. 60hrs in and I'm in love with the series. The 1st made the biggest impression on me so far, kinda like how the first Halo did when I was a kid.

Mass effect 2 is one of the greatest games of all time
This is my first time playing mass effect. The only issue I have had with the first game that I’m playing so far is the stuttering frame rate when driving in the mako. They did a great job. And the game is absolutely fantastic. I’m already about 30 hours through my first play through of the first game and I’ve been doing every side quest I can possibly do. I haven’t had this fun with a role playing game since kotor 1 and 2
I think everyone hates the Mako and most people were glad it didn't appear in the following games. The idea of the Mako was sound but it was one of the few things in the series that wasn't executed well. I'm glad I'm seeing more new players to the series and is a great example of what a remaster should do. There's going to be more interest than ever when Mass Effect 4 gets into late stages of development.

The most emotional moment for me in mass effect 1 was when commander Shepard was promoted to “Spectre” status.It was a touching scene to finally see a human given that honor.I also love the mass relay jump scenes.I think mass effect 2 has the best one.The mass effect series was incredible and still is.it’s way ahead of its time even by today’s standards.no other game has eclipsed it yet.Amazing story telling has captured everyone’s heart including mines forever eternally.I remember back in 2007 in mass effect 1,data pads were a common thing in the game’s story then 2 years later the iPad tablet was released.perhaps one day humanity might be able to develop a mass relay,what would take earth years to reach a planet will take only minutes.Humans are the best of all creations because no other living being can think up all this stuff like we do.

Really surprised that when discussing the combat changes in ME1 you didn't mention anything about the drastic rework of all of the weapons in the game, making certain weapons now act as semi-auto or burst fire to add in new combat options.

I missed this series somehow back in the day and never got around to playing it because I didn't have the older consoles anymore so I just sadly wrote it off that I'll never get to play it (same with Dead Space)
Then this was released and I was stoked to try it out and I can say it has been AMAZING

This game has the best lore I've ever seen. Everything is so interesting to read, and the aliens are really interesting as well. In fact the only human characters that I find as interesting as the aliens would be Jack and Miranda. I love how all the aliens have a dark past. Quarians with the Geth. Salarians, and Turians with the Genophage. It makes them seem human somehow. And learning about the Quarian lifestyle is mind blowing.
Just as Cerberus resurrect Sheppard to save the world and ultimately themself, Bioware resurrect Mass Effect to save their legacy.
edit : I hope they remake KOTOR next.
One can hope, but just remember the people who made KOTOR and Jade Empire are no longer with Bioware, meaning we'll be getting the same writers that made Andromeda... 😔

Mass Effect is one of those few trilogy games that are exceptionally well made. I've played each and every game atleast 5 times and I just keep coming back for more. I remember waiting in line at my local game store to buy mass effect 3 back in 2012. It was just and amazing experience to play such a brilliant trilogy in my teen years. People gave andromeda a lot of flack too, but I got to finally play it last year...and I like it too. It just enhances the plot a lot more from another characters perspective in a different time and place. I really hope that me5 actually gets green lit. One of the most influential RPG game series in my life.

Say what? The first ME before it came out was extremely hyped up and after release it was highly praised. Played it first day on release. I think people these days use the word "underrated" a little too loosely.
I'm about 2 thirds through the first game and loveit just like I did 14 years ago. The graphics are massively improved as is combat (though still not as good as 2 and 3) can't wait to experience all the Dlc on those two games which I didn't get back then
There was a time in my life when the Mass Effect characters were my only friends. Glad to know they did the games justice in the remaster.

Honestly, I was really afraid that a lot of newcomers would hate the game, but I'm so glad that a lot of people are enjoying it. I myself am replaying the trilogy right now, and if people can get past the Mako, which is probably the only part that I legit dislike about the entire series, then they will be able to enjoy the entire trilogy.

I don't how far you are into the trilogy, but I sincerely hope that you continue to love it. Its got some of the best lore in gaming in my opinion. All the aliens have distinct histories and backgrounds that make them feel real and different from each other.

Just downloaded this for my new PC. Never played 2 or 3 so I’m hyped. I played through the original on my old PC a couple of times a few years back. Such an amazing game. From the story to the settings. Gunplay may not have been revolutionary, but it all works together well.
Just bought and downloading this now, super excited and I’ve never played the first one or any of the dlcs in the other 2.
One thing I’m wondering, have they added the ability in me3 to holster your weapon when on missions but not in combat? Like you can in the first 2 games. I remember that really pissed me off back when ME3 dropped.

I myself came into this trilogy late...I had heard things about the original ME that turned me away from it especially due to ME2 being recently released at the time...I used the comic to bring myself up to speed at the time then after ME2 I just stopped. I’m now insanely excited to start from the first game and go all the way through. So far, Legendary Edition has gone beyond my own expectations and I’m loving every second of it. These Developers really did put the effort in on this. This is how a game series should be remastered!
Hi, excellent review, thanks. As a veteran player of the original trilogy (including ME3 multiplayer) I have an advise for those who have never played the games: Go for the Legendary Edition without hesitation. It will be love at first sight and you'll get not only the 3 remastered games but all their dlcs (save Pinnacle Station which was more a combat simulator than a real dlc, and had no impact on ME1) and their promo content. That's a lot better than what we got when the games were released. As for the bugs and other technical details I'm sure Bioware will fix them by releasing patches. They always supported their fans.
The remaster could have looked a lot better. They should have remastered it like saints row 3 remastered. That game makes so many visual improvements that it blurs the line between a remake and a remaster. If a small company like sperasoft can do such an impressive job then surely EA can too
They just upscaled the textures, upped the framerate, put lights on the models themselves (gross) and called it a day. Exactly the hackjob you'd expect EA to do.

I’ve replayed the original 3 ME games multiple times for more than a decade. Am really enjoying the remaster. It gives me a chance to revisit the games in better quality.

Everyone has their own thoughts on Andromeda.... Personally I liked it Not so much the animations that was terrible but the storyline itself was okies. I think it got a lot of unjustified hate because ME1,2 and 3 were so loved and liked. ME:An was never meant to be a sequel to the trilogy if you like... it was a separate story but with links back to the original.. I was disappointed they never made a sequel to it, afterall they even hinted at its name at the end of ME:An
First time Mass Effect player here..... Amazing far ahead of its time in story telling and characters. What i like is yes there s a lot of dialogue but because characters get to the point quickly and not draw it out too long its easy to go through each dialogue option and really get lost in this world. Controls are a bit dated and that computer hacking in ME 2 with all the paragraphs to match is annoying but the world characters and story are amazing. Well worth playing if you enjoy sci fi ..
I hope the huge success of this remaster allows them to remaster the amazing PvE MP from Mass effect 3. I spent many hours fine tuning end game builds and testing the hundreds of weapons on offer
Only thing I'm worried about is if I don't look up stuff I might not get the best ending. Basically doing every mission and choosing the relatively right dialogue should work right?
play it however you want. just pick choices you like. don’t worry about ideal outcomes. if you really care about that just do a second play through. that’s the beauty of this game. The replay value is dope. you’ll enjoy it more the second time around when you notice little subtle things like the foreshadowing and the irony in some things.
I'd be very careful in ME2. Its actually fairly easy to get a bad ending, so play carefully. I wouldn't recommend looking too much stuff up though because these are old games and there's spoilers everywhere.
Definitely do all the missions. Especially in ME3 where most give you war assets.
MINOR SPOILER BELOW
In all three, do your best to keep people from dying. It isn't always possible, but avoid it when you can. In general, if you can keep Shepard's friends and allies alive, it helps to get the best ending.

While the ending was a bit messed up. ME3 was after the others in my opinion always going to be all out war. War and while the choices from the other games should matter there should have only been two endings But it should have been who was there with you at the end should have been most important.
I dont think anyone ever "hated" ME3 what people did not like was the ending.... Afterall you played the whole trilogy for countless hours for it just to end like that?? It felt rushed and incomplete. Although I understood the ending, it could have been done much better.... People after playing the Trilogy and gotten so involved with the characters. People wanted closure, wanting an ending that they could relate too sad or good.... Trouble was the ending given was not closure, it was incomplete and after all that time spent learning the characters immersing yourself in the ME universe, you were suddenly cut off with no closure.... you did not see your characters after your choice is made and i think that is what most people did not like.
Speaking of technical issues when I'm walking my companions get stuck to my character and jump around me, has anyone else had any weird glitches?

Played 3 when it came out, enjoyed it but didn't fully appreciate it since I jumped in so late and was too young to really get it. Playing ME1 now, I am blown away.

Pro tip: do everyone's loyalty missions in ME2 before you go to the derilect reaper, and make sure to do legions loyalty mission last. (Also, fully upgrade your ships armor, shields and weapons.)

Back in the day I bought mass effect 1 on the 360, actually the first game I played in HD (720). I loved it, but never got the chance to play part 2 or part 3. Well, I went out bought my copy of legendary and I'm in the middle of part 1 again and loving every minute. So worth the money

All they need is to ditch EA Andromeda was the game EA forced them to make to showcase their frostbite engine regardless of if it translated to the art style and physics of the game hopefully they make enough money to buy themselves back like IO interactive did to save their creative vision or Microsoft buys EA out one day.

Everyone knows about the Genophage, but only a few stalwart heroes know about the Jeanophage. Turians and salarians conspired to deny the krogan access to pants, thus robbing them of their dignity and bringing a swift end to the Krogan Rebellions.
Really loving the look of ME 1 in this though. I was afraid it wouldn't look any better than an ALOT modded original with a Reshade addon, glad to see I was wrong.
Haven’t been able to put it down since I got it despite trying to finish NieR Replicant and having played them originally. It’s like..visiting an old friend. The story is just so damn good.

@@cmoore202 I've played them all 2 years ago for the first time. Needless to say they're now some if the best games I've ever played. ME1 is my least favorite, and some gameplay elements can get a bit tedious, like a certain automated vehicle that shall remain nameless. ME2 is probably my favorite, and, in my opinion, has held up really well. I recently started playing the legendary edition, and its like I rediscovered a lost toy. I've been missing sleep, lol. Just bear in mind that, while it does look and play much better than the original, they are still older games, so they may require a little bit of patience. I'm mostly speaking about ME1. also, take your time with ME2, trying to rush that game can actually get you a bad ending, and there is one mission in ME2 that is a point of no return mission that you're gonna wanna hold off on until you're sure you wanna continue. Also, talk to as many people as you can, specifically your squad mates, and maybe read a lot of the lore since its some of the best written, well developed lore in any game I've ever seen. But only if you're a lore hunter like me. If not, I understand, it's a lot of reading.

@@cmoore202 everybody is different, of course, but I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised with both the story and characters. Just remember that the first game is setting up the world, establishing foundations, and the second and third one expand on that world in amazing ways. In these games are some of the most interesting aliens you'll ever see. In fact the aliens are so interesting that they vastly outshine the humans. And all of the alien species have very detailed histories, making them feel like real creatures. This is one of those game trilogies that could have been expanded on in a ton of ways, if Bioware knew what they were doing. I'm talking prequels AND sequels. Unfortunately I have my doubts about Biowares capabilities after Andromeda, but we'll see.
Anyways, I hope these games knock your socks off.
One of my most minor appreciations, is that the infamous “decontamination in progress” has been shortened big time. I used to hate getting back into the Normandy for that very reason.
Just got to ME2 I haven't played any Mass Effect game before and I love it so far. Only frustrating thing so far is the UI and gameplay changes between games. Like why is there ammo now instead of heat based weapons? Why can I only vault over cover and have a good sprint mechanic now in ME2 but not in ME1? Why do I now have to refuel my ship between systems in ME2 but not ME1? Why can I not zoom in on the maps on ME2 but can on ME1? I know it's nitpicking but they should've streamlined the games to have more consistency. Although I loved ME1 it could've done with getting the gameplay of ME2 to modernise it a bit more.
