After melding with Liara (if you chose her) in ME1 she could sense where Shepard was if he was alive. Hence why she doesn't put his plaque on the wall and smiles if he survives.

I know so many people who skipped the first game or quit half way through. I'm so glad that people will get another chance to experience it because it honestly is my favourite of the trilogy. Where 2&3 were almost fantasy at times The original felt like true hard Sci fi. 2&3 are theatrical and fun to experience but in that first game the "grittiness" actually felt real.
Most of the series quality world building was put in place for ME1. Everything after was either designed to be "cool" or support third person shooter gameplay. Thats why the writing quality outside of isolated character side missions drops dramatically.
I'm probably the exact opposite, then: I've played through the first game multiple times, the second once, and the 3rd one and Andromeda have been sitting on my hard drive unplayed ever since they came out...
This 100%. ME1 had by far the most grounded feeling universe before it went the space magic route. Honestly I was pretty bummed by the feel of ME2 vs. ME1 but that was outweighed by just much higher production values around gameplay and major character interactions
@@jmlaw8888 Most world building usually happens in the first installment of a series. It’s how this works. I find the character interactions of ME2 to be some of the best in the trilogy.

Really happy (AFAIK) they got rid of orange everything in ME2.
Touching lava no longer instantly kills you- "removing ALL of the challenge"...Yeah the challenge of suddenly glitching and hitting lava and having to keep reloading autosaves because the game wouldn't let you manually save in an hour or so. It really removes that challenge. The challenge of not pulling your hair out.
played thru the games a multitude of times and that never happened to me, not even once, the only times i touched lava was either because of me being distracted or me intentionally hoping in just because.
Or you know... The challenge of trying to control the original Mako, hitting a pebble, getting sent 10 feet into the air onto a 90 degree cliff into the lava, or an abyss in the case of Noveria.
It's really clunky now. I still kinda love to play entire trilogy like every 2-3 years once, and ME1 had best story, but gameplay amd controls are really dated. ME3 had beat gameplay, it was fairly smooth compared to first two gamea.
@Manek Iridius ME1 should have the fluency of combat from ME2 and 3 ONLY if you have training with the weapons in question. That way ME1 remains an rpg, and not more like a third person shooter.
I always thought the mako handling was due to low gravity, quite liked it. I will wait for reviews before getting it because I have lost patience with developers releasing flawed products. Just hoping it's good and the original special something it had has not been lost.

And you can toss geth colossus units WAY farther now, I got that airtime following one that I hit with forward boost then jump boost while under it.)

@@Summon256 Not to mention the Warp bug in ME1 on the PS3: Whenever you used Warp, there is a high chance of the game locking up upon the next load screen. It is therefore highly recommended that the game be saved every now and then after Warp has been used (especially before a new environment is loaded or after multiple uses of the skill). The more often it has been used, the more likely it is for the game to freeze even without a load taking place. This is particularly devastating at the end of the game when the scene is shifting multiple times (one of the loads eventually causes the game to freeze). So you either have to bring squad mates who don't use Warp or disable the automatic use of any offensive biotics. Of course, you yourself need to refrain from using Warp as well if your class has it available...

Ammo dropping more frequently sounds great and all, but the enemies should be doing so for Jacob's loyalty mission (surprised nobody made a mod for that). It sounds like the perfect remaster, but I've been let down too many times by game companies in the past. I'll wait until after the reviews came out; the actual reviews that don't have a best-game-ever or worst-game-ever agenda behind them, to decide if I'll buy this.
It would also be nice to have a way to reliably make money in ME 2 and 3 as the upgrades for weapons and armor were expensive so we personally had to be careful what we purchased and had to sacrifice other things instead of being able to buy everything, so it would be cool to be able to sell excess minerals for scanning planets to make more cash
I loved the trilogy when I played them back on the x360. Sadly, I never got a chance to play the dlc back then because I wasn't in a position at the time to purchase dlc. So this package is a welcome sight for me. I am really looking forward to it.
My favorite game of all time. Never had a real problem with the Mako. It bounced a lot and i did had no problem with it. Really going to get the legendary edition. Even liked Andromeda. Thank you for the update.
I guess it's a pipe dream, but I would hope that Bioware would fix the ending of ME3. If not, oh well, but I think it should at least be said after how many were upset with the original ending for the series
I recall something about that ending setup having been planned and intended from very early on in the trilogy's development. Seems a bit odd but *shrug*
I might pick it up, but I have two concerns: 1.) I'm hearing a lot of sh*t about censorships, how bad is it going to get? and 2.) they took out my signature fighting style? I found ways to make the MAKO dance and kung-fu kick enemies. I'm a little disappointed.
Did they change the ending so it doesn't make all of your decisions over the course of the series pointless? No, of course not. That would require effort and cost money.
Don't let the full ending ruin the entirety of it though. These games and the stories within are still amazing. ME3 gets shat on because of the ending, but I still think it's a great game, and great series.
One thing nobody said about one, did they make grenades easier to get? An unlimited supply was one of the big draws for me to get Pinnacle Station but that's gone now.
6:50 - So much this! Every thresher maw, every turret on the exploration planets were killed on foot, a thing that probably pushed me to level 100 in a single playthrough. :D I hope it will still be possible to scale near-vertical inclines with the Mako though.
I'm so hyped to play all these games again! I haven't played any since they launched so its almost going to be like new to me since I've forgotten a lot of it! 😍
Having started and finished my playthrough of hardcore, i so happened to hear that this was rumored to be coming. So, after I beat it in hardcore, I stopped... and waited. Nearly a whole year, now! But, seeing all these changes, makes me want to still 100% the old games, plus, I'm very close to doing so for Me1 and 2 (Never played 3). So, Mass Effect, you will rule my life for the next while! lol.
I'm kinda worried about the "audio remixed" thing. Could that mean the legendary edition won't have the "war ambience" in ME3? The gunfire and explosiond you hear in the background of, for example, the final battle of Earth.
I think ME1 was the 2nd time I fell in love with gaming, the 1st being when I 1st played Zelda. Loved ME1, can't wait to experience a better version of it!

@C U Next Tuesday offcourse it was EA, man I hate them...yeah I heard about choices then by the end they didn't mean too much, but they got the DLC ending that apparently is a bit better/ties up more loose ends so i guess I'll see, I think that's y I didn't play it, heard it was a great game/trilogy but ending ruined it a decent amount so I think I was like nah old graphics now plus bad pay-off so never played it, but this one I'm going to cause all remastered all on one disc like the assassin creed ezio collection and I love that sort of stuff so decided to pull the trigger and get this
Overall I would say this is the best version to play... but it does have some issues that probably won't get patched out. The fact you have to play the post game DLC for ME1 before you do the final boss fight because the game doesn't "Continue" you post credits before the Iios level after you beat the game. Sadly I was one of the few who liked multiplayer though.....
I was a bit leery about buying ME: Legendary Edition because I already own all three ME games and all the DLC. I bought it and I have not regretted it. Only game I will say that a remake is worth every single penny.
This is going to be the best game of all time. Mass effect opened my eyes to the beauty of space and sci-fi games. I’m preordering it one week before it comes out no matter what. Long live Shepherd and Tali!
what we need is Dead Space 4 that will be true to the horror genre and not the mindless shooter. DS3 was decent game as a standalone but as a sequel to DE2 it was way too action packed and way too simplified
Not really sure what they mean with the immunity change. It was already the best defensive cooldown in ME1 once you unlocked the master version, since you literally can't die with it active and you can have it up like 80+% of the time while in combat. So I'm not sure if they're buffing it or nerfing in Legendary.

The thing is I would have played it all even without these upgrades so now everything is just a bonus. Love this game from the start.
Mood. I'm kinda bummed about the Miranda cutscenes being altered but I'm sure someone will mod them back in relatively soon so eh.
Let us just say that Garrus himself redid this whole game especially when he looked at everything and said "By the goddess" that's when this got upgraded to legendary status.
I mean... I always thought the reason the Mako was that way originally was because (and this was my personal Shepard Backstory here) Shepard can't drive.

I'm guessing this. That was one of the biggest complaints about the ending.
3 games, 100's of hours, and all we get is shepard breathing?
How about their love interest saving them? After melding with Liara (if you chose her) in ME1 she could sense where Shepard was if he was alive. Hence why she doesn't put his plaque on the wall and smiles if he survives.
Me who goes with Tali most of the time. Fuck well now I guess I gotta do all the romance options if the ending changes based on your love interest.
This is me hoping they do change the ending to be affected or add a new one.
@@davecullins1606 You're definitely right. If they were gonna add anything too the ending to give us some more insight it'd have to be now. But if they don't then you'd only expect that they'd have something planned with the new game to expand on ME 3's ending to make more sense to what's going on. But I do believe they have something planned with the legendary edition

Most world building usually happens in the first installment of a series. It’s how this works.
I find the character interactions of ME2 to be some of the best in the trilogy.
@@willlasdf123 I quit ME2 because it didn't had what I loved about ME1. The feel, the plot, the characters, everything was upside down. Really happy (AFAIK) they got rid of orange everything in ME2.
I just hope they give Tali a proper ending like they gave the rest of the girls. Aka no fade to black. None photoshopped cabin photo ect..
Touching lava no longer instantly kills you- "removing ALL of the challenge"...Yeah the challenge of suddenly glitching and hitting lava and having to keep reloading autosaves because the game wouldn't let you manually save in an hour or so. I like the tweaks especially on the first game. The gameplay hasnt aged particular well so this is nice to see.
It's really clunky now. I still kinda love to play entire trilogy like every 2-3 years once, and ME1 had best story, but gameplay amd controls are really dated. ME3 had beat gameplay, it was fairly smooth compared to first two gamea.
I would've loved if they changed the weapon system in ME 1 but I guess it does have a narrative purpose if not a practical one
@Manek Iridius ME1 should have the fluency of combat from ME2 and 3 ONLY if you have training with the weapons in question. That way ME1 remains an rpg, and not more like a third person shooter.
@Manek Iridius I got used to each new combat system by the end of the game, but the fact that it changed so much each game pissed me off.

Especially that side quest exposing that salarian administrator (is that Annoleis or something?! I am bad on salarian names!), it is so bugged, that there are more ways to screw the quest, than complete it normally! If you preform certain actions out of order you may even end up not being able to finish the quest at all! They were horrible progress killing bugs i hope devs fixed this time!
It sounds like the perfect remaster, but I've been let down too many times by game companies in the past. I'll wait until after the reviews came out; the actual reviews that don't have a best-game-ever or worst-game-ever agenda behind them, to decide if I'll buy this.
Get it. Its so amazing in comparison with the origin
There was plenty money to buy everything. You also had the shadow broker ship when shep abd liara take over that gives you additional upgrades
I loved the trilogy when I played them back on the x360. Sadly, I never got a chance to play the dlc back then because I wasn't in a position at the time to purchase dlc. So this package is a welcome sight for me. I am really looking forward to it.

I guess it's a pipe dream, but I would hope that Bioware would fix the ending of ME3. If not, oh well, but I think it should at least be said after how many were upset with the original ending for the series
They already announced that the ending is going to be changed from ME3
destroy ending is default now
I recall something about that ending setup having been planned and intended from very early on in the trilogy's development. Seems a bit odd but *shrug*
I might pick it up, but I have two concerns:
1.) I'm hearing a lot of sh*t about censorships, how bad is it going to get?
and 2.) they took out my signature fighting style? I found ways to make the MAKO dance and kung-fu kick enemies. I'm a little disappointed.
Maybe they will make the LOCUST available earlier in ME3...
...and give it the sounds it made in ME2.

But, have they fixed Javik's wall-hating ways in Citadel DLC?

Not really sure what they mean with the immunity change.
