Spending Coronavirus Social Distancing time binging your videos! What a way to social distance yourself and at the same time share your adventures with the world! Thank you!
I loved your comment about taking us with you. It’s insightful, and true. You really put your heart into these videos, and I can only thank you for it.
Hi Barry, it’s great to watch you follow your boy hood dream. Travelling with you each week is like following my own boy hood imagines. Thanks for all your hard work videoing and editing. If you get Brisbane (AUS) I’ll buy you a beer or two. Cheers.
Great videos Barry, I've spent the last couple hours on a wet winter's afternoon in Cambridge, New Zealand following your 70 odd day journey to French Polynesia, you are an inspiration. When you get to NZ you are most welcome to come and stay for a few days. Cheers to you, Martin Lee
He Old Seadog, great adventure your having there! I cruised for 25+ yrs. Nothing else like it. At 75 I’m still sailing but not long range cruising anymore. You’re doing a great job on the videos. Thanks.
I just realized, this is the first time I've commented on your channel. I love what you're doing. You're showing a different take on cruising from other You-Tubers. I like comparing your vision to that of Ran. Very different, both are wonderful.
Loving your videos, Barry. Thank you for every bit of it. I enjoy your stories, your insights, and your camera work. You really are a good film-maker! I often forget that I'm not watching a 30 minute show on my TV. Well done, captain!
Barry, thank you for sharing your journey with us. Thoroughly enjoy your videos and your sense of humour. If you are ever in Fremantle, Western Australia let us know. It would be great to meet you in person. Take care and keep living the dream!
Hey Dog ! Barry, the videos are beautiful! My Lady and I so enjoy getting to travel with you. We have never had the opportunity to go to the south Pacific . My Father did in WW2 . I don't know if he had time to enjoy it. Unfortunately he contracted malaria there . It haunted him the rest of his life . Be safe my friend. The water fall was stunning! Glad you got to take us there . We look forward to seeing you soon. Fair winds and following seas . Thanks !
I just realized that I am not subscribed to your channel; I've been watching for a while. I think you do a damn good job with videos for a solo sailor. I know how much work it takes to edit. I'm subscribing now. I enjoy your videos as much as I enjoy Delos, Nahoa, Atticus, Windhippie, ExpeditionDrenched, etc. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I just found your sailing channel --- and I'm writing to tell you that you have one of the best out there, if not the best....love your humour, style and voice and just how you present yourself and what you show us...love it. Many of the others are all fluff with an agenda that I don't from you. I will subscribe and start watching all your older vlogs too. Will love to see the S.Pacific, NZ and Auz through your eyes. You are just so very down to earth and easy to watch for me to sit back and enjoy. Your camera and editing is good too....very good all around. Blessings and fair winds.
Looked up Fatu hiva found out that Thor Heyerdahl wrote a book about living there for a year and half, Great and interesting videos always! Thanks Barry
Another great Video Barry, I must have missed a video, your boat is looking much better and you are looking a bit happier. Look forward to seeing you in New Zealand
Discovered your channel about a month ago, subscribed, and have watched a bunch of videos since. Quite a life you have going there, Barry! I rather think this quote fits you: “One travels to run away from routine, that dreadful routine that kills all imagination and all our capacity for enthusiasm.” ~~ Ella Maillart Looking forward to more of your adventures!
What keeps me coming back to your page is.................. you are sooo bloody real!! I "get" your humour....... I "get" you sarcasm etc.............. You are a Pom......... and I am Australian!! NOTHING LIKE BLOODY POMS as far as I am concerned.
Not a bad waterfall for a " trickle ". Yes we are going with you and loving every minute of it . thanks Barry. Oh, and the hull cleaned up nicely. Going over to Johan and Malin now. Did you hear the news? A little sailor is coming😊. See you next week. Take care
What a beautiful place to visit. Just spectacular. Not sure I would’ve drank the water. Just saying. Watching this kind of video always makes me wonder why I am not there. Well...I’m not a sailor, I get seasick in a bathtub, I sunburn too easy, medical issues, medications, family, ei ei o! I still want to go lol.
Greetings from Poole! Great to see you and Shaddy enjoying life on the other side of the world. Your an inspiration for the future! Safe Sea's and fair winds my friend.
I've been subbed for awhile and started catching up. I can't wait for the next part with New Zealand on the way. Great work Barry, you make better content with that old camera than almost all of these new kids, us old guys will have to keep it going on TH-cam. I'm not a sailor, I just like sailing videos and cars but I have loads of cars
Great to hear you plan on coming to New Zealand. If you get past Auckland and make it down to the Abel Tasman coastline of Nelson, I'll keep an eye out for you. Can bring beer!
Barry I'm what you call an old prson going be eighty soon. I see out my bath room window much of what you see on the ocean. I live in my thirty ft travel trailer in the high desert of Texas . I see wind, dirt, hail ( some beyond belief) lightning, very unconscious people, try to make aquantents with God's creatures, try to make the best of what's been dumped on me. And with this I am unable to change anything . I've been doing this for about twenty years. Always finding something broken or ready to break. I thought that I would never learn to except. I believe in watching you sail and talk the highs and lows this will even make my journey easier. God guides us we just have to learn to except the reason's.... The reasons come in patients. God bless . Guy
Really beautiful. Thanks for sharing your ongoing trip. Will follow you as you sail to Australia. How did you get your hull cleaned. Continued safe travels.
Well done Barry, from one of the visual highlight island groups in the s. pacific. Try to fit in the Vava'u island group in Tonga. Another paradise for yachties. Cheers mate.
The fruit at 7:10 is pomeloi. The pomelo is a natural, i.e., non-hybrid, citrus fruit; they are less sweet than an orange and far less tart than a grapefruit. The grapefruit is a hybrid resulting from crossing two separate species; sweet orange (Citrus sinesis) and the pomelo.
HI Barry, Have you been studing the using of the Short Wave?? Please include some footage of it ok. Keep the dull side down. Keep having fun.. May the God's keep you in light, and safe passages.
Love ur comment on the American pronunciation of Awesome, Aussie abbreviation of the word is Orsm. Hopefully after the Pacific Islands you will reach the Mother Land and enrich your language skills. Great job Sea Dog!
At 7.03 you guys are eating a wonderful Pomelo’. The largest fruit of the citrus family. What Mike was trying to call it was ‘Pamplemousse’ the French word for Grapefruit. 😜
I've watched every vid you've done Bazza, because it's something I've got planned too, and yes I have the boat to do it (Sigma 33). You've struggled at times - especially across the Pacific to the Marquesas, but you stuck at it, doggedly at times, but that is your nature - you just don't give up and we are all rooting for you.. Pleased the boat looks so much better but there's not much you can do with the 'car' - except get a replacement. Keep at it mate. KBO
Really enjoying your channel Barry , when you eventually get to Australia if you are anywhere near my neck of the woods i'd like to buy you a beer ! Cheers Ian

The problem with beautiful remote waterfalls is that they are usually at the end of a long uphill trail.
your vessel looks in better shape now. Awesome is a good word. 🌎🖐
I am streaming your adventure right now. for the last few days. Thank you
Stunning nature... Hope one of your stops includes a haul out so your boat can get some very much needed love... sandblasting included...

Just interrupting at 6.08!

WOW! Silverback falls!
How about a "how the boat fared the crossing" video?
HI Barry, Have you been studing the using of the Short Wave?? Please include some footage of it ok. Keep the dull side down. Keep having fun.. May the God's keep you in light, and safe passages.
I agree Barry. On next long passage it would be nice for you to have method to contact family if running late.
Plenty of near new dinghy laying about Kent coast with engines going free only used once Calais to Dover
Easy Mike's dinghy seems to be a very good design....
Love ur comment on the American pronunciation of Awesome, Aussie abbreviation of the word is Orsm. Hopefully after the Pacific Islands you will reach the Mother Land and enrich your language skills. Great job Sea Dog!
Good luck and God's speed.
Nice way to start a Friday , an adventure with the Seadog !!! no cold beer yet I see ? Might have to get together a liquid care package!!
Fatu Hiva, the best of the best! As scenic and close to paradise as you can get. Let me know if you can find something better Barry?
Jolly good show.
