This video reminds me a lot of memories when I was there in the late 90s, fortunately this little gem island still untouched and peaceful, thanks for sharing your Polynesian adventure
Without a doubt, the best presentation of this paradise on YT. Like you all, Fatu Hiva was my vision quest since I was a child and saw a picture of a young native boy on the bow of a dugout looking back at the camera with the incredible backdrop of the dissected volcanic cliffs of Fatu Hiva behind him. Crewing a sailboat for a wealthy benefactor, that quest came true for me decades ago now and I never have nor ever will forget the utterly soul-stirring first vision of Hanavave and the island paradise beyond. There is no other place like it on Earth! Thank you so much for doing it justice!!! Steve/Aberdeen, WA
My partner and I sailed "Finisterre IV" to the Marquesas in 1983 (en route around the world). Back then, we were the only yacht sailing in the islands for several weeks. It was still the old South Pacific; a totally different world from what sailing videos show now. Your videos bring back visual memories of this incredible place that had become hazy with age. Thank you!
By far one of the , if not best sailing video I’ve ever seen. A gem 💎 of a video. What a superb channel. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful adventure with us. Many blessings to you both.
Just the most stunning video we have seen of these Islands yet, ... with the sailing images, Porpoise images, fruit harvest images, and native Islander images! Thank you very much for sharing this video, and many others with us!
Thank you for showing us the beauty of your journey.I am an 80 year old german sailor, who now lives on a small island in Venezuela . I really love to see what you are doing, Love your boat!!🎉
Great work on putting this together. I enjoy the simple straightforward presentation that is informative, beautiful, and relaxing. Just what I needed. I will be spending a lot of time catching up. Thank you.
You seem to have a perfect sense for the right amount of dialogue, quiet time for us to visualize what is in your videos, and supplement it with some outstanding music! Not only that but you have longer videos which allows your viewers time to really settle in and become part of the video itself. So many others have 5 or 10 minute videos and by the time you get ready to really get into it...it's over. Keep those videos 20 minutes or longer. Truly an outstanding job, thank you.
Spectacular so well done you guys should win the award mellow beautiful music not too much dialogue should I go on... God bless and I hope you live a long life..
Life as it should be lived! What an amazing adventure you're on! Everywhere you turn there is beauty and you do the best job in capturing it. Thank you for taking me along on this journey! Safe passage to the Tuamotus!
New favorite sailing channel. There’s something lackluster about modern cruising with incredible boats and technology, it takes the adventure and romance out of it. Something you guys have no shortage of. Smaller wooden boat like yours is my goal, back to the basics. I’m 22 and now realizing the sooner the better. You guys are living life to the fullest. Together. Fair winds & following seas
This year I also made my dream come true and put my foot on Fatu Hiva Arrivingto Marquesas by plane and 3 hours by boat from Hiva Oa it was still specialty me. Walk from Hanavave to Omoa and back. It was 30 km of amazing scenery. I Agree, this must be the most beautiful island in the world
I don't know a thing about videography, but you two have a gift for it. The Marquesas/ Fatu Hiva have fascinated me for years, and I soak up everything I can about them when I find it. This is some of the best footage I've seen. Absolutely beautiful, serene, and moving. You can understand viscerally from this footage why Thor and Liv Hayerdahl, after poring over maps of the world, decided Fatu Hiva was the best place in earth for their project of getting Back To Nature. I'm not sure how I will do it, but I have to get there some day. Thank you for the taste.
We were left speechless by your wonderful video trip log… we live in Tucson and own a casita in Bahia de Kino and love the Sea of Cortez, but now like you we are “yearning to go south”!! The Marquesas Islands are definitely a life time event and your videos have now sparked that fire for us to follow thru to visit. Would love to to sailboat down but unfortunately we are past that time but not to old to sail thru the skies!! Making our plans now!! Thank you for all the time, effort and sleepless nights you dedicated yourselves to make this exotic gift for all the viewers!! You two are our heroes!! Chuck and Francisca.
Thank you for living my dream and sharing yours with us. I’m no longer able to complete a voyage like this due to disability and age. You have let me see what I have missed in such an elegant way.
I have to echo the sentiment of so many other comments, your videos are the best sailing/cruising videos I've found anywhere. Thanks for sharing these amazing places, I am going to have to go back and re-read all the sailing books I read 40+ years ago. I'll be watching this again for sure.
I learned to sail about 40 years ago out of Dana Point Harbor in South Orange County, Calif. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. On one outing, we were becalmed about 15 miles from the harbor. Then, while sitting at the helm hoping for some wind, a California grey whale passed within 40ft from the transom. It's hard to imagine their size until you get that close. I'm nearly 80 years old now and living in on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, so I've not sailed in many years. But I have the memories. Thank you for reminding me of those wonderful memories.
I complement you for the most rewarding calmness in the presentation of your impressions, never loose the respect for silence in between your sharing the moment! Laszlo

You guys are leaving my dream! I used to read all Thor Heyrdhall books from his travels to the Polynesian Islands and I was dreaming of visiting them. Hello, my name is Daniel, I am from Venezuela. The closest I have been to the open sea is in a wooden motorboat, which we call a "peñero" here, heading to Cayo Sombrero in Falcón, Venezuela. I have to admit that I am afraid of the depths, but after watching your journey very closely, the whirlwind of feelings that is managing to cross the Pacific Ocean, I have begun to realize that it requires a lot of sacrifice and preparation, even if it is as a helper on a sailboat, I realize that it truly is an experience that is worth the pain

For the record, I’ve been in some terrifying following seas. Fair winds are always good though.
Thank you really much to bring us with you on these magnificent islands. What a place on earth!
