Imagine she is singing that live. Such a talent she is still today, her playing "The Boxer" with Paul Simon at 80 years old live is a must see as well. One of the most talented and beautiful singing voices of all time, her playing is a lady version of Gordon Lightfoot. Simply no words how amazing she is. No one can come close today to that performance.

Joan's version of this Phil Ochs song, at the age she is in this video, is the best version of the song I have ever heard.
Yes, I like to hear Phil sing it too, but Joan was simply the best singer to come out of those folkie years.

I will always remember, with incredible fondness, sitting at her feet while she gave a short performance at the Unitarian Church in Berkeley, on its small stage, for those of us who had marched at the Free Speech Movement rally of that day.

I have heard this song over and over. And I have come to the conclusion that I prefer Och's singing to Baez's.

Even if you don't agree with the tenor of the lyrics the sheer beauty of her singing
carries you along and almost brings you to tears. What a voice she had here.

Thanks for that breath of fresh air what a great share I think I saw her last on some award show her her niece or didn’t know who she was or her grandchild and it was pretty cool to watch her as she found out... I bet. I think if I was to get famous in America I raise my kids in England or Australia where they don’t know anything about me I wonder about famous kids or famous people anyway what an awesome talent what a divine inspiration in shoes and I think ration was passed around so that all way encourage others to do good in ways they... which they just don’t really want to think about Bam that’s music Pow that’s Batman and robin checking for lumps early in Life!
I’ll bet she was called an Uber liberal way before they knew what an Uber was and I hope she’s a gun owning Republican voting for Joe Biden.

The truly great Joan Baez with a voice as clear as a bell sang this one with a troubled look and clenched teeth. Bad day?

Yeah there were the music of the seventies of the flower power and what there is today is really signs of the apocaylypse. Know it. Face it. Wake up if you're spiritually asleep and rise your consciousness. The apocalypse has two parts. The bright shining light of the universe and darkness which is the absence of love. These are the times when we have to make the choice for which part we make our decision. Those that make the wrong decision are doomed. We can only pray for those that inherit this planet from us to wake up and make the right decision. That is what Joan Baez between the lines was constantly singing about for those that listened. And today's musicians are prey for the industry almost inevitable not to get eaten alive by it. What we can do: praying.
