    Great in theory but in practice it feels a step too far. The real issue I see is whether the technology is reliable. Even if some of these features filter down into production they will just be gimmicks that are expensive to repair when they go wrong. Would rather manufacturers focus on battery tech so that they charge faster and go further.

    • @stormwindchampion3992
      @stormwindchampion3992 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      People who work on design and the people who work on battery tech are not the same therefore both aspects can be developed at the same time. In fact, those two groups of people may not even work for the same company so prioritising research is a non-issue.
      With the exception of the autonomous driving, much of the tech in the car already exists outside of the car world. The reason it takes so long to get to cars is because of reliability so while you are indeed right to be concerned about that aspect, the reliability issues may not be as bad you think. Consider touchscreens. We've had touchscreens for a long time but they have only been employed in cars in the last few years because only now are they reliable enough.
      A lot of this is a step too far, as you've said. How much of it winds up in production remains to be seen...
      It's an interesting look into what the future might contain

    • @Metal05
      @Metal05 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I feel like all these Audi concepts took major inspiration from Kia's K8 sedan (almost Korean-exclusive luxury car). Not a bad thing because I love those design elements. Still can't help but notice the diamond grille patterns, the light shape, the way the indicators are part of the grille and all those details.

    • @Alby911
      @Alby911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't look like the Kia K8's grille is functional though, and diamond shaped grille's are nothing new. The shape is completely different as well. Either way, both companies have their own identity.

    • @TD1237

      @@Alby911 Yeah but the implementation is very similar even if the shape is different. Like the way it works with the headlights. Not that they copied but idk I just can't help but see the K8 in it. But yeah they do have their own identities, that's true.

      @@lukamih Yes I remember that too. However, funnily enough, the K8 isn't designed by the usual Kia designer. The team's led by 2 Korean people. Idk why lol, I guess because it's not coming to US or UK, they designed it for a different audience.

      @Alby911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Obviously the most useful function of the screen-grill is displaying mirror-image text (thus readable in rear view mirrors). Messages such as, "Hey asshole, get out the fast lane!", and, "Use your blinker, asshole!", would be a much safer and much more effective means of initiating road rage incidents of the future. Currently, such incidents require a lot of tedious manual labor to achieve similar results, and frankly I think it's past time we modernized this aspect of the driving experience.
